Oatmans’ Wrath of the Lich King Release! Revision:1

Well its finally here! Sorry that it took me about two months to finally get around to making it but our first Wrath of the Lich King Server is now here and supports Revision: 8788 of the WotLK Beta Client! This release operates on top of the MaNGOS Kernel using the UDB Database. With about 3,585 lines of code added into the MaNGOS Core Wrath of the Lich King is now officially supported into the Reaper-X Family and Discussion Board!

Installation Instruction:
1. Run Oatmans' WotLK Installer.bat from Oatman’s WotLK Database directory and continue with the installation until finished
2. Edit Mangosd.conf and Realmd.conf especially at below parts to point to the correct database name using your mysql password and username:
Note:
– Replace wotlk_usr to your mysql username
– Replace mangos to your mysql password
– Replace wotlk_realmd, wotlk_world, wotlk_characters to point to the correct database name that is used on the installation process
– Replace Datadir to the full path of your extracted DBC files and maps files from WOTLK (if you put the dbc directory and maps in the same directory of mangos, then there’s no need for you to change it)

Other Notes (thanks to LoLz Guy):
#1 To run mangos.exe you have to edit mangos.conf and delete some spaces (if there are too many) or other things that dont fit there...
#2 To make your databases work you have to use a mysql gui program (like navicat or sqlyog) and execute batch files to characters and realmd tabs.
#3 To make a Death Knight you have to manually edit the database (using navicat sqlyog or sometjing like that) and in the realmd in account table change your accounts "tbc" thingie from 0 to 2 or from 1 to 2 (I couldn't do it in mangos.exe commands, as it was blocked or something).
BTW the Death Knight class starts at the race start place, has no abilities, and there is NO WOTLK CONTENT AT ALL...
Important Note from Oatman:
Currently this repack doesn’t have any NPC's on Northrend although he (Oatman) said that he’ll add NPC’s later on the next revision (Revision 2) and probably some other things as well :) … and as he said before on the comment area, he is currently busy with various things as well and so he sent me the download link yesterday via email

I have one problem, I found the lich king downloader, but the patching process stops at 8770 and I don't know how to get to 8788. If anyone can find that it would be greatly appreciated if they can share.

I think that there should be some links to the client and necessary patches download... Best if they were torrent downloads, but rapidshare or something would be good too.

i downloaded the beta client from here about 2-3 weeks ago...its a direct link to the download 1.88 GB and the install won't affect your retail WoW its a whole separate folder a little over 9 gigs
when u download it and install it, make a new folder on the drive that you want it on called WotLK Beta and install it there

Will this be able to be upgraded from the 5953 release and not lose Character data? Or will this need to upgraded in steps. And if so, what would be the best way?

So this alpha release would be based on standard MaNGOS + your patches? or does MaNGOS already have support for the client prebuild?
As I did the last time, I'm still going to require a build of my own, due to my crappy CPU on the server. So would the source, in case you make it, be released as well?
UDB, SD2 - Of course, WoTLK has some differences and additions. Will the release still be compatible with the current MaNGOS, SD2 files, and will we be able to merge the data with the "official" UDB/SD2 releases?
I wouldn't mind doing some manual work on the SQL layer if that is required, nor would I mind mingling in the source code if that is required too. But that's probably the few of us that would be capable of doing that.
Let us know when you have more info and when we can expect to give it a try, working or not, it's going to be fun trying.

With this release, will there be npcs, mobs & quests at northrend?
I do already using a wotlk mangos release on my servers, and it's only a few places, like larger cities that have npcs and no transports in or to northrend are working.
Hope your release is better, but mine is still not bad, since Death Knight is working pretty nice.

Good choice with the version of the beta, it's usable both in old and new worlds, and there are points of travel defined.
For the few needing the final patch, just try to log into the beta, and the final patch will be downloaded.
Looks quite cool so far, I'm ready to pounce on a server and getting the thing airborne.

I've recently been using another repack for the 8788 client, but it's missing DK quests and mobs in the Northrend. Also the dbc files had to be extracted from 8770 and used with the 8788 maps.
I was wondering if this is going to be the case with rev.1?

I was having a read about some of the current releases of WotLK, are you able to elaborate on what features will be available in this release?
I've seen a lots that don't have NPC's, no high riding skills and many other things.
How much won't we be able to do on this first release?

