Darkened Linux Trinity Core Repack for World of Warcraft 3.0.9 V2

The word is out! Trinity is dropping their Database and they are also shutting down their forum all for one reason, more people working on one Database. Trinity is dropping their DB for a UDB (Unified Database). This is because they are join forces and create one super database that can be used for Trinity or MaNGOS. Ya big shock to everyone. The developers told us it would be for the better of the community. When you look at it, it seems like a big jump, but it can only get better from hear. The two different teams joining together to creating one database, the time for update will be so fast with more people working on one DB. What does this mean? A new repack! This new repack will run off a Trinity Core 2 with a UDB Database. It will still be 3.0.9 but better, a lot better. This is not an upgrade because of the new DB. We strongly subject you backing up you old DB and manual delete your old DB before installing this repack.
UDB Update Pack
- All outdoor areas in Northrend spawned, including new zone Stormwind Harbor
- Redo most of equipments
- All vendor’s and trainers redone
- Thousands of updates and additions for quests/creatures/items/gameobjects/similar
- And other basic 3.0.9 support
- Updates and additions for bounding_radius and equipments
- New npc_texts/gameobjects/items/page_texts…
- Many updates for npc_vendor.extendedcost
- Some 3.x related spawns to old world
- type_flags for creature_template
- Many npc_trainer updates
- Added many quests chains in new map
- Massive updates and additions for creature_model_info and creature_equip_template
- New npc_texts/gameobjects/items/page_texts and wdb-updates for old ones
- BonusTalents, RewMoneyMaxLevel and PlayersSlain data for quest_template
- Hundreds of emotes and text updates for quests
- Some immunities for tbc instances’ trash mobs
- Some data for spell_loot_template
- Spawned ~4000 new herbs/veins
- Updated skill_discovery_template
Thanks to Reaper for helping this repack happen. Also thanks for the extra hand helping us test the repack Spike and Erytheia. There is a custom pack you can install with the Reaper-X installer; full credit goes to Xion87 and his good job on the custom sql! All credit goes to the Trinity team and the UDB Team for the Core and DB.
Requirements
1. You need to have MySQL Installed (how to Install MySQL)
2. World of Warcraft Client version 3.0.9
3. DBC’s , VMAPS and MAPS Need to be Updated for 3.0.9 (use the vmaps, and dbc extractor included in the repack)
4. .NET FrameWork 3.5 SP1

You should use 172.0.0.1 as your ip. But if you are running it of a universitys network I dont know what it would do. I have never tryed it at school before. I will look into it, but use 172.0.0.1 as your ip.

I’m running it all on the same computer…but could it have anything to do with the fact that I use a fixed IP address to connect to the university network I am part of to use the internet etc?

In your Realmd Database, see what you have set your ip to. Are you running WOW of an other computer from where your are running your server? If do you will need to change your ip in the Realmd db.

Ok heres the deal, i can get the realm running, and then the trinity core scripts ready up and i make my account fine, so i log in, account works fine, but whenever I try to select the realm to log in to, it disconnects me every single time.
I’ve read a lot of other people having the same issue in earlier posts, and am wondering if anyone has any ideas???
Noticed I just screwed up one part, where it says
All you need to do is change the trinity;trinity to root

I’m looking into that at the moment, they did work but between the beta to public release transition something must have been bugged, I’m not 100% sure at the moment (was probably the database switch), as I’ve been sick I haven’t been able to do much.

Well in a nutshell (still not feeling well so bear with me and if I miss something somebody say so)
Ok first you’ll want to extract the Reaper-x Trinity 3.0. 9 [UDB] folder out of the downloaded file (just doubleclick it’s a self-extracting file if memory serves me right)
Now there’s going to be a folder in there called extractors, place ad.exe in the (may not be exact path but) C:\Program Files\World of Warcraft Folder and double click it, it will extract your dbc and maps folders I believe, this one doesn’t take too terribly long.
Then what you’re going to want to do is go one step further and put the following 5 files into your C:\Program Files\World of Warcraft\Data\enUS folder
They would be: make vmaps.bat, makevmaps_SIMPLE.bat, splitconfig.txt vmap_assembler and vmapextract_v2, after you move those 5 files run makevmaps_SIMPLE.bat, this may take a while (I think it took me around a half hour maybe?) So go make some lunch, dinner, go watch the first half of a movie, make some popcorn, go do something xD
What the makevmaps_SIMPLE will do is give you a folder called buildings and a folder called vmaps, now what you’ll want to do is take the maps, vmaps, and dbc folder and stick them in the Trinity Core Folder, then go to the install database folder and run Reaper-X Trinity [UDB] and follow procedure from there, I believe what you’re looking for is option 1, then after installing that why not install the custom shops for gmisland? But anyway, afterwards you’ll want to go into your trinitycore.conf file (open it with wordpad or notepad++ you’ll get a big mess if you open it with regular notepad.
You’ll want to edit these entries
LoginDatabaseInfo
WorldDatabaseInfo
CharacterDatabaseInfo
All you need to do is change the trinity;trinity to root;
Then just do the same thing to the LoginDatabaseInfo line in the trinityrealm.conf file and you should be done, if you get any errors after that let me know

Can anyone give me a step by step procedure on how to do this? I’ve been following the links provided but some of the information is outdated/doesn’t match the current version etc etc.

