Reaper Mangos 4651, ScriptDev2 151 with Project Silvermoon and Unified Database

Time for another Mangos release again :D … and this time, instead of creating one mangos release, i have decided to also release my other compiled mangos release which is using Auction House Bot and Jail Patch that is designed to those who love to try out something new in their mangos server or in other words, a more experienced mangos user :)
but let’s keep that aside shall we ? because i’m going to write that one on that post release and in this post i’m only going to give you some intruction on how to get your private wow server running using the pure / clean compiled mangos without any additional patches included
As a note this release uses Project Silvermoon Database Revision 18.5 (Not updated except for the core update) and Unified Database 0.8.1 Revision 325 (Updated) and only work with WoW 2.2.3 Client and tested with WoW 2.2.3 with TBC Expansion Pack installed, so if you’re not using TBC expansion pack, you’ll need to disable the expansion pack in mangosd.conf in order to work with your WoW 2.2.3 :)
Just like before, here are the steps :
Requirements :
1. MySQL and it’s guide on how to install it properly
2. Mangos with Database

Optional (if you don’t have these installed already) :
- .NET Runtime – For maximum compatibility with any programs in the future, i recommend you to install .NET Runtime 1.1, .NET Runtime 2.0 and .NET Runtime 3.0 (and don’t forget to read the requirements over at Microsoft website) ;)
Mangos Fresh Install :
Important Note : Below steps is designed to those who are installing mangos for the first time or upgrading from Reaper Mangos 4629, if you’re upgrading from 4602 and below you’ll need to upgrade the character table and realmd first using the menu provided on reaper eazy mangos
Not too Important Note : The screenshots used below is not updated but the installation process is still the same of course :) and oh one more thing, i assume that you’ve extracted the self extracting archive ;)
1. Extract the DBC Files, Maps, and VMaps from your world of warcraft client
2. Run the reaper-x-mangos.bat inside the reaper-eazy-mangos directory / folder, and you’ll be see something like this, and then all you have to do is just write the full path to your mysql installation directory (where mysql.exe and mysqldump.exe can be found) ;)
3. Now you just need to choose option number 1 to install the database as shown on below image, and when prompted for your mysql root password, don’t forget to write the correct password … and then when prompted to choose the database, feel free to choose the Project Silvermoon database or Unified Database so you can compare it :)
4. After finished with the database installation, now you need to choose option number 4 (required or else you’ll see the mangosd.exe close immediately when you run it) to adjust the datadir and adjust the exp rate, and drop rate :)
5. Now after finished with all the above process, you’ll need to go inside your World of Warcraft installation directory (for example C:\Program Files\World of Warcraft) and then open the realmlist.wtf using notepad and …
replace :
set realmlist us.logon.worldofwarcraft.com
set patchlist us.version.worldofwarcraft.com
with :
set realmlist 127.0.0.1
save it and close realmlist.wtf file
6. Now you just need to run mangosd.exe and realmd.exe from your mangos directory and then the next step would be creating username of course :D by typing create username password inside the mangosd window as shown on below image as an example … followed by typing setbc username 1 … so you can choose Blood Elv and Draenei
lastly you just need to type setgm username 3 so you’ll have the GM Power, and … done !!! congrats … now all you have to do is just login using the username you’ve created before ;)
Upgrading from 4629 Release / switching between silvermoon database and unified database :
1. Choose to backup your character first
2. Choose to install the new database
3. Choose the restore option to restore your character and … done :D
Note : Since i don’t really know how many people are still using my old release :( , i assume that most people already upgraded into my previous 4629 release

I dropped all the tables and upgraded to 4703 and everything is now working. I suspect it must have been something in the imports/exports of the character data that did the damage.
Off to recreate my few user accounts and my toons.

Got another question, how do you make the creatures spawn faster? For some reason the respawn time is very long and I can’t find it anywhere in the .conf files.

