Reaper Mangos Mod 4703 - Easy Custom WoW Mangos Private Server

This update is to those who are using my custom mangos release (or called Reaper Mangos Mod) and just like the previous 4651 Mod Version this Reaper Mangos Mod use the Jail Patch and Command patch so you can adjust your reputation easily, and also include Auction House Bot so there’ll always be auction on your server. Other than that two patch, in this release i’ve also include Custom Vendors created by D-Treize from Project Silvermoon forum (see screenshot below), that perhaps might be useful to those who want replacement for the custom vendor at GM Island (because this release use Unified Database and that GM Island vendor only available in Silvermoon DB only)
But first as a note, this release is geared towards to a more experienced mangos users, so if you’re still new to Mangos, i’d suggest you to grab the normal version instead (current normal version is at 4703 too)

IMPORTANT : If you’re upgrading from my 4651 MOD, you should download this updated batch file and overwrite the reaper-x-mangos.bat inside reaper-eazy-mangos directory with this one, btw i’d suggest you to get this one even if you’re not upgrading

Fresh Installation :
1. Extract DBC, VMaps and Maps (and oh i assume you’ve installed mysql and it’s working as it should)
2. Run the reaper-x-mangos.bat and write your mysql bin directory when prompted and then choose to install the database first
3. Choose option number 4 to configure the datadir and rate
4. Edit realmlist.wtf and replace :
set realmlist us.logon.worldofwarcraft.com
set patchlist us.version.worldofwarcraft.com
into :
set realmlist 127.0.0.1
5. Start mangosd.exe and realmd.exe
6. Create new account using these commands :
- create myusername mypassword
- setbc myusername 1
- setgm myusername 3
and login :)
Upgrading from Reaper Mangos Mod 4651 :
1. Run reaper-x-mangos.bat
2. Choose option number 99 and wait until it finished (do not interrupt it or there’s a high chance you’ll lose your character data) .. or to be safe, create backup using the reaper-x-mangos.bat in this release and choose the appropiate option when prompted :)
3. Now choose option number 4 to reconfigure mangosd.conf … and don’t use the previous mangosd.conf because it has been changed, and then open the mangosd.conf manually and adjust your Auctionbot GUID and Character ID accordingly
4. Done :)
And as a side note, if you need help on moving your character data into this release from older Mangos revision (below and not equal to 4651) or worry about losing your character data … you can always email me directly and i’ll convert it for you :)
And here’s some new additional commands for you (GM Only) to use which is available in this release :
1. jail – Syntax: .jail character hours [reason]
To jail character of course :P
2. jailinfo – Syntax: .jailinfo
Shows your jail status
3. unjail – Syntax: .unjail character
Releases character out of the jail
4. pinfo rep | jail – Syntax: .pinfo [$player_name] [rep] | [jail]
Output account information for selected player or player find by player_name. If rep parameter provided show reputation information for player. If jail parameter provided show jail information for player
5. setrep (reputation) – Syntax: .setrep REPID REPVALUE
Sets the REPVALUE of the reputation with the REPID to the REPVALUE. You can use .pinfo rep to get known reputation ids
6. setap – Syntax: .setap VALUE
Sets the arena points to the VALUE (0-999999)
7. sethonor – Syntax: .sethonor VALUE
Sets the honor to the VALUE (0-999999)
8. ahexpire – Syntax: .ahexpire <house id> <player GUID>
ahexpire will expire all the auctions in the requested auction house with the player GUID as the owner
9. ahdelete – Syntax: .ahdelete <house id> <player GUID>
ahdelete will delete all the auctions in the requested auction house with the player GUID as the owner

it looks to me you're using your public ip address instead of the default value (127.0.0.1) .. could you change the realm address into 127.0.0.1 first and then let me know if you can connect to your server or not :)

Can hunters tame pet without game crash ???
I asked this because i used one mangos server (not reaper-x)and when i go tame pet game crashes.
actually i dont experience any crash when taming pet (as you can see on the screenshot on my normal release *blackfang tarantula* lol)
on the databse trainers wont let you learn tame pet.. T_T...
ah actually to tame pet you'll need to do some quests first :P
if you never played wow on official server, i'd suggest you to lookup guide on how to learn tame pet :D

Just a few of questions:
1) In the config is there a way to increase the skill exp rate? I have no idea what the command is and couldn’t find a commented one.
2) Can you explain to me how to make an online registration site, so my friends can make an account on the net from their homes, instead of me entering them manually.
3) Is there a way to enter custom items into the games (e.g. “The Sword of A Thousand Truths”), I have seen another server where a GM had that item.
4) I see the NCPs that were on GM Island are gone now, is their anyway to restore them?