YE i also noticed that the teleports dont work. Mayby they will fix it or something. Dont know. But i would not advise u to go for DK. Its still Bugged alot.

Why are the .conf files organized like shit?
Strange, when at the DK starting place, I can’t use the teleporters or the undead gryphon things, otherwise this repack looks great. My friend had his character unable to move or look around, so I just deleted his account and made a new one, and worked fine

They made it like that. Its not bugged. Its not like bliz servers. You’l have to correct the spell costs and items if you want it like that.

Is it normal for the venders too sell everything for free and for the trainers too train you for free or is there something wrong with how the server installed on my computer? Just noticed this today as I started playing an actual character instead of messing around with my gm toon. There isn’t even a price listed on the items/abilities when I buy/learn them and the ammount of copper my toon has doesn’t change.

Ye i know they did work around it but stil… we get further with that mangos than with this trinity. Stil much more is spawned and much better for me…
thank you spike. I had already checked the files, everything was fine eventhough the error log shows that it stops when trying to connect to mysql. I have already checked everything I can think of and now I have resorted to deleting everything and starting over. I still had my old trinity files on my desktop. Could have had something to do with that. I’ll post if this solves my problem.

I’ve had a similar problem where when you would shut down something in the system will error and revert files to the way they were before you saved them, make sure that they have the correct name and password for the database in the lines you have to edit for world realmd and characters.

Yes I did try mangos thank you very much and when they just modify the script to completely pass a quest you can’t do instead of try to FIX IT that really doesn’t hold high in my book, at least we’re trying to fix what’s wrong with ours instead of find a way to work around it.

From what I’ve been able to tell the first and second characters on any account will not register correctly, and the first account you make will have no key bindings, so just make a dummy account first then the one you were planning on using.

It does that….. it has some errors in the beginning. Just delete those accounts again and create them again…. it should work then

Trinity is one big massive fail. and i just LOL at them for trying to be the “best” but they aren’t getting anything right…. LOL

U guys didnt even try Mangos…. The unworthy initiates may not be scripted but there are a whole lot more spawnd and a lot more that works…. Its SO MUCH BETTER THAN THIS PIECE OF SH*T.
Maybe I’m the only one, but I had this thing working earlier. I shut it down to go to work and now when I try to load the Trintycore.exe it just flashes up and dissappears. this is the same problem I was having earlier and I finaly fixed it but now this time again and I didn’t even do anything. Any suggestions?

@spike yeah I noticed that too on the .die command. You could do a .damage, or macro a .cast 33331 (murmur… insta death spell)

Oh yeah it works…more death knight quests are broke than in this one. The unworthy initiates aren’t even scripted….and…well, I think I’ve said enough.
…So in other words This mangos repack definitely not better than the trinity core repack, mangos repack = fail, if you don’t believe me try it out for yourself.
@Anyone having problems with the .die command
I’ve noticed this myself and I’m looking into it but the .die command does not register the kill to the player in terms of looting, a good alternative at this time would be .damage 10000000000 or some other insanely high number to instantly kill whatever you’re fighting.
Side note: If you find it tedious just make a macro for the command instead, it shouldn’t be too much of an issue. Until then I will be looking for a way to fix it.

yea I’ve noticed that problem too. You can use addons though and just equip whatever you want using “.additem (and then shift click what you want)”. I use atlasloot enhanced to just equip whatever i want as i’m leveling.

this is a community. we work together to better understand the repack and its flaws, and if there are solutions through gm commands to solve fixable problems. Don’t be rude and tell somebody else off because you feel self-righteous. we’re here to help one another out
ha, found out and yes you can edit it to give you talent points (among other things). So here’s what I did. Open navicat, go to the world DB, and open the quest_template. The quest I chose was “The Plaguebringer’s Request”. Quest ID 12716. It’s easier once you locate the quest in navi to switch to form view instead of grid view. Locate “Bonus Talents” and put in whatever you want (I did 45). Now you are ready to leave the DK area.
great work on this repack. Now I have a question. Using navicat, is there a way to edit quests? Not to create new ones, but say to edit what it gives you? Like instead of the quest giving you 1 gold, it will give you whatever you put in navicat (so like 100000g)? Just wondering because it would be a work around with the DK’s talent points. Instead of the quest only giving 1 talent point, have it give you 45 instead.

yes i know the command .die but when soloraidin with 2 istances boss and mobs absolutely drops nothing they even dont glow after i killed them

Also you can use .die becuase you will not beable to loot it> :( Just mod an item to kill things in one shot. :)
