Actually that's depend on which one you're trying to update, if it's a database update all you have to do is just using :

mysql -u username -p -D databasename < sqlfilename

if you want to update core manually and want to stay updated all the time .. then you'll need to compile it by yourself (and if there's an update to the sql file, then you'll also need to perform core sql update too)

btw just in case you didn't know, you can see my old post (before i created my own release) if you plan on doing everything manually :)

MaNGOS realmd can not bind to port 3306

did you change the realmd port into 3306 (in realmd.conf) ? because 3306 is used by mysql, and the default realmd port is 3724

Ah yes, you can adjust creature position by editing the creature table directly, i'd suggest you to get 3rd party mysql client in order to make things easier to edit something in your database :)

Hi, first of all thanks for great job. My question is how I can modificate the database itself, modificating positions of creatures, buildings, becouse I have some bugs, and I would like to fix them, for example there is some creeps riding Chatalath city elephants, so I would like to fix it. reaper im using unidb installed it from ur guide but battlegrounds and arenas are not working and has some other bugs i would like to keep the server update thats why i wasked you how could i do it =)

I dropped all the tables and upgraded to 4703 and everything is now working. I suspect it must have been something in the imports/exports of the character data that did the damage.

Off to recreate my few user accounts and my toons.

Got another question, how do you make the creatures spawn faster? For some reason the respawn time is very long and I can't find it anywhere in the .conf files.

I've upgraded from 4629 to 4651. Ran the bat, saved my character data, installed, and restored my character data. Copied over my realmd.conf and mangos.conf and I can't connect to the world server. I get an auth on realmd. I then removed the mangos.conf ran the bat and used the generated mangos.conf and still can't connect tot he world server. Then copied the realmd.conf from the archive and tried again. Again can't connect to the world server. I saw someone else had the same problem but I didn't see a reply detailing a solution.
