Reaper-X Trinity/MaNGOS Rev: 1 (2.4.3) (World of Warcraft)

After months and months without updates I finally decided to get my lazy butt down onto the chair so that I could begin to publish you guys a really nice and well thoughtout repack. This repack, has over 13,000 new features/additions since our last Reaper-X Update.  Yes I know this is a 2.4.3 release, but its so stable I just had to release it!  We have moved from MaNGOS to Trinity. Trinity is a core that is based off of MaNGOS and still is in sync with MaNGOS. I chose Trinity because there is a little more things fixed in Trinity than in MaNGOS.  Also from the start of this revision, will be our official supported release. Meaning that we will provide updates from this revision to the future. So you guys will be able to upgrade your server without losing your character data! We will also even provide support and upgrade your characters when WotLK gets released for 3.0.8! So you can use this 2.4.3 release and whenever we update to 3.0.8 all your characters will be upgraded successfully! :D

Also, alot of the batch file was reprogrammed to make it better than ever!

Zulman Gates!

    You need to contact the developers over at trinity they will look deeper into the issue. Trinitycore . Org

  2. aznxnycxboi said Dec 26, 2008 at 6:16 am

    I found a bug with adding a custom made item. When you type .additem, the item wouldn’t have an image it will have a Question mark. When you equip an armor/sword or anything you can see on your character, the image of the item appears and no longer a question mark.

    If it is a bag, the bag is invisible when equipped.

    I never saw this bug in MANGOS version.

  3. Evok3r said Dec 26, 2008 at 5:38 am

    kk awesome i was just now thinking it could be the port but i made the mistake to make the port number 3306 but it must be 8085 :) but cul..

  4. Duff said Dec 26, 2008 at 5:32 am

    I found the problem.
    The client that i was using is on an alternate system. So after changing the realmlist from 127.0.0.1 to the server’s actual IP, it’s fine.

  5. Duff said Dec 26, 2008 at 4:35 am

    @Evok3r
    Check, Check, and Check. Still the same issue.
    I can login just fine, get to the realm selection and then when it’s saying “logging in to game server” it sits there for a second and then goes back to the realm selection window where i see the realm i created.
    Seems like everything is setup ok. The server console came up with no errors and responds well to commands. Have no idea why the client won’t start.

  6. Evok3r said Dec 26, 2008 at 3:37 am

    when you login it just kicks you out…
    i had the same prob..
    Go to navicat and look in your database.
    there will be Realmd.
    dubble click on it and youll see on the right side there will be realmlist. open that.
    set the IP to 127.0.0.1 and the name to what ever you like. THe id must also be 1

  7. Duff said Dec 26, 2008 at 3:05 am

    I’m a total noob at setting up a server. But following instructions i managed to get almost there. I have it setup, created a user, i can now authenticate and login with the client and select the realmlist, but can’t get past this. Never does load the character creation screen. Keeps kicking me off to the realm selection screen.
    What should i check?

  8. Bigmarky said Dec 26, 2008 at 1:09 am

    still amazes me people are asking about the same questions since the first posting on here for a private server was posted

    if u get lost just look at your older config files from older mangos setups

    can’t wait till 3.0, not gonna mess with this one just still messing around with a wotlk beta private server based on ascent that works really well except no instances

  9. Evok3r said Dec 26, 2008 at 12:38 am

    @Logic…
    Did you set you account to gm level 3??
    if you did that is the prob..
    in the Trinitycore there are in about the middle is there this:

    GM.LoginState = 2
    GM.AcceptTickets = 2
    GM.Chat = 2
    GM.WhisperingTo = 2
    GM.InGMList = 0
    GM.InWhoList = 0
    GM.LogTrade = 1
    GM.StartLevel = 70

    change the GM start level to 1 :)

  10. meth said Dec 25, 2008 at 9:33 pm

    I currently use MangosGUI. It worked great with Mangos and it partially works with Trinity. I can get the server running but it wont let you do anything else like announcements and a player list. Oh well.. at least it allows me to start the servers and then it minimizes to an icon by the clock.

  11. Logic said Dec 25, 2008 at 8:52 pm

    Im using the EU client and the config is set to start players at level 1… but instead they start at level 70. very annoying.

  12. Oatman said Dec 25, 2008 at 2:36 pm

    Also another thing for everyone that does not know, Trinity is a branch off of Mangos. So if you’ve used mangos trinity is very easy to pick up on.

    Also on Dec 22nd MaNGOS officially supported 3.0.3 so whenever trinity supports it, I’ll give it 3 days after that for some final stability bugs to be fixed then I’ll role it out. It wont have a database for deathknights or northrend when I role it out but at least the core will run stable.

  13. Datta said Dec 25, 2008 at 2:32 pm

    Thanks Oatman and Reaper-X, i fixed that database problem using navicat and now it works fine. This is the best compilation so far and i happy that ARENA works!!! thanks once again.

  14. Oatman said Dec 25, 2008 at 2:32 pm

    Btw Reaper,

    You and I need to spend sometime together and program a GUI for the community. Not alot of people enjoy using a CLI interface.

