Oatmans’ Wrath of the Lich King Release! Revision:1

Well its finally here! Sorry that it took me about two months to finally get around to making it but our first Wrath of the Lich King Server is now here and supports Revision: 8788 of the WotLK Beta Client! This release operates on top of the MaNGOS Kernel using the UDB Database. With about 3,585 lines of code added into the MaNGOS Core Wrath of the Lich King is now officially supported into the Reaper-X Family and Discussion Board!

Installation Instruction:

1. Run Oatmans' WotLK Installer.bat from Oatman’s WotLK Database directory and continue with the installation until finished
2. Edit Mangosd.conf and Realmd.conf especially at below parts to point to the correct database name using your mysql password and username:

Note:

– Replace wotlk_usr to your mysql username
– Replace mangos to your mysql password
– Replace wotlk_realmd, wotlk_world, wotlk_characters to point to the correct database name that is used on the installation process
– Replace Datadir to the full path of your extracted DBC files and maps files from WOTLK (if you put the dbc directory and maps in the same directory of mangos, then there’s no need for you to change it)

Other Notes (thanks to LoLz Guy):

#1 To run mangos.exe you have to edit mangos.conf and delete some spaces (if there are too many) or other things that dont fit there...

#2 To make your databases work you have to use a mysql gui program (like navicat or sqlyog) and execute batch files to characters and realmd tabs.

#3 To make a Death Knight you have to manually edit the database (using navicat sqlyog or sometjing like that) and in the realmd in account table change your accounts "tbc" thingie from 0 to 2 or from 1 to 2 (I couldn't do it in mangos.exe commands, as it was blocked or something).

BTW the Death Knight class starts at the race start place, has no abilities, and there is NO WOTLK CONTENT AT ALL...

Important Note from Oatman:

Currently this repack doesn’t have any NPC's on Northrend although he (Oatman) said that he’ll add NPC’s later on the next revision (Revision 2) and probably some other things as well :) … and as he said before on the comment area, he is currently busy with various things as well and so he sent me the download link yesterday via email

UR1 is also a raw copy and if you look below you will find that we will be adding updates as we go (make sure that when you apply updates, you apply them in order as listed)! A changelog and what revs Arcane-Fire are also below uses!

1. Make sure you have MySQL (5.0 or 5.1) installed and configured correctly on your computer.

2. Extracting Maps, DBC and VMaps from your World of Warcraft installation

YOU NEED TO EXTRACT FOR 2.4.3!!!

3. Run the Arcane-Fire.bat inside the Fresh Install folder, and you’ll see something like below image for an example, and then you just need to write the full path to your mysql installation directory (where mysql.exe and mysqldump.exe can be found)

4. Selection Option 1 by pressing “1&Prime on the keyboard and pressing enter.
Note: This will wipe out any previous versions of WoW you have in your database.

6. After finished with all of the above process, all you have to do now is just open the realmlist.wtf file in your World of Warcraft installation directory (the default location can be found at C:\Program Files\World of Warcraft) using Notepad, Wordpad, or your favorite text editor and then …

Replace :

set realmlist us.logon.worldofwarcraft.com
set patchlist us.version.worldofwarcraft.com

With :

set realmlist 127.0.0.1

and then save it and close realmlist.wtf File.

7. Now you just need to run mangosd.exe and realmd.exe from your mangos directory and then the next step would be creating your own username with your desired password for your own WoW server account as shown on below image followed by typing setgm to give yourself a GM level account

By the way, if you can’t see what you should type inside the mangosd window from the above image, actually you just need to type :

create username password

to create the account

setgm username 1-3

to give yourself GM Access at certain level (3 is the highest level and should only be used on your account while normal player is 0)

8. Finally if you have Burning Crusade client installed and want to be able to create Burning Crusade specific character, all you have to do is just type:

setbc username 1

to enable burning crusade expansion for your account !

Upgrading from 6245 Release:

1. Make sure to RE-EXTRACT your DBC's, Maps, and VMaps, because this release now supports 2.4.3!

2. Go into your WoW Reaper Server Directory, and open Reaper-X-MaNGOS.

3. Open the Folder called “Upgrade” and run Upgrade-2-UR1.bat.

4. Next type in the directory to the Bin Folder where your mysql.exe and mysqldump.exe files are located. (Default is C:\Program Files\MySQL\MySQL Server 5.0\bin)

5. Then make sure that you are upgrading from the latest previous version or else you WILL corrupt your database and possibly lose your character data.

First off make sure that you have your MySQL running before doing anything.

You need to go back into the reaper folder and run the batch file called Arcane-Fire.bat, there is an option there to setup your LAN or IP for use, This new batch file does correctly setup your DB to the IP you enter in this batch file. Once you’ve done that, if you haven’t gone back in to edit the config files in your reaper folder mentioned above, you need to do that, there is a section in there with this.

This is an example of what it may look like. You need to change this to the path where you put your data folder with the maps, vmaps, and dbc’s.

Next open scriptdev2.conf and realmd.conf and edit the info for them to connect to your database as well.

Hello everyone! Its Colt45! I am glad to announce that MaNGOS Rev 6245 has been release (finally)! I am terribly sorry to inform you that I do not have a list of new feature that have been added to this release, but I should have a complete one for the next release. So here is the guide:

THIS GUIDE HAS BEEN BASED OFF OF OATMAN’S LAST GUIDE, PLEASE GIVE THE CREDIT TO HIM FOR THE GUIDE!!!

Step 1: Install MySQL using the guide here >>> (MySQL Installation and Configuration)

NOTE: It does NOTmatter which verion of MySQL you get (either 5.0 or 5.1) as long as you do not get any older versions or beta versions!

Reaper-X Wrath of the Lich King! Should Reaper-X.com Support It?

