Reaper Mangos 5472 – Easy WoW Private Server for World of Warcraft 2.3.3

I think the previous release of Reaper Mangos that is released 1 month ago can be considered as outdate, and … so i decided that perhaps a new Reaper Mangos release for WoW 2.3.3 version probably will be better although there’ll be new patch coming up from Blizzard (based from the Blizzard announcement displayed on WoW Launcher) … but well … even if there’s new patch you can always revert back to 2.3.3 or create two world of warcraft directory just in case you also play on official server ;)

Noggenfogger Elixir

Like the previous release this new Reaper Mangos 5472 include auction house bot to automatically populate your Auction House with random items, and also multithreading maps that probably useful especially to those who are using dual core processor, and of course also contains the latest available Scriptdev (297), and World Database from UDB and PSDB (UDB 343 and PSDB X9) or in other words dual database and finally i also include the previous Custom Vendors just in case someone use it :)

But since there are too many changes too be listed from the last release, i’d suggest you to backup your character data first before running the upgrade process (to those who are upgrading their installation but if you’re installing for the first time, you can just ignore this), just in case something goes wrong :)

Fresh Installation Instruction:

1. Make sure your processor support SSE Instruction, if you don’t know what is SSE all about, you just need to know what processor you’re using (Open System Properties via Control Panel, or press Windows Key + Pause/Break) and basically if you’re …

running at least Pentium 3 (Intel Processor)
or running at least Athlon XP (AMD Processor) or newer AMD Duron series but not AMD Thunderbird

You don’t need to worry about it :)

2. Make sure you have .NET Framework Installed (grab it from Microsoft website) or you’ll get error message saying The application failed to initialize properly (0xc0000135) when you run it

Note: if you have fast connection speed you can choose to download the .NET Framework 3.5 (197 MB) instead of .NET 2.0 (22.4 MB)

3. When you have .NET Framework installed, all you have to do is just read my previous post about Reaper Mangos Installation Instruction (i’m really sorry i haven’t updated it yet to reflect the changes made since Reaper Mangos 5225)

But basically all you have to do to install it is just run reaper-x-mangos inside reaper-eazy-mangos directory, and then choose option 1 to install it, and then continue with option 4 to configure the data directory and you’re done :)

Upgrading Instruction:

1. Choose to upgrade from reaper-x-mangos menu

2. and then don’t forget to choose the current database you’re using in order to upgrade it

Important Note to those who are upgrading:

If you have made custom items, tele, etc. AND using PSDB as your database make sure that you backup the custom items, etc. first because it’ll overwrite your world database but if you’re using UDB as your database, then it’ll automatically gets upgraded (but to be safe, backup your custom items first)

Switching Database:

All you have to do is just choose option 7 on reaper-x-mangos and done :P … but please note, switching database will overwrite any custom items you’ve made

Misc. Section:

Set up Mangos as Windows Service:

In order to set up mangos to run as service (windows), all you have to do is just :

1. Open Command Prompt

2. Change directory to where mangosd.exe and realmd.exe can be found (for example C:\ReaperMangos5472) by typing :

cd C:\ReaperMangos5472

cd /d C:\ReaperMangos5472

3. and then to install the realmd.exe and mangosd.exe as service, you need to type these:

mangosd.exe -s install realmd.exe -s install

to install it as windows service … or type …

mangosd.exe -s uninstall realmd.exe -s uninstall

to uninstall / remove it from windows service

OR if you prefer a more direct way of doing it … you can type:

C:\ReaperMangos5472\mangosd.exe -s install / -s uninstall

directly without changing directory first

Well i hope i’ve covered it all and didn’t miss anything … but if you still have any question feel free to post your question below or at the forum :)

as a side note, the GM Commands page has been updated too, so don’t forget to check it out if you’re looking for the easiest way to lookup GM Commands in Mangos ;)

As a last note, if you get a virus alert from your Antivirus saying that reaper-x-mangos.exe is a Trojan, Suspicious File, Malicious File, etc. You can ignore that message, i guarantee that file is clean and that is a false alert / alarm generated by your antivirus software. And you can always send that file to your antivirus vendor so they can inspect that file directly

Good to hear from you since we haven’t heard from Reaper in awhile. Are you saying that you would compile a release for us if you still had access to this site? Couldn’t you just place a link to rapidshare or magaupload within your comment? I would really appriciate it since the new releases have supported 2.4 for awhile now. I’m thinking about just going to projectsilvermoon.net myself since I’m just about done waiting for the next release.

I feel the frustration some of you feel. Reaper should be able to pop out an update easily because everything is available for it to happen. I guess he must be really busy or still hasn’t fixed his internet issue.

I was waiting because i like the easy updates. But i guess I’m going to turn to projectsilvermoon.net. There you can download the latest DB, you can download mangos servers from other people (much like reaper’s own), and there are some FAQs there. Not was easy to implement as Reaper’s releases, but not that hard either if you already have some experience.

