I’m pretty sure some of you already knew that this might be happen sooner or later, and so i think it’s best for me to write a new post explaining about this. Well it has been almost two years since the first time ever i created a Repack for World of Warcraft based on Mangos, and as many people said All good things (or bad things if you define my repacks are bad) eventually come to an end. And so in this post i want to announce that there’ll be no more repacks made by myself. Although i’m pretty sure you have noticed that too, because the last repack that is made by myself directly is the old Reaper Mangos 5472 for WoW 2.3.3 that is released more than one year ago, and since then all the repacks are made by Oatman, Colt45, Darkened Linux and Erytheia

Ever since i’ve created my first repack (well i don’t know about what repack is back then when i first created a repack and so this part deserved a new paragraph), i’ve met with many wonderful people, intelligent people that helped others to create their own wow server by helping them directly (via remote access perhaps) or by simply leaving comments here. And so in this post i want to thank you all for helping me answering all kind questions posted by various commenters

As i said before, back then when i started creating repack, i don’t know those thing called repack, and that is simply because back then when i created my first post on how to set up your own wow private server using Mangos and judging from the questions asked there, it seems some people still find that guide is difficult for them and so i created another guide and this time i included images to make things easier to read, and also separated it into four posts (Part One – Installing MySQL, Part Two – Configuring Mangos, Part Three – Configuring Mangos for LAN, Part Four – Setting up Apache Webserver) but still some people confused on how those server related things work, and so i decided to help them directly by connecting to them via Remote Desktop / Remote Assistance to configure everything directly free of charge. But because that is just too much time consuming and so i decided to create a simple Batch file to make installing and updating a little bit easier and that’s also mark as my first repack release based on Mangos, called Reaper Mangos 4488. And that’s how this repack thing started (i hope i don’t bored you with my repack history lol)

And so … once again i want to thank you all the site visitors for leaving comments, using my repacks and other repacks, and also helping others to set up their own World of Warcraft Private server. And also special thanks to Oatman, Colt45, Darkened Linux and Erytheia for their repacks. And also to everyone at Mangos Project and also TrinityCore for making such wonderful emulator despite they don’t want it to be called emulator and also Unified Database Forums for the database and also Scriptdev2 for their script :)

And once again, as i said before, that by posting this, that means there’ll be no repacks coming from me (made by me), but of course i’ll accept any kind of repacks you’ve made to be posted and promoted here with full credits (obviously i’ll check them first to make sure it’s virus free). And no www.reaper-x.com is not dead, i’ll still continue writing posts about anything else but there’ll be no more post about repack coming from me ;)

As a bonus, for the next few posts, perhaps i’ll create a guide on how to setup Mangos and or Trinity Core manually by yourself :)

Erytheia is kind enough to inform me that he has made a new repack that can be used for WoW 3.1.3 and also support updating from the last Darkened Linux Trinity Core V2 release, and because he has made an excellent release i’ve decided to post his repack into the main page. (the original post can be found at forums). And so full credits should be given to Erytheia for his wonderful repack

And here are some information about Erytheia Trinity Core Repack V1:

Trinity Core:

TrinityCore2 REV 4194 (See changelog.txt because there are too many changes to be listed here)

Trinity DB:

TDB Rev 17

Lots of 3.1.x related template changes and additions for items, gameobjects, creatures …

Redone loots for creatures 0-200 and 1000-1700

NPC stats changed for new system

Data for new item_required_target-table

Updates from SD2 rev 1141 and ACID rev30

Fixes from forums, thanks to all contributors!

Framework:

Combine all Batch-Files to a big control.bat – read Readme for infos

New registration page!

ClientTools in the Registration Page – easy downgrade to 3.0.1 and connect to server.

Redirect of launcher-page and login-info of wow. Launcher can update to the supported version (3.1.3). When you want this, you must configurate apache (see tools\httpd-xampp.conf for an example). For XAMPP-User – this will be done automatic!

And the user must download the “ClientTools” (windows only) and extract the file in the wow-client-directory. The he must simple start “run_<servername>.exe” and he is connected to your realm.

Homepage:

With a registration page, login-area, Re-Customization, Players Online, Player Map, Item-Arsenal, Player-Arsenal, Download of the client (thanks to wow-europe, which allow this), Ticket-System (for GMs), Teleport Players to home (for GM), See Accountinfos (for GM), Remote-Access-”Console” (for GM), client tools (allows simple connection to the server, activate support for launcher redirect in the client) and much more!

