Other than that, this program can also produce colored ascii too

Anyway just in case you’re wondering how good this program, here’s a sample image (if Michael use Tifa from FF Advent Children as his sample, then i’m using Keiko Kitagawa as sample) :P

P.S Full credits to the person who took this photo (i can’t remember where i get this image and i’m 100% sure it’s not from Google Image search because i rarely use Google Image search)

Copyright www.reaper-x.com | BBPress 0.8.3 has been released by Reaper-X

Thanks God i subscribe to the BBPress site feed, because i’ll never know that BBPress 0.8.3 has been released if i'm not subscribed to their site feed

Okay and to those who didn’t know or never heard of BBPress before, basically BBPress is just another free forum software but unlike many other forum software, BBPress is just a plain and simple forum software (read: not bloated) … just like on Gamefaqs (with the exception they not using BBPress, but i love their simple interface, without any big avatars and signature)

Here’s some excerpt on what is BBPress all about :

bbPress is plain and simple forum software, plain and simple. It’s easy to use, easy to administrate, fast and clean. But don’t let its simplicity deceive you; underneath the gleam, it’s got some powerful features and is highly customizable.

And to those who prefer to see what a bbpress forum looks like in real world, feel free to take a look at my forums which is just recently got upgraded to 0.8.3 without any problem at all … (perhaps i should use SVN at the first place to make things even easier)

I just compiled another Mangos revision and this time it is using Mangos SVN Revision 4488 with ScriptDev2 revision 134 (it’s clean compile without any other patch). As a note, i only tested on my own computer using World of Warcraft The Burning Crusade 2.1.3 enUS client, so if you’re using other client version i don’t know if it’s going to work or not with your wow tbc

The first file is to those who’s already have Mangos database installed and already configured, and don’t want to start all over again (i assume you already know on how to upgrade your mangos database) :) … so all you have to do is just importing the mangos core updates and the scriptdev2 sql into your database and you’re finished

Update : I just released the new Mangos 4505 with Scriptdev2 R136, so try using the new version instead :)

<strike>#1 – Mangos R4488 with ScriptDev2 R134 (DBC Extractor, VMaps Extractor and Map Extractor Included) (2.14MB)</strike>

While the second file, is to those who’s just want a fresh start or want to create their own private wow server for the first time (i know the pain of using slow internet connection to download large file). The only differences between this version with the above version is, this version include the Project Silvermoon Database Revision 17 (and all the necessary sql update already included too). So without further ado here are the steps :

<strike>#2 – Mangos R4488 with ScriptDev2 R134 and Full Database Dump (DBC Extractor, VMaps Extractor and Map Extractor Included) (9.98MB)</strike>

Update : To those who’s having problem on extracting the DBC files, i just uploaded mine (WoW-TBC-2.1.3–enUS DBC 2.85MB) … btw because i’m using the enUS client i’m not to sure if it’s going to with other region version, but it’s not hurt to try, right ?

Note : I assume you’ve configured and installed MySQL properly, if you want to know how to install MySQL, refer to my previous post about MySQL installation Guide for Windows

Note 2 : Adjust your World of Warcraft Game installation path accordingly

1. Extract the rar archive somewhere, for example C:\Mangos

2. Open Command Prompt

3. Execute these commands (must be in order) :

cd C:\Mangos\reaper-eazy-mangos

mysql -u root -p -v < drop_mysql.sql

mysql -u root -p -v < create_mysql.sql

mysql -u root -p -v -D realmd < realmd.sql

mysql -u root -p -v -D mangos < rx-mangos-4488-silvermoon17-scriptdev134.sql

4. Copy the ad.exe from MapExtractor Directory into C:\Program Files\World of Warcraft

5. Create new folder called maps, and then run the ad.exe … and wait until this process finished (don’t interrupt it)

6. Copy all files inside VmapExtractAssembler into C:\Program Files\World of Warcraft and run the makevmaps_SIMPLE.bat … and wait again until it finished

7. Copy all files inside DBC Extractor into C:\Program Files\World of Warcraft\Data\enUS … and run the extract.bat … and wait until it finished

8. Move vmaps, maps, and dbc folder from your World of Warcraft installation path into C:\Mangos\data (create folder named data first)

9. Open Mangosd.conf using Wordpad … and then find this line :

DataDir = "@prefix@/share/mangos"

Change it to :

"C:\Mangos\data"

10. Open realmlist.wtf file from C:\Program Files\World of Warcraft using Notepad and change the :

set realmlist us.logon.worldofwarcraft.com

into

set realmlist 127.0.0.1

11. Run Mangosd.exe and Realmd.exe …

12. At the Mangosd window type these :

create myusername mypassword

setgm myusername 3

13. Run World of Warcraft … and then login using myusername as username, and mypassword as password

14. Done …

As a side note, if there’re many people downloading this … perhaps i’m going to simplify the steps in the future by creating batch file :)

And to those who prefer to see a detailed guide with images, feel free to look at my previous post about Creating WoW Private Server … enjoy ;)

And here's for the list of Mangos GM Commands

P.S If i’m missing something just let me know about it

And just like it’s previous release, this new version fixed several issue to some of the supported protocols in pidgin, while also adding a new protocol plugin for MySpaceIM (which is still unknown to me, simply because i don’t use MySpace)

Some changelogs from this version are :

New protocol plugin: MySpaceIM

Some adjustments to fix sending messages when using the MSN HTTP method

Yahoo! Chat is fixed

AIM file transfer issues between Pidgin and other clients have been fixed

Properly restore idle status and time for AIM and ICQ accounts when they reconnect after being disconnected

