Darkened Linux Trinity Core Repack v1 for WoW 3.0.9

As stated a few days ago on my twitter page, Darkened Linux has made a new Trinity Core repack for WoW 3.0.9 which is of course for WoW 3.0.9 only, so if you have patched your WoW installation, you need to perform a roll back in order to use this

A detailed explanation about this repack are listed below:

Trinity Core 2
Last Patch added 7777
Upgrades will be available for this pack soon, like 3.1.0.

Since there’s no upgrade function exist in order to upgrade from the last Trinity Core that was made by Oatman, by installing this you’ll lose all data on your previous Trinity Core installation, unless you choose to install it into different databases name

Darkened Linux also told me that he is currently working on making his next release to be upgradeable from Oatman’s release, so in the other words, if you choose to install this repack, make sure to install it into different databases name that the default databases name provided in the Batch Installer, while waiting for him to create an upgradeable version from the last Trinitycore repack release by Oatman

Screenshot

Requirements

1. You need to have MySQL Installed (how to Install MySQL)
2. World of Warcraft Client version 3.0.9 as stated earlier
3. DBC’s , VMAPS and MAPS Need to be Updated for 3.0.9 (use the vmaps, and dbc extractor included in the repack)
4. .NET FrameWork 3.5 SP1

And finally if you have all of the above installed and configured here’s the download link for the repack:

– Mirror 1: Rapidshare
– Mirror 2: Megaupload
– Mirror 3: Filebeam

How to Install:

Please check the Reaper Trinity Installation

or a much simplified version:

1. Use the Extractors to extract the VMaps and DBC files from your World of Warcraft installation directory

2. Copy the extracted folders into Trinity Core’s folder

3. Use the Reaper-x installer to install the database

4. Edit TrinityCore.conf and TrinityRealm.conf to your liking (but make sure the databases name match the databases name used when installing via the batch file)

p.s. There is no need to edit Reaper-X installer as seen in the installing guide above.

All credits should be given to Darkened Linux for making this repack, and of course to everyone who are involved in Trinity Core development

Trinity Core Official Siteplease note, Trinity Core website doesn’t support any repacks, so don’t ask any questions about repacks there

    @ Studog and Nobody Important,
Thanks guys, that helped a ton!

Well I just got my server running about an hour ago and tried it out. Honestly, I’m a little disappointed the dk starting area isn’t spawned. I look forward to the batch release that has it at least spawned, even if some quests are broken.
I also figured out that in order to get custom addons to work you have to create the Interface->Addons folder manually which is easy.
I also saw that the Sunwell Isle 25 man raid is partially scripted for now, but Kil’Jaedon still isn’t scripted properly. I can’t wait for that to be scripted. I’ve seen youtube vids of it and it looks effin sweet! I would love to witness that firsthand.
I’ve never played with achievements before; it’s a really cool idea.
I also found out for people who discovered it too, when you edit your acct name in sqlyog and assign your acct a “3″ for gm, when you create a character it starts at level 80. To fix this, open the TrinityCore conf. file, scroll down about 3/4 of the way, look for “GM. Start Level” and change it from 80 to 1, so you can levelup like normal, that is if you like to try leveling up honestly ;).
Hope this info is able to help somebody who is stuck on that same problem!

Ok then only use Wow.exe to start wow, it is in the World Of Warcraft folder.

  3. Spike said May 22, 2009 at 5:07 am

Ok it started to automatically download an update on me…

  4. Spike said May 22, 2009 at 4:47 am

Disregard I figured it out, will post if I have any further problems.

  5. Spike said May 22, 2009 at 3:21 am

Well I did manage to fix the maps and the dbc problem, and I’m running the makevmaps_SIMPLE.bat in the c:/program files/world of warcraft/data/enus folder, but I get an empty vmap folder, am I doing something wrong?

  6. Spike said May 22, 2009 at 3:10 am

sorry, meant to add then the rest go into c:/program files/world of warcraft/data/enus or whatever the pathway is

  7. Spike said May 22, 2009 at 3:06 am

So ad.exe goes into the c:/program files/world of warcraft and that’s it?

