Reaper Mangos 5082 - Easy WoW Private Server for WoW 2.3.3

Here we go again, another important and vital patch. Previously we took a vote using comments on the site and asked would you prefer a update that runs 2.3.3 or wait for a more compatible version. Well after countless tests on our Test-Server we have found only 2 very small bugs while running it. I highly recommend updating to this version because it applys major updates to the database and provides 2.3.3 support!

Fresh Install:
Important Note : Fresh installation will overwrite your database
1. First you’ll need to install MySQL
2. Extracting Maps, DBC and VMaps from your World of Warcraft installation
(You can safely ignore the Patch-2, or any not found xxx-2 message)--This only happens if your extracting from patch 2.3.0
3. Run the reaper-x-mangos.bat inside the reaper-eazy-mangos folder, and you’ll see something like below image for an example, and then you just need to write the full path to your mysql installation directory (where mysql.exe and mysqldump.exe can be found) ;)
4. Selection Option 1 by pressing "1" on the keyboard and pressing enter.
Note: This will wipe out any previous versions of WoW you have in your database.
6. After finished with all of the above process, all you have to do now is just open the realmlist.wtf file in your World of Warcraft installation directory (the default location can be found at C:\Program Files\World of Warcraft) using Notepad, Wordpad, or your favorite text editor and then …
Replace :
set realmlist us.logon.worldofwarcraft.com
set patchlist us.version.worldofwarcraft.com
With :
set realmlist 127.0.0.1
and then save it and close realmlist.wtf File.
7. Now you just need to run mangosd.exe and realmd.exe from your mangos directory and then the next step would be creating your own username with your desired password for your own WoW server account as shown on below image followed by typing setgm to give yourself a GM level account
By the way, if you can’t see what you should type inside the mangosd window from the above image, actually you just need to type :
create username password
to create the account
setgm username 1-3
to give yourself GM Access at certain level (3 is the highest level and should only be used on your account while normal player is 0)
8. Finally if you have Burning Crusade client installed and want to be able to create Burning Crusade specific character, all you have to do is just type :
setbc username 1
to enable burning crusade expansion for your account :)
Optional :
If you want to change the server name into something else, you can use the reaper-x-mangos.bat to adjust it :)
Upgrading from 5045 Release:
1. Re-extract vmaps, maps and dbc because this version no longer supports the old World of Warcraft 2.3.2 installation and only supports the new 2.3.3
2. Go into your WoW Reaper Server Directory, and open reaper-eazy-mangos. Next I recommend opening the batch file and backing up your character data. This is optional though.
3. Open the Folder called "Upgrade" and run reaper-x-upgrade.bat.
4. Next type in the directory to the Bin Folder where your mysql.exe and mysqldump.exe files are located.
5. Then make sure that you are upgrading from the latest previous version or else you WILL corrupt your database and possibly lose your character data.

First off make sure that you have your MySQL running before doing anything.
You need to go back into the reaper folder (C:\Reaper-X-Easy-MaNGOS\reaper-eazy-mangos)
And run the batch file called reaper-x-mangos, there is an option there to setup your LAN or IP for use, This new batch file does correctly setup your DB to the IP you enter in this batch file. Once you’ve done that, if you haven’t gone back in to edit the config files in your reaper folder mentioned above, you need to do that, there is a section in there with this.

# Important: DataDir needs to be quoted, as it is a string which may

This is an example of waht it may look like. You need to change this to the path where you put your data folder with the maps, vmaps, and dbc's.

Above, you need to change the MANGO;MANGOS to your root DB name, likey it’s just root, and YOUR batabase (DB) password (you should know this)
YOU DO NOT CHANGE THE IP’S here or in the realmd file, ONLY THROUGH THAT BATCH FILE, i mentioned above. (that file does it for you)
Next open scriptdev2.conf and realmd.conf and edit the info for them to connect to your database as well.

just got a few for ya while your online... i just installed windows server 2003 on a computer at my house and have been trying to get the WOW server to run on it... it runs good except i can't seem to get anyone from other computers connected to it. and i'm trying to figure out how to use the servers website functions to make an account setup page... any advice? i really like having the server but not sure how to work it bc i've tried port forwarding on my router but that doesn't work because it disables half the connectivity of the server for some reason.

Second.. My server is running Reaper Mangos Mod 4703 and I wanted to upgrade to this release. Do I have to do all the upgrade in between or can I just back up my characters, clean install with this version and import my characters?

Were do i get the vmaps and maps from?
u extract them using the tools in the folder called "tools" copy em to ur game folder and run "extract-map.bat" and "makevmaps_SIMPLE.bat", when done extracting u copy the folders maps and vmaps into your \Reaper-X-Easy-MaNGOS\data folder and point to this folder when u run the server setup :)
Thanks loved 2.3.2 was so easy to run not slept for several days and i still have an active sub with wow :/ but dont log on :) prefer playing this way ;).

Having an issue that I can't figure out, There is no aggro on anything in game. Nothing can be killed because when you attack them only your one attack counts, then you lose them, they act like nothing happened and go back to full health, much like evading, please help me. I have no clue on this one.
The only things I scripted in were in the reaper-x folder, and I noticed that the script for vedors didn't work, you couldn't talk to them until I loaded the script from the last patch.

my guild and i were trying to use the 5054 release to practice for our premade bg's and to take a peak at hyjal since we arent all attuned for it on the official. the bg functions weren't correctly functioning for us and the hyjal mobs weren't doing what they usually do on the official servers, along with other mobs. our priest actually cleared an instance by herself since all the mobs just disappeared whenever they were affected by her fear. sooo is it just us or is this expected of an emulated server?? also, i'd have to say it brings back memories seeing the lieutenants and such back in av :). can you help us any??? *poke poke*
oh, sorry for the double post. I now have downloaded and fully re-installed everything. that includes MySQL up till this new revision. I am getting the same problem as before, I can log in nicley localy, but once I ask my friends to log in from other machines, it get's stuck at this message again, after they chose the realm 'loging into game server'. I'm at the and with my ideas to fix this problem. Could some one please help me in finding out how to solve this problem? thank you so much, and you are doing a great job Oatman, and reaper-x as well lol.

you used your actual machine's ip and not localhost aka 127.0.0.1 right :3? google for guides on how to set your server up as a LAN.
Turning GM off allows them to attack, that's very off, the last revision I didnt' notice that, would that be something in the mangos config file I changed? like GM always on?

go into your db and change in the real database
127.0.0.1 to your real ipnumber save it relog and problem solved ... great job guys another very happy user here

yes i know, someones already asked something similar to this but do i have to upgrade from reaper amgnso 5005, to the glitched version, to this one? and if i do, do i have do extract all the vmaps maps and DBC files on version 5045?

