Reaper Mangos 5005 - Easy WoW Private Server for WoW 2.3.2

Header Notes: Since this is my first compile I left out some stuff on accident. Nothing big but still I appologize. There will be a revision following this on Sunday evening fixing all the stuff I left out.

Another Mangos release again after the last 4875 release (that is released one month ago), and this time the release uses Mangos Core 5005 which was written by Jared (Oatman). In this release we are providing support for patch 2.3.2 along with ScriptDev 218, and UDB 334. In this release all the boats are fixed and many new things have been added. Since this is my first release for you guys, I hope it is not buggy. I have tested it multiple times and everything seems to be ok. Although, I am 100% positive that the backup tool works. So before you go to the upgrade folder, go to the normal batch file and backup your database.
And yet another note, I will not be providing support for the MaNGOS Mod. Instead I am going to include the Mod's already into the game because it is confusing to have to decide than switch back if a update is not provided for it. Oh and by the way, the only Mod in this release is the custom NPC Vendors. So here is a side note for everyone using Reaper's Previous MaNGOS Mod.
If your using MaNGOSMod
Go into your database and change mangosmod to mangos, and realmdmod to realmd and charactersmod to characters. From this point you may run the upgrade wizard and update and get back on track with updates. Since I have re-written the batch files, they are alot more customizeable so you may not have to change your database name. (This has not been tested, so backup before you do so.)
REQUIREMENTS:
1. MySQL Database and the Guide on how to Install MySQL
2. World of Warcraft Client version 2.3.0 or 2.3.2
3. Updated DBC's, VMAP's, and MAPS.---Extraction Tools Included in Release Under Tools.
-Already Extracted 2.3.2 DBC Files

Updated Batch file to fix lan party configurator : Updated 5005 Batch File .. To use it just overwrite the reaper-x-mangos.bat with this one ;)
Fresh Install:
Important Note : Fresh installation will overwrite your database
1. First you’ll need to install MySQL
2. Extracting Maps, DBC and VMaps from your World of Warcraft installation
(You can safely ignore the Patch-2, or any not found xxx-2 message)--This only happens if your extracting from patch 2.3.0
3. Run the reaper-x-mangos.bat inside the reaper-eazy-mangos folder, and you’ll see something like below image for an example, and then you just need to write the full path to your mysql installation directory (where mysql.exe and mysqldump.exe can be found) ;)
4. Selection Option 1 by pressing "1" on the keyboard and pressing enter.
Note: This will wipe out any previous versions of WoW you have in your database.
6. After finished with all of the above process, all you have to do now is just open the realmlist.wtf file in your World of Warcraft installation directory (the default location can be found at C:\Program Files\World of Warcraft) using Notepad, Wordpad, or your favorite text editor and then …
Replace :
set realmlist us.logon.worldofwarcraft.com
set patchlist us.version.worldofwarcraft.com
With :
set realmlist 127.0.0.1
and then save it and close realmlist.wtf File.
7. Now you just need to run mangosd.exe and realmd.exe from your mangos directory and then the next step would be creating your own username with your desired password for your own WoW server account as shown on below image followed by typing setgm to give yourself a GM level account
By the way, if you can’t see what you should type inside the mangosd window from the above image, actually you just need to type :
create username password
to create the account
setgm username 1-3
to give yourself GM Access at certain level (3 is the highest level and should only be used on your account while normal player is 0)
8. Finally if you have Burning Crusade client installed and want to be able to create Burning Crusade specific character, all you have to do is just type :
setbc username 1
to enable burning crusade expansion for your account :)
Optional :
If you want to change the server name into something else, you can use the reaper-x-mangos.bat to adjust it :)
Upgrading from 4875 Release:
1. Re-extract vmaps, maps and dbc because this version no longer supports the old World of Warcraft 2.3.0 installation and only supports the new 2.3.2
2. Go into your WoW Reaper Server Directory, and open reaper-eazy-mangos. Next I recommend opening the batch file and backing up your character data. This is optional though.
3. Open the Folder called "Upgrade" and run reaper-x-upgrade.bat.
4. Next type in the directory to the Bin Folder where your mysql.exe and mysqldump.exe files are located.
5. Then make sure that you are upgrading from the latest previous version or else you WILL corrupt your database and possibly lose your character data.

Actually I could edit it into the database if I had the time. What you could do though is download the WoWMap Viewer and find ProgrammersIsle and Write down the location. Then go into your database and find "locations" I think... Then add it into there.

