Reaper Mangos 4875 – Easy WoW Private Server for WoW 2.3.0

Another Mangos release again after the last 4703 release (that is released one month ago), and this time the release uses Mangos Core 4875 (Clean Compiled without any custom patches) with Unified Database 331 and of course ScriptDev2 208. But as an important note, this version no longer support the old WoW 2.2.3 and you need to use the new WoW 2.3.0 in order for it to work ;)
And yet another note, since Reaper Mangos Custom version is still not finished yet (i’m really sorry for this), i’ll update this post later when it’s finished but to those who already use the previous Custom version actually you can also upgrade to this version without problem especially if you want to get this release as soon as possible, but you should make sure that :
- You’ve created a backup first just in case something goes wrong
- The Auction House bot is not going to work (don’t worry even if the configuration options is still in mangosd.conf it’s not going to affect your gameplay)
- The Set reputation is not going to work .. but it’s not going to affect your gameplay :)
- Finally the most important thing is … you’ll need to point the mangosd.conf and realmd.conf to the correct database used by the Reaper Mangosmod :)
But if you don’t feel like doing all of the above steps, then of course you can just wait for the next Reaper Mangosmod ;)
And finally here are the steps :
Requirements :
1. MySQL Database and the guide on how to install mysql
2. World of Warcraft Client version 2.3.0
3. Mangos Server :

To those who have WoW 2.3.0 enUS version and want to get the DBC File directly, feel free to download them from below link :)

OPTIONAL UPDATE :
Now you can get the updated GM Island vendor which is from the previous 4703 to be used properly on this 4875 release ;)

Fresh Installation :
Important Note : Fresh installation will overwrite your database
1. First you’ll need to install MySQL
2. Extracting Maps, DBC and VMaps from your World of Warcraft installation
(You can safely ignore the Patch-2, or any not found xxx-2 message) ;)
3. Run the reaper-x-mangos.bat inside the reaper-eazy-mangos folder, and you’ll see something like below image for an example, and then you just need to write the full path to your mysql installation directory (where mysql.exe and mysqldump.exe can be found) ;)
4. Now you just need to choose option number 1 to install the database as shown below, and when prompted for your mysql root password, don’t forget to write the correct password … :)
And one more thing, when you see something like in The Matrix movie (well … that’s how people called it) :) , you just need to wait until it finished and don’t interrupt the process
5. After finished with the database installation, now you need to choose option number 4 (required, unless you know how to edit the mangosd.conf manually) to adjust the datadir and adjust the exp rate, and drop rate (although the most important thing is your datadir path
6. After finished with all of the above process, all you have to do now is just open the realmlist.wtf file in your World of Warcraft installation directory (the default location can be found at C:\Program Files\World of Warcraft) using Notepad, Wordpad, or your favorite text editor and then …
Replace :
set realmlist us.logon.worldofwarcraft.com
set patchlist us.version.worldofwarcraft.com
With :
set realmlist 127.0.0.1
and then save it and close realmlist.wtf file
7. Now you just need to run mangosd.exe and realmd.exe from your mangos directory and then the next step would be creating your own username with your desired password for your own WoW server account as shown on below image followed by typing setgm to give yourself a GM level account
Btw if you can’t see what you should type inside the mangosd window from the above image, actually you just need to type :
create username password
to create the account
setgm username (1–3)
for example setgm myusername 3
to give yourself GM Access at certain level (3 is the highest level and should only be used on your account while normal player is 0)
8. Finally if you have Burning Crusade client installed and want to be able to create Burning Crusade specific character, all you have to do is just type :
setbc username 1
to enable burning crusade expansion for your account :)
Optional :
If you want to change the server name into something else, you can use the reaper-x-mangos.bat to adjust it :)
Upgrading from 4703 Release :
1. Re-extract Vmaps, maps and dbc because this version no longer support the old World of Warcraft 2.2.x installation and only support the new 2.3.0 :)
2. Go into the upgrade folder inside reaper-eazy-mangos directory and run the .bat file there and wait until the process finished
3. And done ;)
Note : You don’t need to worry about your custom stuff being overwritten by the upgrade process, because unlike before this time it’s only upgrade the necessary stuff only and not going to overwrite your custom stuff (but i assume that you’re using high id numbers for your custom stuff)
Finally i’d suggest you to check out the GM Commands List because there are some changes made at the GM Commands especially at the lookup command

alright i’ve got my vmaps and dbc files extracted and all that good stuff but I got all caught up in doing everything i didn’t look at my map folder, it is empty. i run extract-map.bat but it just opens and closes instantly any advice?
i am having a problem when i run mangods.exe or whatever it says that it can’t find the map files what am i doing wrong please help me

4th tutorial i’ve tried, please help me out. Got up to running Mangosd and Realmd (not upgrading from 2.2x)
and it says “cannot connect to database”. I can’t think what I’m doing wrong. I’ve got 2.3.0 vmaps, maps and DBC folders under \data. I’d greatly appreciate it if someone would help me out.
If any one wants to burn all of this to a dvd an mail it i’ll pay for the dvd and shipping

im having some trouble. I Installed everything fine, and everything went perfectly until I had to launch mangosd.exe
it loads until it gets to
Loading Quests
and then it hangs . . . any suggestions?
WoW! Ascent emulator is far superior! I’d say at least 90% of mobs are fully scripted and there are many less bugs

U must wait for newer ver of mangos like we are… Other than that u can delete wow.exe run the repair.exe and after that ur wow will be 2.0.0 so from that point patch it again to 2.3.0.
Guys after i have downloaded the later patch of WoW (2.3.2) my server is not working. Any ideas how can i ”patch” him up so i can play again?