  15. Oatman said Dec 25, 2008 at 2:31 pm

    Geez Wrath,

    I love how much knowledge and effort you have into helping the community! You seem to know alot. So guys whenever Wrath posts listen to him he knows what hes talking about on how to fix the bugs.

    I will have instructions up tomorrow during the end of christmas day.

    #MySQL Not Recognized

    Well this problem is that in your batch file you did not specify the right path to where your mysql.exe or mysqld.exe is. Also it appears taht you cant have MySQL Server 5.0 spaced so you need to rename the folder for it and do it yourself. (Geez a GUI would be nice)

    #For the Realms Not in Realmlist
    trinity does not include a predefined realm like MaNGOS. You need to go into your mysql database using PHPMYADMIN or NAVICAT and you need to go into the realmd database and then go into the realmlist table and add the name of the realm. The Host which should be 127.0.0.1 th eicon to 1 and the color to 1.

    #Connecting Issues

    Did your trinitycore boot without errors? (This release boots with about 10 errors) but did it booth without over a thousand errors? Also make sure to go into whereever wow is installed and edit the realmlist.wtf file to 127.0.0.1. Also make sure windows firewall isn’t blocking you.

  16. Evok3r said Dec 25, 2008 at 1:42 pm

    not to wory everyone. i have corrected my mistakes :) :).

    when i had to set the IP address in Navicat i also set the port to (3306), but you musn’t.it must stay (8085).:):) And now it works perfectly…..

  17. Yachiru said Dec 25, 2008 at 11:52 am

    when you say 3.0.3 you mean just the patch or will it work if I have the lich king client installed also?

  18. meth said Dec 25, 2008 at 8:09 am

    nevermind. I just edited the database and changed the cooridnates and it worked fine.

  19. meth said Dec 25, 2008 at 6:47 am

    I accidentally teleported my character somewhere and it made my game crash. Now every time I start the game it crashes. Is there anyway I can relocate my character without being logged in as that character?

    Could you tell me on what is the exact problem of the batch file other than extra space? i just downloaded oatman releases and going to fix the batch file ;)

    #Wrath. Oatman or Reaper if you would like I can help make a instuctions with pics if you like and then send it too you guys for approval but it would not be untill after Christmas.

    It’d be great, just let me know if you don’t mind on writing the instruction and i’ll post it :)

  22. Keenan said Dec 25, 2008 at 3:54 am

    Got it fixed… Im actually using US. Anyways, I was copying over my maps/vmaps from arcance fire and no luck. so I was using the utils in the vamp extractor & assembler folder with no luck as well. I finally got it to work using the Map & DBC extractor.exe which Im guessing I should have been doing all along…Noob mistake on my part….anyways hopefully if anyone else is still having this same style issue this will help get it installed. All else is working fine so far.

  23. wrath said Dec 25, 2008 at 2:41 am

    I edited my conf file to start at level 1 and it works, howerver i am using the US version.

  24. wrath said Dec 25, 2008 at 2:36 am

    Did you edit the trinitycore.conf file so that characters start at level 70?

  25. Logic said Dec 25, 2008 at 2:24 am

    Im using an EU client, it works.
    APpart from the fact all my chars are starting at lvl 70?!

  26. wrath said Dec 25, 2008 at 1:02 am

    Spritz im not sure this build supports EU clients.

  27. wrath said Dec 25, 2008 at 1:00 am

    sounds like something is not connecting to the database.

    Double checks:

    Make sure the realmlist.wtf says (set realmlist 127.0.0.1)

    Make sure that when you open Navicat that the realmd and then inside realmlist is shows your realm in there and the Ip address.

    Make sure that you are restrting the Trinity batch files anytime you make changes in Navicat.

    Also did you download the 6245 database and run the reaper-x-magos.bat and pick option 6?

    Check you sql database settings with Navicat and make sure you have the localhost or 127.0.0.1 setting correct in there.

  28. Spritz said Dec 25, 2008 at 1:00 am

    ad.exe extracts the US map files, to extract the EU files you need MPQE. I’m currently extracting a US client to see if problem still extists, I expect it doesn’t. In which case this build doesn’t support EU clients.

  29. Evok3r said Dec 25, 2008 at 12:51 am

    oh soz but still i ave prob…
    it connects and after a few seconds it disconnects :(

  30. wrath said Dec 25, 2008 at 12:30 am

    Keenan when you run the AD.exe make sure in your wow directory there is no current DBC folder or maps folders. IF so delete them and then run AD.exe again and let it recreate them.

  31. wrath said Dec 25, 2008 at 12:28 am

    Keenan make sure that you have the correct version running and you have copied all the maps to the correct location. Ex c:\wow\data. Also make sure you have version 2.4.3

  32. wrath said Dec 25, 2008 at 12:27 am

    yay im glad you got it figured out Evok3r

  33. Keenan said Dec 25, 2008 at 12:25 am

    Im getting the same problem Spritz, I’ve re-run the ad.exe and such and still get this error.