Hm.. I continue to get the "cannot connect" or "cannot validate version" errors when I enter WoW. I'm pretty sure I installed everything correctly, just not entirely sure what I'm doing wrong here. Any ideas? If I can get this working I'm pretty sure I'll love it, first time working with this type of thing, lol.

Yes, forgot to mention that in the above post. I updated the DBC's VMAP's and MAP's, also my realmlist.wtf file is set up correctly and I have the correct version for the patch installed. I've spent about 4 hours reading forums and the like, and I have to congratulate you on being fairly thorough with your installation guides.

I had version 4875 installed (also had issues with that one but that was due to incorrect patch installed) so I wiped it clean and reinstalled when the 5005 version was uploaded to the site. Still working on seeing if I can fix the problem myself, btw how do I stop the CLI process in the mangosd cmd prompt window? It keeps telling me that things have been "moved" and won't allow me to enter commands >.>

Ok well we know that your connecting to the database, and that mangos is working. Are you sure you have your realmlist set to localhost?

I'll log that email on my server, anyhow if you are trying to upgrade, the upgrade only works with previous reaper versions. If you need help upgrading from your own compilied to this, I'd be glad to code a batch file for you.
right now my realmlist.wtf file reads:

not entirely sure if it should be saying anything else as it's my first day trying to do this, lol.

Reaper and Vista do not get along.. lol They still work but theres always compaints cause of Vista's Security. I write the batch files on Vista though. Its just the UserAccountControl that screws things up. Just run stuff as Administrators and if that doesn't work I guess you do not have to. Although, if you have problems I'd be glad to help.
Completely, I just updated it a few days ago to the latest patch, and I just downloaded your new client about 2 hours ago. I'm going to go ahead and try one more re-wipe and re-install. Wish me luck. I'll post on here with the results when it's done to let you know if it fixed the problem, maybe it just doesn't like my crappy computer >_<

I'm kinda new at this too, but if I'm right you need to put the path to your data file into the mangosd.conf file (open it with wordpad, not notepad)
this is how mine looks:

I had the same error, but after doing this it worked fine on that part of the installation.

Server kept crashing when I would shut it down, go figure. LOL
If you can use the crash log data, it's quite small, I can post it for you. But it's only useful if the 2 of you do any work on the mangosd.exe...

When it shutsdown it will freeze for 2 minutes then it will shutdown. If you click on it then it stops responding. Now in this version I do know that it still has problems like the waiting for 2 minutes, but it won't crash as long as you dont click on it after shutdown. So yea its fixed.

Must likely in the next release of reaper mangos. At the moment we only include the custom vendors but I'll probaly add that as a optional installation in the next version.

GM Island works, their is just no vendors there. Don't get me wrong though, unlike when reaper releases I plan on releasing quite frequently. So I'd give it 3 days before the next release.

LOL, that is just the boats and zeplins moving in the game to different locations. That means the server is done loading. Also when you want to type something in there just type it anyway. Even if it looks like the transports are knocking it off its still there. You just have to know what you type.
THANKS. If i have one suggestion it would be that the setup application not install the Reaper-X folder, but rather just extract it. I didn't like the fact that Reaper-x-easy-mangos appeared in my program list of installed programs.

ok i was updating from 4875 and i did everything fine
but in the cmd prompt it ask if i want to update my database and it doesnt do anything when i type yes and hit enter but remove the "yes" from the screen

Ok I ran ma mangosd and now its doing botybay moved to and show new point and keeps on doing that well my q is do i need to wait for it to finish or is it going to keep on doing that?
So is there anything special you have to do to get scriptdev to work cause all the mobs and bosses still don't use their abilities but just melee.
The configure batch file has a slight problem. When I run the configure editor it edits the config file but it leaves two different data directory entries in the config file. The first one has the default setting while the second one is the one edited by the batch file. The batch file also does not remove the old xp and drop rate lines in the config file.
Another problem is the option too configure mangos for lan has an issue. It allows you too set the ip address correctly, but after you put in the server name it gives this error:
'What' is not recognized as an internal or external command, operable program or batch file.
it says that twice then says it can not accept connection from password/host... something like that.
Note: Ok, found out why... the batch file does not ask for the mysql password so it is unable too access the database...

Glad Everythings working for you. Once it is moving ships that means its working. All it is doing is using mangos to move the ships. Its part of the whole new ships feature of getting them to work.