Also, there are rumors that you will need dbc from a previous version and maps from the current version. Any idea on this?

I have a question, the problem with alot of ppl here me included is we're itching to know when the server software is going to be released etc etc, I was wondering would it be possible to let us know how far you've got with it, till your happy enough to release it, i dunno just a quick update with like 70% complete 80% complete etc etc, was just thinking it wouldn't need you to give a 12 page essay on what needs to be done b4 its ready, all i'm thinking is it'll take 30 secs if that just to say how far you've got, it'll put alot of ppl at ease i'm thinking.

The sad thing though is that my ISP do not look kindly to hosting of servers on these residential connections.
I do run a Reaper-X server for the members of my guild, just for fun and machinima creations.

I am busy for two months all during the middle of the day for swimming practice so its kind of hard to put full effort into getting this release shipped but it should at least be out by Saturday Night...
Also it is for version: 8788 of 3.0.1 if a higher comes out I'll make it for the higher version.
Also I restrict it to one revision becuase if I dont it would crash on the person with the lower revision.

I wouldn't expect old clients or even the pre wotlk to be able to use the server, as there is indeed change in the old world (i.e. Stormwind Barber Shop), as well as the new maps.
Add to this, that even the slightest bad reference of spells, or other internal dbc data that do not exist usually causes the client to crash.
There's one small possibility that this might be possible in the future, ralmd.exe has a build in function to distribute patches, but no one seems to be able to decipher the code. This would make it possible to create your own dbc/mpq files for the server and hence, make sure all your players have the right version for your server.
Of course, this would require massive bandwidth, but if used with a torrent engine it would be possible.

From my experience with Reaper-X's Mangos (or let alone Oatman's repacks) You can install WotLK Beta anywhere. As long as you can copy / paste the dbc / vmap extractor. Could be wrong.
And as always, this is so we can host our own private servers. 'else he wouldn't be releasing it.

Untrue, because he's already stated it'll be released when he decides uploads it. That says to me that he's done working on it and only has to upload it now, meaning when he has the time.
Pretty sure he's done making improvements and it's not getting any better just sitting there. If he's too busy to upload it, chances are he's too busy to squash out the bugs too.

WOTLK Patches are every friday, so i have to agree with tho's that posted you should polish it a bit and release it... wow releases a new patch once a week so it will be hard to keep up, this friday coming out is a fairly big patch as well.

I have a little problem because the litch king installed need 7 gb (i installed in my external hd) so i need to have wowtlk and wow(with tbc) or i only need this new wowtlk. its because i have my hd full and i cant have both installed.

when you run the WotLK installer it checks to see if TBC is installed i believe.
no i dont ask it install the wowtlk like a new wow. i already installed on my external hd, now i need to do the updates
you only need WotLK installed. The beta isn't an actual "expansion" pack for WoW or TBC. It does indeed install into a separate folder and updates accordingly. So if you just want to play WotLK then you simply just install that as a stand alone and update it as needed.

For those who keeps asking.
When you download Wrath of the Lich King, it'll install it self into a new directory. If you are in the beta for Wrath of the Lich King, then you can play it. If you are not in the beta, then you need to wait or get another repack of Mangos from another provider, or wait untill Oatman is done. Also, when you install Wrath of the Lich King, it'll ask to either 'upgrade' your account or 'skip', click on skip. (Unless you have a Beta key.) As for the patches.. Chances are, Oatman will be using the latest patch revision: 8820 (as of August 27, 08).
This beta expansion will not interfere with your normal World of Warcraft folder. So all is fine.
I just received an email from Oatman (plus the download link to the repack), and he says that the current version (revision 1) is not for the latest wotlk client, and currently it doesnt have any NPC's on Northrend (he also says that he will start making more NPC's and such for the revision 2 which will be released later of course)
And because currently Oatman busy with his life. When i got back, i'll edit this post by myself to add the download link to the repack :)

Shouldn't the launcher download the downloaders automatically?? In my case I've had to download patches:

The lancher downloaded the downloaders for these at my pc... So my point is just use the launcher because blizz is'nt gonna make a patch that upgrades to the newest build in one go...
with me it downloads 1 big patch to 8820 :( could you seed the torrent found on piratebay? wotlk patch 2? would make me very happy. as long as you got enGB btw :P thanks anyway

Ok, for those who need to downgrade or reinstall WotLK to 8788... You can manually install the patches from the Blizzard Entertainment\World of Warcraft folder. Backup and change your realmlist address for patches to none or something of that nature so that the software doesn't keep downloading the patches and when you want to install a new patch use the original patch address or find a direct download via the net.

