Reaper Mangos 5005 – Easy WoW Private Server for WoW 2.3.2

NOTE: The next version following this will be released Sunday Afternoon!

Header Notes: Since this is my first compile I left out some stuff on accident. Nothing big but still I appologize. There will be a revision following this on Sunday evening fixing all the stuff I left out.
*ScriptDev2
*Transports going Crazy in mangosd.exe file
*Updated SQL Made for 2.3.2 instead of just a compatible version.
*Option in Batch file whether or not to install vendors on GM Island.
*FIXED Lan Party Option in Batch File
*AH-BOT is Now Going to be Included!!!
*Weather System Fixed!

Another Mangos release again after the last 4875 release (that is released one month ago), and this time the release uses Mangos Core 5005 which was written by Jared (Oatman). In this release we are providing support for patch 2.3.2 along with ScriptDev 218, and UDB 334. In this release all the boats are fixed and many new things have been added. Since this is my first release for you guys, I hope it is not buggy. I have tested it multiple times and everything seems to be ok. Although, I am 100% positive that the backup tool works. So before you go to the upgrade folder, go to the normal batch file and backup your database.

And yet another note, I will not be providing support for the MaNGOS Mod. Instead I am going to include the Mod’s already into the game because it is confusing to have to decide than switch back if a update is not provided for it. Oh and by the way, the only Mod in this release is the custom NPC Vendors. So here is a side note for everyone using Reaper’s Previous MaNGOS Mod.

If your using MaNGOSMod
Go into your database and change mangosmod to mangos, and realmdmod to realmd and charactersmod to characters. From this point you may run the upgrade wizard and update and get back on track with updates. Since I have re-written the batch files, they are alot more customizeable so you may not have to change your database name. (This has not been tested, so backup before you do so.)

Group Together

REQUIREMENTS:

1. MySQL Database and the Guide on how to Install MySQL

2. World of Warcraft Client version 2.3.0 or 2.3.2

3. Updated DBC’s, VMAP’s, and MAPS.—Extraction Tools Included in Release Under Tools.

-Already Extracted 2.3.2 DBC Files

4. Mangos Server :

Reaper Mangos 5005 SD2 218 UDB FULL | 14.3 MB | File Beam
Reaper Mangos 5005 SD2 218 UDB FULL | 14.3 MB | Rapidshare
Reaper Mangos 5005 SD2 218 UDB FULL | 14.3 MB | Mega Upload

Updated Batch file to fix lan party configurator : Updated 5005 Batch File .. To use it just overwrite the reaper-x-mangos.bat with this one ;)

Fresh Install:
Important Note : Fresh installation will overwrite your database

1. First you’ll need to install MySQL

2. Extracting Maps, DBC and VMaps from your World of Warcraft installation
(You can safely ignore the Patch-2, or any not found xxx-2 message)–This only happens if your extracting from patch 2.3.0

3. Run the reaper-x-mangos.bat inside the reaper-eazy-mangos folder, and you’ll see something like below image for an example, and then you just need to write the full path to your mysql installation directory (where mysql.exe and mysqldump.exe can be found) ;)

MySQL Input Directory

4. Selection Option 1 by pressing “1″ on the keyboard and pressing enter.
Note: This will wipe out any previous versions of WoW you have in your database.

Jared ReaperMangos Version of Menu

6. After finished with all of the above process, all you have to do now is just open the realmlist.wtf file in your World of Warcraft installation directory (the default location can be found at C:\Program Files\World of Warcraft) using Notepad, Wordpad, or your favorite text editor and then …

Replace :

set realmlist us.logon.worldofwarcraft.com
set patchlist us.version.worldofwarcraft.com

With :

set realmlist 127.0.0.1

and then save it and close realmlist.wtf File.

7. Now you just need to run mangosd.exe and realmd.exe from your mangos directory and then the next step would be creating your own username with your desired password for your own WoW server account as shown on below image followed by typing setgm to give yourself a GM level account

By the way, if you can’t see what you should type inside the mangosd window from the above image, actually you just need to type :

create username password

to create the account

setgm username 1-3

to give yourself GM Access at certain level (3 is the highest level and should only be used on your account while normal player is 0)

8. Finally if you have Burning Crusade client installed and want to be able to create Burning Crusade specific character, all you have to do is just type :

setbc username 1

to enable burning crusade expansion for your account :)

Optional :
If you want to change the server name into something else, you can use the reaper-x-mangos.bat to adjust it :)

Upgrading from 4875 Release:

1. Re-extract vmaps, maps and dbc because this version no longer supports the old World of Warcraft 2.3.0 installation and only supports the new 2.3.2

2. Go into your WoW Reaper Server Directory, and open reaper-eazy-mangos. Next I recommend opening the batch file and backing up your character data. This is optional though.

3. Open the Folder called “Upgrade” and run reaper-x-upgrade.bat.

4. Next type in the directory to the Bin Folder where your mysql.exe and mysqldump.exe files are located.

5. Then make sure that you are upgrading from the latest previous version or else you WILL corrupt your database and possibly lose your character data.
Upgrade Warning

If you have any questions or concerns, please post them below and Reaper, The Community, and I will be glad to assist you. :)

    ;-P

Thanks for making this so easy!