You know what? I think I forgot to add ScriptDev into it. LOL That was so stupid of me. I appologize a bunch, and am really sorry. I'll get this in the next release in three days.
Oatman but how do I run cmd's in that window when its running other things? Like change the gm lvl or make a new user or change pw?
I used the batch file from the previous release too configure the ip, and it worked. Wouldn't recommend using any of the other features of the previous batch file since they might not be compatable. From a quick test of the server, everything is there and seems too be running smoothly. At least in darkshore it is. Looks good so far. No character data lost either, thats better then my last attempt at an update install.

What you do is just type and pretend nothing else is going on. I'll talk to reaper about the fix. I am pretty sure he knows how to fix it.
NOTE: I HAVE JUST LEARNED HOW TO IMPLEMENT SCRIPTDEV2 AND IT WILL BE IN THE NEXT REVISION. I HIGHLY APPOLOGIZE FOR THIS, BECAUSE I AM NEW TO THIS STUFF. I THINK THAT IN THE NEXT PATCH EVERYTHING WILL BE PERFECT.

Ooh, one other note: if you do not wish too see the boats being moved, you can change this line in the mangos.conf file:

LogLevel = 3
Changing it too: LogLevel = 1 will stop it from constantly posting all the state changes that take place on the server, like the boats moving for example.

Nah your doing a good job as it is keep it up man and thanks for both of your hard work. By the way do u know where I can get some Info on how to set up a fun server? My lvl cap is set to 255 and I want to edit db so the npc are set to higher lvl so ppl can lvl of them and plus so down the road npc's wont be on easy kill.
Would it be possible to get the updated .dbc files uploaded ssomewhere, because the extractors included never seam to work. Allways says the files cannot be found. All the files were put into "C:\Program Files\World of Warcraft\data\enUS" where the readme said.

Actually you do not really need a database update. In the mangosd.exe file just set the rates to like 1000000000000000 if you want to get instant level 70's and stuff like that. So basically just raise the rates. Also custom vendors are helpful along with using the
.lookup creature nameofcreature
then.....
.addspw idgiven by creature lookup

Oh and I did on update from 4875 to 5005 and gm island and all the npc's are there and work fine im going to go see if my portals stayed there 2.
For the portals I had a SQl file sent to me and I loaded it in to the db and they worked. It be cool is some one can make a how to on how to put your own portals.

Manogs constantly displays the boat moving output to screen making it harder to track errors that occur.
You should either supress those, or give the option to supress in a config file. (default set to supress)
There Several Spell ID errors.
other observations:
when swiming, (not underwater) you get the breathing thing and can drown, even though you are not underwater)
Webwood Spiders in Shadowglen (and other mobs) bounce up and down out of the ground
aggro math (possibly aggro range) is incorrect.
(try to take a normal lvl 5 toon into the webwood cave..you will have about 15 spiders on you before you get in the cave entrance)
Seems that way with all mobs vs toons 1-3 lvls lower than mob...they come at you from really far away.
On the minimap, new quest icons (yellow !) show up as completed quest icon(yellow ?) ; completed quest icon (yellow ?) shows up as a repeatable quest icon (blue ?)
mouse dissapears completely when try to click on NPC to turn in quest.
encountered numberous mobs inside of the inns and banks.
Perhaps I did something wrong, dunno..worked find before and update when smoothly.
Anybody else notice these things?

Oh, I see.... Well thers a problem with that. Where would you put them in the first place the game is filled with npc's in the first place. If your trying to make a way to go way past 70 and level normally well thats tricky because theres no place to put them. Also even if their was your talking about a complete redo of the database. So that is kinda impossible unless you can find a database that has that, and if there is I'll ask reaper if I could support it on here.

Woah, something went extremely wrong..... Yes some of that stuff I am aware of and will be fixed in three days but to update to the version in three days you must have this. Alot of it has to deal wiht running a 2.3 database on a 2.3.2 client. The reason for this is UDB has not released it yet. Also the bosses will be fixed. Now, actually the new blue icons and stuff are dealth with WoW and your DBC's... Did you update your DBC Files? You'd be suprised but alot of that is not the Reaper compilers fault its UDB's... Don't worry though 90% of the stuff you listed will be fixed in the next revision.
So I'd just sit tight and live with it for the time being which is only a couple of days.

It is actually not possible because it has to deal with the code of your mangos.exe file. I already have it in the database but forgot about adding it to the compiler itself. Its my fault because I am a beginner but I think I got it all mastered. So as I said previously, jsut sit tight until the next revision comes, because it is nothing not too big but still sort of important and I'll get it fixed real soon. I promise.

