Reaper Mangos 5225 - Easy WoW 2.3.3 Private Server

Since the situation here has been resolved (Thanks God, although it’s still raining here but well at least i hope there’ll be no floods again), i’ve decided to release another update for Reaper Mangos :D so to those who are wondering whether there’ll be another Mangos update for WoW 2.3.3 here is my answer ;) … and just like before this update contains Project Silvermoon Database and Unified Database so you can switch between them freely (and choose which database suit you best) ;) … other than that i also included several other custom patches (i’m not too sure whether it’s stable or not but i guess you can check it by yourself)
To summarize it … the custom patches that gets added into this version are:
- Auction House BOT
- Spell Damage Correction
- Quality Based Variable Loot Drops
- Multithreaded Map
And using :
- Mangos Core 5225
- Scriptdev2 254
- Project Silvermoon (PSDB) X7 with changesets 223 applied
- Unified Database (UDB) with changesets 338 applied
Also i’ve made lots of adjustments / changes / whatever you called it into the reaper-x-mangos so to those who are new into Mangos World can also setup their own WoW Private server easily like function to repair database automatically (just in case your database crashed), better checking, etc and will probably add more feature in the future … and well basically that’s all about it :)
Note: I have only tested it on Windows XP SP2 only because i do not have Vista, Windows 2003 Server, Windows 2000, Windows 98 / ME installed
As for the instruction manual to those who are going to perform fresh installation, you can follow below link for the instruction on how to use it (the most important part is the MySQL Installation and Data Extraction)
- Reaper Mangos Installation Guide (the instruction is a little bit outdated because i’ve made lots of changes into the reaper-x-mangos and i’ll update it later or will rewrite it) … but you do not need to worry because basically the installation instruction is just the same :)
- Instruction on how to use Auction House BOT (look at the Using Data Restored from my normal Mangos release or other release section, step number 9, i’m sorry that is from the old release and i’ll make sure to rewrite it again later to provide better explanation)
- as for activating other feature such as Quality Based Variable Loots and MultiThreaded Maps, you can take a look at mangosd.conf directly
And to those who wants to upgrade from Reaper Mangos 5116 into this version, all you have to do is just run the reaper-x-mangos and choose to upgrade it (i’ve decided to merge it into one file to make future changes easier) … but make sure to create backup first before doing it, and to create a backup all you have to do is just choose option number 2 and the backup file will be saved under backup folder in reaper-eazy-mangos directory :)

And finally if you get a virus alert from your Antivirus saying that reaper-x-mangos.exe is a Trojan, Suspicious File, etc … you can ignore that message, i guarantee that file is clean and that is a false alert / alarm generated by your antivirus (i have Kaspersky 7, NOD32 v3 and AVG Free installed on my machine and always make sure that everything here is clean) … and as a side note, AVG previously marked that file as virus but i send them an email message saying that is a false alert and received a reply from them in just 1 day (if you want i can post their reply here) :)
p.s If you would like to share your extracted DBC Files (from WoW 2.3.3 other than enUS), VMaps and Maps (from WoW 2.3.3 Client any region because it’s impossible for me to upload it), by uploading it to your favorite file sharing website, i’d be delighted to put the link here for other to download. And all you have to do is just leave a comment on where you’ve uploaded that file ;) … or if you know some other Mangos tools that might be useful to those who use Mangos, it’d be great if you could post some more info about it and where to get it :D

I really like the new installation interface. Granted I always set up my network manually in SQLyog, but everything else looked spot on!

Having lots of crashes with displayid = 0 errors. I think it has to do with morphing.
I'm up and running without any problems at all.
I morph alot of the players in my family to gnomes all the time without any errors. I also use (.setvalue 153 image id#) to set new images for my family's character without any errors or crashing, with both 5116 and 5225 now.
I am currently running 5116 on one computer and 5225 on another computer as my test server, both accessable from the same realm list without any crashing or errors so far.

I love the work you've done, the server works great save for one note. I cannot create a Warrior 'class' character, I get the error

lol, i messed up big time. i was trying something out yesterday and kind of destroyed my MySQL database :) now nothing works even though i've reinstalled it so i'm going to do a fresh instalation now :P

and my drop rate isn't working right
I am running a server for the crew of my ship and I posted a request for a html account request site...I never got any of them to work for some reason. if you have one that works could I get a link please. BTW I love this stuff I am learning so much about sql and batch files, I am currently tring to make a server for Hellgate London. I am having some difficulties when starting the mangos.exe file. It starts loading and then get to "Loading Corpses" and then a message on a new window says "Mangos.exe has stopped working and needs to close" Running this computer on vista by the way.

