Reaper Mangos 4703 – Easy WoW Mangos Private Server

Time for another Mangos release and as the title said, this is a clean compiled version of Mangos 4703 (without any custom patches) with Scriptdev2 Revision 156 and Unified Database 0.8.1 with Changesets 326 applied. Although you can also download the small version (minus the Unified Database), that perhaps might be useful to those who prefer to update their mangos core manually :)

While Reaper Mangos Mod 4703 (the custom version) can be found at that link (Note: if you’re not familiar enough with Mangos i’d suggest you to get this one instead)
So here are the steps :
Requirements :
1. Working MySQL Installation (if you have MySQL Installed automatically from another Repack, i’d suggest you to completely remove it unless you know how to configure it)
2. World of Warcraft Client version 2.2.3 with TBC Expansion Pack installed (because that’s what i’m using right now, so if you don’t have TBC installed and not using the latest 2.2.3 version, i can’t really help you)
3. Mangos Server :

IMPORTANT : If you’re upgrading from my 4651, you should download this updated batch file and overwrite the reaper-x-mangos.bat inside reaper-eazy-mangos directory with this one, btw i’d suggest you to get this one even if you’re not upgrading

Update : It seems that some people love the custom GM Island Vendor made by Silvermoon Project, so i decided to convert it so you can use it on this 4703 Release, but as a side note because there is specific item that only exists on the Silvermoon Database, if you see message on the Mangosd Window saying that some item can’t be found, you don’t need to worry about it (it doesn’t affect your gameplay)
Download GM Island NPC Custom Vendor (you just need to run the batch file included)

Optional :
This section is optional to those who want to create a public server
4. You need to know how to setup port forwarding from your router first, and also configure your firewall to allow the port specified in Mangosd.conf and Realmd.conf (if you use DSL Connection, you’ll need to know how to setup port forwarding first or else your friend won’t be able to connect to your server)

Fresh Installation Steps :
1. Installing MySQL on Windows XP 32 Bit (you’ll need to have mysql installed first)
2. Extract DBC, Maps and VMaps from your World of Warcraft Client
3. Run the reaper-x-mangos.bat inside the reaper-eazy-mangos directory / folder, and you’ll see something like this, and now all you have to do is just write the full path to your mysql installation directory (where mysql.exe and mysqldump.exe can be found) ;)
4. Now you just need to choose option number 1 to install the database as shown on below image, and when prompted for your mysql root password, don’t forget to write the correct password … :)
5. After finished with the database installation, now you need to choose option number 4 (required, unless you know how to edit the mangosd.conf manually) to adjust the datadir and adjust the exp rate, and drop rate :)
6. Now after finished with all the above process, you’ll need to go inside your World of Warcraft installation directory (for example C:\Program Files\World of Warcraft) and then open the realmlist.wtf using notepad and …
replace :
set realmlist us.logon.worldofwarcraft.com
set patchlist us.version.worldofwarcraft.com
with :
set realmlist 127.0.0.1
save it and close realmlist.wtf file
7. Now you just need to run mangosd.exe and realmd.exe from your mangos directory and then the next step would be creating username of course :D by typing create username password inside the mangosd window as shown on below image as an example … followed by typing setbc username 1 … so you can choose Blood Elv and Draenei
finally you just need to type setgm username 3 so you’ll have the GM Power, and … done !!! congrats … now all you have to do is just login using the username you’ve created before ;)
Optional :
If you want to change the server name into something else, you can use the reaper-x-mangos.bat to adjust it :)
Upgrading from Reaper Mangos 4651 :
First of all i’m really sorry that since there are many changes made to the database structure itself in Mangos, i can’t write instruction on how to upgrade your server from any version below 4651 (or it’ll be a very long post and i know that you don’t really want to read a long post) :P
So to those who are still using Mangos revision below 4651, you can contact me directly if you need help :)
and here are the step to those who are using Reaper Mangos 4651
1. Backup any custom data you’ve created before (such as custom vendors, custom weapon, custom armor, etc) using your mysql client … (i’m sure those who are creating their own custom stuff already have their own mysql client ready to be used) … but remember though if you’ve created custom vendor just make sure that it is compatible with this mangos version ;)
2. run reaper-x-mangos.bat inside the reaper-eazy-mangos directory and then choose option 99 to begin the upgrade process … and wait until it finished
3. Choose option 4 to reconfigure your mangosd.conf and no, don’t use the previous mangosd.conf because it has been changed
4. Done :)