Note: The homepage is under devolopment. I need testdata for adding future things (like Arena-Team-List).
Items with dynamic stats are don’t displayed (I don’t have engouth information). In player-arsenal reputation and items are missing.

ControlServer:

This little tool allows more than one user access the remote-access of the trinity realm. You can also access the “control.bat” to remote control the complete server (some functions are locked for remote access!). On the homepage login with an account with GM-Level 3 and select remote-access.

For an alternative you can use putty, by choosing raw connection.

And because Port 6832 is used, you should route this port.

Important: In order to use this. Remote Access in trinitycore.conf must be activated (port 3443, locked to 127.0.0.1)

Known Problems:

Some “spell xyz listed in spell_proc_event probally not triggered spell” – ignore them.

Readme is a little bit outdated.

Documentation of the homepage is missing.

Ulduar is empty.

And finally here are the Instructions and download link:

Download Link:

Mirror #1: Filebeam | 14.31 MB

If you are updating from Darkened Linux Trinity Core Repack for WoW 3.0.9 V2:

1. Backup your data first!

2. Simple run control.bat and choose “Update from Darkened Linux Trinity Core Repack for WoW 3.0.9 V2″. Follow the instruction on screen. And of course you will need a WoW 3.1.3 Client because some datas must be extracted (will take about one hour).

3. Because of a Bug in Darkened Linux trinity Core Repack for wow 3.0.9 the first two characters wich anyone are creating are lost. So first you should create two “dummy-chararacters” befor3 you go live!

New Installation:

1. Make sure you have WOW 3.1.3 Client for extracting datas!

2. Extract the archive / trinity core release you just downloaded

3. Run control.bat. When you don’t have a mysql installed, select “Install XAMPP”. Or if you prefer to install MySQL, Apache and PHP manually (XAMPP is Automatic method) you can read it from my previous post about MySQL installation, Apache with PHP Installation

4. Now select “Install Trinity”. Follow the instructions given on screen.

Important Notes:

World-Database must be recreated/rebuild – save your Custom-Content before!

This release support 3.1.3 Client. You must recreate your DBC, MAPS und VMAPS! The Database is TDB17 (UDB381), which is a “bugfix”-release for 3.1.3. In this release Ulduar is empty!

The word is out! Trinity is dropping their Database and they are also shutting down their forum all for one reason, more people working on one Database. Trinity is dropping their DB for a UDB (Unified Database). This is because they are join forces and create one super database that can be used for Trinity or MaNGOS. Ya big shock to everyone. The developers told us it would be for the better of the community. When you look at it, it seems like a big jump, but it can only get better from hear. The two different teams joining together to creating one database, the time for update will be so fast with more people working on one DB. What does this mean? A new repack! This new repack will run off a Trinity Core 2 with a UDB Database. It will still be 3.0.9 but better, a lot better. This is not an upgrade because of the new DB. We strongly subject you backing up you old DB and manual delete your old DB before installing this repack.

As stated a few days ago on my twitter page, Darkened Linux has made a new Trinity Core repack for WoW 3.0.9 which is of course for WoW 3.0.9 only, so if you have patched your WoW installation, you need to perform a roll back in order to use this

A detailed explanation about this repack are listed below:

Trinity Core 2
Last Patch added 7777
Upgrades will be available for this pack soon, like 3.1.0.

Since there’s no upgrade function exist in order to upgrade from the last Trinity Core that was made by Oatman, by installing this you’ll lose all data on your previous Trinity Core installation, unless you choose to install it into different databases name

Darkened Linux also told me that he is currently working on making his next release to be upgradeable from Oatman’s release, so in the other words, if you choose to install this repack, make sure to install it into different databases name that the default databases name provided in the Batch Installer, while waiting for him to create an upgradeable version from the last Trinitycore repack release by Oatman

Requirements

1. You need to have MySQL Installed (how to Install MySQL)
2. World of Warcraft Client version 3.0.9 as stated earlier
3. DBC’s , VMAPS and MAPS Need to be Updated for 3.0.9 (use the vmaps, and dbc extractor included in the repack)
4. .NET FrameWork 3.5 SP1