I had a little problem with getting things started with this, RealmD was unable to find any realms (apologies for not being exact, i'll try to recreate the error and post more info about it) and MangosD would close instantly, i seem to have fixed this by renaming the folder "Oatmans' WotLK Release #1" to just "WotLK" i'm assuming it was the ' or 1 that was causing a problem, also i redirected the .CONF files from "wotlk_realmd" to just "realmd" and so far i've been able to log in and create a character so far!

I get a popup messages everytime i try run Mangosd.exe or Realmd.ex, it says "this application has failed to start because msvcr71.dll was not found. re-installing this application may fix this problem." i have edited the realm and magos files. any ideas of what iv done wrong ?
i just gave this a go, firstly had to insert the realmd and characters sql manually in to the database
then on line 512 of mangosd.conf theres a rogue apostrophe that needs removing to get mangosd to start.
worked fine for me, except when i tried to create a new char i pressed create and no char showed up, and cant select DK, ill go and double check everything as i probably have missed something.

I'm at the same stage as Crackers, i can enter the game, create characters, etc, new talents/spells, except DK's, Stormwind Harbour's there but it's not got any ships, wetlands is using the old ship locations (Wetlands to Darkshore)

to put my realm online, i have to do it the long way
seeing as my router will let me foward ports no probs, but still everytime someone connects to me , it reroutes to my router, i tried everything but does'nt work.
so instead i config server with my assigned IP and then use hamachi which works fine, i used ReaperX's fanastic mangos wow+bc release and works perfecto
ah yes i just inserted the gm island vendors i use for other release and they work fine on oatmans WotLK release, least i dont have to be lvl 80 now with lvl 1 gear lol
as for the sql i use a specific username and password i use for all databases, and use that for everything instead of the usual user root with now password.

they both have nothing todo with deathknights in them (although i could be wrong but the others have race class etc and only 1 "class" has id of "6" for all races)

personally i use Navicat Lite, can get it free here http://www.navicat.com/download.html
its very easy to use, as simple as right clicking a database , then choose Execute Batch File , then press the square button to look for the .sql file you want to import to that database
if you want ot manually create the databases then just right click localhost and then create database,

to manually add the stuff into mysql, i had installed navicat lite (it's free) gone into the database right click on "wotlk_realmd" and select execute batch
navigate to this repack and then "Oatman's WotLK Database" and select "wotlk_realmd.sql"
click start then close on next screen
do the same on "wotlk_characters" but with "wotlk_characters.sql" as the target
@josh, the only time i ever got an error like that is if i wrote the wrong file path to mysql\bin or mysql wasn't running.
other then that nothing springs to mind, sorry.
anyone have a rough estimate on the time it will take to patch the client to the right version number? i'm still downloading off the link reaper-x provided and it's been 5 hours (i havent patched the client yet... 8788, right?)

it only took me in the region of 30 mins to patch upto the correct version (yes it's 8788)
and that was done with the blizzard downloader also, a few days ago (not from the links though).
apparently if you try without reaper's provided links you will go straight to the latest revision now though :(

my mysql is work right but i am have probles with the database. i go in to the folder and i run the upgrade from Arcanefire or should i run the Oatman's Wotlk installer but when i do this one i get the error but i will try it one more time

i get up to were i can choose your deerination then i hit 1 and i do my MySQL nam and password and then if gives me the error