At the moment, almost all the raids / instances arent working exactly like the normal servers. That has to do mainly with the UDB. Because of all the triggers and events that go on in the instances, not all of them have been implemented yet. But as updates to UDB database move on...they do seem to get more and more involved in the instances. You can atleast get a basic understanding what you are getting yourselves into on the normal server ^^
I really appreciate what you are doing, but you are running an unnecessary risk by putting everything needed to run a private WoW server in one easy to download and set-up package. It gives Blizzard/Vivendi one target to focus on. The reason UDB, MaNGOS, and ScriptDev2 run separate programs on separate sites is that since none of them offer the "complete" package, none of them can be held accountable or liable for whatever copyright violation or infringement suit Blizz might try to pursue. Just food for thought. Best of luck.
Lan People-
If Lan worked for you before and you are having problems connecting with the new update, just an idea. The realmlist file in your WoW folder resets with the WoW new patch so make sure and change it to your lan ip again.
If Lan has not worked for you ever- use tutorials-if it still doesn't work read them again- I found that when I have trouble its because I skipped steps

#NathanRedd those merchants have an error in thier coding... they are set as spirit healers.. if you use Quice http://quice.indomit.ru/ you can go in and edit this value and make them vendors again.. it's a small flaw with an easy fix.

Hi Oatman. I have a slight problem with the mangos config editor. On the pictures you have it says at number 5: Mangos Config Editor (You'll need to run this at least once). In my window it says: Mangos Config Editor - MaNGOS.conf/Realmd.conf/ScriptDev2.conf, and when i push 5 and enter it says: this is not an intern command, extern command, program or commandfile.
What should i do?

You need to go into your mangosd.conf, realmd.conf, and scriptdev.conf then edit each of them.
You need to tell it where to connect to the data dir.

You do not have to redo the DBC and stuff all you have to do is use the upgrade tool to update you database. Then once you get to this version then you have to get the new dbc's and stuff and replace mangosd.exe and stuff like that.

Not to be mean but if you actually take the time to read the post fully then you would know what to do. Anyhow, since you must be new I'll tell you anyway. You need to open mangosd.conf, realmd.conf, and scriptdev2.conf using notepad. Then you need to edit them. To connect to your database and to connect to your data folder with your extracted DBC's, Maps, and Vmaps.

Hey Oatman, i've been following ur releases for some time, i've got some people playing on my server (got it working publicly) and we record bugs that come up, do you have an email that i can email you the txt file that i copy down all the bugs to? it just seems more convenient than this comment board. :)

it looks like u didnt import the database info to your SQLyog databases, so there is nothing for it to use. but im not 100% sure

you put your vmaps maps and DBC folder inside your mangos folder (called reaper-x-easy-MaNGOS or something like that)
and just remake the databases and reimport everything

Hey i have an issue, everything is running fine, and no problems setting up for lan and internet connect.
I was running 5005 version fine, and fresh installed 5085, but now after mangosd runs, everthing loads perfect, but at the end of server loading, mangosd.exe stops responding.
any ideas?
By the way thats im runing it on vista ultimate with the .exe's ownership in my os username.
Ok i just reinstalled it and its working with a default config, but when a character initiates an attack on a creature, there is a quick red circle that surronds them then go's away.
And the player has to be in that circle range to attack. Is there anyway to expand that range to initiate attack farher away?
And how can i get the auction house working?
I am getting an Error saying that 127.0.0.1 is not connectable
Both mangos.exe and realmd.exe started without error, however when I connect it just shows "Logging into game server" for about 1/2 seconds then goes back to the realm list.

First of all, thanks a lot Oatman and Reaper for these releases.
Anyway, i noticed something with this new release that im (almost) sure wasn't in the last one: Those Imp Minions around Warlock Trainers keep aggroing players, which makes it almost impossible for new warlocks to train their skills.
I don't know if its a problem with the Imps only, some mistake i made with the installation, or maybe a bigger issue (with tons of npcs attacking player at later stages).
Any fixes?

To fix this problem, open your mangosd.conf file with any prefered text editor (notpad is fine :))
look for a setting like this(this is a direct take out from my file, replace the file path with the one that applyes to the location of your dbs, maps, and vmaps folder)

I have been fighting with taht problem for hours until I found out what the problems is. This might not apply to you but first things first. Is it yourself getting this error, or someone logging in from a differen't machine? I have found out that in my case it was a problem with someone logging in from the outside (a friend at home). If you are behind a router make sure the ports 8085 and the port 3724 are forwarded. Also make sure that your friend log in with the WAN ip and that your server realm is also set up with a WAN ip. After that it should work, if you have more questions feel free to contact me under this email address (I found myself clogging up this post section with this problem far to much lol:P)

I don't know if this is a normal error, but I have noticed the second I turn on the auction bot to this setting:

For some reason I don't think skills are working. I could put my char to level 200 and I still get hit for like 180 damage by level 65 Ironforge guards. I used .maxskill to max them but it makes no difference. Also, I still hit mobs for barely anything - at this level with the gear i'm wearing I should be hitting for much more.

Thanks to all on this release. I went to the registration page to get on that server and it's not available to the public yet, you can bet I'll be on there when it is and helping as much as I can. I have a few questions that I'd love to hear answered, I hope we have a chat channel for only people that got this to work publicly (no offense to those that haven't yet) but it would be nice to hear questions on the "next level" of things that can be done with DB's and how to start fixing bugs! Not to be mean but if you want to use this then you need to read. I would not know the knowledge I do on how to code these without reading. To get a server working just read the full post it will talk about that.

actually even if you set your char level above 70, it's not going to give you additional stats bonus unless you add each race and class stats bonus point manually by editing the player_levelstats table ;)

Wordpress by default is going to send trackback or ping to any site linked from your post (assuming the linked website support trackback / ping function)
in order to disable it , you can try playing around in your wordpress dashboard setting (although i think it's better to leave trackback setting at default) .. btw thanks for the link :)

It's unfortunate that so many people are having issues upgrading, extracting, setting up the .conf files or even getting others to connect to their server. But I do have to agree with Oatman...

Hi again, I seem to be the only person having this problem with skinning. I've found that it seems to work sometimes and others not, and it also seems to sometimes fix itself just by logging out and back in again.
Is there any way I can see what's happening on the server side of things when I'm skinning something to see why I'm not getting anything?

I changed my LAN IP address with reaper-x.bat to my external ip.
I put at realmlist.wtf my external ip and edited the conf files ( 127.0.0.1;3306;root;mypassword;...).
But when i try to log in it STOPS at SUCCESS or if i cancel that it assigns me to the realm and STOPS at LOGGING IN TO GAME SERVER.

run a mysql instance manually:
mysql -u -p
replacing and with your username and password.
type:
use mangos;
then type:
show tables;
you should get a list of tables in the mangos db. Can you see locales_page_text? It should be between locales_npc_text and locales_quest.
If the table is not there, it wasn't extracted properly, meaning you might have had the wrong permissions on your mysql server when you tried to install. If it is there but it's empty, you likely got an error while installing but didn't notice it because the lines just fly by. Perhaps try upgrading your mysql db version? What platform are you using?

I am having trouble connecting to my private server from the WoW client. It is version 2.3.3.7799. I have changed the realmd.conf file to point to localhost (127.0.0.1). When I launch wow (from the launcher or from wow.exe) and attempt to login, I get the following error message in the client "Unable to validate game version. This may be caused by file corruption or the interference of another program. Please visit http://us.blizzard.com/support/article.xml?articleId=21370 for more information and possible solutions to this issue." When I go there it talk about the existance of trojans. If I change the realmlist to point to blizzard and login to my usual account everything is fine.

If not try dropping all your mysql databases (with phpmyadmin for example) and then repeat step 4.
Also make sure the mysql username you're using has all privileges.

Quick question. When I built my new dbc, maps, vmaps folders for delivery to the production server data folder, I noted the following files are not in the current build. Should I remove these EXTRA dbc files or are the unlikely to cause a problem? Flip side question are they needed and should people doing "fresh installs" maybe go back to older releases and retrieve these missing dbc files?

Re-extracted all maps-vmaps-dbc. Then did the conversion. No problems here. So far looks clean and works great with 2.3.3 blizzard client.
I did see an error message or two scroll by quickly during the SQL command upgrade batch too quickly to catch em, but I added a few custom items and such to my db might explain those. Should get on and play test it tonight. Thank you for all your hard work!
i tried that jedi knight...i usually just read other peoples posts and that fixes whatever problems I have but it seems i have a different problem...mangos thinks the directory is somewhere it is not.

Ok, silly question, I'm sure it's been asked but I'm not sure what is the best phrase to search for it. I would love the GM commands and AH Bot that Reaper has in his Mangos Mod. But I'm currently using the version of Mangos used on this page. How could I get those commands without disrupting my current version? I'm fairly good with MySQL on it's own so I could figure out some things (such as unbinding the TK items and removing grey items from drops since I have a high drop rate) however... I don't want to possibly break anything if I'm not 100% which tables to work with.

I think i've pinpointed the problem further. mangos seems to be using some other config. It doesnt use the one in the same folder with it...it says all sorts of things that aren't true.

I re-extracted mangos and it works fine now. before it wouldnt use any of the changes I made to it in the config...thanks for trying to help jediknight, and thanks oatman and reaper for another stable release!
i just confirmed that warlocks trainers imp's attck in northshire goldshire and stormwind the way i go from release to release is backup characters then just do a fesh install option 1 in mangos.bat. can anyone else confirm this glitch ?

Hey thanks again for the update, I've been doing this for a while so 'm used to everything but I have run into a new problem. After I enter my username and password and click connect I get an error saying cannot validate game version. Anyone know how to fix?
Fixed my problem I have two wow games, the real and the private, I hadn't added the patch to the private. But my new problem is that for both my old accounts and then tried making a new account it doesnt recognize my username or password.
if it's doesnt recognize your username / password, i'd suggest you to look at your realmd database under account table to see if your username exist or not :)

Hey guys, GREAT WORK! I have been sitting in front of my computer now for longer then I care to admit playin on my server which was setup with out any problem. ust a few things I wanted to ask/bring up.
When I log off a character and then back in some of my spell buttons have vanished (not a huge del just more of a minor inconvience figuring out what onces are missing). Also I notice a creppy long lag when using a wand and the priest trainer seems to get confused when leanring spells. It leaves rez rank 1 in even though you have learned it... Just wondering if anyone else has encountered this or if it is something on my end. Any help would be great and thank you so much again!

if they (your friend) got unable to connect message, that means there's something blocking their access like you didn't set up port forwarding so they can access it, and if you have firewall installed you need to configure it too

I got 5082 installed and working. Looks great so far, but...
I notice that certain quests don't seem to work properly, world and instance mobs that are usually moving are stationary, and instance encounters don't seem to work properly.
Is this how it is? Or did I miss some really big step somewhere during the install (like a mob movement pack, or and instance script pack)?

Not 100% what is going on here. But as a first step, (if you haven't already) you guys need to change your @prefix@/share/mangos/maps in mangosd.conf to what it actually is:
For example, my path is
d:\reaper-x-easy-mangos\data
So I edit the mangosd.conf and change
DataDir = "@prefix@/share/mangos"
to
DataDir = "D:\Reaper-X-Easy-MaNGOS\data"

Hey, I have a wierd problem, and had it since i startet using mangos. Ive installed it followed the guide 100%
The log in and game works for me on my computer, i made serval accounts for friends and i set it up for running on dns name wich i got from no-ip.com
But,! :S
It seems like its very unstable, when i log in, it works always. But my friends has very big troubles whit it sometimes they can log in, sometimes not. I restart the server and then they can. It works for both my computers home always, but not always working on wlan.
is it my ip thats crappy for this ? or is it no-ip.com that cant provide a good enough software?

Also, problems i noticed. encounters should be working but there are 2x attument huntsman in karzhan. I deletet 1 of them. Also second boss doenst use vanish spell.
zulaman major bug, first boss the 1 that is suppose to run further up the hill when you get close, hes just standing still and is not atack able. hes ( neutral ) or call it not target able.

I just installed this server and went to run realmd.exe but it says "MSVCR71.dll not found" and won't run. Any idea where this file comes from? I've reinstalled the server several times and even completely deleted it and redownloaded it but the file is still missing

The problem I have is testing or accessing the game/server as my networking skills are not great. Is it possible to have the server running but login to WOW on the same PC as a player to test? I'm guessing not because of the single realmlist.wtf file? If not then I have a second PC on my home LAN. Can I access the server from this PC with an internal IP in the realmlist.wtf file(192.168..etc) or would I have to go out of my LAN and use the server's external IP to get access?

Currently, changing the overall drop rate is a bit of a nuisance since it amps grey trash, and breaks "quest drop" items if the value is over 10. It also seems to not allow the "guaranteed purple" drop from heroic bosses if set around x10.

real easy, make sure you have all the ports open on your router, and make sure mangos is running on the "correct" port.. I have never had this problem before.. also, what do you mean by "stuck" what happens if they press enter world??

First off make sure that you have your MySQL running before doing anything.
Once you’ve done that, if you haven’t gone back in to edit the config files in your reaper folder mentioned above, you need to do that, there is a section in there with this.

Only info that can be given is check realmlist.WTF, mangosd, realmd, and scriptdev2 for IP address 127.0.0.1:3306(loopback) or your IP address for LAN access.
Thanks to Oatman and Reaper-x for the tips and this site! Very Easy and have been using this site for a point of reference for awhile now.
Also, wanted to point out that some virus and spyware scanners are picking up a false positive on Reaper Mangos file. Should be a trojan backdoor Hupigon3.AMVL. Don't fret this happened with winaces and a few other programs with initial releases.
ok guys i found out the hardway since i havent updated my mangos server since 2.3.0 that i decided to do a fresh MySQL install first thing i did was gone though the uninstall process
after the uninstall, do a file search for MySQL and delete the folder in program files and your MySQL database files folder
after doing this, there will be no trace of MySQL left on your computer and it should let you do a good clean install that will make your server come online fine

to anyone that has a web page sign in for thier server using WAMP. i've looked around and can't find anything on the subject as far as port forwarding so that when ppl go to my website (got one set up figured out how to do it without using my ip) but i can't figure out what program to forward my port to... i've tried wamp, httpd, localhost, apache, php, mysql... i even tried my local ip ... can't figure it out... maybe i'm doing something wrong... not sure... but every time i try to connect using the www address i get my router... plz help

To forward your router, i'd suggest you to read your router manual (usually most router use 192.168.0.1 or 192.168.1.1 as their default address) .. so try typing it in your browser and see if you can access your router configuration page (and no it dont need additional program)

#reaper i don't have a problem accessing my router... but for some reason the port forwarding doesn't work for port 80... i put windows xp back on my computer bc winserver 2003 screwed up on me... but i had a website up on it using iis but it didn't use php (which was my initial problem) and i tried to install wamp on it and it went crazy and stopped working right... anyway i use a linksys WRT54G got a site name from DynDNS.com and set everything up... the website works locally when using my local ip from another computer on the network.. but when i have someone try to access it from online they get a (error website not available) message.. really frustrating... when i go in to set up port forwarding i get a list of options ...

try changing the httpd port into another value like 8080, 81 or something else (since you're using wamp, i cant really tell you on what file to edit) ... but if you're just using a standalone apache, all you have to do is just open httpd.conf and change the listen directive to another value
and finally dont forget to setup port forwarding for the new port :)

try changing your website to port 8080 and on your router change the port forwarding address as well to 8080. It is common for ISPs to block port 80 so you can't host internal website without business account. (same with ftp, and my isp also blocks the wow realm port so I had to change mine to something else also.)

Hey, reaper. I have my Private Server up, the problem is connecting to it. It sticks on Authenticating and goes nowhere after that. If i hit the cancel button and try logging in again, it shows a black box with only the cancel button in it.

I think your vmaps should be larger then that before you extracted them did you delete the old vmaps and buildings folders? if not it can cause errors and force the extract to stop early.
The first time I ran it I stoped it way to early ended up with like 5 files in the folder. It took a good 20 to 30 min to extract on my system.
The maps extract has a nice counter on it telling you if it is 100% done but vmaps dosnt just give it time worst case extract it before you crash one night.
I would look at the size of the files and how many but stuck at work for at least another couple of hours

Can anyone tell me what format the DBC files are in? It's not foxpro apparently.
OK some of the dbc's ARE foxpro compatiblesome funky version of foxpro not visual foxpro 6 or anything typical (it's newer or older) I found a dbceditor but it wont read ther bigger files like spell.dbc which I wanted to look at the spell numbers to track bugs like with the hunter quest lines. Maybe figure out how to add a super pet trainer vendor that jsut give out the needed pet spells.
The few public servers I tried to check out, the Hunter class was a joke because nobody knew how to fix the broken hunter pet quest lines and ensure hunters get all their needed pet training spells.
Actually this version and probably most recent versions of Mangos appear to mostly work for hunters a big kudos to the makers of THIS over the ascent flavors.
Hey how come none of my mailboxes are showing up in any of the cities?
Having an issue with attacking mobs since the update.You go into attack stance for about 1sec then stop,red circle around mob disappears.I've made sure gm mode is off and even went as far as a fresh install.If anyone knows the answer or what table basic attack script/spell is stored would be useful.

Did you check that the realmd database in the realmlist file and make sure that IP matches your public facing IP (from whatismyip.com)?
Did you also make sure to forward ports 3724 and 8085 on your router to your internal IP address (the one you see when running IPCONFIG from a command prompt)?
@Dead420: The Spell.dbc can be openned and scanned with a utility named DBC_Editor I found a couple on filefront one worked the other didnt. The one with the spaced out name worked for me to scan it. There are several Attack spells 3606, 6350, 6351 etc.
Probably different types of basic 'attack' for different classes or levels maybe (guessing).
You can search for spells by doing
.lookup spell name
I'd like to figure out how to give each class one extra spell or ability. Like I think every hunter should have a low level death coil to push things away to range for an extra shot hehe
Mages should have a low level Paladin bubble just for fun.
Anyone else think so of any other ideas? =)
I haven't figured out how to edit the spell.dbc yet but I have been asking.
Basic attack seems ok for me on my server but I know some public servers whre it isn't. The cause on those is usually lag causing the mobs to be elsewhere from where they appear to the player. The result is they seem to give a large number of facing wrong way, too far away or otherwise not swining their melee weapon situations.
This is something different than lag.It's the basic attack/targeting for all classes e.g when u right click a mob.Previous 2.3.2 version was working.So im at a loss,I'm now doin another fresh install without importing the charcters back and see if it clears.
Hah there is a level 54 imp minion in the very entrance to the Blood elf newbie trainer area. Any idea how I get rid of something like that? Target him and .delete or something?
Yeah .delete will remove the spawn,it sounds similar to reports of the aly lock trainers imps attacking,if u wanted to fix u could do .npcinfo find his id n change his faction flags,but being hes decoration .delete would work for me lol

you have to set your ip in the conf files to your externa ip,but that sometimes gives you an issue connecting as most routers dont like sendind request back to an internal,reaper posted a workaround,you have to find a file in windows called hosts,open n add your internal ip e.g 192.168.1.xxx to the list,but for full instructions click one of the reaper links top right

I had this happening to me, i found the ip address in realmd had "127.0.0.1" instead of 127.0.0.1, took "" off with SQLyog software and i could login again, then set back to wan ip and my freinds could too.

To me it looks like your problem is that you have your EXTERNAL DNS name put in the file:

Your server doesn't know that external site name unless you have an internal DNS server telling it that. You need to put you internal IP address. For example
ServerName 192.168.1.15:8080 (if your server ip is 192.168.1.15 so that it can answer the call)
When i click on mangosd it comes up with a message saying:
This application has failed to start because MSVCR71.dll was not found. Re-installing the application may fix this problem.

Ive got a big bug in my mangos server and I dont know how about fixing it, rolled out a new blood elf pally in a normal realm,
walkeed in the door to visit my trainer and gets killed instantly, I do a corse run and as soon as I rez bang dead again,
so this time I do a corpse run but rex out side, ok fine, turn on GM mode and went back in the door, ok nothing out of the ordenary except for the broom under the floor,
then I .saveall and loged out, stoped the server, and re started the server and quickly got back in, and what do I see, that imp pet on the right hops on the chair then down and then throu the wall,
turned off GM and I see and hear a spell coming from the imp in the general area where he disapeard, so I rez again and logged again with the GM on and tryed it the restart once more and jumped back in and targeted him,
he's a lvl46 no wonder I died so fast, but he is supose to be on my side as he is in the blood elf area and the boss trainer for this imp pet is on my side so why is the pet attacking,
also Ifound loads of mobs in the wrong area, like the hellfire big wroms lvl61's inwesturn plaguelands? <- oops and a few others and on top of it all most of the server commands are gone,
and I set a log file and there is a few errors in it something about loading and saying file is emty when it comes to creature spawning, there is loads more I can say,
but I think it will fill up this hole web page, other than that the lan works great without a hic-up.
the server mangos ver. I used is 5082 with a copy of client 2.3.3 runing on vista32 in a seprate drive so its easy to find.

if anyone is having a prob using the reverse dns i dont see why you dont just set ure realmlist to ure ip and use 127.0.0.1 to login when using the same pc works fine for me.

I have seen this exact issue on a server that I play on, and like you said, it is a pretty nasty little issue. Anyone beginning as a Blood Elf will either have to hope that they do not get close enough for the imp to attack or you are dead in1 or two hits (It states on the server I play on that it is a Boss), and if you start off as a Lock, you will not even come close to being able to talk with your trainer, thus no new skills that you need by level 5 with some of the starter quests. So, I am guessing the server to which I play is using the latest Mango's. If anything, at least I now know why that was happening. I sent a ticket out, but no GM's were on at the time. Good to know that you have this issue, even if it is a bad one, so other servers will be able to fix this, when the answer is given.

How do you change a character's name? I have a friend playing and he gave it some crazy name and now wants to change it.
# Shinzon when he's online you can target him and use the command .rename, else You can use sqlyog or navicat( Where your db is in) to change his name in the "Characters" subdb
To all people having problem with the imp, u can use the command .modify faction 35,this will turn the targeted npc to be friendly.
Or you could look up the npc in your database and change his faction inthere

Some one please help me. Ok here it goes. You know that command .maxskill it sets your skill to max. And you know how at lvl 70 those fields only go up to 300. It gives out 5 for every lvl. Things like Defense and your weapon skills.
(Where can I change so it give out instead of 5 it gives 10 for every lvl?)

Actually the process to create linux powered mangos is just the same like this, but since those who use Linux prefer to compile mangos by themself i think that is unneeded, also the other difference in linux is you'll still need your windows machine to extract the DBC files :)

Hmm gutted.
I did the last patch ok , but with this one I have 2 problems.
1) Its not verifying the version of wow (which somebody else is having a problem with)
2) I have lost all my accounts, characters and items I have created.
Can somebody help me with fixing number 1? and save my life with number 2. I am sure I told it to backup the files but the import brought in blanks.
Just an update with the skinning problem, it only seems to be when there's more than 1 person on the server. Skinning will work fine until then, but as soon as someone else enters the realm skinning won't work for either person.

First, the characters seem to come out of walls or not be completely laid out on the same grid as my characters. Some seem to be floating in mid air when the fight or die. Is something out of wack? Second, the respawn rate seems really high (I noticed it in the Fargold mine)... is that normal?

hmm, i got the server runing now.. works fine exept that everyone that trys to logg in gets the WoW msg at the logg in screen that the WoW ver. can be detected and that some files are corupted.. but when i try to logg ont blizz servers or someone elses server it works fine for me.. any ideas?

Hey, I looked through and haven't found anyone else stating anything about it so I figured I'd post my own question. I'm having a problem and don't know if it's something I did incorrectly or if it's part of mangos. My blood elf is unable to train seal of blood at level 64 when you're supposed to be able to, in fact it's not even on the trainer. I tried .learn and the id of it, but the seal of blood's learnable by gm commands don't work properly any help would be appreciated. thanks

So we covered the .DELETE command above Select 23 half elite and type .delete and poof.
But I find areas where mobs do not spawn or are not placed that should be there or I want to add them. I think I can figure out the missing mob numbers but what is the command to place them at their new spawn point?
OK found it .addspw number will add the spawn you want instantly

Bug reporting. My most common bugs seem to be quest guys that wont accept the quest turn ins.
Also cant get out of combat and when you log out to clear it, you are a ghost whatever was in combat with you get accelerated resolution and you lose apparently? Anyone else getting that?
@Bellos: I have 6952 files in my Data folder (three subfolders). If you have fewer you aren't extracting the same stuff I am. If you have same number try re-extracting possible corruption. If you have @prefix@ in your config CONF file, you need to change it to read c:\mangos\data or whatever is what I did.
@Alex: Yes I did that! You will most easily want to just change the zone number on your Character in the characters database. Change it to match another character of the same faction so he may be way up high and fall but at least he will be in a loadable zone number.
@Keeroy: I would recommend ditchign Hamachi. It's weak and slow and actually more complex than braving the internet and get a good firewall going on your PC. Microsoft's firewall is is weak.
Some others you could check into include Comodo (free) and Sygate - I think they had a free version if you can fidn the old one maybe still do? If you have Times Warner they offer free CA firewall. Don't use their free spyware and antispam it will mangle your system and make iexplorer nearly unusable.

Mangos started out and mostly remains as an educational project. Take the opportunity to learn stuff you will use and reap benefits from every day.
Then your friends can connect anytime they want without you having to start Hamachi! One caveat, I'd be careful about =advertising= a publicly visible server.

1) type ".tele gmisland" and it will take you there, assuming you chose option 7 from the 'reaper-x-mangos.bat' file to install the island and vendors.
2) should you get stuck, you don't need to wipe and recreate your character. Go to your mangos server command line and type "tele stormwind

dont get any error log :s i just start the server as i should.. using mangos 8052 and WoW 2.3.0 and when i try to logg in WoW says files are corupted. but when i try on blizz or other priv servers it works.. :((
I assume you mean 5082, which is this rev version.
Previously it was announced that only WoW Client version 2.3.3 works with rev 5082.
So if you use 2.3.0, please update your server.
(The easiest way to update, even without a real WoW account, is to change the realmlist.wtf to the usual:
set realmlist eu.logon.worldofwarcraft.com
set patchlist eu.version.worldofwarcraft.com
(replace eu with us, if you use the US-WoW version)
Then enter WoW, in username type 'a' and the same in password. Press Enter and it should begin updating.
Whenever finished updating, change the realmlist.wtf back to whatever you need it to.
Need a hand setting up please. I followed every step through the guide ... though I had to figure out for myself that the maps/vmap/dbc all had to be copied to the data folder after extracting, the guide didn't mention that :P

ah it seems you forgot to edit mangosd.conf and set the datadir to the correct path of your data (maps,vmaps, and dbc location) ;)
for example if you can locate the 04331 map file in C:\WoW\data\maps then you need to set the datadir too
datadir = "C:\WoW\data"
p.s you need to enclose it with double quotes, and don't copy paste directly from here because the double quotes gets transformed into curly quotes

AH I know what repper is talking about. If anyone has ever been on servers like rockstar for instance they do the systemwide surfs up thing thats slaps a stack of buffs on everyone and plays some heavy metal music. Since most sounds in WoW are already encoded music files I think they may have just attached a music file to one of the buffs. WHICH leads to my next question..Anyone have any idea how to cast systemwide buffs on all active players?

This is a MySQL install problem of some sort. Remember when you install MySQL it asks for a password. Well it stores that (could be wrong) in the database and perhaps in the my.ini config files or something like that. I know if I restore an old copy of the database by turning off the mysql service and drop overlay files and start service sometimes old copies of databases or other peoples database will have different passwords. Thats when I see errors like you describe. You will need to figure out how to reconfigure your mysql using the "MySQL Server Instance Config Wizard" ideally and once you get through that without an error where you OPT to change the security - THEN you know yuo know the correct login (root) and password whatever you made your password for your mysql database
I hope that isn't too confusing. I still wish we could use Microsoft SQL Server (ouch!) OK OK

Bigwigs and Deadlybossmods are mods for raid bosses that helps with the timing on what the boss do. Bosses are bugged and prolly these mod could help fix the bosses.
So far, all the escort quests are bugged. I'll save the name of the bugged quests and upload it in a text file once I'm done testing.
A few bugs i've noticed:
1. Warrior improved mortal strike does not bring the cooldown to 5 seconds.
2. Improved intercept also does not remove the 10 seconds from the cooldown.
3. I also get spammed with "World unknown spell id : 5302".
4. the talent tactical mastery does not keep rage when switching to any other stance except defensive. switching to defensive correctly keep 25. but swithing to battle stance or beserker switches back to 10 rage.
when i press 1 for the instulation part it askes for a username passward database name...what do i put there...and do i put my computers ip or 127.0.0.1?

I had a quick question about ScriptDev2 progress and events. When you do your version updates, are you grabbing the latest patches from scriptdev2.com? Simply because I've been wandering around some of the later instances in the game and have discovered that many of them don't have their scripts properly completed. For example, entering the Black Morass, Medivh just stand there looking stupid, the portal intervals don't do much (And neither do the spawned Rift Lords), and you don't get any event when you kill the Chrono Lord (who is also just sitting there looking stupid). Also, a good chunk of NPCs don't exist in the outland where they should be.
Now obviously this is in no way a complaint or anything like that. I'm simply curious. I have no idea if the "scene" has actually managed to complete said scripts or not, but I was just wondering about what you do to update the scripts within the game. If you tell me that you're up-to-date, I won't bother, but I was thinking about giving a go myself at compiling and patching my own scripts (I know my way around C++ well enough, though mostly from an mfc perspective. I'm a little old-school).

It's been long time no talk.
I got the server running perfectly with this version. The only thing I'm trying to figure out how to edit rep since the previously version which is called 4703 Custom that worked very well. This version has the opinion to view the ID of each factions but the command ".setrep" doesn't seem to be working at all it kept saying:
"There is no such command."
So, I was wondering if u set it to different command? I would like to know how to edit it.

Now I face a different problem. I can login ... for the most part, it comes to the first screen where it should suggest a relam, then when i try to connect to my realy it comes back to the realmlist every time, unless I choose to cancel and quit.
Any ideas to the cause of this?

My previous Reaper-X MaNGOS version was 4651.
This is quite an old version compared to this one, but since I have been away and busy I haven't really focused on my server.
Since I understood that using the Upgrade function only works from the last version, this requires a fresh install.
I just ran into a problem though... When backing up data (option 2) I have to type where "Characters" are located. As far as I remember, this didn't exist in that release.
If I am correct, this means I have to fresh install the version just before the rev that adds 'Characters', then update using the update function to the rev that includes 'Characters', then finally do a fresh install to this update.
Is this correct? I hope it isn't...
Another option could be just doing a fresh install and loosing all customed data (I assume).

@Muskar: I would closely STUDY the backup realms and characters portion of the current reaper-x script batch file. It is relatively smiply. Once you know what is restored when you restore characters you can TRY to ensure this gets backed up from your current database. Mangos design changes notwithstanding you would at least have a good chance of trying to overlay your old character and account info onto the current latest Mangos. (This appears to be A pretty good version IMO)

Ok, got that resolved with the not loading right. I realised the guide shows how to run it on a local machine first. Since I run Vista, I had to create a virtual machine to run XP and put MySQL and the server in that. Even though they're both on the same machine, they have different IPs and thus I had to go into the batch to setup for the LAN party.
All works well now. Thanks for this awesome release. Now to hunt down those GM commands again ..

Ok now I studied what the function does.
It stores a lot DBC files in "backup-db.sql" in mysqldumb and some of the. I also noticed that only the "Realmd" and "MaNGOS" folder exists, In the newer edition it's called "Realmd" and "Characters".
So I putted "mangos" when it asked for characters and it worked except for one error:
How can I repair it? Do I need to repair it? (I didn't modify any respawn timers and if I did, it wasn't intentional)
WoW, I have a problem. The batch file is asking for both the "Mangos" and "Characters" folder.
Im attempting to type 'mangos' in both.
Results:
everything worked until the last line
"File not found"
I hope this is just the error that I could ignore because I didn't choose the full backup.
Anyway, I will let you know if I have any problems further on.