And finally if you have all of the above installed and configured here’s the download link for the repack:

– Mirror 1: Rapidshare
– Mirror 2: Megaupload
– Mirror 3: Filebeam

How to Install:

Please check the Reaper Trinity Installation

or a much simplified version:

1. Use the Extractors to extract the VMaps and DBC files from your World of Warcraft installation directory

2. Copy the extracted folders into Trinity Core’s folder

3. Use the Reaper-x installer to install the database

4. Edit TrinityCore.conf and TrinityRealm.conf to your liking (but make sure the databases name match the databases name used when installing via the batch file)

p.s. There is no need to edit Reaper-X installer as seen in the installing guide above.

All credits should be given to Darkened Linux for making this repack, and of course to everyone who are involved in Trinity Core development

Trinity Core Official Site – please note, Trinity Core website doesn’t support any repacks, so don’t ask any questions about repacks there

After months and months without updates I finally decided to get my lazy butt down onto the chair so that I could begin to publish you guys a really nice and well thoughtout repack. This repack, has over 13,000 new features/additions since our last Reaper-X Update. Yes I know this is a 2.4.3 release, but its so stable I just had to release it! We have moved from MaNGOS to Trinity. Trinity is a core that is based off of MaNGOS and still is in sync with MaNGOS. I chose Trinity because there is a little more things fixed in Trinity than in MaNGOS. Also from the start of this revision, will be our official supported release. Meaning that we will provide updates from this revision to the future. So you guys will be able to upgrade your server without losing your character data! We will also even provide support and upgrade your characters when WotLK gets released for 3.0.8! So you can use this 2.4.3 release and whenever we update to 3.0.8 all your characters will be upgraded successfully! :D

Also, alot of the batch file was reprogrammed to make it better than ever!

Well its finally here! Sorry that it took me about two months to finally get around to making it but our first Wrath of the Lich King Server is now here and supports Revision: 8788 of the WotLK Beta Client! This release operates on top of the MaNGOS Kernel using the UDB Database. With about 3,585 lines of code added into the MaNGOS Core Wrath of the Lich King is now officially supported into the Reaper-X Family and Discussion Board!

Installation Instruction:

1. Run Oatmans’ WotLK Installer.bat from Oatman’s WotLK Database directory and continue with the installation until finished
2. Edit Mangosd.conf and Realmd.conf especially at below parts to point to the correct database name using your mysql password and username:

Note:

– Replace wotlk_usr to your mysql username
– Replace mangos to your mysql password
– Replace wotlk_realmd, wotlk_world, wotlk_characters to point to the correct database name that is used on the installation process
– Replace Datadir to the full path of your extracted DBC files and maps files from WOTLK (if you put the dbc directory and maps in the same directory of mangos, then there’s no need for you to change it)

Mangosd.conf

LoginDatabaseInfo     = “127.0.0.1;3306;wotlk_usr;mangos;wotlk_realmd”
WorldDatabaseInfo     = “127.0.0.1;3306;wotlk_usr;mangos;wotlk_world”
CharacterDatabaseInfo = “127.0.0.1;3306;wotlk_usr;mangos;wotlk_characters”

DataDir = “.”

Realmd.conf

LoginDatabaseInfo = “127.0.0.1;3306;wotlk_usr;mangos;wotlk_realmd”

Other Notes (thanks to LoLz Guy):

#1 To run mangos.exe you have to edit mangos.conf and delete some spaces (if there are too many) or other things that dont fit there…

#2 To make your databases work you have to use a mysql gui program (like navicat or sqlyog) and execute batch files to characters and realmd tabs.

#3 To make a Death Knight you have to manually edit the database (using navicat sqlyog or sometjing like that) and in the realmd in account table change your accounts “tbc” thingie from 0 to 2 or from 1 to 2 (I couldn’t do it in mangos.exe commands, as it was blocked or something).

BTW the Death Knight class starts at the race start place, has no abilities, and there is NO WOTLK CONTENT AT ALL…

Important Note from Oatman:

Currently this repack doesn’t have any NPC’s on Northrend although he (Oatman) said that he’ll add NPC’s later on the next revision (Revision 2) and probably some other things as well :) … and as he said before on the comment area, he is currently busy with various things as well and so he sent me the download link yesterday via email

SET UP:

Step 1: Install MySQL using the guide here >>> (MySQL Installation and Configuration)

NOTE: You can get either MySQL 5.0 or 5.1 (It does NOT matter).

