PS3 2.40 System Update Error!

Hello everybody this is Colt45 (the new author here), I have recently updated my Playstaion3 using wireless. But when I restarted my system after it finished installing it wouldn’t work! The PS3 turned on, but my wireless controller would not connect (even if it was plugged into the USB port) and on my screen it displayed the normal PS3 background but with no menu options… NONE! Below is a picture:

After PS3 Firmware 2.40 Update:

After PS3 Firmware 2.40 Update ... BAM

After Sony found out that their last patch messed up everyone’s consoles, Sony decides to release a new patch (2.41) that would fix the errors in 2.40. The only problem is that people with the same or similar problems CAN’T use the system update option to fix it because it is not shown on your menu and you cannot download it from a computer and use a USB device to transport it to the PS3 because the controller does not work so you can’t run it! When it all comes down to it… Sony just really screwed this one up!  :-P

Same thing has happened to my ps3. I rang up Sony today and they are replacing it for free even though my warrantee has ran out. All because of the software update. Can I just say why do they have updates (every 2 weeks just about) and you can’t go on playstation store if you haven’t updated the new software it’s not like that on Xbox 360 and ps3 has a web browser. So ???Why???

Oh, yah I downloaded it, doesn’t look like anything special, other than the “trophy” addon and a search tool

    See!
That’s why i use nintendo, sony doesn’t care if your psp doesn’t work anymore, they’re like oh darn, we missed this one! But no problem, we won’t help the ones that already are messed up, we don’t care!
Nintendo makes enough research to be sure it works at least!

I don’t think I’ve updated to that, will mine skip this glitchy patch you think?

Thanks Hackencraft I may try that!

Yea that does suck… You could try wiping the hard drive on a computer or something and put it back in the ps3 so that it reads it like you’ve upgraded the drive and go from there?