  8. someone said May 21, 2009 at 10:50 pm

add.exe needs to go into the root of your wow folder the rest goes into enus folder run makevmaps_SIMPLE.bat in that folder

  9. Spike said May 21, 2009 at 8:33 pm

I just downloaded this yesterday and went to extract the vmaps maps dbc etc. and I only got a buildings folder out of the whole mess, I copied the files into the enUS folder along with the ad.exe and when I went to extract everything I just got buildings, if anyone knows how to fix the problem I’d appreciate it, if not I’ll give more detail when I get home.

    Could anyone please help?

    Danhasaquestion,
Here is a list of all the gm commands in pdf format that I got from forum.cycnusmedia.com

    Hope this helps

  13. masterlear said May 21, 2009 at 12:19 pm

GM Island is empty. Is it possible to add the NPCs?

  14. someone said May 20, 2009 at 9:02 pm

there is a link at the top of the page “reaper trinity installation”

  15. Crov@X said May 20, 2009 at 4:04 pm

Sorry to be such a nucance, does anyone have a step for step guide to install this repack?
I want to run a lan over the weekend and test it out before then. More importantly, want to be able to play offline. When my internet reaches its cap.

  16. Crov@X said May 20, 2009 at 3:36 pm

I’ve extracted the VMAPS. I’m trying to get it running, what does one put down for the database name and the password when installing the database? also where do i get the dbc and the maps?

  17. Ethan said May 20, 2009 at 10:13 am

I have a problem compiling trinitycore, my computer automatically shuts down when compiling. Using C++ 2008 Express Edition.
Can anyone post the links to the updated binaries for Trinity?

  18. studog said May 20, 2009 at 9:54 am

    To answer Danhasaquestion,

    Here are the GM commands

    http://www.reaper-x.com/2009/01/01/trinity-core-gm-commands/

Here are 2 sites that you can get all the patchs you will need. Fileplanet you will have to create an account and can only download one at a time but its very fast. Arakkoa you can download as many at a time as your computer can handle and you dont have to create an account but its a little slower. There are more out there but these are the two I used when setting up my own server.

    http://www.fileplanet.com/100462/0/section/Patches

    http://www.arakkoa.com/

  19. Danhasaquestion said May 20, 2009 at 7:34 am

One more question, and I appologize for flooding, but where can I find individual patches for post tbc? I have all patches on my external hd up to 2.4.3, but since the bliz updater will push me up to 3.1.0, which I don’t want, I need to find patches up to 3.0.9 only.
I appreciate any help any of you can give me.

  20. Danhasaquestion said May 20, 2009 at 7:29 am

Is there a gm command guide for trinity? i have the old one for mangos if the commands are the same. i’ll check back for the answer in a few days

  21. TPB said May 20, 2009 at 3:20 am

  22. studog said May 20, 2009 at 3:16 am

    Its ok TPB!

I figured as much as it being the install of the game and not the server it self. I think there is a cache file somewhere but I cant seem to find it.

If you happen to remember please let me know!

    Thanks!

  23. TPB said May 20, 2009 at 3:13 am

Its not the server, it would be the game. It happened to me some time ago. Hmm, I don’t remember how I fixed it. Srry :(

  24. studog said May 20, 2009 at 3:01 am

Also have a question to post to the group. I have the server setup and its been running great for a week now. BUT Im running into a problem. When you change settings in the interface, Like Auto Loot or Instant Quest text. When the user logs out the settings are not saved for when they log in the next time. Has anyone else had this issue or been able to fix it?

  25. studog said May 20, 2009 at 2:42 am

Does anyone know of a way to get a hold of the Darkened Linux himself? I tried to reg on his forum but it never goes through and I can not find an E-mail for him. I just want to get a copy of his reg form.

And thank you to “Dropped” but I don’t need XAMP I have a web server setup just fine that runs the scripts. I just want to simplify the form and also I’m getting script errors that wont allow a sign up. Its a problem in the PHP it self.

    Thanks for the help everyone.