SCRIPTDEV2 Rev 220 HUGE UPDATE ENDLESS POSSIBILITIES!
I just got to reading on the ScriptDev Forum and apparently they just released revision 220 that allows AI to be done in a database instead of through C++. Well what does this mean? It means that the World of Warcraft on the MaNGOS Server is just about to get really identical to the real world of warcraft server this year. I can see by the end of December seeing Mangos the most obsoluete server for WoW. So for the people that chose mangos over antrix, it is going to finally pay off.
I did what Jakalth sad to do and my worked fine it stop from scrolling and game was working fine.
oatman I was thinking more of not putting new npc's but have the ones in game change to x2 or x3 or x3.5 on a lvl cap. but it be easyer if some one has a db for npc for a 255 lvl cap server. Ex: there is a kpsden server they have it set up to a 255 lvl cap and there npc in out land go up to lvl 255 on other areas they go up to 155.

i wanted lvl cap at 255 also and i used sqlyog to edit the lvl caps
the downside is it takes a while because there are almost 18000 creatures and you have to change each individually but i some are blizzard test creatures that arent used so you can skip those (it says if they are test creatures or not)

is anyone else having problems getting monsters to job items? it always says theres no loot and i increased the drop

I had that happen to me but then I did something, and that was before this version. I am trying to think of what I did. I'll get back to you. I know its nothing to do with the database though.
Is anyone else noticing mailboxes being gone?
For those having the problem with the forward slash over the backslash with the DataDir, use must use WORDPAD and not notepad.
Notepad for some reason doesn't modify the file appropriately. Using Wordpad will make the change and you won't have the forward slash issue when you launch.

Once again I am not reaper, reaper is busy with other stuff at the moment and I compilied htis and I am a beginner.

I figured out what happened to me. Well on my own before I started helping reaper my problem was that I was using a olderversion of mangos and newer database. This time the problem is oppisite, but I thought the way it is now, the mailboxes would still be there.
Guild Banks will most likely be released when UDB releases the update which I am hopeing is in 3 days or less cause I want to patch this version and fix over 20 bugs in this release. I got 18/20 solved so far. Now I am awaiting on help from reaper for the mangos config in the batch file and Mailboxes and Guildbanks and Database updates.
got my extractions of vmaps, maps, and dbc trying to run but only vmaps will.........maps comes out as an empty folder and dbc wont even launch (The application failed to intialize properly (0xc0000135). Click on OK to terminate the application.) i put the extract-enUS, MPQE, and SFmpq.dll files all into the directory that the readme says......wtf is going on!!!!

Are you on Vista?
For maps put extract-map and Ad.exe in the World of Warcraft game directory. Make sure to make the folder maps before you run extract-map.
For vmaps Run makevmaps_Simple and it will build them. Then it will say something about splitconfig.txt it will look like nothings happening but its actually adidng files to the vmaps folder. Also make a vmaps folder manually
For DBC put extract-enUS, MPQE,and SFmpq.dll in the data/en_US directory and run Extract-enUS
Also as a Side note I may just release the DBC's to a website.

Thanks for all the great work on this new revision. I'm attempting to update from 4875 and am having difficulty backing up my characters. It is asking me to input my database username, password, characters database name, and realmd database name. This is all confusing to me as I have not encountered this on reaper's previous revisions when backing up my database. Could you please give me some insight on how to set this up. Thanks

1. For example you have a database named mangosmod, you need to rename it to mangos. Do this with wow off. You need to turn Mangosmod to mangos, charactersmod to characters, and realmdmod to realmd. I recommend PHPMYADMIN for this or Navicat or SQL Yog. If not then I think you can rename the folders to change it. Once that is done go through the updater.
2. No I cannot support those mainly because AHBot and JailBot are sadly no longer compatible with MaNGOS. I wish they were because they were great mods. Anyhow if you want to continue recieving updates you have to make the switch and lose those 2 cool features. Who knows maybe in the future the programmer of AHBot will make a compatible version.

Do u know how can i add a new command to the list that will do the same ass .tele commands but will only have few command in it so ppl that join the server can use some of the tele commands that i will set for them to use? Ex: I will have a new cmd like .tele2 gmisland and ppl at GM lvl 0 can use it. So the list of tele commands wont be whole.