Everything seems too work correctly, but the configure/install exe(reaper-x-mangos.exe) seems too add 6 copies of the rate.drop.items line. Might be an issue with the configure file or it might just be a problem on my computer. easy fix, and it looks good though.

It's not just you. It did it for me as well. Easy fix though. I just removed the extra entries and all is well.

I had this problem with one of the earlier rev's.
I did some digging and it turned out that my 'character_queststatus' table was corrupted. **that was the table that would not load for me**
sounds like it may be your 'corpse' table in the 'character' database. Use Sqlyog to give it a look and see if there are any strange entries. (if you have experience with SQL)
If you have a fresh install I would re-install Mangos and the DB. If you are upgrading, do a character back-up and reinstall fresh. That fixed my issue.

Problems changing the drop rate, changed it from 1 to 50, 80 100 and it just gets worse.
It is set to 100 at the moment but the drops seem to be default.

I noticed that the money drop scales accordingly to your settings, but I did notice that the item drop has not changed. I'm going to do some digging and see if I cant figure this out.
I did notice that using the reaper config puts several entries in the mangos.conf for drop rates. try to manually remove all but one and see if that helps.
what gameplay bugs though? is fargodeep working? level12 redemption quest?

Deleted all the ones but one, still having the same problem. Just an idea does the apps convert to 80 or .8, at 80 the drop rates is worst then default.
DBC link is dead. It wouldn't really be a problem if i could get the extractor to work, but it always gives an error when i try to extract dbc.

Just tested it. Money scales perfectly. went from 0-500 in 10x increments. Worked fine.
Items on the other hand are not. Mangosd is not seeing the setting in the Config file for 'Rate.Drop.Items'
I set it from 0 - 100 and there was never a change in the average amount of loot. This could be a couple things, but I'm leaning toward a Mangos 'core' issue.
If I come up with something I will let everyone know.

I place all the DBC extraction files (copy/paste) in my '..\world of warcraft\data\EN(xx)\' folder and haven't had a problem.
What errors are you getting when you try to extract?

Hi Guys! Just wanted to say that I am seeing the same thing with the Drop rate in the mangos.conf. You get a few instances of the item drop line and even if you remove the others, leaving just one, it seems to have no effect.
I even tried removing the 's' from the word "items" in case it was a typo in the config but no joy.
I guess there is something fundamentally wrong with this particular variable, hence why it is initially created so many times?
Once that is sorted, this will be an absolutely awesome release (not that it's not already awesome) :D
Does anyone know if you really need to have World of Warcraft loaded on you computer you have your server loaded on?
I keep a backup of the DBC and maps folders of the current release of WoW and just copy it to my reaper-x folder called "data". Then change the path in mangos.cof file.
It seem to work ok. Has anyone else ever not installed WoW on there game server?
Well it looks like the mangos is not 'calling' for that variable in the mangosd.conf file (for Rate.Drop.Items).
Most likely an omitted/REM'd line in the core code before it was compiled. Heck could even have been a typo.
Prolly have to wait until the next release for a fix. Unless I can get my slimy little hands on Reaper's source...
Hello everyone, well it seems i made a mistake during the regex operation used when replacing the mangosd.conf (if you're using reaper-x-mangos to adjust the config file) and i'm really sorry for this and it'll be fixed in next release (or i'll upload a fixed reaper-x-mangos again)
to fix it you'll need to open mangosd.conf and search for

as i said before i take virus / security report seriously and my file doesn't contains any trojan / virus (even i have to send email to AVG previously just to tell them about that false alarm)

And if you still dont trust me, feel free to send the file directly to your Antivirus vendor so they can check it directly (because i have 3 Antivirus already installed on my computer) ;)

It works just fine that way (and saves a heck of a lot of space on the server), I would run that way myself except my server is the only PC in the house, so it's just easier to leave my WoW on the server.