Hey Everyone,

This is Oatman here and I am wondering if the community would be interested on Wrath of the Lich King? I’ve done some research and I believe that under some work I could get a MaNGOS WotLK 3.0.1 Revision Released. So you all could try out the new Death Knight class and be able to explore the new continent of Northrend.

Yes this would take some work, but I’d be more than willing to work on a Reaper-X WotLK Beta MaNGOS Revision if enough of the community wants this to happen.

List of What Reaper-X WotLK Alpha Would Contain:

Full Support for Client 3.0.1 Beta.
Death Knight Support
Level to 80 with new armor.
3.0.1 Map Extractor
Northrend Teleporting Zones.

nForce 15.17 and GeForce 175.16 Driver has been released

Just when i thought that Nvidia aren’t going to release a new driver for nForce based motherboard chipset and for their Geforce 8600 GT (except for using their beta driver) … it seems i was wrong about that because today i just noticed that there’s a new nForce Driver 15.17 for my AMD nForce 590 SLI Chipset and also GeForce Driver 175.16 (although i have to admit i’ve been using this for a while since it’s still in beta stage)

The supported nForce chipsets for the new 15.17 Driver are from nForce4 based chipset until nForce7 based chip

While the 175.16 GeForce Driver supports GeForce product range from GeForce FX, 6, 7, 8, and 9 series GPUs including GeForce 9800 GX2, GeForce 9800 GTX, GeForce 9600 GT, GeForce 9600 GSO, GeForce 8300, GeForce 8200/ nForce 730a, GeForce 8100/NVIDIA nForce 720a

So if your current motherboard chipset is powered by Nvidia nForce and / or your VGA card is powered by GeForce series you should install this right away (make sure to uninstall your previous driver first thought or it’ll cause conflict) :)

Update:

I don’t know what Nvidia thinks when creating the WHQLed version of GeForce Driver 175.16 because the beta version is much better and that’s because the Beta Version (non WHQL-ed) version allows me to choose different resolutions when i choose to output the display into HDTV instead of just 480p, 576p, 720p, and 1080i as shown below (taken from the beta version of 175.16)

And in the end … i choose to roll back to the Beta Driver 175.16

DBC and Maps Extractor:

Just in case the included ad.exe (map extractor) and dbc extractor isn’t working for you (like you keep getting message about maps or dbc file is not compatible), you can try using this one:

DBC and Map Extractor (131KB)

That archive just contain only one file (ad.exe) … and all you have to do is just put it into your WoW installation directory (where wow.exe and launcher.exe can be found) … and delete maps and dbc folder there if exist and then run the new ad.exe … and it’ll extract the maps and dbc files automatically (the output will be in maps and dbc directory)

By the way, if you can’t see what you should type inside the mangosd window from the above image, actually you just need to type :

create username password

to create the account

setgm username 1-3

to give yourself GM Access at certain level (3 is the highest level and should only be used on your account while normal player is 0)

8. Finally if you have Burning Crusade client installed and want to be able to create Burning Crusade specific character, all you have to do is just type :

setbc username 1

to enable burning crusade expansion for your account :)

If you want to change the server name into something else, you can use the reaper-x-mangos.bat to adjust it :)

Upgrading from 5953 Release:

1. Re-extract vmaps, maps and dbc because this version no longer supports the old World of Warcraft 2.3.3 installation and only supports the new 2.4.2 (YOU MAY SKIP RE-EXTRACTING IF YOUR DBC’S, MAPS, AND VMAPS ARE ALREADY FROM A 2.4.2 CLIENT!)

2. Go into your WoW Reaper Server Directory, and open reaper-eazy-mangos. Next I recommend opening the batch file and backing up your character data. This is optional though.

3. Open the Folder called “Upgrade” and run reaper-x-upgrade.bat.

4. Next type in the directory to the Bin Folder where your mysql.exe and mysqldump.exe files are located.

5. Then make sure that you are upgrading from the latest previous version or else you WILL corrupt your database and possibly lose your character data.

First off make sure that you have your MySQL running before doing anything.

Above, you need to change the MANGO;MANGOS to your root DB name, likey it’s just root, and YOUR batabase (DB) password (you should know this)

YOU DO NOT CHANGE THE IP’S here or in the realmd file, ONLY THROUGH THAT BATCH FILE, i mentioned above. (that file does it for you)

Next open scriptdev2.conf and realmd.conf and edit the info for them to connect to your database as well.

PLEASE DO NOT USE THE FRESH INSTALL TOOL IT IS BROKEN IN THIS RELEASE. IF YOU WANT TO BE ABLE TO USE THIS RELEASE DOWNLOAD THE 5472 RELEASE AND THEN USE THE UPGRADE TOOL IN THIS RELEASE. Well looks like its FINALLY TIME for another Reaper MaNGOS Release so that you all can get your servers updated with the latest features and to use the new 2.4.2 client. I spent a couple of hours getting this release ready and I think I finally have gotten it right.

Also as a Side-Note PSDB is NOT included in this release due to the fact that their organization at their site is horrible and they are unclear on how to upgrade from an older database. So you guys will have to get Reaper to tell me or a PSDB Dev to instruct me on how to upgrade or else you guys will not have a PSDB Database.

Don’t even ask! There is so many bug fixes/new features its not even funny. It would take me hours to type it all up because of how much has been added since the last release!

4. Selection Option 1 by pressing “1&Prime on the keyboard and pressing enter.
Note: This will wipe out any previous versions of WoW you have in your database.

Replace :

set realmlist us.logon.worldofwarcraft.com
set patchlist us.version.worldofwarcraft.com

With :

set realmlist 127.0.0.1

and then save it and close realmlist.wtf File.