I'd like to tell you some of the things i figured out...
#1 To run mangos.exe you have to edit mangos.conf and delete some spaces (if there are too many) or other things that dont fit there...
#2 To make your databases work you have to use a mysql gui program (like navicat or sqlyog) and execute batch files to characters and realmd tabs.
#3 To make a Death Knight you have to manually edit the database (using navicat sqlyog or sometjing like that) and in the realmd in account table change your accounts "tbc" thingie from 0 to 2 or from 1 to 2 (I couldn't do it in mangos.exe commands, as it was blocked or something).
BTW the Death Knight class starts at the race start place, has no abilities, and there is NO WOTLK CONTENT AT ALL...
@Reaper-X if it is possible please make this comment show in color (maybe red or somethin' cause there are some ppl who don't read older comments and ask questions that were already answered, unless it looks different from the rest) as this should be all that is necessary to do to run this repack. OF COURSE besides unpacking and copying dbc and maps folder to the repack folder.
I believe we rushed Oatman, I can't even get it running. I know nothing of 'inserting SQL's' and the like, I'll wait for the next repack. :)
just a guess but couldn't you edit the .bat to insert the missing database's (for realmd and characters) just right click the .bat installer select edit scroll down to the part that says
mysql -u%mangosusr% -p%mangospw% %myoption% -D wotlk_world < "DeathKnightData.sql"
and copy -paste that line in but change "DeathKnightData.sql" to "wotlk_realmd.sql" then do the same again for characters?
then you can at least get on the game with no messing with navicat sqlyog etc?

Aye, new Zepplin tower there, Stormwind Harbour, Wetlands and erm... i'm not sure where the second Horde one is! - though i'm unable to get to Northrend atm! other people having that problem? if not then at least i know it was me who messed something up :P
actually im having the same issue what i thought was a zepplin departing from the new tower, was just one leaving the old one as i exited UC, so far i havent been able to get any transport to show up that goes to NR

Aye i can create DK's, though they have no gear or abilities, they have talent points to spend, and if you use the gm commands you can add their abilities, though not all of them work, like ghouls and some other things

Hey Oats, I'm not going to lie, I'm extremely dissapointed. I know you worked hard, and I can understand that but, this "WotLK" server as you call it, really isn't even a Wrath server at all... you can't get to Northrend, and the Death Knight class is totally fucked up. However, I'll look past this one, and hope to see that you improve apon all this in 8820. I'm not saying that I hate you or anything of that sorts as alot of the people here will most likely interupret, but I know you can do better.

Is there going to be a little more in depth installation guide? I am a little confused by the instructions, and having something a little more in depth would be great even if its not from Oatman or Reaper. And great job guys, was looking forward to this.
Not to completely come off as an ass... but...
There are a few fully compiled WOTLK environments out there, and then this... 'compilation' comes along. It's just a serious letdown, as it does not even have any WOTLK baseline content. None...
Hate to say it, but for right now, a lot of these posters here should look at using a server like Crogges (which is currently running build 8820 with full content), if they are not lucky enough to be in the actual closed beta.
I'll keep an eye out for further updates, though.
As to Reapers' Edit to my post...
DeathKnight abilities are in here.
Also there is alot of WotLK Content BUT like I said NPC's are NOT in here but they will be in the future... The starting zone for the DeathKnights does not have NPC's like I said but expect them in the future! :D

A few of us are in the actual beta, and also on fully functional non-Bliz beta test servers. Some repacks are running 8820 with full quest chains, dungeons, full world NPCs, etc.
Just adding feedback, sorry if it's a bit harsh, but it's not just grousing...

Oatie just started working on it, but in a few days he finished doing what he said he'd do (he said no npc's and stuff) he's not a robot and no one would spend all his time on something like this... I respect Oatie for his job and can't wait for revision 2 which will contain npc's and some other things (just as he said). Blizz worked on it since TBC release and they've had a whole team to work on it (plus they are professionals) and our Oatie is just one person, so just leavie him alone, show some gratitude, wait quietly for next releases or just shut up and go away if you don't like his work.

Hi=) I just tried to install the database, i changed the Wotlk_usr and pretty much everything called Wotlk in the realmd and mangosd files to root, changed the mangos to my password, but after i write my mysql username and password in the installation, i get the message "MySQL is not recognized as a runnable program and so on and so on. Anybody else that got this message? please reply=)