I got this problem after updating.
Mangos and Realmd can not connect to database anymore ( acces denied for user 'mangos@localhost').
When I check MySQL it says that the Current user is: root@localhost.
reaper-x-mangos.exe asks: What Username would like to use for mysql acces?
If you do not know what to write press enter.
Option 1: The username shall be root.
I did not get an error message from MySQL on the weather test so I press (N).
No I Back-up my Mangos Character Data. all ok
When I choose Upgrade and used Silvermoon database I get Error 1049 Unkown database mangos/scriptdev2/characters.
I use restore mangos Character Data and exit.
Realmd and MAngos still can not connect because of ( acces denied for user 'mangos@localhost').
Option 2: I shall fill in no username and just press enter. All ok until upgrade and then the same Error 1049 Unkown database mangos/scriptdev2/characters.
What to do? Will a fresh installation help or is there an easier way?
Sorry for my long comment but I am Dutch and if I don't tell the whole story step by step I can't understand what I am writing myself :-P
ps When I use "Mangos" as username ( like for mangos@localhost) I get an error at the weather test.

I always wonder if you could. Last night I formated my test server and forgot to load WoW before loading the new Reaper-X. But everything seem to be working ok.
I just don't get rid of my older stuff and over the years I still enough stuff to build 3 spare computers of slower speeds.
Also, has anyone else noticed that the spawns are really low in areas? Family member told me some of the quest were not working and the spawns were low in the Draenei newbie area.
Just wanted to say thank you to Reaper, this is alot of work and most seem not to think about that.

I applied the workaround for the 'Rate.Drop.Items' issue and it works. I didn't see a big difference until I hit 10x in some fields, but to be honest I like being able to control the item drops in more detail this way. Something to think about in future releases...

I just tried doing a new installation of v. 5226, however, I can't seem to find the reaper-x-mangos.bat file. Is it missing or in a different folder or something? Any help would be appreciated. Thanks!

There is not a .bat file in this release. everything runs from 'reaper-x-mangos.exe' in the '..\reaper-eazy-mangos\' folder.

when i run mangosd and realmd i get errors. mangosd says " Could not connect to MySQL database at 127.0.0.1: unknown database 'mangos' " and realmd says the same thing only with "unknown database 'realmd' ". what did i do wrong?

Ooh, did you update some of the .tele locations yourself? Several of them are in far better locations then they used too be. They are a bit safer too use now.
So no problems here yet really but I was wondering, is there a page of some sort or can be simply explained the difference between the Project Silvermoon database and the UDB?

Hey there nice to see you back and tx for the new update. Can you please make or put a patch in the next update so you can change the lvl cap above 70 to like 88. I just when you do it in the config file it dose not work in game after lvl 70 you get the xp but no lvl ups.

How can I make a vendor or npc that people can get a spell casted at them with a level up cmd. Ex: There is a npc that people can come to to get a lvl 88 after they are a lvl 70. How can I do this? Dose it come in a quest template or item template?

Ok, when you open the reaper-x-mangos.exe file, it asks for your Mysql account name and password, then asks you to name the database folders. Did you put in a custom name for these folders or did you just hit enter too leave the names as the default ones? What most likely is wrong is that you have different names for your database folders in the mangos.conf and realmd.conf or you might have the wrong password in those files. You may have simply hit one extra button on the keyboard when typing them in. Check this and repost if it does not help and we'll continue from there.

i did a fresh installation twice and i'm having the same problem...i followed the steps reaper has to configure mangos and before i setup my server for public use it says to make sure the mangos configuration works....so i create a character no problem connected to 127.0.0.1
after i created a new character i ran reapers-x config to set it up for public use i followed those steps just like he wrote them and i login and see my test character i made while i was connected to myself...but to be safe i created a new character and once again my characterlist disappears...my cmp prompt shows i created the new character but neither one are on my character screen now

Hi Reaper, i installed the new release, but the problem is, so far only One person can connect to my server, other 2 or 3 ppl get stuck up in World loading screen after the bar reaches to full, then they getting d/c but myself i can connect without any trouble.

usually that happen because the character data haven't been properly saved to the database, i often type .saveall before closing mangos just to make sure that it gets properly written to disk :)

Upgrading from 5082, after a successful run of the install exe (past the user/database selection stuff), it asks UDB or Project SDB. Selecting either gets me the error
"ERROR 1146 (42SO2) at line 1: Table 'characters.guild_bank_eventlog' doesn't exist.
Hey Reaper-X, could you please help me with my seriously annoying problem - when i've installed the server with mysql and all that, i create a char, works fine....i create ANOTHER char and i cant see any chars, btw i've had this problem both on version 5225 and 5116, both with that fresh installment guide you also made. Please help...