Yea, i just downloaded everything i need from there and after finals im going to put my server back up with the latest version. If some of you are still waiting waiting, i would recommend checking the site out. They’ve had the latest version there for about a month already.

Just trying to help by suggesting alternatives.

Where the hell is the new release?! I’m sorry, but all of the players on my private WoW server start to quit it! I’m loosing players, cuz they all want version 2.4.0 and I don’t have it! Is the Mangos release for ver 2.4.0 gonna be usable in this year??? Or maybe 2009? :|

There Is No 3.x.x Patch Only As High As 2.4.2
And No If The Server Is 2.3.3 You Must Have Your Client At 2.3.3 It Isn’t An Ascent Server Where As Long As The Dbc Number Is Same You Can Login.

1. Make Sure Your Cache Folder Is Empty,
2. Make Sure Your Client Is At 2.3.3,
3. If Those Don’t Work Grab Your Map Folders Again
And Make Sure They Are In The Right Directory(Or Else Mangos Won’t Start)

Oh, and yes I have the expansion installed as well. I’m sure I enabled the expansion anyways… I reloaded my dumped characters so it should automatically be enabled for that. I’m sure I hit “1″ when it asked about the expansion in Reaper’s Batch file. Man I have a headache. :(

Your private server won’t be exactly like the real server… it’ll be awhile before the boss do their ‘moves’. Some might work but I’m sure most don’t use their moves. Just like the creeps walk through walls and floors, it will take awhile for them to fix it since it already works and its not their main concern.

@Anyone who can help

I have a small problem that I need help with. My previous 5 versions worked but when I did a fresh install this time somehow Silvermoon and the place next to it completely disappeared. The buildings and everything in those areas are missing.

I set the server up and enabled the expansion but the bloodelf and other new class are grayed out. Which I believe is causing the two places that I noticed to be gone. What’s strange though is that my friend has a bloodelf warlock and is able to play… but you can’t create new. I’m puzzled as you can see, it’s probably something really simple. I was thinking of waiting for the next release and re-extract everything to see if that will fix it. Any help would be appreciated.

I havent used this since version 4xxx, because instances were not working properly, i.e bosses were just standing there and auto-attacking, not doing any of their ‘moves’. Is this still the case in version 5472? Or do I need to manually update the scripts dev?

oops, scratch my last post about addons..was my own stupidity lol. i loaded newer versions of the addon that wasn’t compatible with the version i’m running (2.3 instead of 2.3.3 (pointless improvements i don’t care for in 2.3.3))

Hey Reaper, Addons such as Atlas Loot Enhanced aren’t working. The addon window loads from the icon around the minimap, but when i click on that addon icon, the window that comes up is blank. I tried browsing through the loot menu, and there are no menus present. Any idea why addons don’t work? They used to in previous releases of your server..

Oh, and remeber to make the quest repeatable, and that you test it with GM off. For some reason I could never teleport while GM was on.

I hope this can help with the npc teleport. This is what I previously did to get a NPC to teleport characters to a location. First, using Quice, I created a simple quest with no requirements, (which is completed the moment the NPC is talked to) that had a (beginning or ending script, your choice), the action is #6 and you get the coordinates by typing .gps while in gm mode at the location in which you wish to teleport to (probably best to do this before hand). This can literally be anywhere, just remember to include the map #, also given by .gps
Hope this is of some help or at least helps out some.

hmmm… interesting idea. But I’m not an expert for scripting in WOW but i’ll try to explain. Seems to me like you are trying to combine a merchant with a static teleport npc. Or, an npc that is like a class trainer but casts static teleport spells instead. I would suggest that you get the program Quice first. You should be able to embed the NPC script into yer database fairly easy with it, it’s a great program. Then, I would search over at the ScriptDev2 site for further help in obtaining a working sql code for your npc. But one thing is for sure…. You’ll need Quice or someother form of SQL database manager like SQLyog to import the code. after I get my instances fixed for my server, I’ll try to see if i can hammer out an sql dump of a working npc code. Either way, i highly suggest getting both programs for creating custom content in the future. i have seen in forums also elsewhere on tips and tricks for creating teleport npcs that should help you get started. With just a little bit of research you should find your answers easily.

I have everything set up, and its all working and I can log in, but for some reason npcs will not enter combat correctly. I’ll attack them, and their health will regenerate while I’m attacking them. I’ve already made sure that the health regenerate was set at only 1x so that it doesn’t do anything. What do I need to do to fix this?

I Have Made My Own Mangos But I Am Used To Compiling Ascent It Is Easier To Use When Compiling, However With Mangos I Have The Latest And Latest Silvermoon And It Wont Work Even After I Applied All Patches And I Know It Has Been Supporting 2.4.1 for a while my home forum is ragezone i go through mainly the wow,gunz,travian and rs sections. i just hate compiling my own server for mangos