Okay, i managed to install the database, and everything is swell except for one problem. realmd is working just fine, however, mangosd does not. It just automatically closes every time i try to open it, how can this be fixed? and what or, where are the spaces in mangosd that you are talking about?
@Oatman: Take your time :) but i must say i actually found a better database, eventho its half german :( Its called the Frozen database, i hope this can help you improve your own release, im confident itll eventually pwn blizzard servers :p

i'm very impressed by all this, i'm new to all this stuff and currently have a reaperx release of wow+bc running too , which is awesome.
to the certain individuals whining about this release, either go and learn sql and start making improvements to this release, or just take it somewhere else, surely people cannot expect this release to be totally blizzlike.
as said before reaper and oatman and everyone else involved work damn hard getting this stuff up and running, i know for a fact i could not do it myself, so is much appreciated.
as for pointing out some private servers running latest patch and they run fine with everything, well thats cool, go and play there if thats what you want, its all cool no one owes anyone anything.
for me, playing with the databases, and stuff ingame is a great learning experience
and i hope this continues so maybe one day i can myself learn enough to contribute stuff as well.

i just gave this a go, firstly had to insert the realmd and characters sql manually in to the database
then on line 512 of mangosd.conf theres a rogue apostrophe that needs removing to get mangosd to start
Now, what im wondering is, what is this rogue apostrophe?=) what should i search for to find it? and is there more i have to delete from mangosd.conf to get mangosd to work? plz reply=)

if you load mangosd.conf into a text editor or notepad
then goto line 512 or search for Motd then there is an apostrophe as shown below:
Motd = "Welcome to Oatmans' WotLK Release!"
remove the Apostrophe after Oatmans and then mangosd.exe will load up fine

what this means is that where u put `root_world` in your mangosd.conf
change it to wotlk_world
it needs to match the database in your sqlyog
(have the same name)

Yea seriously, if you any of you can find a WotLK Database that will run on MaNGOS then please give it to me so I can work with it. I currently now work for UDB as a Data Provider and I have access to some of their developement stuff so if any of you can help me out we can help UDB out in the future as well. OK I don't see where to get the older versions. I saw the links to the patches in #294 but without the original 8622 download somewhere those wont get me to 8788. Guess I'll wait for rev2. Was hopeful I might be able to just update the confversion get into it and look at it with all the bugs but no worries. Thanks for the super quick reply!
ETA on the ver 2 release? i tried to build a WOTLK server from D3scene... but the DK quests dont work, the DK skills dont all seem to work, there's a missing chunk of ocean around the draeni starting area, thier paladin quests dont work either (odd that out of 3 tries, no server has them) buffs dont display at all and crafting is broken

OK found the older version and it patches itself just have to stop it from patching all the way to 8820. Now to find out how to add the needed skills and some gear (none of the stuff made for Warriors will work really he is wearing fel iron and junk for testing purposes thus far).

Thanx Firane=) i tried to install it again, sat through the matrix-thingy, but the weird thing is, there is never something wrong with realmd. Mangosd is the problem, first, it would not start (fixed), then, it would not connect to the database(Fixed, thanx again Firane:D) now ,it says a lot of tables in mysql don't exist and it keeps talking about vmaps. If i have to extract them, does anybody have an extractor?:P and are all these problems linked with me having Vista? Sorry for long post=/

#2 To make your databases work you have to use a mysql gui program (like navicat or sqlyog) and execute batch files to characters and realmd tabs.
What batch files? Need names sorry.
#3 To make a Death Knight you have to manually edit the database (using navicat sqlyog or something like that)

used the vmaps from your Arcane-Fire or
change mangosd.conf to say:
vmap.enableLOS = 0
vmap.enableHeight = 0
If you need an extractor download the older repacks they come with an extractor. Chec the older posts on this board. You will not be able to extract the wotlk though you will need and the older "tbc 2.4.3 <-- I think" installed.

Ok so I have a really stupid question to ask,, The patches can we upgrade our 2.4.3 client with them or is it just for the Wrath of the Lynch King client. Im kinda confused on this. I tried reading up on this on the WoW forums and I think I got the wrong impression of it. Cause you say there is an upgrade for the Arcane Fire to the wrath and I just want to make sure before i try any thing to my 2.4.3 client.