Got that too.
When making a second character both characters dissapeared from loading screen.
However if I deleted character 1 before making char. nr 2 then char. 2 will be visible. Has this something to do with Mangos.conf?

hey thnx for the help. i realized i forgot to install a database and once i did that everything worked fine. also realized i was entering random names haha. So i just hit enter and it was fine. thnx for the help.
auction house not working...set up my character for auctions, ran the wizard and provided the guid as requested...no errors.
then i go to the auction house and there are no items.
Also, i can confirm world npcs are not casting correctly on your version reaper, they send one spell then start to melee.

I am running revison 5031 on my main computer,
and i am running revison 5225 on my other tower.
I looked through navcat but could not find anything. The upgrade option i was unable to find in the current verson so kind stump as to what to try now.

ummmm, i have expansion enabled in the magosd config file...but it wont let me play BE or dreanei or go to outland (even though i can see the maps). any advice?

No i didnt, i thought you just followed the instructions and then the auction houses started working?

You need to make sure that the Player Account that you set up is set for expansion.
Type this in Mangosd:
setbc 'accountname' 1
*no quotes
That will enable the BC expansion for the account.

this was my process to get the AH bot to work:
I created an account 'auction'-note the AcctID of the account.
Then I set the account for 'setbc 1' and 'setgm 3'
I created a character on that account 'auctionbot' - note the GUID of the character.
In mangosd.conf you will need to edit these lines:
#Auction House Bot character data
AuctionHouseBot.Account = AcctID (mine was 7)
AuctionHouseBot.GUID = character GUID (mine was 4)
You will also need to edit these lines:
AuctionHouseBot.AllianceItems = (I use 500)
AuctionHouseBot.HordeItems = (again 500)
AuctionHouseBot.NeutralItems = (I used 200)
I hope this helps and it worked fine for me. There are other commands to tweak your AH. I would get a really good feel for the Mangosd.conf before really messing with it though.

an update on my status
each time before i close mangosd i do a .saveall
but i thought about testing something...so i did tried what #Lemon was saying...i deleted my old account and made a new one and i can see the first character i create but when i try to create a second then the character list goes blank

I am running into the same problem as Ben. Not sure if I'm missing something. Was running 5116, did an upgrade to 5225, no problems at all, everything smooth. Created the reaperbot account, as well as a toon. Logged in and got the Account # and GUID (another pc using the GM account)from both the game and the batch file to make sure it was right. (Account 14, GUID 29). That's what I entered into the mangosd.conf line as instructed.
After running Mangosd.exe and then starting realmd.exe - no auctions. I've even posted some myself incase I needed to 'trigger' something.
Do I need to be running the Silvermoon database? I am running UDB.

BTW - Reaper you rock! I love all the work you've done here.
My biggest wish for this was that the scripts were in place for bosses, and mob pathing (I guess escort quests with events triggered during an escort would fall under that too). Then it would actually be like some of the 'real' WoW gameplay.
BUT - I realize that falls under scriptdev and not your work here on Mangos

all seemed to go fine no errors on the upgrade from 5116 to 5225 except afterward launching Mangosd.exe I have this now

I'll analyze it but if it helps anyone else I'm using PSDBx6 and this appears to be x7 so maybe the upgrade expected my 5116 was using PSDBx7? not sure yet just sharing.

I am trying to do a new install with reapermangos 5225. I installed mysql and tested through cmd and it worked. I extracted the maps and moved to C|\wow\Data folder. The problem I run into is when I run reaper-x-mangos.exe it open the cmd window and i type in the path C|\Program Files\MySQl\Mysql server 5.0\bin the window closes and does nothing. It is the corect path to mysql.exe and mysqldump. I also have made sure the firewall is not stoping it . Please help.
I'll probably ditch my customizations there werent very many single custom level 40 armor vendor in gadget and a few custom newbie items like a big bag and handful of basic 6.5 dps weapons to cover all classes and/or provide about 5gp in sellables for the ones they don't use.
After trying everything I can think of still getting some creature_questrelation quest not exist errors and then it this error

guys, my deep run tram is not working (UDB).....it is not even on the tracks....anyone know a fix?
also, im worried this will mean the ships and zepps are not working either...can anyone confirm they are working?
on a side note.......there has been a major UDB release tonight....and a major mangos update will follow later tonight....looks like reaper will be busy ;)
