The Automatic Updates dialog box in the Control Panel can be set to prevent updates from being installed automatically. However, with Microsoft's latest stealth move, updates to the WU executables seem to be installed regardless of the settings without notifying users.

I’ve tried checking several files listed from their website (wuauclt.exe, wuapi.dll, etc) and i didn’t see anything changed on my Windows XP box, but i’m pretty sure that’s because i haven’t updated my Windows XP SP2 Machine in the last few months

If a system has been patched in the past few months, the nine executables in Windows\System32 will either show an earlier version number, 7.0.6000.374, or the stealth patch: 7.0.6000.381

I guess it’s better for me to stick with Slipstreamed XP CD after all even though my slipstreamed xp cd is still using the old version of RyanVM XP-SP2 Update Pack

Copyright www.reaper-x.com | Google Adsense has new beta referrals program by Reaper-X

Most of you already know about adsense which is based on pay-per-click, but now Google Adsense add new referrals program for the adsense publisher which is based on pay-per-action program. Here’s the short description about this new Google Referrals program from the Google Adsense blog :

As with our current Google referrals, you'll generate earnings when your visitors click through to an advertiser's site and complete an action defined by your advertisers, such as a sale or sign-up. Because these actions are often more involved than a simple click or impression, advertisers pay more for these referrals, which can translate into higher earnings for your site

As you can see that this new program is just like the old pay-per-click type, with an addition that your site visitors must complete an action defined by the advertisers first

Unfortunately this beta program only open for specific publishers only (i'm pretty sure that most of the new publishers that is getting accepted with this beta program are large publishers only / or those who’s having large site)

But just in case you’re interested on trying the new referrals beta program, you can sign up from here

Devil May Cry 4 is no longer a PlayStation 3 exclusive. The latest installment in Dante's adventures has joined the list of titles that will no longer be limited to Sony's new console, which launches in the UK on Friday. Like Devil May Cry 3, the Capcom game will be released on the PC as well. It will also ship for the Xbox 360 at the same time as the PS3 version, marking the first time a DMC game has been released on a Microsoft console

Capcom said in a statement that Devil May Cry 4 "will take advantage of each platform's hardware strengths." The company added that the move was made to "to help enhance profits". No specific release date was given for any version of the game, which is still unrated – Full Story

Although it’s great to know that DMC are going to be available for pc, but what are the minimum requirements for the pc version ?

ICANN today issued a formal notice of termination of RegisterFly.com's Registration Accreditation Agreement (RAA).

ICANN has issued a letter to RegisterFly indicating that it will cease operating as an ICANN Accredited Registrar on March 31, 2007. Under the terms of the Registrar Accreditation Agreement (RAA), ICANN must provide 15 days written notice to RegisterFly of its intention to terminate.

Effective immediately ICANN has terminated RegisterFly's right to use the ICANN Accredited Registrar logo on its website.

Between now and 31 March RegisterFly is required to unlock and provide all necessary Authinfo codes to allow domain name transfers to occur. Any and all registrants wishing to transfer away from RegisterFly during this period should be allowed to do so efficiently and expeditiously – via ICANN