Hello again i have got Every thing up even spawned most of the vendors.
but when i right click on a vendor it dose nothing. side note; when i put my mouse over the vendor the icon dose not look like the "seller icon or a beg." but it looks like the icon when you talk to a random NPC.
just woundering if there is a setting i have to change to turn them into VENDORS

go to where mangosd.exe is. around their their should be a file called mangosd.conf . open it with notepad or something. go down about 3/4's of the way and you should come across something looking like this (it might be a bit hard to find as everything looks similar):

After exstraction of Maps, Vmaps and Dbc, Run the reaper-x-mangos.bat inside the reaper-eazy-mangos folder... There type 2 for characters beckup, after that is done u can type 1 for install and after install type 4 to restore your characters....
And databases are:
Realmd is realmd
world/Mangos is mangos
Characters is characters
All of these database names are defoult...

"@prefix@/share/mangos" or close to this.
change this to where it gose to your vmaps, maps and db folders are for example,
change "@prefix@/share/mangos"
to

Tried upgrading, run ok...apart from two problems:
No new DBC folder was extracted, so i couldn't copy a new one to my WoW/Data folder, is that a problem?
Then major problem is that when i run upgrade, i get to the Yes or No screen, type in Yes and nothing happens, type in No or anything else for that matter, nothing happens....
Are the two problems linked?

I am VERY shocked someone actually got MaNGOS Auction House Bot to work. Now I'll spend a bunch of time on it to see how I can implement it. Also do not leave reaper because if you do, you will nto recieve updates because people usually start their own version to get popular and never do and stop making them so you get stuck with no updates. With Reaper MaNGOS we update as soon as we can.

Well we attempted and we THOUGHT that it was no compatible with the newer version of MaNGOS but apparently now it is. I'll see what I can do today.

Download the new version of 5005 on the site. Then run the reaper-mangos.bat file. Then go to the characters backkup option. Select your mangos database characters database and all the other questions it has for backups. Or you can skip backups and just open the reaper-upgrade.bat and update your database. The backups are for being extra precautious.

Do not use the mangosd.conf editor in the batch file because it is broken. I talked to reaper for over an hour last night and we are removing it in our next release. You need to go to your wow directory and find mangosd.conf and edit it with wordpad, notepad, or dreamweaver.

watch when mangos loads up and see if it gives any errors when it reaches the loot tables part. Also, log in too the server and kill a mob, loot it then pop out and see if mangos says anything about the loot tables.
I had a problem like this in mangos 47xx but it dealt with the spawn tables. Had too reinstall the server again too clear it up since I don't know how too repair the database through mysql.
I'm shure someone here can talk you through a database repair though, if it is that.
Well with updates it should go thorugh if he did the update tool. Although if you DID A BACKUP THEN UPDATED THEN RESTORED YOUR BACKUP that will ruin your game. Reaper has not done it that way since the last 4 releases, because he found out that it will crash your system if you backup then restore. So just do the backup for safety htne go to the reaper-upgrade.bat file to update then your all done. OH make sure you copied the new mangos files included.

1: are your ports opened on your computer?
2: did you edit the "hosts" file in your C:\WINDOWS\system32\drivers\etc folder too include your new connection? adding this for example, too the bottom of the file: "192.168.x.x xxx.xxx.xxx" where the xxx.xxx.xxx is your new connection ip, and the other is your network ip.
3: if your using a router, have you opened the ports and added port forwarding too it?
4: if you have an ip that changes often, did you make a custom ip useing a dynamic dns provider too connect too your computer?(not necessary but makes it so you always have the same connection too your computer even if your ip changes.)

I am having the same difficulty as Dumbass. Had no issues with running 4875, and I followed all the instructions for upgrading. I have checked and rechecked everything I can think of, but it wont allow a log in. the message i get is "The information you have entered is not valid. Last night when i ran the mangosd.exe everything went fine. This morning when i tried to run it it came up with an error saying "Error loading `creature_equip_template` table
Anyone know how to fix that?
New discovery.. Even with realmlist.wtf changed, and loading wow.exe directly, it is still logging directly in to blizzards server. Thus explaining why my log in sequence doesnt work. Anyone have any ideas as to this one?