Step 2: Download Reaper-X UR1 "Arcane-Fire" (below are list of mirror to file). File have been compressed! These have been updated with UDB Fix 1!

1. No Download

2. No Download

3. No Download

GM COMMAND LIST:

Updated GM Command List for this version

Fresh Install:
Important Note : Fresh installation will overwrite your database!!!

Pictures in this guide have NOT been updated (sorry again)!!!

1. Make sure you have MySQL (5.0 or 5.1) installed and configured correctly on your computer.

2. Extracting Maps, DBC and VMaps from your World of Warcraft installation

YOU NEED TO EXTRACT FOR 2.4.3!!!

3. Run the Arcane-Fire.bat inside the Fresh Install folder, and you’ll see something like below image for an example, and then you just need to write the full path to your mysql installation directory (where mysql.exe and mysqldump.exe can be found)

4. Selection Option 1 by pressing “1&Prime on the keyboard and pressing enter.
Note: This will wipe out any previous versions of WoW you have in your database.

6. After finished with all of the above process, all you have to do now is just open the realmlist.wtf file in your World of Warcraft installation directory (the default location can be found at C:\Program Files\World of Warcraft) using Notepad, Wordpad, or your favorite text editor and then …

Replace :

set realmlist us.logon.worldofwarcraft.com
set patchlist us.version.worldofwarcraft.com

With :

set realmlist 127.0.0.1

and then save it and close realmlist.wtf File.

7. Now you just need to run mangosd.exe and realmd.exe from your mangos directory and then the next step would be creating your own username with your desired password for your own WoW server account as shown on below image followed by typing setgm to give yourself a GM level account

By the way, if you can’t see what you should type inside the mangosd window from the above image, actually you just need to type :

create username password

to create the account

setgm username 1-3

to give yourself GM Access at certain level (3 is the highest level and should only be used on your account while normal player is 0)

8. Finally if you have Burning Crusade client installed and want to be able to create Burning Crusade specific character, all you have to do is just type:

setbc username 1

to enable burning crusade expansion for your account !

Upgrading from 6245 Release:

1. Make sure to RE-EXTRACT your DBC’s, Maps, and VMaps, because this release now supports 2.4.3!

2. Go into your WoW Reaper Server Directory, and open Reaper-X-MaNGOS.

3. Open the Folder called “Upgrade” and run Upgrade-2-UR1.bat.

4. Next type in the directory to the Bin Folder where your mysql.exe and mysqldump.exe files are located. (Default is C:\Program Files\MySQL\MySQL Server 5.0\bin)

5. Then make sure that you are upgrading from the latest previous version or else you WILL corrupt your database and possibly lose your character data.

Guide on how to Edit Mangos.Conf
Thanks for the Mangosd.conf edit guide Jeremy!

First off make sure that you have your MySQL running before doing anything.

You need to go back into the reaper folder and run the batch file called Arcane-Fire.bat, there is an option there to setup your LAN or IP for use, This new batch file does correctly setup your DB to the IP you enter in this batch file. Once you’ve done that, if you haven’t gone back in to edit the config files in your reaper folder mentioned above, you need to do that, there is a section in there with this.

# Data directory setting.
# Important: DataDir needs to be quoted, as it is a string which may
# contain space characters.
DataDir = “C:\Reaper-X\data”

This is an example of what it may look like. You need to change this to the path where you put your data folder with the maps, vmaps, and dbc’s.

Second, …

# Database connection settings for the world server.
# Default: hostname;port;username;password;database
# .;somenumber;username;password;database – use named pipes at Windows
# Named pipes: mySQL required adding “enable-named-pipe” to [mysqld] section my.ini
# .;/path/to/unix_socket;username;password;database – use Unix sockets at Unix/Linux
# Unix sockets: experimental, not tested
LoginDatabaseInfo = “127.0.0.1;3306;root;PASSWORD;realmd”
WorldDatabaseInfo = “127.0.0.1;3306;root;PASSWORD;mangos”
CharacterDatabaseInfo = “127.0.0.1;3306;root;PASSWORD;characters”

Above, you need to change the ROOT;PASSWORD to your root DB name, likey it’s just root, and YOUR database (DB) password (you should know this)

YOU DO NOT CHANGE THE IP’S!!! Here is a guide to make your server public! Public Setup Guide!

