So a few months ago i bought myself an xbox 360 wireless adapter because i got tired of playing various games using standard wired keyboard (although i don’t play a lot so i often not plugged in the receiver into the usb port). And of course it works fine until today when i tried to plug it again into the usb port because recently i just changed my keyboard and mouse into using a wireless keyboard and mouse (Logitech MX5000 Keyboard and Logitech MX1000 Laser Mouse) that is using Bluetooth technology just like the xbox wireless receiver adapter. And the problem is the Xbox 360 wireless controller can’t be detected by the xbox wireless adapter although the xbox wireless adapter already listed on device manager
At first i thought probably there’s a frequency / signal interference somewhere because both of them are using bluetooth. But after a little bit searching around the net and found this topic at avsforum.com, one of the poster there says:
Nope! I use a Logitech Bluetooth keyboard and mouse. No interference problems.
Yesterday I just tested 3 free Desktop Search Tools (freeware not free trial) in order to make things easier for me to search for specific words located on many text files on my hard drive. But just in case you didn’t know what Desktop Search means, here are some descriptions about it taken from Wikipedia
Desktop search is the name for the field of search tools which search the contents of a user’s own computer files, rather than searching the Internet. These tools are designed to find information on the user’s PC, including web browser histories, e-mail archives, text documents, sound files, images and video.
Desktop search engines build and maintain an index database to achieve reasonable performance when searching several gigabytes of data. Indexing usually takes place when the computer is idle and most search applications can be set to suspend it if a portable computer is running on batteries, in order to save power.
Looking for a replacement to your current spam filtering system ? then i’d suggest you to try Defensio Spam Filtering Solution (free of course unless you get more than 50K comments per month)
Okay … i assume that you’ve installed another spam filtering system like Akismet, or Akismet in conjunction with Spam Karma that behave exactly like Defensio (a centralized spam filtering solution except for Spam Karma of course), so what’s the point to switch into another spam filtering solution if you ask me ?
So today i just upgrade my previously installed Winamp 5.35 into Winamp 5.5 and guess what ? i think the Winamp team has improved the Winamp skins considerably. Back then when Winamp 3 was launched it introduces us to their new skinning engine which was more powerful than the previous 2.x series, but the problem is … it take too many of your system resources which is not that great considering most people only use Winamp to listen to their favorite songs (even lots of my friends doesn’t really use Winamp 3 skins type anyway)
For the past few days i’ve seen various support topics at WordPress.org support forums and it’s all thanks to the new release of WordPress 2.3 that introduces new database schema changes (and that’s why most of the questions asked is related to the database error message)
While personally i do not have any problems when upgrading WordPress, but i thought it’d be best to share these tips especially to those who want the easiest way to upgrade their wordpress installation even when you’re going to upgrade to another major version (such as from 2.0 to 2.1, 2.2 to 2.3, etc)
And here are the tips :
What is your answer if someone ask you on which one is better for overall system performance, adding more RAM (physical memory) or get a new processor with higher clock speed ? and of course when someone saying this question to you, definitely he’s looking for a more general computer usage rather than just for specific usage
So recently i just upgraded the old Flashget 1.80 which is installed on my computer since few months ago (if i remembered it correctly) to the new Flashget 1.92. While i must agree the new Flashget 1.92 is giving a cleaner user interface compared to it’s previous version. But yesterday when i just finished downloading several files from various website using Flashget, i found out that the PPP Led Indicator on my adsl router keep blinking (which indicates there’s internet activity done from my computer) even though i’m not using my internet connection
2 Days ago i just received my new power supply from Corsair (HX520W) as a replacement part because my previous power supply (HEC Zephyr) died in less than 2 weeks after i bought it from some retail store (which is quite disappointing)
My first impression when i received this Corsair HX520W PSU was … WoW !!! i never seen something like this before. Because based on my previous experiences, all power supply i’ve used before doesn’t have a modular feature like this one from Corsair although Corsair HX520W only has three +12V rails while the HEC Zephyr has four +12V rails but in the end both power supply gives enough power to all my peripherals
So yesterday i just installed a fresh Windows XP SP2 into my HDD, because my previous Windows XP SP2 gives me a lot of problem. Beside i think this is the best thing to do because i have changed my computer hardware completely (new chipset, new vga, processor, etc). And i’m sure that problem was caused because the previous driver installed for my old motherboard / chipset, etc is still left in that previous windows installation
And after finished reinstalling windows, device driver, and any other important program … of course i need to create ghost image from the first partition using Norton Ghost 2003 (using Ghost 2003 DOS executable only because i do not like to install the Windows version) … but what happens next ?