Remember the 'Enable Sounds' setting for a conversation

To be honest, actually i'm only using the MSN and YM protocol simply because most of my friends here use YM as their IM client while the MSN account is mostly used to chat with other people from outside of my country

But, just in case you’re looking for a replacement for your YM or MSN program, i’d definitely recommend this program especially to those who’s running more than 2 IM program at the same time

Copyright www.reaper-x.com | Using WGet on Windows by Reaper-X

Just in case you’re like me that can't trust free download manager anymore or just want a little program that can resume your download at later time and doesn’t use many resources .. i’d suggest you to use WGet for Windows (if you’re a Linux user i believe WGet already installed on your machine)

To start off there are few links to where you can grab WGet for Windows (feel free to choose)

Christopher Lewis Wget Page

GNUWin32 Wget Package

Bpuype Wget File

Although if it’s for me, i just grab the Christopher’s Visual Studio Project file combined with Wget from it’s SVN repository because i prefer to compile it by myself (to make few adjustment to the user agent so it’ll use Mozilla Firefox User agent by default and also other Mozilla Firefox Header), but let’s keep this aside shall we ? :P

Okay now, i assume you’ve downloaded your WGet files, and already extracted it somewhere in your harddrive. The next step would be, adding your WGet path into Windows Environment Variables Path, so you can access it easily from anywhere

Step to do it :

Open Windows System Properties page (Press Windows Key + Pause / Break) or Right click on my computer and choose properties

Choose the Advanced Tab and then click on Environment Variables

Add new Path Variable to your username or edit the Path variable for your system

Add this line like below image (adjust your wget path accordingly)

<img alt="Wget Environment Variables" src="http://www.reaper-x.com/images/blogs/wget-2dwindows.jpg" border="0" / />

And you’re done … now you can type Wget anywhere from the command prompt :)

But wait … if you’re using Mozilla Firefox, you can also use Wget to download something from the web, and in order to do this you just need to install FlashGot Extension for Firefox, and then add this line to the Flashgot command line arguments :

Quoted from Flashgot page :

-c [--directory-prefix=FOLDER] [--referer=REFERER] [--post-data=POST] [--load-cookies=CFILE] [--header=Cookie:COOKIE] [--input-file=UFILE]

And you’re finished :)

Well basically the above should be working fine with Firefox 2, but because Firefox 3 recently released to the public, i'm having problem with the Command Prompt window not showing although the wget process is running in the background (it’s listed on the task manager but the window can’t be seen)

And so if you’re running Firefox 3, you can try using these configurations instead of the above:

Executable Path:
C:\Windows\System32\cmd.exe

Command Line arguments template:
/C start wget -c [--directory-prefix=FOLDER] [--referer=REFERER] [--post-data=POST] [--load-cookies=CFILE] [--header=Cookie:COOKIE] [--input-file=UFILE]

And voila … you can see the downloading process again just like on Firefox 2 ;)

Firekeeper uses flexible rules similar to Snort ones to describe browser based attack attempts. Rules can also be used to effectively filter different kinds of unwanted content

Other features of Firekeeper :

Ability to scan incoming Firefox traffic - HTTP(S) response headers, body and URL and to cancel processing of suspicious responses

HTTPS and compressed responses are scanned after decryption/decompression

Very fast pattern matching algorithm (taken directly from Snort)

Interactive alerts that give an ability to choose a response to detected attack attempt

Ability to use any number of files with rules and to automatically load files from remote locations

As a note, the currently available Firekeeper release is still in Alpha stage, which main purpose is to get feedback from users about Firekeeper's functionality and to test if Firekeeper works well on various different systems. Currently Firekeeper support Linux based OS and Windows based OS

Copyright www.reaper-x.com | WXDownload Fast - Freeware Download Manager by Reaper-X

Just in case you’re searching for a new free download manager (i mean freeware of course) and can be used on multiple operating system. Maybe you should try WXDownload Fast (i'm sure that most of you never heard of this download manager before) .. and the truth is i'm using this download manager since this year (January 2007) after switching from other download manager although it is free too .. but let’s keep that aside shall we ?

Here are some of the most important features this Download Manager offer :

Segmented Download (up to 9 segment)

Scheduling Download

Bandwidth Limiting / Bandwidth Control

Manually enter referer url (normally you wont need this)

Progress Bar

and more but the most important thing for me is segmented download only

Personally i choose to switch into this free download manager because there’s no spyware, statistical tracking, sending anonymous usage data, etc in WXDownload Fast unlike some free download manager out there. But it is your decision thought ;)

As an addition, i’ve read someone saying that their CPU usage goes to 100% when they are using WXDownload on their system (link) but personally i’ve never had that problem ever since i'm using this program

And to those who still using the 2.0.x series. Version 2.0.9 includes security update to the previous Wordpress version to prevent XSS based attack. So you should upgrade to the new version as soon as possible

Other than that the bbPress also released the 0.8.1 version of their wonderful forums software today and contain small security update as well

Fortunately there is already a fix for this problem and you can do it by applying the latest patch from Wordpress Trac into the templates.php file in your wp-admin directory

As as a note, if you want to see a proof of concept regarding this wordpress issue, you can go to David Kierznowski homepage and see it by yourself

And yet another note, Wordpress 2.0.6 RC2 has been released (from the WP-Testers Mailing Lists) and this new release candidate already include a fix for this problem
