Here we go again, another important and vital patch. Previously we took a vote using comments on the site and asked would you prefer a update that runs 2.3.3 or wait for a more compatible version. Well after countless tests on our Test-Server we have found only 2 very small bugs while running it. I highly recommend updating to this version because it applys major updates to the database and provides 2.3.3 support!

REQUIREMENTS:
1. MySQL Database and the Guide on how to Install MySQL
2. World of Warcraft Client version 2.3.3
3. Updated DBC’s, VMAP’s, and MAPS Updated for 2.3.3!

Fresh Install:
Important Note : Fresh installation will overwrite your database
1. First you’ll need to install MySQL
2. Extracting Maps, DBC and VMaps from your World of Warcraft installation
(You can safely ignore the Patch-2, or any not found xxx-2 message)–This only happens if your extracting from patch 2.3.0
3. Run the reaper-x-mangos.bat inside the reaper-eazy-mangos folder, and you’ll see something like below image for an example, and then you just need to write the full path to your mysql installation directory (where mysql.exe and mysqldump.exe can be found) ;)
4. Selection Option 1 by pressing “1″ on the keyboard and pressing enter.
Note: This will wipe out any previous versions of WoW you have in your database.
6. After finished with all of the above process, all you have to do now is just open the realmlist.wtf file in your World of Warcraft installation directory (the default location can be found at C:\Program Files\World of Warcraft) using Notepad, Wordpad, or your favorite text editor and then …
Replace :
set realmlist us.logon.worldofwarcraft.com
set patchlist us.version.worldofwarcraft.com
With :
set realmlist 127.0.0.1
and then save it and close realmlist.wtf File.
7. Now you just need to run mangosd.exe and realmd.exe from your mangos directory and then the next step would be creating your own username with your desired password for your own WoW server account as shown on below image followed by typing setgm to give yourself a GM level account
By the way, if you can’t see what you should type inside the mangosd window from the above image, actually you just need to type :
create username password
to create the account
setgm username 1-3
to give yourself GM Access at certain level (3 is the highest level and should only be used on your account while normal player is 0)
8. Finally if you have Burning Crusade client installed and want to be able to create Burning Crusade specific character, all you have to do is just type :
setbc username 1
to enable burning crusade expansion for your account :)
Optional :
If you want to change the server name into something else, you can use the reaper-x-mangos.bat to adjust it :)
Upgrading from 5045 Release:
1. Re-extract vmaps, maps and dbc because this version no longer supports the old World of Warcraft 2.3.2 installation and only supports the new 2.3.3
2. Go into your WoW Reaper Server Directory, and open reaper-eazy-mangos. Next I recommend opening the batch file and backing up your character data. This is optional though.
3. Open the Folder called “Upgrade” and run reaper-x-upgrade.bat.
4. Next type in the directory to the Bin Folder where your mysql.exe and mysqldump.exe files are located.
5. Then make sure that you are upgrading from the latest previous version or else you WILL corrupt your database and possibly lose your character data.

First off make sure that you have your MySQL running before doing anything.
You need to go back into the reaper folder (C:\Reaper-X-Easy-MaNGOS\reaper-eazy-mangos)
And run the batch file called reaper-x-mangos, there is an option there to setup your LAN or IP for use, This new batch file does correctly setup your DB to the IP you enter in this batch file. Once you’ve done that, if you haven’t gone back in to edit the config files in your reaper folder mentioned above, you need to do that, there is a section in there with this.

# Important: DataDir needs to be quoted, as it is a string which may

This is an example of waht it may look like. You need to change this to the path where you put your data folder with the maps, vmaps, and dbc’s.

WorldDatabaseInfo = “127.0.0.1;3306;ROOT;PASSWORD;mangos”
CharacterDatabaseInfo = “127.0.0.1;3306;ROOT;PASSWORD;characters”
Above, you need to change the MANGO;MANGOS to your root DB name, likey it’s just root, and YOUR batabase (DB) password (you should know this)
YOU DO NOT CHANGE THE IP’S here or in the realmd file, ONLY THROUGH THAT BATCH FILE, i mentioned above. (that file does it for you)
Next open scriptdev2.conf and realmd.conf and edit the info for them to connect to your database as well.

I just installed this server and went to run realmd.exe but it says “MSVCR71.dll not found” and won’t run. Any idea where this file comes from? I’ve reinstalled the server several times and even completely deleted it and redownloaded it but the file is still missing

I recommend download it, but if you do not have a fast internet connection then download will take forever.
@Eric – yes, but you’ll need to change your realmlist.wtf when you switch back and forth.
Also, problems i noticed. encounters should be working but there are 2x attument huntsman in karzhan. I deletet 1 of them. Also second boss doenst use vanish spell.
zulaman major bug, first boss the 1 that is suppose to run further up the hill when you get close, hes just standing still and is not atack able. hes ( neutral ) or call it not target able.
Hey, I have a wierd problem, and had it since i startet using mangos. Ive installed it followed the guide 100%
The log in and game works for me on my computer, i made serval accounts for friends and i set it up for running on dns name wich i got from no-ip.com
But,! :S
It seems like its very unstable, when i log in, it works always. But my friends has very big troubles whit it sometimes they can log in, sometimes not. I restart the server and then they can. It works for both my computers home always, but not always working on wlan.
is it my ip thats crappy for this ? or is it no-ip.com that cant provide a good enough software?