Next open scriptdev2.conf and realmd.conf and edit the info for them to connect to your database as well.

Hello everyone! Its Colt45! I am glad to announce that MaNGOS Rev 6245 has been release (finally)! I am terribly sorry to inform you that I do not have a list of new feature that have been added to this release, but I should have a complete one for the next release. So here is the guide:

THIS GUIDE HAS BEEN BASED OFF OF OATMAN’S LAST GUIDE, PLEASE GIVE THE CREDIT TO HIM FOR THE GUIDE!!!

Step 1: Install MySQL using the guide here >>> (MySQL Installation and Configuration)

NOTE: It does NOTmatter which verion of MySQL you get (either 5.0 or 5.1) as long as you do not get any older versions or beta versions!

Step 2: Update your DBC’s, VMAP’s, and MAPS for 2.4.2!

If you already have your DBC’s, Vmaps’s, and Maps from a previous release that uses client 2.4.2 then you DO NOT have to re-extract them. If not then you must follow the Readme.txt files located in the extraction folders.

Step 3: Download Reaper-X-MaNGOS (below are list of mirror to file).

Links updated to the recompressed version (19.49MB) that use 7zip self extracting archive instead of zip compressed file

2. Extracting Maps, DBC and VMaps from your World of Warcraft installation
Note: ad.exe included in this version will extract the dbc files and maps files, and so all you have to do is just put the ad.exe into your wow installation directory (for example, C:\program files\World of Warcraft) and run the ad.exe from there. But make sure to delete the maps and dbc directory if exist before running the ad.exe

3. Run the reaper-x-mangos.bat inside the reaper-x-mangos folder, and you’ll see something like below image for an example, and then you just need to write the full path to your mysql installation directory (where mysql.exe and mysqldump.exe can be found) ;)

MySQL Bin Image

4. Selection Option 1 by pressing “1&Prime on the keyboard and pressing enter.
Note: This will wipe out any previous versions of WoW you have in your database.

MaNGOS Batch Menu Image

Mangos.exe Image

By the way, if you can’t see what you should type inside the mangosd window from the above image, actually you just need to type :

create username password

to create the account

setgm username 1-3

to give yourself GM Access at certain level (3 is the highest level and should only be used on your account while normal player is 0)

8. Finally if you have Burning Crusade client installed and want to be able to create Burning Crusade specific character, all you have to do is just type :

setbc username 1

to enable burning crusade expansion for your account :)

Upgrading from 5953 Release:

1. This release still supports your 2.4.2 DBC’s, Maps, and Vmaps, so if you want to re-extract you may but I dont think there is much need.

2. Go into your WoW Reaper Server Directory, and open reaper-eazy-mangos.

3. Open the Folder called “Upgrade” and run Reaper-X-Upgrade.bat.

Update Batch Image

Guide on how to Edit Mangos.Conf
Thanks for the Mangosd.conf edit guide Jeremy!

First off make sure that you have your MySQL running before doing anything.

You need to go back into the reaper folder (C:\Reaper-X-Easy-MaNGOS\reaper-eazy-mangos)
And run the batch file called reaper-x-mangos, there is an option there to setup your LAN or IP for use, This new batch file does correctly setup your DB to the IP you enter in this batch file. Once you’ve done that, if you haven’t gone back in to edit the config files in your reaper folder mentioned above, you need to do that, there is a section in there with this.

# Data directory setting.
# Important: DataDir needs to be quoted, as it is a string which may
# contain space characters.
DataDir = “C:\Reaper-X\data”

In this release your DataDir is pre-set to C:\Reaper_MaNGOS_6245_SD2_474\Data which means that if you extract the folder directly to your C Drive then you will not need to configure your DataDir, but you will still need to set your ROOT and PASSWORDS as shown below!

LoginDatabaseInfo = “127.0.0.1;3306;ROOT;PASSWORD;realmd”
WorldDatabaseInfo = “127.0.0.1;3306;ROOT;PASSWORD;mangos”
CharacterDatabaseInfo = “127.0.0.1;3306;ROOT;PASSWORD;characters”

Above, you need to change the MANGOS;MANGOS to your root DB name, likey it’s just root, and YOUR database (DB) password (you should know this)

YOU DO NOT CHANGE THE IP’S here or in the realmd file, ONLY THROUGH THAT BATCH FILE, i mentioned above. (that file does it for you)

Next open scriptdev2.conf and realmd.conf and edit the info for them to connect to your database as well.

