Reaper Mangos 5005 - Easy WoW Private Server for WoW 2.3.2

Header Notes: Since this is my first compile I left out some stuff on accident. Nothing big but still I appologize. There will be a revision following this on Sunday evening fixing all the stuff I left out.

Another Mangos release again after the last 4875 release (that is released one month ago), and this time the release uses Mangos Core 5005 which was written by Jared (Oatman). In this release we are providing support for patch 2.3.2 along with ScriptDev 218, and UDB 334. In this release all the boats are fixed and many new things have been added. Since this is my first release for you guys, I hope it is not buggy. I have tested it multiple times and everything seems to be ok. Although, I am 100% positive that the backup tool works. So before you go to the upgrade folder, go to the normal batch file and backup your database.
And yet another note, I will not be providing support for the MaNGOS Mod. Instead I am going to include the Mod's already into the game because it is confusing to have to decide than switch back if a update is not provided for it. Oh and by the way, the only Mod in this release is the custom NPC Vendors. So here is a side note for everyone using Reaper's Previous MaNGOS Mod.
If your using MaNGOSMod
Go into your database and change mangosmod to mangos, and realmdmod to realmd and charactersmod to characters. From this point you may run the upgrade wizard and update and get back on track with updates. Since I have re-written the batch files, they are alot more customizeable so you may not have to change your database name. (This has not been tested, so backup before you do so.)
REQUIREMENTS:
1. MySQL Database and the Guide on how to Install MySQL
2. World of Warcraft Client version 2.3.0 or 2.3.2
3. Updated DBC's, VMAP's, and MAPS.---Extraction Tools Included in Release Under Tools.
-Already Extracted 2.3.2 DBC Files

Updated Batch file to fix lan party configurator : Updated 5005 Batch File .. To use it just overwrite the reaper-x-mangos.bat with this one ;)
Fresh Install:
Important Note : Fresh installation will overwrite your database
1. First you’ll need to install MySQL
2. Extracting Maps, DBC and VMaps from your World of Warcraft installation
(You can safely ignore the Patch-2, or any not found xxx-2 message)--This only happens if your extracting from patch 2.3.0
3. Run the reaper-x-mangos.bat inside the reaper-eazy-mangos folder, and you’ll see something like below image for an example, and then you just need to write the full path to your mysql installation directory (where mysql.exe and mysqldump.exe can be found) ;)
4. Selection Option 1 by pressing "1" on the keyboard and pressing enter.
Note: This will wipe out any previous versions of WoW you have in your database.
6. After finished with all of the above process, all you have to do now is just open the realmlist.wtf file in your World of Warcraft installation directory (the default location can be found at C:\Program Files\World of Warcraft) using Notepad, Wordpad, or your favorite text editor and then …
Replace :
set realmlist us.logon.worldofwarcraft.com
set patchlist us.version.worldofwarcraft.com
With :
set realmlist 127.0.0.1
and then save it and close realmlist.wtf File.
7. Now you just need to run mangosd.exe and realmd.exe from your mangos directory and then the next step would be creating your own username with your desired password for your own WoW server account as shown on below image followed by typing setgm to give yourself a GM level account
By the way, if you can’t see what you should type inside the mangosd window from the above image, actually you just need to type :
create username password
to create the account
setgm username 1-3
to give yourself GM Access at certain level (3 is the highest level and should only be used on your account while normal player is 0)
8. Finally if you have Burning Crusade client installed and want to be able to create Burning Crusade specific character, all you have to do is just type :
setbc username 1
to enable burning crusade expansion for your account :)
Optional :
If you want to change the server name into something else, you can use the reaper-x-mangos.bat to adjust it :)
Upgrading from 4875 Release:
1. Re-extract vmaps, maps and dbc because this version no longer supports the old World of Warcraft 2.3.0 installation and only supports the new 2.3.2
2. Go into your WoW Reaper Server Directory, and open reaper-eazy-mangos. Next I recommend opening the batch file and backing up your character data. This is optional though.
3. Open the Folder called "Upgrade" and run reaper-x-upgrade.bat.
4. Next type in the directory to the Bin Folder where your mysql.exe and mysqldump.exe files are located.
5. Then make sure that you are upgrading from the latest previous version or else you WILL corrupt your database and possibly lose your character data.

Actually I could edit it into the database if I had the time. What you could do though is download the WoWMap Viewer and find ProgrammersIsle and Write down the location. Then go into your database and find "locations" I think... Then add it into there.