but I am wondering… is there a place to report any bugs? They are bugs that I’ve seen since i installed the last version I was hoping would be fixed in this one.
Certain vendors just will not speak with me (like dungeon 1 in gmisland). as well as the dwarves in hall of champions.
I’m surprised anyone is having any issues. I was able to update mine with no problem. Works like a charm!
Just noticed a problem !!
The alliance griffen master at Zul’aman, Ghostlands is missing..
In fact all the normal npc’s in the area are missing

as i stated befor i have never done any thing like this so i need a little more help hopefuly stev writes me soon or i will just give this up the guide says Reaper Mangos 5082 – Easy WoW Private Server for WoW 2.3.3
but it has not been easy for me i folowed each step on setign it up and it is not working plzzz some one give me soem help i mainly want to check it out to see if i want to keep teh server fora guild pratice area if any one can do remote acess and will not hack me plz email me and we will talk

Not 100% what is going on here. But as a first step, (if you haven’t already) you guys need to change your @prefix@/share/mangos/maps in mangosd.conf to what it actually is:
For example, my path is
d:\reaper-x-easy-mangos\data
So I edit the mangosd.conf and change
DataDir = “@prefix@/share/mangos”
to
DataDir = “D:\Reaper-X-Easy-MaNGOS\data”

I have the SFmpq.dll in the same file as the extractor, so what am I doing wrong?

Kinda new at this, hoping someone can point me in the right direction.
I got 5082 installed and working. Looks great so far, but…
I notice that certain quests don’t seem to work properly, world and instance mobs that are usually moving are stationary, and instance encounters don’t seem to work properly.
Is this how it is? Or did I miss some really big step somewhere during the install (like a mob movement pack, or and instance script pack)?

if they (your friend) got unable to connect message, that means there’s something blocking their access like you didn’t set up port forwarding so they can access it, and if you have firewall installed you need to configure it too
Hey guys, GREAT WORK! I have been sitting in front of my computer now for longer then I care to admit playin on my server which was setup with out any problem. ust a few things I wanted to ask/bring up.
When I log off a character and then back in some of my spell buttons have vanished (not a huge del just more of a minor inconvience figuring out what onces are missing). Also I notice a creppy long lag when using a wand and the priest trainer seems to get confused when leanring spells. It leaves rez rank 1 in even though you have learned it… Just wondering if anyone else has encountered this or if it is something on my end. Any help would be great and thank you so much again!

to add gold do .modify money # just put the number you want where the # sign is. As me for me I don’t know how to do that account table thing but I looked in my wtf file and the accounts are there. But even when I create a new account it still give the does not recognize username and password thing

if it’s doesnt recognize your username / password, i’d suggest you to look at your realmd database under account table to see if your username exist or not :)
Fixed my problem I have two wow games, the real and the private, I hadn’t added the patch to the private. But my new problem is that for both my old accounts and then tried making a new account it doesnt recognize my username or password.
Hey thanks again for the update, I’ve been doing this for a while so ‘m used to everything but I have run into a new problem. After I enter my username and password and click connect I get an error saying cannot validate game version. Anyone know how to fix?

i just confirmed that warlocks trainers imp’s attck in northshire goldshire and stormwind the way i go from release to release is backup characters then just do a fesh install option 1 in mangos.bat. can anyone else confirm this glitch ?
I re-extracted mangos and it works fine now. before it wouldnt use any of the changes I made to it in the config…thanks for trying to help jediknight, and thanks oatman and reaper for another stable release!
not sure how to fix this… warlock trainers pet are attacking characters the one in northshire is all I know off at this time but if I die respawn in gy in northshire the warlock trainers imp kills me over and over again

There is no way that they could include all that. Those files are gigabytes in size!
not to be a downer but any chance of getting a server without the modifications made? As in the new NPCs, Quest, ECT….
That doesn’t work. I don’t even have a set patchlist line (as per the instructions). Here is the only line in my realmlist.wtf file

I think i’ve pinpointed the problem further. mangos seems to be using some other config. It doesnt use the one in the same folder with it…it says all sorts of things that aren’t true.

im using root as login and mangos as password
so it should say root;mangos;mangos where is the config its using?

Ok, silly question, I’m sure it’s been asked but I’m not sure what is the best phrase to search for it. I would love the GM commands and AH Bot that Reaper has in his Mangos Mod. But I’m currently using the version of Mangos used on this page. How could I get those commands without disrupting my current version? I’m fairly good with MySQL on it’s own so I could figure out some things (such as unbinding the TK items and removing grey items from drops since I have a high drop rate) however… I don’t want to possibly break anything if I’m not 100% which tables to work with.
I updated my server and it starts normally.
I changed my LAN IP address with reaper-x.bat to my external ip.
I put at realmlist.wtf my external ip and edited the conf files ( 127.0.0.1;3306;root;mypassword;…).
But when i try to log in it STOPS at SUCCESS or if i cancel that it assigns me to the realm and STOPS at LOGGING IN TO GAME SERVER.
And I opened the ports!!
REAPER OR OATMAN PLEASE HELP!!!!

Hey man, I serously need help, Karazhan needs to be fixed. The opera event does not work and neither does the chess event. Also there is a weird black cyclone on the stage of the opera hall. And last the picnic basket doesn’t work. Other than that, this is the best server I have seen. Thank.
i tried that jedi knight…i usually just read other peoples posts and that fixes whatever problems I have but it seems i have a different problem…mangos thinks the directory is somewhere it is not.

I tried C:\stuff\data and C:/stuff/data.
I tried re-extracting everything.
It always says its using a Datadir I never gave it and that it cant find map 0004331. I checked the maps and its in there so it must be the strange datadir thing.
Re-extracted all maps-vmaps-dbc. Then did the conversion. No problems here. So far looks clean and works great with 2.3.3 blizzard client.
I did see an error message or two scroll by quickly during the SQL command upgrade batch too quickly to catch em, but I added a few custom items and such to my db might explain those. Should get on and play test it tonight. Thank you for all your hard work!