Well, could my problem have something to do that when i rerun the MySQL program I get to “execute” and it will not start service it I tried reDLing it…and the CMD says it is working >.< I think it is the enwest version of 5.0.45, I think I will try to get 5.0 so I can follow your exact steps
I had the same emssage as Nick becaus eI could not extract your DBC so I went and got 2.3.0 and found it did not work, so I found 2.2.3 and I did everything mangosmd.exe and realmmd.exe are both working fine but My Launsher will not connect to 127.0.0.1 is there nething that could cause this?

There is a bug so you dont award Arena Points when fighting in the Arena. And also the Gurubashi Arena Event is still bugged. I need a portal to Gurubashi Arena and I have tried to fix one so long now but when I click on it nothing hapends?

I have a rather weird problem. I have been running an older version of MaNGOS and there hasn’t been any problems at all. I updated to your 4703 with mods and (this is where it gets weird) my regular every day workstation can connect and play, but no one else can inside or outside the LAN.
I did a direct copy of my working WoW folder to a machine ten feet away, blew out the cache, and wtf folder and tried to connect. I can successfully log in, but not get a realm listing. Nobody outside of my network can connect either.
I shut down 4703 and fired up the old version and everything is fine. Shut that down, and restart 4703 and it’s back to only allowing my single machine to connect to it.
It’s only the one machine too. Not limited to number of connections, but to just a specific machine that can connect. Is this just weird or am I missing something obvious?

Ah .. that error message was caused by wrong dbc file, and in your case because you’re extracting data files from the 2.3.0 version not 2.2.3 version of WoW ;)
the 2.3.0 version have 14 columns in itemextendedcost.dbc while the 2.2.3 version have 13 columns

that’s depend on what is the output file produced by that tools ;)
in most case it’ll be an sql file, so all you have to do is just importing it by doing these :
1. Open command prompt
2. type CD /d X (where X is the location of the sql file)
3. type :
mysql -u root -p -D mangos < sqlfilename.sql
btw try deleting the CACHE directory in your wow installation directory first :)

I did everything and now it won;t connect to my server even after I erased set realmilst “etc” set patchlist “etc” to just set realmlist 127.0.0.1 how do i get itto connect?

Thanks reaper for a nice install, works perfectly after I got a few things set, downgrading my WoW to 2.2.3 and so on.
Now, I have one problem though which is :
When I create a new character and then enter the game, it crashes and goes into a 640×480 reso, then i need to restart and then i’m able to login the char. This happens everytime I create a new char.
Help needed, thanks!
ok anyone got a site where u can download a mod to get custom items….. or even if its just a pack that comes with custom items that u can just put into ur folder? that would be really helpful

what do you mean?? I dont understand, are you talking about a web url?? if so you need to make a redirect url… if you have a dynamic IP then you need to find a URL place like zoneedit that uses dynamic ip’s

It says that I’m missing a vmap named 001_33_39.vmdir and I think I know the reason.
When I try to extract the vmaps, my computer crashes about half-way through. I start the computer back up and it finishes the other half just fine! I suppose that it leaves out file(s), and that could be my problem.
This is the only problem I have; after this is overcome I’m confident that my server will be working perfectly. Please take some time to help me out! I would be very grateful!!!