Hm.. I continue to get the "cannot connect" or "cannot validate version" errors when I enter WoW. I'm pretty sure I installed everything correctly, just not entirely sure what I'm doing wrong here. Any ideas? If I can get this working I'm pretty sure I'll love it, first time working with this type of thing, lol.

Yes, forgot to mention that in the above post. I updated the DBC's VMAP's and MAP's, also my realmlist.wtf file is set up correctly and I have the correct version for the patch installed. I've spent about 4 hours reading forums and the like, and I have to congratulate you on being fairly thorough with your installation guides.

I had version 4875 installed (also had issues with that one but that was due to incorrect patch installed) so I wiped it clean and reinstalled when the 5005 version was uploaded to the site. Still working on seeing if I can fix the problem myself, btw how do I stop the CLI process in the mangosd cmd prompt window? It keeps telling me that things have been "moved" and won't allow me to enter commands >.>

Ok well we know that your connecting to the database, and that mangos is working. Are you sure you have your realmlist set to localhost?

I'll log that email on my server, anyhow if you are trying to upgrade, the upgrade only works with previous reaper versions. If you need help upgrading from your own compilied to this, I'd be glad to code a batch file for you.
right now my realmlist.wtf file reads:

not entirely sure if it should be saying anything else as it's my first day trying to do this, lol.

Reaper and Vista do not get along.. lol They still work but theres always compaints cause of Vista's Security. I write the batch files on Vista though. Its just the UserAccountControl that screws things up. Just run stuff as Administrators and if that doesn't work I guess you do not have to. Although, if you have problems I'd be glad to help.
Completely, I just updated it a few days ago to the latest patch, and I just downloaded your new client about 2 hours ago. I'm going to go ahead and try one more re-wipe and re-install. Wish me luck. I'll post on here with the results when it's done to let you know if it fixed the problem, maybe it just doesn't like my crappy computer >_<

I'm kinda new at this too, but if I'm right you need to put the path to your data file into the mangosd.conf file (open it with wordpad, not notepad)
this is how mine looks:

I had the same error, but after doing this it worked fine on that part of the installation.

Server kept crashing when I would shut it down, go figure. LOL
If you can use the crash log data, it's quite small, I can post it for you. But it's only useful if the 2 of you do any work on the mangosd.exe...

When it shutsdown it will freeze for 2 minutes then it will shutdown. If you click on it then it stops responding. Now in this version I do know that it still has problems like the waiting for 2 minutes, but it won't crash as long as you dont click on it after shutdown. So yea its fixed.

Must likely in the next release of reaper mangos. At the moment we only include the custom vendors but I'll probaly add that as a optional installation in the next version.

GM Island works, their is just no vendors there. Don't get me wrong though, unlike when reaper releases I plan on releasing quite frequently. So I'd give it 3 days before the next release.

LOL, that is just the boats and zeplins moving in the game to different locations. That means the server is done loading. Also when you want to type something in there just type it anyway. Even if it looks like the transports are knocking it off its still there. You just have to know what you type.
THANKS. If i have one suggestion it would be that the setup application not install the Reaper-X folder, but rather just extract it. I didn't like the fact that Reaper-x-easy-mangos appeared in my program list of installed programs.

ok i was updating from 4875 and i did everything fine
but in the cmd prompt it ask if i want to update my database and it doesnt do anything when i type yes and hit enter but remove the "yes" from the screen

Ok I ran ma mangosd and now its doing botybay moved to and show new point and keeps on doing that well my q is do i need to wait for it to finish or is it going to keep on doing that?
So is there anything special you have to do to get scriptdev to work cause all the mobs and bosses still don't use their abilities but just melee.
The configure batch file has a slight problem. When I run the configure editor it edits the config file but it leaves two different data directory entries in the config file. The first one has the default setting while the second one is the one edited by the batch file. The batch file also does not remove the old xp and drop rate lines in the config file.
Another problem is the option too configure mangos for lan has an issue. It allows you too set the ip address correctly, but after you put in the server name it gives this error:
'What' is not recognized as an internal or external command, operable program or batch file.
it says that twice then says it can not accept connection from password/host... something like that.
Note: Ok, found out why... the batch file does not ask for the mysql password so it is unable too access the database...

Glad Everythings working for you. Once it is moving ships that means its working. All it is doing is using mangos to move the ships. Its part of the whole new ships feature of getting them to work.