  10. Yepa said Jan 23, 2008 at 10:41 pm

I fixed the Error 0 just now. What you need to do is uninstall MySQL, then manually go in and delete the folder and all of its contents. Reinstall MySQL and it should work this time.

  11. Yepa said Jan 23, 2008 at 10:39 pm

When I try to start mangosd it has an error saying that it can’t find the mangosd.conf file. Thing is the file is right there in the same folder. I can’t figure out whats going on.

    Dear Reaper -x,
    (HAHA, levity funny…..)

any ways, i had an older installation of your mangos server on my comp. it had MySQL 5.0 on it. so idecided to update. the only problemis that i had forgotten my root password. so i went in and reinstalled the mySQL server and reset the password. then when i went to execute the selected tasks. then it gave me the error 0 when it got to initializing the services. i read the other posts and googled a bit and found other people who had my exact same problem so htey said run a commmand in command prompt to fix the issue. i ran the command and the problem was still there… i am starting to get a little agrevated because this has happend on my two main candidates for a server

    please help

    SIrelewop.

When I choose option 5 on the batch-file (Mangos Config Editor – Mangos.conf/realmd.conf/scriptdevs.conf) I get an error saying; “This message is not an internal commando, external commando, program or commandofile”. Or something like that.

  23. Dragon Lady said Jan 22, 2008 at 12:27 am

Ok, nvm, I figured it out. Sorry!

  24. Dragon Lady said Jan 22, 2008 at 12:25 am

I have everything set up correctly. At least I think so. However I’m seeing “account information is invalid”. I made a GM account. My realmlist is set to 127.0.0.1. There are no errors when running mangosd.exe or realmd.exe. Am I forgetting to tweak something?

    Sorry for the noob question ^_^;

  32. Ffs Died said Jan 21, 2008 at 2:04 am

Last question (sorry for 4x posting) where should i put reaper-x folder? inside my WoW folder? or can i run mangosd from my documents and will it still work?

  33. Ffs Died said Jan 21, 2008 at 2:02 am

OMg… how long is the vmap thing?!

  34. Ffs Died said Jan 21, 2008 at 1:37 am

Thx Reaper this guide is super easy compared to the 4825, I had a hard time executing the stuff but this is just easy you basicly just did all the work, i just run the programs ^_^ and i got a question, when i run mangosd file it loads but it says cannot find map 004335 or something like that… Is it because i didnt make folder maps in WoW directory and ran Ad.exe?

  35. Carnane said Jan 21, 2008 at 12:00 am

Okay, everything’s peachy except for the Vmaps extraction.

For some reason, even though I made the folder in WoW’s directory, no files are extracted there.

I’ve used all four of the vmaps extractor, extractor v2, make vmaps, and SIMPLE make vmaps.

Nothing seems to be working, and I would love for this to work.

  36. ThomasFromNorway said Jan 20, 2008 at 11:26 pm

DAMNIT! once again, after i write root and type my password, i get ” MySQL gjenkjennes ikke som en intern eller ekstern kommando,kjørbart program eller satsvis fil”. translated from norwegian to english, that would be: “mySQL is not recognized as an intern or extern commando, runnable program or ( i dont know how it is translated)” repeated 4 times. anybody else thats gotten this? what ports beside 3306 do i have to forward?

  37. ThomasFromNorway said Jan 20, 2008 at 10:01 pm

Okay, this is strange. all of a sudden, the extracting of DBC and maps are going smooth:S its like miracle:D if this works…then damn=D

  38. Aaron said Jan 20, 2008 at 8:03 pm

OATMAN i sent u an email about logmein because i dont think you did it last night because my comp was turned off

  39. Foxdie said Jan 20, 2008 at 7:57 pm

Im new so i hope u can understand this but, does this version mean that you dont need the SDB?

  40. ThomasFromNorway said Jan 20, 2008 at 6:38 pm

Actually, the only thing going smooth was the extraction of the Vmaps. if memory serves right, then something happened when i extracted the maps as well, im gonna re-install wow now and try again. ill let you know how it goes:) thanks for the help everybody:)

  41. ThomasFromNorway said Jan 20, 2008 at 6:36 pm

Yeah, i got a problem with the extracting of the dbc files… does anybody here have a european wow and could extract the dbc files from 2.3.2 and make them avaible for download?:D that would be SO great=D Sorry for my bad english, Norwgian:P

  42. Aaron said Jan 20, 2008 at 9:19 am

OATMAN i got logmein can you help me setup my server i sent u an email to the address u mentioned

  43. NathanRedd said Jan 20, 2008 at 8:58 am

the tool used to extract from the data folder does not work with Vista. If the dbc files are downloaded elsewhere, this will run just fine.

  44. nathan said Jan 20, 2008 at 8:48 am

    £Thomas From Norway

I do not know if it will work on vista if your from Norway but, Vista is fully compatible with it.

  45. zach said Jan 20, 2008 at 8:30 am

  47. NathanRedd said Jan 20, 2008 at 8:01 am

so, how about readding the setrep command to the list, please? :)

  48. ThomasFromNorway said Jan 20, 2008 at 6:14 am
