Reaper Mangos Mod 4703 – Easy Custom WoW Mangos Private Server

This update is to those who are using my custom mangos release (or called Reaper Mangos Mod) and just like the previous 4651 Mod Version this Reaper Mangos Mod use the Jail Patch and Command patch so you can adjust your reputation easily, and also include Auction House Bot so there’ll always be auction on your server. Other than that two patch, in this release i’ve also include Custom Vendors created by D-Treize from Project Silvermoon forum (see screenshot below), that perhaps might be useful to those who want replacement for the custom vendor at GM Island (because this release use Unified Database and that GM Island vendor only available in Silvermoon DB only)
But first as a note, this release is geared towards to a more experienced mangos users, so if you’re still new to Mangos, i’d suggest you to grab the normal version instead (current normal version is at 4703 too)

IMPORTANT : If you’re upgrading from my 4651 MOD, you should download this updated batch file and overwrite the reaper-x-mangos.bat inside reaper-eazy-mangos directory with this one, btw i’d suggest you to get this one even if you’re not upgrading

Fresh Installation :
1. Extract DBC, VMaps and Maps (and oh i assume you’ve installed mysql and it’s working as it should)
2. Run the reaper-x-mangos.bat and write your mysql bin directory when prompted and then choose to install the database first
3. Choose option number 4 to configure the datadir and rate
4. Edit realmlist.wtf and replace :
set realmlist us.logon.worldofwarcraft.com
set patchlist us.version.worldofwarcraft.com
into :
set realmlist 127.0.0.1
5. Start mangosd.exe and realmd.exe
6. Create new account using these commands :
- create myusername mypassword
- setbc myusername 1
- setgm myusername 3
and login :)
Upgrading from Reaper Mangos Mod 4651 :
1. Run reaper-x-mangos.bat
2. Choose option number 99 and wait until it finished (do not interrupt it or there’s a high chance you’ll lose your character data) .. or to be safe, create backup using the reaper-x-mangos.bat in this release and choose the appropiate option when prompted :)
3. Now choose option number 4 to reconfigure mangosd.conf … and don’t use the previous mangosd.conf because it has been changed, and then open the mangosd.conf manually and adjust your Auctionbot GUID and Character ID accordingly
4. Done :)
And as a side note, if you need help on moving your character data into this release from older Mangos revision (below and not equal to 4651) or worry about losing your character data … you can always email me directly and i’ll convert it for you :)
And here’s some new additional commands for you (GM Only) to use which is available in this release :
1. jail – Syntax: .jail character hours [reason]
To jail character of course :P
2. jailinfo – Syntax: .jailinfo
Shows your jail status
3. unjail – Syntax: .unjail character
Releases character out of the jail
4. pinfo rep | jail – Syntax: .pinfo [$player_name] [rep] | [jail]
Output account information for selected player or player find by player_name. If rep parameter provided show reputation information for player. If jail parameter provided show jail information for player
5. setrep (reputation) – Syntax: .setrep REPID REPVALUE
Sets the REPVALUE of the reputation with the REPID to the REPVALUE. You can use .pinfo rep to get known reputation ids
6. setap – Syntax: .setap VALUE
Sets the arena points to the VALUE (0-999999)
7. sethonor – Syntax: .sethonor VALUE
Sets the honor to the VALUE (0-999999)
8. ahexpire – Syntax: .ahexpire <house id> <player GUID>
ahexpire will expire all the auctions in the requested auction house with the player GUID as the owner
9. ahdelete – Syntax: .ahdelete <house id> <player GUID>
ahdelete will delete all the auctions in the requested auction house with the player GUID as the owner

ok nvm that works but now there is a different problem-it says that itemextendedcost.dbc i’ll quote from it.
“some required .DBC files not found or not compatible:
C:\program files\world of warcraft\data\stuff/dbc/Itemextendedcost.dbc
Wrong client version DBC file?

Man i thought i was in the clear. Well at the very end of Mangosd.exe when i am able to type and it shows me all the commands, it gives me the “Mangosd.exe has encountered a problem and needs to close. We are sorry for the inconvience.” error. It does this every time at the same spot. Any idea why? In the meen time i’ll restart my comp and check over the files i guess. I’ll give you all the info i have…I just reinstalled and i’m at patch 2.2.3 and i already made a server on a different computer that i cant connect to.
ill copy what mangosd.exe says:

i no what’s wrong- i have to get my dbc, vmaps, and maps directory and put into a file called datadir, but i already did and it’s not reading it

Yes, you can choose any name you want ;)
for example, im using these :
X:\Wow 2.3
X\WoW 2.2.3
and it works just fine without any problem, but make sure that if you want to play on the official server, you run the wow.exe inside the wow 2.3 directory ;)

Actually if you get unable to validate game version message, that mean you’re running unsupported version of WoW
Currently the only version you can use with this release is just the 2.2.3 :)

ugh as if something worse could happen- when i open mangosd.exe it dusnt work- it ses correct the dataDir value in the mangosd.conf file.
nvm i fixed that
but now at the title, i dunno what account i set up, how do i set it up? and it ses i cant validate the game version when i type in a random user and pass.

basically all you have to do is just make a duplicate copy of your wow installation directory ;)
(i’m currently have both 2.2.3 and 2.3.0 wow on my hdd for test purpose) :)

You’ll need to give access to your username in the mysql database so it can access your pc from remote location (LAN or internet)

I got a really good question this time some one please answer this. Ok since the mangos is only 2.2.3 and i want to play my private server and the reg wow with 2.3.0 can i create two folders or how would i play with two different patches. Help please

I have a couple of questions for you reaper-X.
1) How can I change the look of the vendors (It’s a little unusal seeing bloodelfs in storwind), how can I add more npcs in different places amd how do I edit what they sell?
2) I am having a little trouble importing new item .sql files into mysql, what is the correct procedure to do it?
3) Is there a way I can see whos online? I know realmd shows who connections and logs, in but it doesn’t show if they are still online.
4) Can you please help me will setting up RoSpora I can seem to get a working setup with apache.
5) Do you have any idea how many people a 2mbit connection can handle at once, before the game becomes unplayable?

Nevermind — I deleted the version I had and reinstalled it to :\Mangos, went thru config again and it is working great now! Awesome compilation, works real well =)
Now my friend can’t even get on from his computer.. it gives him the same problem.
Hey Reaper, I just did a fresh install of your MangosMod for 4703, but now when I try to login to the game-server from my computer, it gets to the place right after Suggest Realm, it shows the realm I created, but open trying to join it, it says “Logging into Game-Server…” and instantly quits. My friend can join from his computer, and it worked with the normal 4703 Mangos. I’ve set my realmlist.wtf to “set realmlist 127.0.0.1″ already, and I don’t see any programs using port 3724.. got any ideas?

Starting event ? ah actually you just need to edit the game_event table in the database :)

If you can’t connect make sure that you put 127.0.0.1 as your realm address first before trying anything else
other than that you’ll need to also sure that there’s no other program use port 3724 (blizzard updater use this port which is the same as the realmd port) ;)

That’s because most mobs or boss is still not scripted yet :) … if you want to see whether mobs uses skills or not, you can go to Stratholme or Scarlet Monastery (though Stratholme really shows you what mobs can do)

i dumped my databases and installed a fresh copy, running mangos 4703 files. but im getting several errors that i didnt get in the previous builds. i think im missing some sql data. were in the mangos files can i find em..

(Stamina, Strength, etc…)

Im getting an error running mangosd.exe and realmd.exe “This applacation has failed to start because MSVCR71.dll was not found. Re-installing the application may fix this problem.” anywhere i can get MSVCR71.dll?
ok, I got past the error, but now I get this:

Just a question, are a majority of the instances pretty much a no go due to loot and the inability of bosses and mobs to use abilities other than straight attacks?

ok…i made a custom item for me as a gm and was wondering how i add it to the server for me. it is a sql file. anyone know how to add it to the server?
now it gets all the way to 100% on the mangosd but it says that my dbc files arent up to date?

Check the vmaps folder, it looks like your missing a file..
Try getting the vmaps files again.
use teh vmaps extracttor on your main WoW directory again and regrab them that should fix the problem or goto

Quick question reaper, is there a gm command to level up the pets that hunters can have? or give them training points just like you can do .modify tp on players? or is it just better to modify the xp rate to have them level faster? Been trying to mess around with things to make there loyalty go up faster is well…dont know if you messed around with any of that kind of stuff or not.

HOW do u begin events like darkmoon fair, hallows end etc, is there a command u cna use to trigger a start and end because i wanna startup some events like christmas events ( for christmas time ) aswell as some for fun..

It seems that you’re restoring your character data into this one (which overwrite the auction bot character i’ve included) … to fix it look at my previous post on how to configure auction bot (it’s located after the fresh installation steps) ;)

is there no way of just deleting the patch or uninstalling it?
Undy u have to uninstall and then reinstall the game, but once u reinstall it u get to take part in the not so fun part of manually locating the patches before 2.3, i had to do that but I always make a copy of the patch installer for every patch so that if i have to reformat or just reinstall the game I dont have to play “Hide and go patch”