yes this may sound newbish but a guide on how to b/u characters would be nice my problem has been i figure im doin a backup but no accounts are there however when i create a random account i see the accts so im confused
Here is the solution to my problem....
In c:\program files\world of warcraft\ folder there is a folder called wtf. Within this folder is a file called config.wtf
within this file are two net addresses locking wow to the blizzard server. one is the loginserver address which needs to be changed to the network address of the mangos server, the other is the patchserver address which just needs to have the dns name removed from the quotes. THis solved the problem for me.
in mangos window type create "username" "pass" desired
then in mangos window type setbc "username" 1
if you have tbc installed that is
then type setgm "1-3" for you desired gm level
No Quotes
ignore the scrolling text it will still work

try hitting eneter a few times and see if mangos command prompt is showing maybe you are typin but the scrolling stuff is hiding it. if thats the case just type what you are typing will end up on several lines due to the scrolling text but the commands will still work

go to where you downloaded reaper mangos to.. open the folder. look for a folder in their called Tools. open that then follow the instructions on the following page (the files you need for this are in the three forlders in the Tools forlder):

Do not use the mangosd.conf editor in the batch file it is corrupt and being replaced in the next patch. Edit mangosd.conf manually with notepad or wordpad or dreamweaver.

Everything you wanting to do is more of a Ascent/Antrix type of server. Mangos is more of a realistic WoW server for people who want the game very identical. Antrix is for a almost complete different game. Although, we may support Antrix in the near future.

That is a problem with your WoW Installation, you need to reinstall world of warcraft and get the patches.

Ok Make sure you have the latest patches. For World of Warcraft and make sure your using our 5005 Release.
I went through the update it looked like it worked flawlessly and when i open mangosd it looks like the servers up correctly.
But it gives me unable to validate game version
Ok is your WoW updated to 2.3.2 and are you using our new mangosd.exe and realmd.exe and conf files that we gave in the package. Because you have to make sure those where dragged along also not just updating. Updating updates the database. You also got to drag the new mangosd.exe along wiht everything else in there because that is the new files also required to play.
should i try to upgrade again?
Okay my WoW is updated to 2.3.2 i was using the old Mangosd.exe .. so i use the new one and the error message is not under logs

LOL, its ok. As a matter of fact I am new to managing MaNGOS and am learning as I go. I have learned over a hundred things since yesterday. Alot of it with coding. So yea, if your only using the update tool all that does is update your database you also got to drag the new files in the folder we provide and replace then with waht you have. THen run mangos.exe after you edit the .conf file. Then try to play and you should be able to.

Do not update you database twice unless you want to corrupt it.

The thing is, if I had full control I'd give some kind of timer. Apparently the only thing holding me back is a Database Update from Brian. I am expecting it in 2 days. -Hopes- Other than that I am expecting alot of questions to be answered. See, I run my own server and its behind what I released on this site. The WoW folder should be located In:
C:\WoW
Then create a folder in WoW called "data"
Now download our 5005 version. Drag all the files in the version you downloaded into your WoW folder. So in there, there is now files like mangosd.exe
realmd.exe
MangosScript.dll
Folder reaper-x-mangos
-Stuff Like That-
Now you go into the reaper-x folder and if your starting fresh, you open the batch file and enter you MySQL Data then choose option 1 and press enter. That will install your database.
Now open realmd.conf and mangosd.conf and edit them to connect to your database. Also do not forget to include where the data directory is located. C:\WoW\data
Then you can run both realmd.exe and mangosd.exe
Then change your realmlist.wtf with notepad and change it to
set realmlist 127.0.0.1

i tryed what you said but the error still comes up in the mangosd.exe :(. in the .conf file i changed the part i needed to(the bit at the very bottom):

Since you ruined it, you need to start from scratch.
Download the reaper 5005 file. Extract the file Contents to
C:\WoW
Run the batch file and do option 1 to install it. Then edit your mangosd.conf and realmd.conf and you should be well on your way.

Hey! I installed Mangos 5005, but when I run the mangosd.exe at one point it just starts "moving" zones from different coords.. It seems to be the same zones over and over again and it doesn't stop, have had it running for hours now.

It is all fine. Those are the ships and zepplins moving, the flood in the mangos windows will have that disabled in the next release. Other than that its all working.