So far I have found that every thing seems to istall ok but character data seems to have an error. I had AHbot intalled and it says the line is already there. so I delete my AHbot account and disabled it in the mangosd.conf the server seems to work but I am unable to connect. Any Ideas guys?
ok now I found that when it asks for you email dont put the email in, put in the user name. I am such a gomer. So I can connect and the server is running but no characters.

mogrein's repack was pretty complete for it's version number, it's origin is the d3 site... there is also a patch that goes with it, but it stops at 8788 i believe... i used the sql from it and a repack for 8820 from the site, but it's missing enough that i now cannot see my buffs and am missing portions of ocean

ad.exe no longer seems to work on the newer builds and throws a lot of errors in the 39-70% range trying to build maps
is there a complete repack download that includes the maps?
well, I don't have an IRC but for now you guys can use my TeamSpeak Server... just put in the server address: wasabi.servegame.org
and the channel password which is changed to: reaper
then just put in a nickname and connect as anonymous. I will most likely be on it, if you don't have a mic then just send a text message to all under the channel tab.

i'm hoping theres some SQL guru's out there, when booting the server i noticed alot of spell id's and level stats were missing so i'm assuming they come from the deathknightdata.sql file, so i've tried to import it on SQLyog into the wotlk_world database, but i keep getting the same error, even after breaking down the individual segments in the file to seperate files, on each one i'm getting the following error,
Error Code: 1062 - Duplicate entry
now i've tried the logical route and searched for any duplicate entries but there are none, any ideas on how to fix it?

You have to delete the old entry befor you put in the new entry.

somehow my wotlk 8820 patch got corrupted so i uninstalled and reinstalled. i left the realmlist as default and let the program patch itself up instead of doing them all myself and it only patched up to 8820. how do i patch to the current 8885?
seriously, this importing the deathknightdata.sql is pissin me off. can someone break it down? i'm still pretty new to the DB factor. i get the same error that bav is getting. i know he fixed it, but he's offline asleep.

I just wanted to comment (and I'm sure that there will be backlash as a result), but what ever happened to the ever-reliable and easy to install Reaper-X releases?
It used to be that every release was tested and it was just a matter of running your installer program and making a few changes to the conf files and away we go.
I'm just a little curious that over the last few releases (that weren't put out by Reaper) that there have been endless problems and a degree required in MySQL and other programs.
Its just advice, but maybe it would be better not to announce that there is a release coming soon before it is thoroughly tested for release and ease of install.
As you can see by the 400-odd comments on this page alone, there are many uses who download your releases, and I've always been really impressed with the ease of installation and use - until recently.
I recommend in future, just release a good stable version that noobs can install and just play, and don't jump in too early with announcements...
Just a thought... but thanks for the effort!
personally i dont have a problem with the wotlk releases being so bad. its given me a reason to look deeper into mangos and learn more about it. im starting to learn about making patches and revisions
also, if you look around the net a bit, EVERYONE is having trouble with making mangos
That's the point though. I know that we're all keen as hell to get in and have a lash of it (me included), but its just not ready. And it puts heaps of pressure on Oatman and Colt45 to release it as soon as possible (scroll up and see how many people were busting their balls for it to be released) and as a result of an early release, it incorporates a whole heap of issues and ungrateful and unhappy people.
All I'm saying is that Reaper-X has a reputation out there in the MaNGOS community, and I'd hate for it to get too out of control and be shut down.

I'll finish by saying this, Mangos and everything that goes with it is a hobby, something you can pick up and put down when you have time, If something is taking its time to be released or something has some bugs in it. Reaper did have a rep for making very easy to install repacks and real life always comes first. I do agree with Rikiller though, but its possible that the updates are coming out so fast that they are just trying to keep up. I have been following along for a very long time and the repacks are getting harder to install or upgrade. I finnaly scrapped my characters and have decided to start over. Still we thank the "X" team and community for all their hard work.
biggest problem ive read about so far is that the beta updates are weekly and often screw up a lot of mangos. next biggest problem is that mangos doesnt officially support wotlk yet. next biggest is that everyone who wants to make it work is making their own patches and compiling these with other peoples patches...it all takes so much time and with everything happening so fast its really hard to keep up.
i wish people would leave reaper, oatman, and colt45 be and just let them do what they can when they can.