    “Map file ‘D:\WoW\Data/maps/0004331.map’ is non-compatible version (outdated?). Please create new using ad.exe program”

  34. Evok3r said Dec 24, 2008 at 11:30 pm

    oja it was the realmlist in navicat:)

  35. Evok3r said Dec 24, 2008 at 11:26 pm

    @wrath… o.k your good.
    but when i connect, it says connected and when a few seconds pass i get disconnected :( lol

  36. Spritz said Dec 24, 2008 at 11:24 pm

    Incidently for those having problems with the realm not being available, I just created a bat file and text file to insert the realm for me:

    Setrealm.bat
    mysql -u”username” -p”password” < setrealm.txt
    pause

    setrealm.txt
    USE `realmd`; INSERT `realmlist` SET `name` = ‘Prometheus’, `address` = ‘127.0.0.1′;
    SELECT * FROM `realmlist`;

    Obviously you’ll need to change the pertinent details for your server and desired realm name. If it works you’ll see the realm being displayed.

  37. Spritz said Dec 24, 2008 at 11:13 pm

    Hi guys, still trying to work on the map problem. The exact error I’m getting is when running the trinitycore.exe (realm works ok):

    “Map file ‘D:\WoW\Data/maps/0004331.map’ is non-compatible version (outdated?). Please create new using ad.exe program”

    Now I’ve done just that, ran the ad.exe on the 2.3.2 client I have again and I’m still getting the error. I’m a bit stupmed tbh I didn’t have this problem when setting up Arcane-Fire previously, my onlly thought as I mentioned before is that it’s because I’m extracting from the EU client.

    Any help you can give is appreciated :)

  38. wrath said Dec 24, 2008 at 11:12 pm

    It is option 6 in that reaper-x-mangos batch file!! It will set the lan up for you.

  39. wrath said Dec 24, 2008 at 11:09 pm

    http://www.reaper-x.com/2008/07/11/mangos-6245-udb-psdb-scriptdev2-r474/.

    This is the link to get 6245. Download it and open the reaper-x-mangos.bat file and run it. Type in the path to your mysql. EX. c:\mysql\mysqlserver5.0\bin and then select the option that say something about “only after you server is working”. this will allow you to name the realm and will insert it into the database for you. that should allow you to log into the realm.

  40. wrath said Dec 24, 2008 at 10:57 pm

    Go into Navicat and look in your realmd database and look for relamlist and make sure what you names your relam is listed in there. If it is blank that is your issue. make sure you add a realm in there name and the Ipaddress. If you down load the 6245 mangos and run the reaper-x-mangos.bat file you can have it add the realm for you. i think it the 4th or 5th option in the list. Let me know.

  41. Evok3r said Dec 24, 2008 at 10:53 pm

    @wrath…
    im not getting an error….
    everything runs fine and works fine..
    but when i go in to WoW and i type in my username and password, it tells me “Unable to connect”….

  42. wrath said Dec 24, 2008 at 10:50 pm

    Evok3r, mine is running just fine however it ook me forever to get it going. make sure that your realmlist.wtf files says set realmlist 127.0.0.1. I donwloaded the 6245 version and ran the reaper-x-mangos.bat files and then ran the program that says something about only if your server is up and running and that sets your realmlist in the mysql database. see if that works and let me know exactly what the error is that you are getting.

  43. aznxnycxboi said Dec 24, 2008 at 10:25 pm

    There is a bug with the MOTD, where it can not have any commmas, periods, or any of those symbols. It can only have plain text…

  44. Spritz said Dec 24, 2008 at 10:20 pm

    Had Arcane-Fire running before which worked a treat. I’m having problems with this release regarding invalid map files. It could be because the map files I have are the EU ones, anyone know of a work around?

  45. Evok3r said Dec 24, 2008 at 10:20 pm

    @wrath…
    i have made myself a player account but i cant still connect. i dunno why.. everything is how it should be. Does yours work??

  46. wrath said Dec 24, 2008 at 10:08 pm

    Guys you can run the 6245 reapers-x-mangos.bat and run the ip addres or realm option and it will set the realm for you but make sure that is all you run from that bat file. after this your realm is ready to go. Or you can go into Navicat and set it yourself in the realmd database realmlist.

  47. beers65 said Dec 24, 2008 at 10:03 pm

    set mysqlpath=c:\Program Files\MySQL Server 5.0\bin

    if you have space in your path change to

    set mysqlpath=”c:\Program Files\MySQL Server 5.0\bin”

  48. wrath said Dec 24, 2008 at 10:00 pm

    Evok3r, Have you created a player name in the console of trinity core? After you run trinity core and it finished loading and it stops hit enter it will bring up a prompt. At this point you can type command or commands and it will show you a list of commands you can do. you need to create a player and give them burning crusade access and gm access. To create the account I think you type account create (playername)(space and then your password).
    It should tell you that player created. then I think its set account (player name) 3. this gives you GM account privledges. See if that works.