You know what? I think I forgot to add ScriptDev into it. LOL That was so stupid of me. I appologize a bunch, and am really sorry. I'll get this in the next release in three days.
Oatman but how do I run cmd's in that window when its running other things? Like change the gm lvl or make a new user or change pw?
I used the batch file from the previous release too configure the ip, and it worked. Wouldn't recommend using any of the other features of the previous batch file since they might not be compatable. From a quick test of the server, everything is there and seems too be running smoothly. At least in darkshore it is. Looks good so far. No character data lost either, thats better then my last attempt at an update install.

What you do is just type and pretend nothing else is going on. I'll talk to reaper about the fix. I am pretty sure he knows how to fix it.
NOTE: I HAVE JUST LEARNED HOW TO IMPLEMENT SCRIPTDEV2 AND IT WILL BE IN THE NEXT REVISION. I HIGHLY APPOLOGIZE FOR THIS, BECAUSE I AM NEW TO THIS STUFF. I THINK THAT IN THE NEXT PATCH EVERYTHING WILL BE PERFECT.

Ooh, one other note: if you do not wish too see the boats being moved, you can change this line in the mangos.conf file:
# Server console level of logging

LogLevel = 3
Changing it too: LogLevel = 1 will stop it from constantly posting all the state changes that take place on the server, like the boats moving for example.

Nah your doing a good job as it is keep it up man and thanks for both of your hard work. By the way do u know where I can get some Info on how to set up a fun server? My lvl cap is set to 255 and I want to edit db so the npc are set to higher lvl so ppl can lvl of them and plus so down the road npc's wont be on easy kill.
Would it be possible to get the updated .dbc files uploaded ssomewhere, because the extractors included never seam to work. Allways says the files cannot be found. All the files were put into "C:\Program Files\World of Warcraft\data\enUS" where the readme said.

Actually you do not really need a database update. In the mangosd.exe file just set the rates to like 1000000000000000 if you want to get instant level 70's and stuff like that. So basically just raise the rates. Also custom vendors are helpful along with using the
.lookup creature nameofcreature
then.....
.addspw idgiven by creature lookup

Yea, thanks for your help, I'll have you name mentioned in the next update for help and bug fixes.
Oh and I did on update from 4875 to 5005 and gm island and all the npc's are there and work fine im going to go see if my portals stayed there 2.
For the portals I had a SQl file sent to me and I loaded it in to the db and they worked. It be cool is some one can make a how to on how to put your own portals.

If all your doing is a update, I have it set to not get rid of that stuff. Although, if your doing a clean install they will not be there.
Otaman Tx, but I know how to play with the qwest/kill rates but I want ppl to be able to lvl to 255 so i need npc's In deferent areas set up to be able to lvl to 255 due to the are at most set to lvl 70

I thought I might try a fresh install and hope its better, but after reading these [posts and playing with it a bit, think I will just go back go 4875.
Manogs constantly displays the boat moving output to screen making it harder to track errors that occur.
You should either supress those, or give the option to supress in a config file. (default set to supress)
There Several Spell ID errors.
other observations:
when swiming, (not underwater) you get the breathing thing and can drown, even though you are not underwater)
Webwood Spiders in Shadowglen (and other mobs) bounce up and down out of the ground
aggro math (possibly aggro range) is incorrect.
(try to take a normal lvl 5 toon into the webwood cave..you will have about 15 spiders on you before you get in the cave entrance)
Seems that way with all mobs vs toons 1-3 lvls lower than mob...they come at you from really far away.
On the minimap, new quest icons (yellow !) show up as completed quest icon(yellow ?) ; completed quest icon (yellow ?) shows up as a repeatable quest icon (blue ?)
mouse dissapears completely when try to click on NPC to turn in quest.
encountered numberous mobs inside of the inns and banks.
Perhaps I did something wrong, dunno..worked find before and update when smoothly.
Anybody else notice these things?

Oh, I see.... Well thers a problem with that. Where would you put them in the first place the game is filled with npc's in the first place. If your trying to make a way to go way past 70 and level normally well thats tricky because theres no place to put them. Also even if their was your talking about a complete redo of the database. So that is kinda impossible unless you can find a database that has that, and if there is I'll ask reaper if I could support it on here.