I think I remember that problem from the first time I installed a Reaper release.
I'm quite sure that if you press the 'WINDOWS_Button' and the 'R' together, then type 'cmd' and then finally typing the path of the file, it wont close, but show the error message.

I know this sounds like a regular question, but I have this error:
I get the same error when I change the IP to 127.0.0.1 and/or the port to 3306 which my MySQL is.
I am using muskar.servegame.org:7000 as my realmlist, and my LAN IP is 192.168.1.136. What did I do wrong?

mines working great just huge pause on stealth odd really as i can run everything else + server + 2 wow clients and its 60fps but stealth and i stall for 30 secs feels it :P

I have tried everything to get this to work. If my friends are connected to my network it works fine but when they connect to their internet (all high speed) it says unable to connect. I have a domain name and thats what they use when they connect in my net work so it sould work outside it too, right? I have all the right ports forwarded and all that. I tried using a different port but the same thing happend. PLSE HELP!

You can have you MySQL database folders anywhere you please. I prefer to direct them to E:\data because I didn't want them writing to my boot drive C:\ a billion times.
Not to be confused with the c:\mangos\data folder which holds static data files like the DBC files which are a variant of the Foxpro DBC database files and some data like spell information and such are stored in those - and I suppose not quite as easily updated.
That error you hit on may well be a chanegd tavle structure I'm not sure. Although it should be easy enough to find out. Do an SQL dump from the old tables and compare the SQL from the latest and see if they changed.
This is what the SQL creating the table structures looks like and if any changes occurred here would be where you would need to do some custom coding to read old changed info into new structures. Extra fields can be stubbed in sometimes in the INSERT command by using a static value along with an AS parameter.

Say they added a field (hypothetical) CharacterMorphState which stores a number that didn't exist in an older Character table backup.
You could update all Character INSERTS to have an added spliced in text that said perhaps like
'10' as CharacterMorphState,
In the correct place in the insert to add the new field with a default value so to speak.

You do know you can add mobs and remove mobs and customize lots of things yourself. Take some time to learn how this works and try to contribute (anything) before blasting it NI ALL CAPS. A little civility goes a long way.

The 1st boss in Zul'Aman is 1) in the wrong spot and is 2) non attackable. He still attacks you but you can't attack him back, the only way to kill him is .die lol. If you target him and try to attack him it comes up with "You Can't Attack That Target". Just wondering if you have any idea what the problem is with this? The location is not so much of a problem but not being able to attack him kind of sucks lol.

Well, I really don't want to spend hours and hours to figure how to do that "easy stuff". I never did it so, it will take a few hours to learn how to do it. Anyway, its not my problem anymore.
In addition to my previous comment:
My hosts file has been edited (it was since first MaNGoS release I downloaded) and should therefore still be working.
MySQL port is 3306.
I forwarded the following ports:
Realmd - 7000 - 192.168.1.136
Worldserver - 8805 - 192.168.1.136
WoW1 - 1400 - 192.168.1.136
WoW2 - 1401 - 192.168.1.136
WoW3 - 80 - 192.168.1.136
I configured my firewall to allow the following ports:
3306 (TCP)
7000 (TCP)
8805 (TCP)
I configured realmd.conf, mangosd.conf and scriptdev2.conf with the settings posted in the error.
I also changed the following setting when I changed all other settings:
E.g. if I modified all '.conf'-files to port 3306, I changed this too. I also tried having this on 7000 when the other were 3306 and opposite.
And of course my realmlist.wtf is changed to
which it has always been.
I also checked if muskar.servegame.org was down, but it wasn't so I really don't get it.
Anyone have any ideas?

If you see it in your mangosd.exe when it's running, it really doesn't matter. Happens all the time.
If you don't refer to that, or some error happens when it says that, please state it.
Just a note to everyone, .tele to the emerald dream and you will crash the server as the map is incomplete.
@Muskar: Have you tried forwarding port 3724? I have that one forwarded. My debugging when I have a down system is get it working with the "out of the box" OOB basic 127.0.0.1 settings all the way through first. THEN updating realmd realmlist and a couple of CONF file is cake after that.
Going back to connect to self OOB formula is always a nice idea when you are stumped. It helps to run through the "MySQL Server Instance Config Wizard" sometimes too. That thing can be funky! If you cannot update your security settings in "MySQL Server Instance Config Wizard" then you know you have a MySQL issue in play too. Right?

I ran the upgrade and when i try to log in the game i get an error saying it connot validate the version the client is on. Anyone else run into this and fix it. the vers the client is is 2.3.3 and im using the new 5082 mangos.

About the “MySQL Server Instance Config Wizard”, I DO have an issue when clicking Finish, it can't proceed my changed settings for some reason.

hay im having problems setting up a server im getting tons of errors i host vent, cs,and g-mod servers is there anyone that can help me make a wow server work it would be rilly appreciated.
i have vent and skype (zode <~~skype name)
im having some trouble with the databases, if i run the CMD command (step 4) it says it cant connect to the local host, any help? total noob at this ><

I understand what you mean but if I could customize my self I wouldn't be posting here. The creatures I am trying to get rid of are UNSELECTABLE. The infernal is like part of Karazhan instead of a mob. I can't select him. I can't select the cyclone either. Besides, the caps might get me a better chance of them noticing my post instead of passing by it. So civilty won't help here.
I'd like to share the testing checklist I've compiled thus far. If anyone else would care to contribute that should be helpful.

[ ] Right click to move bunches of items into bank quickly work?
[ ] Self Play to 127.0.0.1 working?

[ ] Internet play from Public external passthrough IP working (or not applicable)?
[ ] Log out in the middle of kill quest and counters are retained correctly? (Ascent bug mostly)
[ ] Caster Mobs casting spells?
[ ] Most high level instances appear to be working as expected? If not list the bugged ones.
[ ] Fishing works? (Ascent bug mostly again)
[ ] Flight paths working?
[ ] Crafting works?
[ ] Hunters tame pets, keep pet by feeding, train pets (give pet growl 2/3/4? learn 'call pet')?
[ ] Warlock quest to get imp and other pets working?
[ ] Paladin quest to learn rez working?
[ ] Rogue Druid Stealth working acceptably? Do mobs not see you as they should?
[ ] Mangosd.exe crashes?
[ ] Warrior improved mortal strike does not bring the cooldown to 5 seconds.

Please add to this list so I can add it to my testing checksheet. Note how I am not testing for all of the more commonly reported bugs which are failures to install correctly (regardless of who's fault that may be).
This list is for testing for the quality of the gameplay and bugs from the PLAYERS perspective more than the system owner, DB and network maintenance viewpoint. You guys with me?