Once I added creatures somewhere on the map with .addspw (creatureid) how do I get rid of them?
I have onyxia, ragnaros, nefarian… all in orgrimmar at different spawn times… haha. They will always spawn back. How do I get rid of them?

.unaura 15007 does not take off my rez sickness. It is stuck at 0 seconds, doesn’t seem to be effecting my equipment, the debuff is just stuck on me.
Nevertheless, everything runs perfectly if I then opens Wow and gives the account data and pw, the error message comes: ” The play version could not be checked the reason for it would be able to do a damaged file or a conflict with another program could be “, but if I realmlist put back again it runs again! Where is the problem? HP: I also let always mangosd.exe and realmd.exe run
I think the rogue is too powerful !

GM island and everything else is working perfectly.
Just when I try to teleport myself to Programmers Island I get that error.
# Fadil – I think you’re talking about GM island? I don’t know that error, when I installed everything was fine.. Did you extract the files from the GM-island-vendor to where it asked you to? After I did that I copy/paste the file into the C:\WoW\data. Not sure if that helps.
# Laughing_Man – I’m not an expert here or anything, but I’d like to try and help.. If you can’t extract files you may need to DL this program (you don’t need to validate your PC I believe)

Hey Im still having problems all around, For the extraction of all the map, vmap, and dbc.
How many files did anyone else with a working server get? and can any one upload the files so I/anyone can download them to make life easier?

Hey guys, silly question but I was wondering if the previous Jail/AH Patches will work for this 2.3.0? I was reading up on it and noticed it said (unupdated I presume) “it only works for 2.2.3″ .. anyone?

Can some one tell me where I can get a nice bd for a server that will be using 255 lvl cap. It is just all the npc stay at lvl 70 and its hard to lvl after lvl 70 to get to lvl 255 so it be cool to update my db to a fun server db.
Oh and alex use the .revive cmd when you dead in /g chat. Is just when your dead you cant talk in /s
.tele gmisland works for me 2 but only when my account is set to gm lvl 3 or 2, but i need to make it work so it works for accounts that are set at lvl 0.

Hasn’t been working on 2.3.2 for me.
Talk in guild chat first that way you can still use GM commands while dead even if you are not in a Guild.
Oh and this is compatible with 2.3.2

For the next release, I have talked to Reaper and I am going to be compiling it and coding that batch file for it. It is going to be redone a little different but more convienient for all of you. Like the Custom NPC Mod and Auction House. I am working on getting them to be an optional installation on the batch file for Reapers WoW and Tech Site. Oh and for the people expecting the release date…
Since reaper lives and Indonesia and I am from the US, it takes half a day for us to comunicate with each other by email. So I am planning on getting it released by tonight but then Reaper will probaly get it updated on the site by tomorrow. This also depends if he has enough time to write the blog for the update. does anyone else have the problem of trying to .revive yourself when youre dead and it sais “you cant chat when youre dead!” its really inconvinient
@ alex, i dont know what the problem is but .tele gmisland always works for me…. except that 2.3.2 has come out so i cant work on my server.
I installed gm island and it works ok. The only thing I want to do so any one can get to gm island. But I can fine the security lvl for command .tele gmisland its not in the commands db or maybe it is but under a deferent name. Can any one tell me how can I do so any one can use command .tele gmisland. I know I ask this b4 but when ppl say its in command db its not. Can some one be more detailed. Thank You.

Make sure you have updated your realmlist.wtf file located in your world of warcraft directory, make sure your realm and mangos.conf files located in your server directory are pointed to the right database IP, and make sure your realmd/realmist inside the database itself (using a program such as sqlyog) is pointed to the correct IP address.

After this last update my private server is telling me it cannot find itself. However it is also looking in the wrong spot and will not update to the IP I provide. I have also tried changing the settings in verious places to no avail. Please help! Will be leaving shortly and need it fixed before I go.

You are correct as far as the setskill goes once you learn a skill, but to learn something, it does fall under the spell command. I will show you how to learn guns, then you can apply it to any other weapon or armor that you want to learn. First we need to find out which number the gun skill is. So we type “.lookup spell guns”. The line we are looking for is the lowest number that says “Guns [Passive]“, which in this case is number 266. Now we can type “.learn 266″ and we now have the gun skill. To set it to the highest (lvl 70, it is higher for lvl 255) first do a “.lookup skill guns” which should come up with “46 Guns [known]” so we would type “.setskill 46 375 375″ (first number is the skill, second is what you are setting it at, third number is what you want the cap to be.) Hope this clears it up. Same steps to learn any other skill.

well think the realmd thing is fixed now, but Mangos still closes his self 0.1 sec i opened it so.. Help me out this plz!!
