Reaper Mangos 5472 – Easy WoW Private Server for World of Warcraft 2.3.3

I think the previous release of Reaper Mangos that is released 1 month ago can be considered as outdate, and … so i decided that perhaps a new Reaper Mangos release for WoW 2.3.3 version probably will be better although there’ll be new patch coming up from Blizzard (based from the Blizzard announcement displayed on WoW Launcher) … but well … even if there’s new patch you can always revert back to 2.3.3 or create two world of warcraft directory just in case you also play on official server ;)

Noggenfogger Elixir

Like the previous release this new Reaper Mangos 5472 include auction house bot to automatically populate your Auction House with random items, and also multithreading maps that probably useful especially to those who are using dual core processor, and of course also contains the latest available Scriptdev (297), and World Database from UDB and PSDB (UDB 343 and PSDB X9) or in other words dual database and finally i also include the previous Custom Vendors just in case someone use it :)

But since there are too many changes too be listed from the last release, i’d suggest you to backup your character data first before running the upgrade process (to those who are upgrading their installation but if you’re installing for the first time, you can just ignore this), just in case something goes wrong :)

Fresh Installation Instruction:

1. Make sure your processor support SSE Instruction, if you don’t know what is SSE all about, you just need to know what processor you’re using (Open System Properties via Control Panel, or press Windows Key + Pause/Break) and basically if you’re …

running at least Pentium 3 (Intel Processor)
or running at least Athlon XP (AMD Processor) or newer AMD Duron series but not AMD Thunderbird

You don’t need to worry about it :)

2. Make sure you have .NET Framework Installed (grab it from Microsoft website) or you’ll get error message saying The application failed to initialize properly (0xc0000135) when you run it

Note: if you have fast connection speed you can choose to download the .NET Framework 3.5 (197 MB) instead of .NET 2.0 (22.4 MB)

3. When you have .NET Framework installed, all you have to do is just read my previous post about Reaper Mangos Installation Instruction (i’m really sorry i haven’t updated it yet to reflect the changes made since Reaper Mangos 5225)

But basically all you have to do to install it is just run reaper-x-mangos inside reaper-eazy-mangos directory, and then choose option 1 to install it, and then continue with option 4 to configure the data directory and you’re done :)

Upgrading Instruction:

1. Choose to upgrade from reaper-x-mangos menu

2. and then don’t forget to choose the current database you’re using in order to upgrade it

Important Note to those who are upgrading:

If you have made custom items, tele, etc. AND using PSDB as your database make sure that you backup the custom items, etc. first because it’ll overwrite your world database but if you’re using UDB as your database, then it’ll automatically gets upgraded (but to be safe, backup your custom items first)

Switching Database:

All you have to do is just choose option 7 on reaper-x-mangos and done :P … but please note, switching database will overwrite any custom items you’ve made

Misc. Section:

Set up Mangos as Windows Service:

In order to set up mangos to run as service (windows), all you have to do is just :

1. Open Command Prompt

2. Change directory to where mangosd.exe and realmd.exe can be found (for example C:\ReaperMangos5472) by typing :

cd C:\ReaperMangos5472

cd /d C:\ReaperMangos5472

3. and then to install the realmd.exe and mangosd.exe as service, you need to type these:

mangosd.exe -s install realmd.exe -s install

to install it as windows service … or type …

mangosd.exe -s uninstall realmd.exe -s uninstall

to uninstall / remove it from windows service

OR if you prefer a more direct way of doing it … you can type:

C:\ReaperMangos5472\mangosd.exe -s install / -s uninstall

directly without changing directory first

Well i hope i’ve covered it all and didn’t miss anything … but if you still have any question feel free to post your question below or at the forum :)

as a side note, the GM Commands page has been updated too, so don’t forget to check it out if you’re looking for the easiest way to lookup GM Commands in Mangos ;)

As a last note, if you get a virus alert from your Antivirus saying that reaper-x-mangos.exe is a Trojan, Suspicious File, Malicious File, etc. You can ignore that message, i guarantee that file is clean and that is a false alert / alarm generated by your antivirus software. And you can always send that file to your antivirus vendor so they can inspect that file directly

I don’t think your spawns will disappear. I spawned some instance bosses here and there and they were still there after i updated.

Here is the tank I use now for level 40’s instant cast but no flaying. The instant cast is addictive though.

I think you can chance replace to INSERT for adding it first time or maybe it’s already in there not sure..

Updated today to 5472 and all went smoothly. I have also updated an old 5116 installation up to 5472, with no problems at all.

Yes, I too had problems migrating the accounts from 5225 to 5472… but my problems were related to the fact that I was updating three realms and had to restore the REALMD database each time so that it would upgraded each time… long story.

I’m a bit baffled. I’ve been trying for over a month now but can’t figure out a way to find what a player’s level is based on the DB. Does anyone know? Is it a calculation passed on “leveltime”?

I have an interesting problem. I have the second realm up and running, and when I log into wow, I can choose either realm.. The problem is that when I log out of one realm, and it takes me back to the character list, and I click change realm, it just says retrieving realm list. It will not bring the list of realms back up until I completely exit wow, and log in again.

Any ideas?

I’ve been trying to replicate the problem by fresh installing 5225 and then upgrade into 5472 but the realmd table gets updated too (which means i dont see any problem at all because the realm-up.sql that changes the ‘I’ column into ’sha_pass_hash’ in realmd table gets executed) :(

btw here’s the code:

are you running mysql 6.0? :) if so try running mysql 5.0 instead ;)

That means you are not using compatible wow version (in this case you’ll need to use wow 2.3.3 only because that’s the only version supported in this release) ;)

@informative Thanks as well, I haven’t messed with sqylog yet, guess it’s about time. btw, I rebuilt the DB again with Ver. 5225, and it works fine. Seems like for the new version, it’s not even loading the realmd.exe file… I’ll try what you said though, much appreciated guys!

The problem to your issue, is the IP address you had set in your database.

It demand alot on your setup for WOW server.
Are you using another PC to access the WOW PC? If you are, you will need to configure the IP address of your database to the router.

@informative try going into the DB and changing the spawn number to a 3 or 4 digit entry becuase it might be that your DB isn’t reading the entry item correctly and this may be the reason since on my server im using project silvermoon DB which allows high item ID exceptions try backing up your Character DB then importing into the Project Silvermoon DB and try that if option 1 doesnt work

I added the new griffin mount to my Gadgetzan vendor says 300 some odd gold and I have enough gold but when I try to buy the item it says the item was not found. Tried manually adding with

.additem 304561

Can’t create item 304561 (count 1)

I’ve had lots of problems with custom items in this release

and btw it has no cast time it is a trinket as soon as you equip it with .gm on then youw ill automatically be mounted and im adding the DND++ mount speed spell to it as well so it is instant on equip

then macro .fly on
and click or macro cast the instant mount spell.

No cast time
Of course GM can always .mod aspeed 7
or whatever and don’t need a mount.

@Agusdfnjs: The “I” field if I guess correctly was the password field which was renamed to sha-hash-pass. New name which seems to make more sense for a password encrypted field than just “I”

I heard of this server company from a buddy at work the other day. He runs web servers and mentioned setting up a dedicated Wow server. He recommended ABMX.com ’cause they’re really low priced, and they do live over-the-phone tech support. No indians! lol ya thought i’d mention it…

Ok can this new release help me edit the world database as much as i like cause i really wish to chnage most things from PSD …. Also in PSD i notice they added some npc whom channel spells but it doesn’t cast it just continues casting …ect AT a portal looks wicke di wish to add them to the GM island also i wanted to add the floating rocks/tree from outland to gmisland i am getting the hang of working with mangos just wish we could edit the world more :-p lovely release btw i’ll update and check it out…

i have a problem. The server works fine butt not the sql! i use minimanager to create accounts and it doesen’t work it says “Unknown column ‘I’ in ‘field list’” something must be wrong with the sql!

Any one having a problem where when you make new accounts, they never work. They’re in the database but when you try to login, it says incorrect username / password. My first account works but none of the new ones do.

ok since this recent patch, everytime i go to log into my server through the WOW log in i get this message: Unable to Validate Game Version.

any suggestions or tips on how to fix this. Ive tried deleting and reinstalling everything.

The renaming Mangos directory is mainly to ensure old DLL’s are such are out of the way. I’ve had those cause problems. I’ve also had problems with MySQL which were resolved by dropping the database entirely and recreating them.

MySQL also LOVES it when you completely uninstall it and delete the MySql data folders and reboot then install it and reboot then configure it and reboot. Yes rebooting each time. Then reinstall the databases after all of that. Don’t ask me why, but might explain why it’s free.

@bonehead. If I have problems I do as follows.

Backup characters and realmd DATABASES
rename c:\Mangos to mangosMMDDYYwhatever
Create a new C:\Mangos
Install everything
Test it is working in 127.0.0.1 IP mode to self

Drop Characters Database (not just table)
Drop RealmD Database (not table)
Restore from backed up databases from step 1
Run the char-up.sql and realm-up.sql
Update all CONF files for lan/inet play
Reinstall any custom items/vendors/portals

That’s about how my upgrade went. It requires a little competency with SQLYOG or similar tools to understand what each step is calling for here but if you grasp most of what this is saying, and have maybe one or two questions. Throw the ??’s here I will help if I can.

Bonehead don’t think it’s the SSE giving you the error problem. I don’t have SSE either and still using .net 2.0 and mysql 5.0 and don’t have any issues. Running on P II 2.1G, 1G DDR ram. Never had any loading issues and surprised 5225 works, for ya, if that is the one your using. You may try to upgrade more RAM that might fix the problem.

well, i’ve stumbled my way through three versions of reaper mangos, and I have to say this is the shiznit, but you already knew that ;> Problem is realmd and mangosd are closing with an error right after they open. Had the same problem with oatman’s version (4116?), but 5000 series were working fine until this one. I do not have a SSE capable pc… kinda suprized anything ran on my OLD 700mhz pc133 POS in the first place. Can’t afford a new one, so that’s OOTQ. Just curios if it’s the SSE that’s causing the error, and if you plan on using it for all newer versions you’re going to make. BTW it seems last time the only things I did to fix it before was upgraded .NET to 3.5, and changed to Igor Pavlov version. Can’t upgrade .NET any higher, and this is a Igor version. Couldn’t find any help last time, so I’m throwing this post on for anyone else having the same problem. Thanks again!

Hey reaper at the very top of ur guide or speech thingy (lolz). You cant really create 2 dirs for world of warcraft unless u edit the registery. i have the reg keys indeed but i cbf putting em up on megaupload,rapidshare w/e cause my bandwidth is low and it will prob take ages.

Yea a lil pointless post but i guess its better than nothing xD