I think most of you who are running Linux as the operating system already know that you can set up a caching nameserver on your home computer in order to speed up dns queries. But what if you’re on Windows and want to achieve the same thing (cache dns request)? Well thanks to BIND port for Windows, now you can also set up your own DNS Server on Windows easily (although in my case because my ISP DNS Server often down and running CentOS inside Virtual Machine just for this purpose isn’t all that useful considering there’s already a port of BIND / Named for Windows).

And to make things short, let’s get straight to the point ;)

1. First you’ll need to grab Bind from the ISC homepage (grab the Windows version of course), and at the time i wrote this, the latest Bind / Named version is 9.5.0–P1

2. When you’ve finished downloading BIND, now just you need to extract it somewhere on your harddrive and then followed by running BINDInstall.exe to install BIND. But first as a note, in this example i choose to Install BIND into C:\BIND

3. After the installation process finished, you’ll need to set up an environment variable path first to make it easier for you to call various BIND tools from any directory inside the command prompt. To do this you just need to go into Control Panel -> System -> Advanced -> Environment Variable. And then add / edit PATH to your BIND\bin directory … and based from this example the BIND\bin directory would be C:\BIND\bin

4. Now you need to create two folders / directories inside your BIND directory, let’s called it log (the end result would be C:\BIND\log) and zone (C:\BIND\zone)

5. Now to set up caching nameserver on windows using bind (so you can start the BIND service), you need to create a filename inside the etc directory under BIND directory called named.conf and then write these lines into the named.conf

options {
directory "c:\bind\zone";
allow-query { localhost; };
forwarders { XXXXXX; XXXXXX; };
forward only; query-source address * port 53;
};
logging {
channel queries_log {
file "c:\bind\log\queries.log";
print-severity yes;
print-time yes;
};
category queries { queries_log ; };
};
zone "localhost." IN {
type master;
file "localhost.zone";
allow-update { none; };
};
zone "0.0.127.in-addr.arpa." IN {
type master;
file "localhost.rev";
allow-update { none; };
};
include "c:\bind\etc\rndc.key";

Note: Change XXXX into your ISP DNS Server, and also i put a logging for every request made but you can always turned off the logging feature if you want

6. Now you need to create two files inside the zone directory (C:\Bind\Zone) called localhost.zone, and localhost.rev and then write these lines:

localhost.zone

$TTL    86400
@               IN SOA  @       root (
42              ; serial
3H              ; refresh
15M             ; retry
1W              ; expiry
1D )            ; minimum
IN NS           @
IN A            127.0.0.1
IN AAAA         ::1

localhost.rev

$TTL    86400
@       IN      SOA     localhost. root.localhost.  (
1997022700 ; Serial
28800      ; Refresh
14400      ; Retry
3600000    ; Expire
86400 )    ; Minimum
IN      NS      localhost.
1       IN      PTR     localhost.

7. Now you need to open the command prompt and type:

cd C:\BIND\bin
rndc-confgen -a

8. Now go into windows directory -> system32 -> drivers -> etc … and create a filename called resolv.conf and write this line into resolv.conf

nameserver 127.0.0.1

9. Now we need to start the BIND service first. To do this you just need to type services.msc from the RUN Command or you can also get into Windows services from Control Panel -> Administrative Tools -> Services … and then start the ISC BIND service

10. Since everything has been configured, the last step would be testing it of course, to do this you just need to go into the command prompt and type:

dig reaper-x.com

At the first time you’ll see something like this (note: result may vary)

Query time: 453 msec

Now type (again)

dig reaper-x.com

and if you get (or at least the query time gets reduced)

Query time: 0 msec

11. Finally you just need to change the preferred DNS Server in your connection into 127.0.0.1 and you’re done

That means you’ve configured your caching nameserver using BIND on windows to cache dns request, congrats :)

But wait, what if you want to flush your dns cache? .. in order to flush your dns cache, all you have to do is just execute this command in the command prompt

rndc flush

Well basically that’s all about it :)