You would change your realmlist to whatever your LAN IP Address is(after you set up LAN of course).
You’ll need Mangosd.exe and Realmd.exe running, and when you start up Realmd.exe, it should tell you if your MySQL is running right. It will say “Added realm ‘[Whatever you named your realm]‘, and you should see your IP at the top of the cmd box.

i have a mangos server up and running!
my friend who is on my LAN is trying to connect but cant… his account is created but he cant get into my realm he can click it but it just says logging into game server and never does anything…. how do i fix this
I am a total noob at sql so I cannot offer advice :/
realmd.exe and mangosd.exe should be in your mangos folder. If you click em they should start. If the boxes doesn’t stay open there is something wrong. Realmd should be started BEFORE mangosd.
I have to leave the house now so I will be unavailable for next 15 hrs or so. Hopefully someone with a better understanding of this can help you.
does this mean my SQL isnt working when i type in mysql when i go into CMD and it says error access denied for user “something something” local host?

If your realm is offline have you checked all three programs are running.

o but redex do i have to change the realmlist.wtf when i do that ….. and my ip address looks like this ###.###.#.## is that correct? but i have tried taht and that still didnt work when i did that and put it in the realmlist so i think i am missing a download

I think it would help if you opened reaper-x-mangos.bat in the reaper-eazy-mangos folder and set up your server like a LAN. Just keep pressing enter until it asks for your LAN IP. At that point, scroll up and type it in.
Should look like this–> IP Address:###.###.#.#
Btw, I’m still having a problem myself.. It says I’m missing 001_33_39, so I can’t start up mangosd.exe…

Always something is wrong when i try to install something! Now some of the Vmaps is not included in the extractor…

Is the wow file the one you have you world of warcraft game in? Or the one you have mangos in?
Just checking you have moved the extracted vmaps file into the mangos folder.
Now i get : Could not find C:/WoW/Data/vmaps/000_43_31.vmdir …..

Is likely the same problem I had.
Try using the / instead of the \ when you type out your path.
For example.
My data dir is in:
D:\mangos\reapermangos\data
But that didn’t work and I got the message you are getting.
So I typed it like this:
D:/mangos/reapermangos/data
And it worked. I hope this is clear enough.
What do i have to put in mangosd.config at DataDir? cause the mangos window says i dont have a map, but i have it..
You asked if your ip is the same as the one on http://www.whatismyip.com. It probably is unless your computer goes through a gateway.
A better way to check will be to try option “5″ when you run the reaper-x-mangos.bat That should have been the CONFIGURE YOUR WOW REALM. Sorry. I typed 4 when I should have said 5.

how do u see what u typed in for your realmlist when u go to the option # 4…… is it your ip on http://www.whatismyip.com or something else like ur lan….. i have tried both and they do not work…. i currently have patch 2.2.3 and i have the ManGOS that he gave us in the link above…. plz help
If it cannot connect it could be that you forgot to edit the realmlist.wtf file.
Open it from the wow folder (save a copy) using notepad or something like it.
Erase the contents. The type in the ip address of your server.
Set realmlist IP HERE
For example when I installed mangos and got to MANGOS CONFIG EDITOR (number 4 of the options available when running the reaper-x-mangos.bat)
I had Ip as 10.1.1.139
So:
set realmlist 10.1.1.139
If that is not it then you should check that you are running compatable editions of MaNGOS and WOW. If youhave upgraded to the latest Warcraft patch then this will be your problem.
ok never mind i got past that but now i finished everything but when i type in my username and pass and press enter it says connecting………unable to connect….. how do i fix that? that is the last thing i need to know before i can get it working :) plz help! thx
hey reaper i am making a private server as u know but it says that my vmaps and stuff arnt there so all i have to do is download them…..because u didnt put anything like that into your tutorial after #5 & #6 cuz when i do #6 it says it cant find my vmaps maps and the D** i forgot the name but can you help and tell me what to do…. i am currently downloading the vmaps i am just wondering if this is what i have to do

I am a newbie and I have wow GB version. I have managed to install and get the wow server up and running but each time I log into the server, using the username and password I create, I would then get forced to update. This only happens after I logged in. So I know its not to do with the wow launcher. Please help.

I’ve tried making a private server atleast 7 times in the past 3 years, all of them failed :(. I’ve as much as I can, yet when I try to start WoW, I get this, before it crashes:
