Reaper-X PCSX2 SVN Compile / Build

Update: I’ve stopped releasing pcsx2 svn compile, i’d suggest you to check the official pcsx2 website directly :)

So basically in order to avoid cluttering the pcsx2 guide, and because it seems there are interest on my pcsx2 svn build / compile. I decided that perhaps creating a separate post about pcsx2 svn compile in order to make updating much easier in the future. Basically this page will list the svn build compiled by me and so to those who are interested on using the latest pcsx2 build, you can download it from this page (feel free to bookmark this page if you want). And i also included both Legacy GUI of PCSX2 and also the New GUI of PCSX2 and obviously the necessary plugins except for the BIOS file of course, so you can test on which one is best for you (personally i prefer to use the old Legacy GUI but it’s up to you to decide) :)

But first as a note, PCSX2 may / may not support SVN Build / Compile (i’m not sure whether pcsx2 team allow error reporting from unofficial build), so use it at your own risk. And absolutely it’s virus free, so there’s no need to worry about virus or malware

And of course all credits should be given to PCSX2 team

How to cheat on PCSX2

Ever wondered how to use cheat codes such as Codebreaker or Armax on pcsx2?. Maybe this simple guide can help you on how to cheat on pcsx2.

PCSX2 Mana Khemia

Before i get started, i just want to let you know that there are three methods that you can use to cheat on pcsx2. And that three methods are:

PCSX2 0.9.4 the PS2 Emulator has been released

Please check Reaper-X PCSX2 SVN Compile / Build. In order to make things easier for you to download whenever i’ve compiled newer pcsx2 revision, i’ve put it on separate page :)

PCSX2 0.9.4 (the one and only PS2 emulator i’ve tested and works) has been released yesterday (based from my local time). In fact i just tested two games (Suikoden V, Metal Gear Solid) on this new pcsx2 release and it seems there’s some improvement from the previous version (though i think my current pc specs is still not enough to run games normally on pcsx2). And btw … i’m using Athlon64 X2 5200+ with 3GB PC5300 DDR2 RAM, and GeForce 8600GT

But as a side note, i haven’t tried to play around with all of the new settings yet, other than enabling the Multi Threaded GS Mode and Dual Core mode on the cpu setting

The first one is Suikoden V, i get around 20 to 30 FPS at the Intro part and between 25 to 30 while on ship at the beginning (most of the time it just sits between 25 to 30)

AIO (All in One) PS2 Tools

Just in case someone still looking for Cogswap, or many other PS2 Related Tools such as ExecFTP, PS2 Reality Media Player, etc … i’ve decided to upload my currently used PS2 Tools made by Stinky (it’s called Stinky’s All in One PS2 Tools) because the original page where i found these tools is no longer available

As a note, i’ve uploaded 2 version of this ps 2 tools. The first version is ISO Images that is ready to burn to those who prefer ready to use ISO Images, while the second version is the original Stinky’s AIO PS2 Tools (you’ll need to burn it manually, but you don’t need to worry there’s README file located inside the archive)

Download: AIO PS2 By Stinky

And if you’re wondering what tool / PS2 ELF Binary included in this All in One PS 2 Tools, here are the description for each tool copied from the Readme file :

PsExec save my day

Today i just finished installing Windows XP SP2 (and any other software) for my family computer which is mostly used for gaming (The Sims 2 with it’s expansion pack), transferring various files from her flash disk by my sister. I think it’s best for me to assign her username as limited user account to prevent or reducing damage from virus / spyware infection which is often found from her usb flashdisk after being used somewhere else

And as you can see, my sister love the sims 2 series very much. But inserting the sims 2 cd everytime she want to play of course quite disturbing, and no-cd crack for the sims 2 often cause more trouble (dunno about that now, but back then i tried using the no-cd crack for the sims 1 and i did not hear any background sound because of it)

Connecting PS2 to PC using TV Tuner

I’m back again after taking a break for about a week or so if i recall correctly :) .. and this time im going to post about connecting ps2 console to monitor using TV Card / TV Tuner Cards. And if you ask me, why i did not use other method to connect my ps2 console to my monitor using other peripheral such as VGA BOX or something like that ? .. the answer is simple, because the only thing i have is just a low quality tv tuner from PixelView (Prolink) named Prolink PlayTV HD (it is an old tv cards and not many PVR program are support this tv tuner so if you decided to buy it, you might reconsider on choosing other card) but i also use my video card vivo capability

As a side note, i decided to connect my ps2 console into my pc monitor because my pc monitor is larger than my tv size :( .. other than that, my old tv can only support Mono Audio not stereo audio which is a big disadvantage for all music games such as Guitar Hero, Drum Mania, Guitar Freaks, etc. But the downside of this method is, you’ll need to turn on your computer whenever you want to play your ps2 (but it can be easily switched just in case you do not feel like turning on your computer)

Okay .. that’s all for the introduction, and now here’s what you’ll need in order to connect your ps2 output to your monitor :

Choosing the correct PS2 Cheat Devices

Actually i decided to write this because one of the commenter here asked me why he can’t use codes on his Xploder cheat devices. Well .. although i haven’t tried xploder yet, i think that Xploder has a built in code format detection like ARMax, so you can’t just enter any random codes. So by creating this post i just want to give some more information to those who’s interested on buying a new cheat devices for their ps2 console

As a note, if you’re using a modchipped ps2 .. and you’re sure that you’re using a good modchip .. then you don’t have to worry about this stuff. Simply because you can use them all on your console ;) and that’s including playing imported game