2. Ah first thing is you need to install apache (look at the related links on this page), and then you can choose to create your own registration page or use a premade template
btw if you're looking for a premade, you can try using this one :)

3. Sure beside if you look at the first image here on this page, it shows you that i'm using 3 weapon (all edited weapons but leave the original intact) :)
as for the steps, that's depend because mangos often changes it's database structure so if you're using an automatic custom item generator, there's a high chance it'll fail unless that automatic generator tool has been updated to work with the mangos revision you're going to use :(
but of course if you edit the database manually, you don't need to worry about that
4. Ah actually that's a custom made by silvermoon project and since this one use unified database (because there hasn't been any update on silvermoon database) though it can also be ported into this one, btw if you want to restore them then you'll need to retrieve all the creature, creature_template, and npc_vendor for that vendor (it is using id 100000 and above)

2. It automatically fills your auction house with random items (which is quite good especially if you're planning on running public server and don't plan to give GM status to everyone)
3. Unfortunately the only thing you can do is by reducing the PlayerSaveInterval value into lower value

Ah it seems to me you're not using the default username for this mod release ;)
So to fix it you'll need to edit the reaper-x-mangos.bat and change the username and password specified in upgrade process :)

For some reason I upgraded my revision to 4703 and it updated it good and all but it never gave me a charactersmod database table. So I cannot run the game. Everything else was working except for the fact that when I run mangosd.exe I can't play because there is no charactersmod table and I already did option 99.
Hey Reaper, I just wanted to thank you for these compilations, they are a great help to someone who only has limited time. I am learning a lot about SQL and such from working on these programs. I would like to agree with Jared though, your update batch file does not properly work from 4651 to 4703. I had to go back and run the reaperupdate.sql file on my own (after I figured out what happened). The sql file worked fine (nothing lost in the upgrade!) but it didn't run from option 99 in the batch file.

Lucky for him, he got the information ok. I finally figured that out once i lost all of my character data. <.< So let me tell everyone something about updating. Make sure that in your MySQL database that the user name mangosmod has rights to create a database or else its gonna screw up your whole data. Reaper, I STRONGLY advice you to tell people that or else they can run into what happened to me, cause now I have to give the sad news to all my users that there characters got deleted and that there is no way to retrieve them. So, everyone once again, "MAKE SURE THAT YOU HAVE THE USER "MANGOSMOD" HAVE RIGHTS TO CREATING DATABASE TABLES OR ELSE THERE IS A GOOD CHANCE YOU WILL LOSE YOUR DATA" I am not mad or anything I just wanna make sure this happens to no one else. The main reason is that there is a new database called charactersmod that removes the character data from mangosmod and places it in there and if you don't have the account mangosmod having full rights to the database then you could lose everything.
Also, make sure to run the backup before upgrading.
On second thought,
I've gone through so many errors, even when I did a clean install windows gave me an error report after 5 minutes of having the game open. I have decided to quit mangos because it is far too buggy. I recommend moving to Ascent Database because it has less errors and you can do WAY more things to your database. Going through this hastle for a full day really has bugged me and I have decided to quit.
i just tested it by fresh installing from 4651 Mod :( .. and i'd like to say i'm really sorry .. because i forgot to use root when upgrading (it should be like doing a fresh install)

once again i'm really sorry for this, but to those who already created a backup, you can just contact me directly and i'll help you directly
as for the error after having 5 minutes of gameplay actually i dont experience that problem

Isn't remote assistance for people on your network? If you need to connect I recommend remote desktop and using a VPN called Hamachi at http://hamachi.cc Then entering the IP Address they gave you, and if your not using Windows Server Edition or Professional and just basic home edition or Vista Home Premium or Basic then I recommend you to go to http://logmein.com and create a free account so that he can take control over your computer safely.