Woah, something went extremely wrong..... Yes some of that stuff I am aware of and will be fixed in three days but to update to the version in three days you must have this. Alot of it has to deal wiht running a 2.3 database on a 2.3.2 client. The reason for this is UDB has not released it yet. Also the bosses will be fixed. Now, actually the new blue icons and stuff are dealth with WoW and your DBC's... Did you update your DBC Files? You'd be suprised but alot of that is not the Reaper compilers fault its UDB's... Don't worry though 90% of the stuff you listed will be fixed in the next revision.
So I'd just sit tight and live with it for the time being which is only a couple of days.

It is actually not possible because it has to deal with the code of your mangos.exe file. I already have it in the database but forgot about adding it to the compiler itself. Its my fault because I am a beginner but I think I got it all mastered. So as I said previously, jsut sit tight until the next revision comes, because it is nothing not too big but still sort of important and I'll get it fixed real soon. I promise.

SCRIPTDEV2 Rev 220 HUGE UPDATE ENDLESS POSSIBILITIES!
I just got to reading on the ScriptDev Forum and apparently they just released revision 220 that allows AI to be done in a database instead of through C++. Well what does this mean? It means that the World of Warcraft on the MaNGOS Server is just about to get really identical to the real world of warcraft server this year. I can see by the end of December seeing Mangos the most obsoluete server for WoW. So for the people that chose mangos over antrix, it is going to finally pay off.
I did what Jakalth sad to do and my worked fine it stop from scrolling and game was working fine.
oatman I was thinking more of not putting new npc's but have the ones in game change to x2 or x3 or x3.5 on a lvl cap. but it be easyer if some one has a db for npc for a 255 lvl cap server. Ex: there is a kpsden server they have it set up to a 255 lvl cap and there npc in out land go up to lvl 255 on other areas they go up to 155.

I see, I cannot help you there. All I can say is do not leave mangos because ScriptDev 2 rev220 got released and a bunch is coming.
is it just me or have the mailbox's been removed I also take it guild vault has not been implemented

i wanted lvl cap at 255 also and i used sqlyog to edit the lvl caps
the downside is it takes a while because there are almost 18000 creatures and you have to change each individually but i some are blizzard test creatures that arent used so you can skip those (it says if they are test creatures or not)
and i have a question
is anyone else having problems getting monsters to job items? it always says theres no loot and i increased the drop

I had that happen to me but then I did something, and that was before this version. I am trying to think of what I did. I'll get back to you. I know its nothing to do with the database though.
Is anyone else noticing mailboxes being gone?
For those having the problem with the forward slash over the backslash with the DataDir, use must use WORDPAD and not notepad.
Notepad for some reason doesn't modify the file appropriately. Using Wordpad will make the change and you won't have the forward slash issue when you launch.

Once again I am not reaper, reaper is busy with other stuff at the moment and I compilied htis and I am a beginner.
Anyhow I thought that saving a script in wordpad will ruin the code...
If anybody has this program, I highly recommend DreamWeaver.

I figured out what happened to me. Well on my own before I started helping reaper my problem was that I was using a olderversion of mangos and newer database. This time the problem is oppisite, but I thought the way it is now, the mailboxes would still be there.
Guild Banks will most likely be released when UDB releases the update which I am hopeing is in 3 days or less cause I want to patch this version and fix over 20 bugs in this release. I got 18/20 solved so far. Now I am awaiting on help from reaper for the mangos config in the batch file and Mailboxes and Guildbanks and Database updates.
got my extractions of vmaps, maps, and dbc trying to run but only vmaps will.........maps comes out as an empty folder and dbc wont even launch (The application failed to intialize properly (0xc0000135). Click on OK to terminate the application.) i put the extract-enUS, MPQE, and SFmpq.dll files all into the directory that the readme says......wtf is going on!!!!

Are you on Vista?
For maps put extract-map and Ad.exe in the World of Warcraft game directory. Make sure to make the folder maps before you run extract-map.
For vmaps Run makevmaps_Simple and it will build them. Then it will say something about splitconfig.txt it will look like nothings happening but its actually adidng files to the vmaps folder. Also make a vmaps folder manually
For DBC put extract-enUS, MPQE,and SFmpq.dll in the data/en_US directory and run Extract-enUS
Also as a Side note I may just release the DBC's to a website.

Thanks for all the great work on this new revision. I'm attempting to update from 4875 and am having difficulty backing up my characters. It is asking me to input my database username, password, characters database name, and realmd database name. This is all confusing to me as I have not encountered this on reaper's previous revisions when backing up my database. Could you please give me some insight on how to set this up. Thanks