Ppl should start thinking, doing some things on their own, experimenting and learning from other ppls comments (like me) but most of all thinking.
Private servers are made by ppl who are only using it as a learning experience (as stated at mangos homepage).

if u have trouble with ppl connecting to your cpu i highly suggest just using hamachi
(really small easy tunnel program)
more or less we'll all be on the same virtual network through the tunnel and just set the realm IP to the IP hamachi gives u

you prolly patched up too high or too low, would suggest uninstalling and reinstalling the client and patches just up to 8788 then see what happens, btw i'd suggest you use a 3rd party download for the patches, links above for the patches

if u run the program and click the bottom middle button (join network) my network names is 'Big Marky' caps do matter - the pw is wow or give me the name you used when u hit the button to create a virtual network, then just leave the program running and i'll msg u there

thats how we used to do it back when i would play a pserver with my friends

To prevent further patching just change your realmlist.wtf file in the LichKing folder from
set realmlist 12.129.236.126
set patchlist us.version.worldofwarcraft.com
To whatever your IP is.
set realmlist 192.168.1.111
set patchlist 192.168.1.111
To find your IP you can run a command prompt and type IPCONFIG

it does have 1 initial error that passes just be patient u were standing there

Hi again:P about the vmaps problem i had last time, i noticed that it's about the 0004331.map file, wich according to Mangosd, does not exist. Does anybody else have this problem, or know how to fix it? i have tried to re-extract the map files over and over again, but it just happens again and again=/ im sure this is the last bump in the road before i can play:P
Okay, this is the weirdest thing. i just searched through the maps file, and the 0004331.map file DOES exist! then why the heck does the mangosd tell me that it doesn't?:S

Should be LoginDatabaseInfo = "127.0.0.1;3306;username;password;realm"
Username = what ever user name you set up in mysql to log in.
Password = what ever password you set up in mysql to log in.
realm = what ever user name you used for the realm database in mysql.
When you start it says the realmd Unkown datebase. That is because the realm.conf has the wrong realm name.
Are you upgrading or doing a fresh install?

then you will have all the commands
then type .commands to be able to see what u can do

in mangosd.conf yours will be like this

the only thing u need to change in ALL of them is wotlk_user to root and mangos to your mysql password
do that for all of them
I've done that but it remains wotlk_realmd" there must stand somewhting else there because when i start the realmd it complains about the database
And if i change the wotlk_realmd" to MySQl there is a diffrent text comming up when i start the Realmd
But i know what to do with the mangos and how to create an account the only thign i need help with is the wotlk_realmd" what is soposed to stand there for it to make the Realmd to start up properly ?

i know exactly what u did wrong
u made a database named wotlk_reamld in your SQLyog/navicat
but u need to execute a batch file on your realmd because right now there isnt anything in the database
its saying its looking for something that isnt there
if u look in the oatman folder under the database installer thing youll see 2 sqlfiles
one is called realmd and one is characters
u have to execute realmd on wotlk_realmd
and characters on wotlk_characters

go into your wotlk main folder and go into the data folder inside that and see if theres a folder either called enUS or enGB
if its enUS then reinstall wotlk
if its enGB
u need to get patches for enGB instead of enUS
and it doesnt matter where they are on your computer
i ran mine from the desktop

Go into mangosd.conf, and scroll down to the Motd option, it has an apostrophe in it you have to delete.
Hey, i have one problem, solution of which i couldn't find amongst all posts ...i did update the fire-arcane UR1 to wotlk rev 1 , and it's running fine until creature_template , and then it turns up that there should be 65 fields in sql...any solution??

eerm i did all this way : ur1 install -> fix -> upgrade to wotlk rev1 ...and i don't think this is caused by characters , i didn't do any ...im gonna try to execute batch files ,as it would be with fresh install of wotlk

i started navicat and i conected to mysql i see now that is says under mysql : wotlk_characters
wotlk_ralmd
wotlk_world
and some oter stuff above the lk_characters
hmm... run navicat, and make new connection (if U run it first time, it should pop-up, if not go "connection" in main tab and put any name (for example root) and leave the rest as it is, only add Ur mysql account (propably "root") and pass for it (U chose them while setup of mysql) ) , then double click on it (left side of navicat window), it should expand, and then U should have few db's , propably mysql, information_schema, test (leave them) and wotlk_realmd, wotlk_world and wotlk_characters (as i remember) , and then double click on wotlk_realmd, it should turn to green , then right click on it, and choose "execute batch file" . funny window will pop-up, and in it choose path to this wotlk_realmd.sql file (oatman's wotlk database) , dont change encoding, and click start, then execute, it should pass without any errors , and close, and be happy with working realmd ;] btw u must do the same with characters :)