I am still in the process of updating to 5005, but some of the things I noticed in the last release that need to be fixed:

Druids can't get the quest for bear form.
Haste doesn't work. The very first time I equip an item with Equip: Haste on it, it works fine...as soon as I die, or log out, or anything similar, the haste is no longer applied to my character, even if I remove the equipment and equip it again. Respawning the item has no effect on this either.
Spell Damage bonuses from items are bugged or something. (As far as custom equipment goes.) I have a grand total of a little over 13k bonus damage on my equipment, but my character screen won't show this (and doesn't actually apply to the spells, either) until I remove all my equipment and put it back on again.
Monsters move WAY too fast. If I cast a spell on one, the mob is on me inside of a second.
Monsters glitch through the ground and walls (the wolves in the human starting area are a great example of this.)
Pets are glitched. Both my warlock and hunter can't use their pets at all. I tell them to attack, and they run/dash/etc to the mob, then just sit there. The only way to get them to attack the enemy is to have them on defensive and wait until I get attacked.
None of the 'events' in instances work. Try running Naxx.
Most of the mobs in the end-game instances aren't done correctly. As a matter of fact, it looks like all that was done was to put the bosses in, and randomly through some trash around the zone.
Something I'm having issues with as well...After a couple minutes of play time, mangos crashes on me. The last thing I see in the mangos window is always about game events. Despawn DMF barker, etc. Is there any way to turn these events off? Or will 5005 hopefully fix this?

BUT i have never seen this one.
Have you tryed uninstalling MySQL server AND the gui you use like SQLyog. then going into C:\Program files and Deleteing the Folder "MYSQL".

Just copy the msvcr71.dll file from your wow folder and place it in the reaper mangos folder. It fixes it right up.

Open the mangosd.conf, using wordpad, and look for the following line near the top:
# Server console level of logging
# 0 = Minimum; 1 = Basic&Error; 2 = Detail; 3 = Full/Debug
# Default: 0

LogLevel = 3
Just change the loglevel too 1 and it should clear things up a little. This section just changes how much info is displayed in the mangosd screen.

it looks like your database is missing. Were you useing one of the mod versions of reaper mangos or is this a fresh install? If you used a mod version previously, then the database names will be different then the ones this version needs. If it's a fresh install then you need too use the other batch file included too do a full install.
for an update from a previous install do the following...
1: do ctrl-alt-delete too bring up the windows task manager.
2: look for a process named mysql-nt.exe, in the processes tab, and tell it too end process.
3: find your database folders in the mysql directory; c:\Program Files\MySQL\MySQL Server 5.0\data is the default one.
4: look for folders named charactersmod, mangosmod, and realmdmod. and change them too characters, mangos, and realmd
5: restart mysql, or restart your computer
6: try re-updating mangos like you did before.

I did have my server working perfectly, but after adjusting some values within "mangosd.conf", mangosd.exe no longer opens. It opens for a split second and quits.
Could anyone please help me with this one? I thought it may be the values i changed but i reinstalled Mangos and it still doesn't open.
i think i might know my problem... i'm still on patch 2.3 and havent upgraded to 2.3.2 yet. i'l upgrade now and try again :)

When I start the 5005 version I cant do anything because of the boats moving.. I cant type anything like set GM priviliges or create a new account =/ so when I start typing something I get cut off mid sentence because of it

open it with notepad or something and search for this near the top AND bottom of the page:

its safe to close reaper-x-mangos.bat now.
go to where you have world of warcraft saved (default C:\Program Files\World of Warcraft) and look for realmlist.wtf and open it with notepad or something. delete BOTH lines inside it and type in this instead:

click file then click save. its safe to close realmlist.wtf now

once your saved and closed realmlist.wtf go to your reaper-x directory and open up mangosd.exe and realmd.exe
select mangos.exe from the taskbar and wait for it to load. once loaded it will go on about transports. thats fine. now type the following where Myusername and Mypassword are what you want them to be:
create Myusername Mypassword
setgm Myusername 3
setbc Myusername 1
(only use the last one if youve got burning crusade instaled)
if you get cut out in mid sentance by the transports just keep typing and it'l work.

This is driving me insane"er".
Got everything finaly working ,but now the mangosd.exe is exploding after it loaded everything. I see something strange tho ,it try to load the ah bot and Im using latest reaper 5005.
Had to manualy fix the databas because the batfile refused to work (yea checked everything for over 4 hours including many reinstalls).
Anyone got some fresh ideas? Im totaly out of them atm....
how much time does it take to load the maps in mangosd.exe? i think im in an infinte loop :S ive been waiting for about 1hr....it hasnt stoped looding and im seeing smame names of places

check existing of map file '@prefiz@/share/mangos/maps': not exist!
go into mangosd.conf with notepad and change the data dir line to where ever you put those files

well.. im on it but it wont let me do the comands like .kill and stuff
to make your acct have gm status run the mangosd.exe and when its done at the bottom type
setgm username 3
(3 is for admin and highest 1 regular gm and lowest)
and to play on the internet run the batch and choose the selection for setting up a lan party and go through all that
if you have a dynamic ip you'd have to ask someone else
and i dont know how to setup it up so you dont have to manually enter everyones acct info for them to start