@Muskar: Sure. When I couldn't get it to work. That's exactyl what I did. I'm just trying to be helpful. When I did this and found I couldn't play locally talking to the same machine, I was able to rule out network connectivity issues and security passthrough and a whole host of possible problem scenarios. My database needed to be completely uninstalled, reboot, reinstall, reboot and voila.
It worked locally. Then I changed the Realmd realmlist and the CONF files and router passthroughs again and what do you know public facing also worked.
I was just sharing my own troubleshooting method. I never said it was the best or the brightest, just that ti worked FOR ME. You'll also note this advice is free. I make no guarantee of it being suitable for any purposes or for any time you asve or dont save by taking my suggestions.

I had this exact problem. Complete removal of MySQL and reinstall of MySQL with two cold reboots is what resloved that FOR ME. It seemed somehow my database had a different password than the one I assigned to it. It thought my password shuold be YES OR NO or some other krap. Excuse my French.

I'd like to post a testing checklist but it's rejecting it and not showing it everytime I keep trying to post it. Any ideas? It's just a short list of common bugs and when I past it into here and submit it seems to accept it but nothing shows up.

It's very rare for single users to get special treatment like that. Either trust in luck for somebody to have time, patience and/or feel like helping you in that way.
Though I suggest you to specify your problem here instead. (And of course make sure that nobody asked that question before, before posting it).

As far as I recall, step 4 is about doing 4 things:
1. Push the '1' button.
2. Push the 'Enter' button.
3. Wait for it to finish.
4. 'Press any key to continue' <--- seems obvious.
"Can't connect to local host" doesn't seem to relate to that step since there is no "connection" established in this step.

Awesome instructions. Got it work work 1st time. Plays great in my VMware Fusion M$ XP and I connect to my mangos private server on my Mac. Runs great! TY guys.

To me it seems like you can't access your MySQL because you use the wrong username and/or password.
Are you sure your username is felix and password is root?
i restarted my computer and when i got back, i couldnt connect to my server anymore =\
Like several others i'm having a problem with server login. Password & connection appear to be working fine, but once it hits the character list it says "Logging into Game server" then eventually goes back to the realm list. Having used uTorrent for several years I know how to port forward, but it does not help. It happens when trying to login on the server and from remote machines. It appears to be totally random as it worked on and off yesterday. Please help :S!

ok it took my list that time. I use this to try out a new version. Usually play a hunter to like 20 then do the same with a lock to 10 and paladin to 10 to get imp/voidwalker and rez for pally. Please add more things you like to test for so I can add them to my list. Then when new versions come out we can more effectively test and cehck off what we know works and share the insight and understanding and the progress. =)

Yeah cameron. It's not really that tough with the nice step by step menus and repack done by Reaper-X and Oatman here. The depth and quality of this mangos software brings with it an added complexity that is unavoidable.
If you want a no brain single click server Blizzard already provides that for a modest fee. If you want a super easy two click private server, I started out with an "Ascent" repack by Knaur (search for it -google- still our friend) that was pretty much click setup and follow the prompts and it was tough to mess it up. Little bit buggy and crashed sometimes but they included an auto-restarter for when it crashed.
If you have some hours to put in and eventually want your private server to be as close to the real retail, I think you are tracking the correct forum/blog right here.

I'm thinking of doing a complete fresh install without the backup of my characters since it seems so messy... the backing up bugs it all I think, it's really annoying that the folders have changed and I haven't found a manual backing up guide from previous releases to this one.
I will attempt to backup my data first though, and if that doesn't work I will do a complete fresh install.
If that doesn't work I will post my errors here =)

I ran the batch file from cmd again to see what the cmd window said and this is it:

It's not the password I'm worried about, the username isn't usually different than root. It's not very simple to change, so if you aren't completely sure your username is "root", try that.

Ok this may seem a little off-topic since it's related to this post instead, but since the other topic is old, I'll give this a try:
I have a problem. I added a few objects and I can't seem to find a way to delete them again.
.targetobject does only find a Rich Thorium Vein, and if I do .targetobject 22083 it can't find anything.
.delobject 22083 doesn't work either.
Any ideas or support?
In addition, I spawned a boss twice and the second one isn't targetable or anything so I can't delete it, this is awful since I spawned it a wrong spot.
Any help?
Additional information; I do no have any experience of editing MaNGoS outside of WoW, so please if you refer to editing tables or other data, please explain it more detailed.

How do I edit the level requirements for each GM level?
I would like to have it this way:
GM4 (Admin) - 255
GM3 - 100
GM2 - 90
GM1 - 80
GM0 (Players) - 70
This IS possible, since I have seen it before on another MaNGoS server.
If anyone know how to do this, please let me know.

MyISAM is the default storage engine. It is based on the older ISAM code but has many useful extensions. (Note that MySQL 5.0 does not support ISAM .)
Hey guys, I can run this perfect locally, but I ran into some problems when trying to use my IP. I ran the .bat file and changed all the config files to my IP, but I have seen somewhere that I need to do this:
"- open command prompt and type below command
- C:\MySQL\Bin\mysql -u root
- Use `realmd`;
- UPDATE `realmlist` SET `name` = ‘The server name‘,
`address` = ‘Change this to use your public IP‘ WHERE `id`=1 LIMIT 1 ;
- quit;"
Well when I try this, it doesn't work..I get this:
"ERROR 1045 (28000): Access denied for user 'root'@'localhost' "
So i tried doing this instead: mysql -u root -p
It then prompts me for a password, I enter mine, then I get this error...
Nevermind...scratch all that above...I took care of all that, but I am still getting this error when I try to start mangosd:
"World Database: XXX.XXX.XXX.XXX;3306;root;root;mangos
Could not connect to MySQL database at XXX.XXX.XXX.XXX: Host 'XXX.XXX.XXX.XXX' is not allowed to connect to this MySQL server
Cannot connect to world database XXX.XXX.XXX.XXX;3306;root;root;mangos"
I have tried changing the "root;root" back and forth to "mangos;mangos" as well.

Windows server 2003. Please note that with sp2 it enables the firewall automatically.
It's odd btw, my server can be accessed without choosing option 6 and configuring it to otherwise than 127.0.0.1
hey... i dont know what to do or how to do this... can anyone give me a runthrough on how toget to play the test server?
@Muskar: It only seems messy to me until I use SQLYog to export to CSV format be sure to click the EXCEL compatible output feature and you can then also import from those same CSV Excel files after making edits.
If you export both old and new formats it is a real breeze to spot differences and stubbing in a new column is also usually fairly straightforward.

ok i figured out what i did wrong and was able to log on, but when i log on and go to the realm selections screen i can see my realm but it will not let me select it. any ideas as to what i can do to fix this?