    Hi…

Does anyone know when the new repack comes out?? With the Patch 3.1.1?? :P

  30. someone said May 19, 2009 at 8:52 pm

    has to do with compression

  31. Crov@X said May 19, 2009 at 6:06 pm

I downloaded the pack from Megaupload and when i try to extract it it asks for a password. How do i get past the password?

  32. Gosszilla said May 19, 2009 at 12:49 pm

hrm, repack works, and I’m happy for that, but I can’t seem to see any NPCs in Northrend. Death Knights are enabled though

  33. bmeredith1969 said May 19, 2009 at 10:20 am

The pack from Megaupload asks for a password when you try to un-zip it. And it is bigger than the ones from Rapidshare abd Filebeam.

Also, the DBC folder in the pack i downloaded from Rapidshare was empty. Not checked the Filebeam one yet, but it is the same size as the Rapidshare one, about 16.7 MB, while the one that is password locked from Megaupload is 31.9MB. What’s up?

  34. Jakalth said May 19, 2009 at 9:25 am

@The Darkened Linux: Nice Repack! After the initial 2 days of trouble I’ve had no problems at all running the server. It works smoothly and hasn’t crashed even with some rather… EXCESSIVE gm command goofing off. ;) Smooth as can be. Can’t wait for the updated pack. Hopefully too see more northrend content if the new database has it.

@Reaper-X: Nice of you too host this repack for The Darkened Linux and good too have you back and running. Hopefully your other computer work is giving you enough income too be able too save up for fun things for yourself.

As for the problems I was having, it was very simple. wrong guid set for the ahbot = server crash. ahbot works fine, once the table for it is set and the account and guid are correct. With that right, it’s smooth sailing. Just can’t wait for naxx too be changed in the db too the lvl 80 version of it instead of the lvl 60 version.

  35. Reaper-X said May 19, 2009 at 8:02 am

LOL , last time i read about those updates reaper went missing for 3 months :P not that i am complaining but . I do hope those updates will arive someday :)

Well yeah actually i’ve been busy with other things not related to the internet although it’s still related to computer lol, and i’m really sorry for that :)

And btw, this repack was made by Darkened Linux himself, so all credits should be given to him ;)

Anyways its a awsom repack , keep up the good work

  37. Droped said May 19, 2009 at 3:14 am

All you need to do is YouTube XAMP and find a guide on how to install, if you are new to this. XAMP is a pack that has Apache, PHP and mysql all in one. Install it and you can work with php. If you have that working and you what what Darkened Linux has on his reg site, got to his forum and ask. He looks at his forum more than this website. I think…

  38. studog said May 19, 2009 at 2:57 am

    Hey The Darkened Linux!!

Anyway I can get a copy of your code for the Reg Site you have up? I’m having issues with the one that is included in the pack. My PHP skills are limited LOL. Also I like how simple you have yours setup.

    Thanks!

  39. Droped said May 18, 2009 at 1:32 pm

Opps nvm! you dont need to ask to be a GM,it is on the reg page..

anyone els have there server running and willing to let me play on there server?

  43. SomegGirls said May 18, 2009 at 7:47 am

You need to let it finish, then it will convert it in to the VMAPS. Thats if you used the simple extractor. If you used the other one then you will need to use the other one if comes with.

  44. Nutzy said May 18, 2009 at 6:11 am

Thanks for the release, I’m a novice at setting up server, but had it up and running in 15 minutes (not including the extrator times ofc).

Just want to be sure though before I go compiling my own stuff, I’ve noticed that there doesn’t apear to be much in the way of content, ie no mobs or NPC’s in most of Dragonblight, in fact very few mobs / npcs in TBC areas either.

Btw when running the extractors for VMAPS, the VMPAS folder wasn’t filled, instead I got a Buildings folder.

  45. Krymzin said May 17, 2009 at 9:08 pm

Just because you deleted those two folders doesn’t mean the program is removed, you would need to manually remove the programs in the registry which could be dangerous if you deleted the wrong thing. You should always use the uninstaller provided with the program if you don’t know how to edit the registry.

  46. someone said May 17, 2009 at 5:49 pm

okay thats good to hear then i shall not bother posting my server then

  47. random said May 17, 2009 at 1:09 pm