Actually if you replace the exe with the normal release, of course the .setrep and other command that can be used on the custom version isn't going to work :)
btw as for the remote assistance, actually you can choose whatever method you want but ... please be note that my connection isn't that fast so make sure that it support compression and you can set it in high compression mode ;)

hey reaper... loving your build and seems to be one of the most stable for mangos emu. As expected, i came across some bugs but plan to change those within mysql database so no biggie there. The only prob that concerns me now that i have no clue how to fix comes with the hunter class. (yes, more dreaded hunter bugs):/ here's what happens, everything seems fine except for the end of the taming process. I tame like normal, but when the cast bar finishes it's tick timer, it displays an error message of "interrupted". I have not moved my toon or tried to cast anything, i know better. The client registers that the animal was tamed in the gui, including ability to feed. but new pet doesn't move, attack, or anything. it just sits there. also, they are really tiny. for example, a saber cat shrinks to about the size of a buyable house cat pet. I have had this prob with hunters on most emu's that i have tried. I noticed in an earlier post that you said you got it to work for you. I would like to know if you have a clue as to what might be causing this issue for me. i'm using your newest build 4703 with UDB and not silver's. any help is greatly appreciated.

For those of us who are running the "normal" Reaper-X Mangos .4651 and desire to go to the "custom" .4703, do you suggest that we first cross upgrade to custom .4651 then update to the custom .4703, or simply upgrade to custom .4703 and follow the directions for the AHBot that are shown in the custom .4651 guide?

I am looking to install mangos. I have installed ascent a few times.
What i am hoping for is that the high end instances (all of TBC and raids) are working.
With ascent, the mobs are there, but not scripted to perform as if on retail.

I did a fresh installation the latest version (4703) for both the Official and Modified MaNGOS using your tutorial. On the MaNGOS server console, I can see that the map coordinates were being changed. I let the server run overnight, but it seems the map changing process is not going to end.
Is this normal?

figured out what was wrong with the hunter bug i had... it was the emu perse'.. somehow i corrupted part of my database. i reinstalled the core dbc files and now it works fine. my bad, i should have checked that b 4 posting.
but, the pets are still humouresly tiny. I can deal with that until i find the taming script call to change the adjusted size.
Great job on the emu, works a LOT better than ppl give it credit. keep up the great work!!

Was wondering what my little issue is here all of the sudden with this release?
Also i noticed in one of your screen shots you were duel weilding i think 2 handed weaponry and you had a netherdrake mount in silvermoon...and if i recall correctly it was under the UDB database? i was wondering how you did that and made your base stats (Str, Int, Dex, Dmg) so insane with being level 70. Cause I could find some nice use for those features...Thanks and i look forward to your 2.3 server releases!

I juat have a question regarding vendor npcs. I do the .lookupcreature vendor and it displays all the vendors, but when I .addspw the vendore ID nothing happens and in the mangosd script window I get the following errors...
Error: creature entry 41324 does not exist.
Error: creature entry 41310 does not exist.
Error: creature entry 41310 does not exist.
Error: creature entry 41311 does not exist.
Is there a way to get all these entries into the DB manually? Also the couple vendors that do spawn I cannot interact with.

Did you set the Console Level logging to 3 ? (if you didn't use the reaper-x-mangos.bat to adjust the datadir and edit the original mangosd.conf manually, the Console Logging level is set to 3 and it'll show you everything because 3 is for debug purpose) :)

.tele orgrimmar : teleport you to orgrimmar
.goname charactername : teleport you to the character name
.namego charactername : recall someone to your position (i usually use this lol) :P
3. Ah .. actually if you're doing fresh installation, it'll be preconfigured automatically .. but if you're restoring your character data, and overwrite the preconfigured character data, then you need to get the character id and it's guid first

Could you tell me are you trying to create backup for your old character data from 4651 ? if so .. all you have to do is just :
1. Choose the option to backup (2)
2. When prompted if you're using my release, answer no
3. When prompted if you're using revision 4664 and above answer no
4. When prompted for username and password (you can use root as the username with your root password) .. or use mangosmod (user) mangosmod (password)
and then, when asked for your mangos database name write mangosmod and when asked for your realm database name write realmdmod
that's it :)
and yes, that is originally two handed weapon but i modified it (not overwriting the original weapon but duplicating it) ... and also adjust the stat bonus, spell bonus, etc :D ... btw i'm currently working on writing guide about that one :)

QUESTIONS FOR PATCH 2.3.0:
It is released, it released today for US and GB. Both of part 2 were done and so was the finishing files to install patch 2.3.0. I assure you that it is live. Now, how long will it take mangos??? I think a good week becasue of the guild banks unless they decide to skip this issue.

