Reaper Mangos 5472 – Easy WoW Private Server for World of Warcraft 2.3.3

I think the previous release of Reaper Mangos that is released 1 month ago can be considered as outdate, and … so i decided that perhaps a new Reaper Mangos release for WoW 2.3.3 version probably will be better although there’ll be new patch coming up from Blizzard (based from the Blizzard announcement displayed on WoW Launcher) … but well … even if there’s new patch you can always revert back to 2.3.3 or create two world of warcraft directory just in case you also play on official server ;)

Noggenfogger Elixir

Like the previous release this new Reaper Mangos 5472 include auction house bot to automatically populate your Auction House with random items, and also multithreading maps that probably useful especially to those who are using dual core processor, and of course also contains the latest available Scriptdev (297), and World Database from UDB and PSDB (UDB 343 and PSDB X9) or in other words dual database and finally i also include the previous Custom Vendors just in case someone use it :)

But since there are too many changes too be listed from the last release, i’d suggest you to backup your character data first before running the upgrade process (to those who are upgrading their installation but if you’re installing for the first time, you can just ignore this), just in case something goes wrong :)

Fresh Installation Instruction:

1. Make sure your processor support SSE Instruction, if you don’t know what is SSE all about, you just need to know what processor you’re using (Open System Properties via Control Panel, or press Windows Key + Pause/Break) and basically if you’re …

running at least Pentium 3 (Intel Processor)
or running at least Athlon XP (AMD Processor) or newer AMD Duron series but not AMD Thunderbird

You don’t need to worry about it :)

2. Make sure you have .NET Framework Installed (grab it from Microsoft website) or you’ll get error message saying The application failed to initialize properly (0xc0000135) when you run it

Note: if you have fast connection speed you can choose to download the .NET Framework 3.5 (197 MB) instead of .NET 2.0 (22.4 MB)

3. When you have .NET Framework installed, all you have to do is just read my previous post about Reaper Mangos Installation Instruction (i’m really sorry i haven’t updated it yet to reflect the changes made since Reaper Mangos 5225)

But basically all you have to do to install it is just run reaper-x-mangos inside reaper-eazy-mangos directory, and then choose option 1 to install it, and then continue with option 4 to configure the data directory and you’re done :)

Upgrading Instruction:

1. Choose to upgrade from reaper-x-mangos menu

2. and then don’t forget to choose the current database you’re using in order to upgrade it

Important Note to those who are upgrading:

If you have made custom items, tele, etc. AND using PSDB as your database make sure that you backup the custom items, etc. first because it’ll overwrite your world database but if you’re using UDB as your database, then it’ll automatically gets upgraded (but to be safe, backup your custom items first)

Switching Database:

All you have to do is just choose option 7 on reaper-x-mangos and done :P … but please note, switching database will overwrite any custom items you’ve made

Misc. Section:

Set up Mangos as Windows Service:

In order to set up mangos to run as service (windows), all you have to do is just :

1. Open Command Prompt

2. Change directory to where mangosd.exe and realmd.exe can be found (for example C:\ReaperMangos5472) by typing :

cd C:\ReaperMangos5472

cd /d C:\ReaperMangos5472

3. and then to install the realmd.exe and mangosd.exe as service, you need to type these:

mangosd.exe -s install realmd.exe -s install

to install it as windows service … or type …

mangosd.exe -s uninstall realmd.exe -s uninstall

to uninstall / remove it from windows service

OR if you prefer a more direct way of doing it … you can type:

C:\ReaperMangos5472\mangosd.exe -s install / -s uninstall

directly without changing directory first

Well i hope i’ve covered it all and didn’t miss anything … but if you still have any question feel free to post your question below or at the forum :)

as a side note, the GM Commands page has been updated too, so don’t forget to check it out if you’re looking for the easiest way to lookup GM Commands in Mangos ;)

As a last note, if you get a virus alert from your Antivirus saying that reaper-x-mangos.exe is a Trojan, Suspicious File, Malicious File, etc. You can ignore that message, i guarantee that file is clean and that is a false alert / alarm generated by your antivirus software. And you can always send that file to your antivirus vendor so they can inspect that file directly

Ok heres a tip if you get the issue cannot connect from ‘hostname’
go to CMD type in
mysql -u root -p
password.

then

GRANT ALL ON database.* TO ‘root’@'hostname’ IDENTIFIED BY ‘yourPassword’;

Where ‘hostname’ is the host / IP address where you’re connecting from.

Okay, when I go to run the Reaper-x mangos bat… It says I either specified the wrong path, or do not have permission? I am running Windows Vista, any advice for what to do here?

Many people say cuff links are in the past, but from experience, they are wrong. Cufflinks are here to stay, maybe to dress up at weddings, special events or for a simple good time. Cufflinks really do give a formal egde and everytime I gift a pair to someone, they think it’s the best thing to happen to them since Michael Jackson did the moonwalk.