How can i get other people to log in my server?
Too allow other people too log into your server you'll need too change the ip the server uses too connect.
I only know how too get this too work useing the batch file "reaper-x-mangos.bat" from the older version 4875 server. The one included with the 5005 version doesn't work due too a bug in the config and ip editor. If your upgrading and still have your older server info, use the batch file included in that version, select option# 5 from it's menu. It will give you your network info, including the ip you use too connect too the internet. When it asks for your IP, put in your internet IP. It will then ask for a name for your server. Name it whatever you like, names with spaces can be used. This should allow others too connect too your server through the internet.

the config editor, option #4, on the batch file included with reaper mangos 4875 can be safely used too edit the mangos.config file as well.
But do not use the first option with the older batch file for it will probably mess up your database. Only use the batch file included with reaper mangos 5005 too do the install or upgrade.

are you changing the ones at the very bottom?
if so scroll up about half way and it has them all again
change them there and it will work

K, so one of the players on the server noticed something odd on 5005 and I went to verify it myself.
Sockets are borked after update.

Ok so i got up to
7. Now you just need to run mangosd.exe and realmd.exe from your mangos directory and then the next step would be creating your own username with your desired password for your own WoW server account as shown on below image followed by typing setgm to give yourself a GM level account
and wehn i open them up it won't let me type because "Cannot connect to World database 127.0.0.1;3306;mangos;mangos;mangos" n stuff, and when it was on step 3. so where can mysql.exe and mysqldump.exe can be found?sorry dont kno anythin bout MySQL, hardly no wat it is, ty
Those 2 gems look like barbed deep peridot from the pvp vendor in honor hold? If so, you can only have one of them per socketed item. It is the same on a blizzard server. It might not have been true in previous versions of mangos.

those 2 files are in your mysql bin directory.
c:\Program Files\MySQL\MySQL Server 5.0\bin is where it is on my comp. you might have mysql installed in a different folder or have a different version then community version 5.0
the barber deep peridot is also available from the pvp vendor in the hord town in hellfire paninsula.

Everything was very clear. And it wasn't too hard even for me. Thanks. But i have 1 question. When i starting mangosd.exe and realmd.exe how long i should wait? I mean when ill be able enter those commands like "create username password". Couse when i started those *.exe i was waiting about an hour until mangosd.exe was moving citys to some coordinates :) And i'm still waiting. I can't enter any commands anywhere. I'm having issues with connecting people from outside my network. I'm using 5005 with Wow 2.3.2 and internally it is working 100%. I followed the instructions to update the realmd database with my servers LAN ip and managed to get a friend to connect and create charcters etc. from inside my network.
However, trying to get someone to connect from an external source doesn't go so well. They authenticate and can see the realm but unable to get to character screen. It just bounces them back to realm selection. I have read that a few people have had the same issue and can confirm all the necessary ports are forwarded. Including 1400 and 1401 which someone suggested.
Any help appreciated. :-)

While the script is running you can type whatever you need to. It doesn't stop, the cities etc you see moving are the boats and zeppelins.

You have to extract again the maps from a client 2.3.2
the maps from 2.3.0 will not work.
vmaps seems to work but you better extract vmaps as well.

I had the same issue (along with many others if you read above). My problem was that I hadn't extracted the maps porperly. Within the Mangos folder and tools if i remember correctly, there are 3 other folders Vmap, DBC and Maps. Read the readme.txt files in there and run each of the .bat files to extract the maps.

I got the same problem as Cynn, but he didn't say what he did to solve it. All seems to be correct, 2.3.2 and 5005, realmlist changed to 127.0.0.1, paths and rates configured, but i got this "moved to" error all the time, and even if i create an account, gm3 and bc, it doesn't allow me to login. Does anyone know what should i do?
The server was working fine,until I tried to configure it so people could go on.But I did use my dynamic ip for my host,mangos,and sql database.And I used the lan guide to configure it and no I don't plan to play on lan

However with the 5005 version it is not allowed with the exact same gear and the exact same gems to be placed into sockets from what the player is telling me.

ill be working on a video on how to install this mod if oatman gets in contact with me i will be happy to upload it and share it, this will take some weight of oatmans shoulders.
I will also see about making a .sql file to place portals and vendors in the main cities if you wish.
What Reaper and Oatman are doing here is amazing i have learnt so much by going through the files they release to understand it all.