Ah .. actually if you plan on using this version too and restoring your character data from my normal version, you'll need to :
1. Do a fresh installation (don't worry your normal mangos database is still safe becauset this version use new database) of this custom release
2. Choose to backup character using the reaper-x-mangos.bat included with the normal release
3. Copy the backup-char.sql and backup-realmd.sql into the reaper eazy mangos directory in Reaper Mangos Mod 4703
4. Run the reaper-x-mangos.bat from Mod 4703 and choose restore
5. Choose option 4 to adjust the mangosd.conf on this release
6. open mangosd.conf and disable auction house bot because you're restoring your character data
7. Look at my previous post about this custom version to see on how to configure the auction bot (it also tell you on how to disable auction bot) ... look right after the fresh installation guide :)

Unfortunately the only way to play with mangos currently is only by reverting to the previous 2.2.3 patch :(
As a side note, actually i have tried to made some changes so i can bypass the changes made to the dbc file that was introduced in patch 2.3.0 … and although it works and i was able to login and select my character, but right after i choose my character the WoW process crash to desktop and ask me to send the error report (obviously i’m not going to send it) :P .. and this happen even with just a newly created character
and just in case you want to revert to 2.2.3 but still keep the new 2.3.0 (which is useful especially to those who also plays on official server too) :
- Create a duplicate copy of your entire WoW game installation directory
- Set the realmlist.wtf in one of the new directory you’ve created to the official server address
- And revert the copy on another directory to WoW 2.2.3
and by doing that you'll still able to play on official server while keeping the 2.2.3 install at the same time

Actually I thought I had deleted everything and just installed the custom wow version from your script and the GM island vendors. I have custom vendors in stormwind and in Org as well. Is that from your custom install or is it still loading from the silvermoon DB somehow?

Um, i'm at the very last step and my bad luck strikes again so i really hope you can help me...When i open the mangosd.exe it starts up ok but then after Initiaze data stores it =96% and tells me this:
Some required .dbc files (1 from 39) not found or not compatible: C:\wowz\data\enus/dbc/ItemExtendedCost.dbc(Exist but have 14 fields instead 13)

Well I hate to bug you again but I have tried and tried to upgrade to the latest version and I keep coming back to the same issue. I get the upgrade or full install to complete successfully but when I reload the character data it doesn't work. I have looked at the results after the restore process and it restores accounts and I believe partial data.(using SQLyog) I say partial data since i can log on with old accounts, but when i get to character screen nothing is visible. However when I pick select realm the list will show the realm, and that the characters exist(qty number) but the character screen shows nothing. I have tried std and custom full or upgrade to no avail. I have also tried to use older versions of the bat file to pull data but all accomplish the same results. Perhaps you might have an Idea as to what direction to go with this issue.

Yes, unfortunately for now the only solution is to roll back to 2.2.3 (or wait for new release) because well even if i was able to connect with 2.3.0 the WoW client itself is going to crash right after selecting your character :(

Hello Galleon, actually the GM Island custom vendor is directly extracted from the Silvermoon database because it seems that some people love that custom vendor ;)

Ah it seems that you're using WoW 2.3.0 client which is still not supported yet, the only solution for now is to roll back into 2.2.3 :)

If mangos crash right after it finished loading, it seems that you're trying to use restored data :)
try open the mangosd.conf and disable the auctionbot first
look at my previous post for more info on how to disable auctionbot (look right after the fresh installation guide)

Yeah I have found my error and it was that whole replacing that .bat file you had updated over the one that was given in your original package. Thanks for the help, your guides are always excellent!
Also did you have to edit the mangossd or realm config files to allow flying pets (like that netherdrake you had) in azeroth?
And I noticed above you said you had to do quests to learn the taming and such and these are the codes to learn all of them if you find any need for them

ah no actually if you want to use flying mount in azeroth you can only use it if there's no loading screen appear when you're teleporting from outland (because flying mount is checked via the client not from the server process) :(
currently i only found that if you teleport to silvermoon from outland, you don't get that loading screen
step to use it :
1. go to outland, and mount your fav flying mount
2. type .tele silvermoon and done :)

Undy u have to uninstall and then reinstall the game, but once u reinstall it u get to take part in the not so fun part of manually locating the patches before 2.3, i had to do that but I always make a copy of the patch installer for every patch so that if i have to reformat or just reinstall the game I dont have to play "Hide and go patch"
is there no way of just deleting the patch or uninstalling it?