Rocky what exactly are you trying to do? Reaper-x-mangos.exe is the name of the file you download from above that contains all the files you need to run the program to play wow. If you are referring to a file named that it is in the folder you download from above to start the script. thanks wrath

I have been trying to set up my server for 2.4.2, that is the current version I have of WoW, but I can’t get ad.exe to stop crashing at 41%. I run Vista. Could someone tell me what I’m doing wrong, if I need a specific version of it, or if I maybe have too much stuff in my WoW folder.. Or really simply someone have the maps for 2.4.2 >.>

I have wow version 2.4.2 and when i create the server and try to log on, it gives me an error that the game cannot validate the version. I belive this is due to the fact this server creates a 2.3.3 server, could someone tell me how to downgrade my wow, or where to upgrade magnos, any help would be appreciated.

and i tought of deleting them one by one…but picture this!… over 500 mob on each map… X20 ? hell no T_T would thake me days doing the hole thing whit cartogrphe :S so if somone have a patch or…anything ! i need it

works perfectly yes but.. i still got a major prolem :S it looks like in the outland ….(nagrand , hellfire , netherstorm ,blade edge and shadow moon ) there are massive spawns of mob and when i mean massive …its amazing ..like 20 time the same mob at one spot…now i dont know if you noticed it or if its me but only zangarmarsh dont have this problem all mo are perfectly spawned :S and it hapen only in outland and i will like allso to know how to fix illidan…when he get to 50% evyone just…die when he calls the 6 eyed demons …if somone know how to fix my problemes please contact me at a-c-lock@hotmail.com (hotmail not msn…) becuz i would love to run this server perfectly with out mob spawning geting a lil funzy thx

If the exe is missing your anti virus removed it because it thinks its a trojan. (This is waht you get for using Norton it can’t tell the difference between a virus and a simple exe) AVG FOR THE WIN!

Hope I can get some help. I’ve just upgraded from reaper’s 5225 to 5472 preparing for the release of 2.4.2 package. Everything seems fine, but when I go to log in to a character, I immediately get disconnected from server and the following message appears at the mangos>

Nvm. I got it to work. But I am currently lacking a reaper-x-mangos.exe in my folder. Anyone wanna shed some light on this. I downloaded it from the only source that didn’t bug me for subscription, which I believe was MediaFire.

Ummmmmm, why is it that every site you people upload the maps and vmaps to keeps bullshitting me for “premium” access to download? I mean, isn’t there a single damned free uploading site that can be used? If not, then, lol. I am currently trying to get this version to work and the only thing I am missing is the maps. Extractor doesn’t work for shit, unless double-clicking it isn’t the right way to iniatialize the process. Help would be appreciated on this.

ANYHOW MAKE SURE TO SPREAD THE WORD THAT REAPER-X.COM IS COMING BACK IN BUISNESS!

I don’t really think that even if Reaper doesn’t support your compile that it will be that big of a deal. Yeah lots of newbs on this site might really mess up their WOW servers by attempting to use your compile because it doesn’t have a “Click me and your server is updated and good to go” button like Reaper’s but that’s their decision. I know that I’ll be using your compile because it won’t affect my upgrade from Reaper’s previous compile to yours and then back to his next one.

Changing from Reaper’s compile to yours and back to his is as easy as dumping your character and realmd databases into a backup folder and then reloading it when you upgrade. But I know that many do not explore what they can do and just stick with what their given. Please if you will can you compile a release for those of us that know what were doing and just let those that don’t experiment at their own risk? Just make sure you put a warning up saying the risks and it will be fine. Thanks in advance for whatever decision you make.

Copy The Install To Another Spot On Your Pc. Although It Would Be Hard If He Releases It For 2.4.1 or 2.4 cuz if i am not mistaken the public client is at patch 2.4.2 (which mangos supports or at least ascent does even though its not the official ascent) But Apparently WotLK is At 3.0.1 or sumthing i have the downloader for it fromn the link that was leaked and shut down the last i heard of

I have a quick question. I will still want to play WoW on the live server from time to time. So can I have two installations of WoW on one PC so I do not have to upgrade for live then go back to 2.33 for the server.

Like say have:
C:\Program Files\WoW\World of Warcraft < 2.3.3 version

and at the same time have a

C:\Program files\World of Warcraft < Live version

Both on the same PC?

Well I didn’t think of that, but couldent you just back up your custome stuff and do a fresh install? I mean he makes it so easy… I havent found one as easy as his yet, but my players are getting pissy about bugs, so I’m just wanting to see if the new patch and mangos buid fix that. oh-well, what ever you decide, I’m, and many others, are at the mercy of thoes of you who knows WTF your doing.. :)