I’ve upgraded from 4629 to 4651. Ran the bat, saved my character data, installed, and restored my character data. Copied over my realmd.conf and mangos.conf and I can’t connect to the world server. I get an auth on realmd. I then removed the mangos.conf ran the bat and used the generated mangos.conf and still can’t connect tot he world server. Then copied the realmd.conf from the archive and tried again. Again can’t connect to the world server. I saw someone else had the same problem but I didn’t see a reply detailing a solution.
First of all i’m really sorry for late reply, because there has been many thunderstorm here in my area where i live, and im also preparing the next update (though it has been released now) :)

You can change it or disable it, though you’ll need to alter your host file and set up your own webserver first in order to do that :)

Actually there’s a manual way of doing that other than editing your database directly if you’re using this version (not my custom version) :)

Ah if you just want to update minor bugs and still using the same core revision, you can just get the update file directly from udbforums.org :)
but if the core supported is changed, you’ll need to also execute each core update as well or else you’ll get error message from the mangosd
btw to look for updated sql core file you take a look inside the OriginalSQL directory

I sawn the David T’s message explaining the command to do.
But i don’t arrive to success
I tried .character_reputation set standing=933, flags=17 where faction=The Consortium but they said me “there is no such command”
.set character_reputation seems to works but i don’t now what to add after.
Can someone help me please especially David T or of course others if they khnow how to do.

Hi there this guide was great thanks reaper, i just have 1 problem i dont know how to update the mangos db 4651 in the mangos guide on how to install mangos with unified db and silvermoon it only explains how to install it but i want to create a internet server and i will need to fix him from time to time and update also and i only know how to install and some GM commands.
when u have the time could u post something on how to upgrade sql fixes in mangos?

So, I’ve used your guides for a while and have never had a problem I couldn’t finx until now. Now, I had been using mangos 4577 just fine. I downloaded 4651 yesterday to update, did all the stuff I’ve used to normally update and I’m getting errors with both realmd and mangos now =/
Realmd says: “SQL: SELECT `id`, `name`,`address`,`port`,`icon`,`color`,`timezone`,`allowedSecurityLevel`,`population` FROM `realmlist` WHERE `color` != ‘3′ ORDER BY `name` query ERROR: Unknown column ‘allowedSecurityLevel’ in ‘field list’
No valid realms specified.
The mangos is running even more errors throughout, but near the bottom it keeps giving the same 2
1- SQL ERROR: Unknown column ‘population’ in ‘field list’
2- query ERROR: Unknown column ‘locale’ in ‘field list’
Got any suggestions towards fixing it? I’ve tried fulling deleting mangos/realmd and redownloading it and running through the process as if I’d just downloaded it, but I keep getting the same errors.
HELP i want to know where do i execute the queiry to make items i use WoW-V item maker… what table and data base?? PLEASE HELP!!!
hey reaper, just thought id share my findings.
I find this php website tool called MiniManager, and it’s working great. It lets me export SQL scrips of vendors (to save them for updates), lets me edit boss loot easily, it lets me edit all stats of anthing on my server, it lets me check tickets from players, it has like an “armory” feature for my server. Very nice tool helped me with a lot of my problems. and set it up in maybe a minute? lol
Also im having this nasty problem with defense rating on my server. I posted on the Mangos forums.

Its the only REAL problem that exisits on my server at the moment.
Whenever i try to enable the expansion on my server it stops running any suggestions?
also, when i run realmd.exe, it says: “MaNGOS realmd can not bind to port 3306″

Yes, i did put my set realmlist to 127.0.0.1 and i even paused my firewall and ran wow and it still didn’t work

Well this is going to sound so stupid, It might be antrix that is causing it cause thats what I was using before, anyway Im getting the message “Could not connect to mysql database at 127.0.0.1 access denied for user ‘mangos ‘@’ localhost’ ”

S’ok had to edit the table in the realmd dbase, all working now, just need to learn the right commands… hehe

btw to answer your question, actually that’s depend on whether there’s an update or not to the database itself (UDB or PSDB) and the mangos core database structure itself actually ;)
for example if there’s a mangos core update (db structure) going on, and you just simply replace the old exe with the new exe
there’s a high chance you’ll see this error message at mangosd prompt and mangosd stop working :
error in xxxxxxx probably the sql file was updated

yes, although it’s not going to be an easy task :)
all you have to do is just backup each new vendor you’ve created by doing this :
btw in this example i’m going to show you on how to export the Tier 6 Vendor from Silvermoon database ;)
1. Lookup it’s entry number for your custom vendor in the following tables :
creature
creature_template
npc_vendor
(in this example the tier 6 vendor use 100007 as it’s entry and GUID)
2. Now when you know your vendor GUID all you have to do is just execute this command :
mysqldump -u username -p -t "–where=entry='100007'" mangos creature_template npc_vendor > export1.sql
mysqldump -u username -p -t "–where=guid='100007'" mangos creature > export2.sql
3. All you have to do next is just to keep that exported data somewhere so whenever there’s new full database update going on, you can always restore your precious custom data ;)

as for custom items, well actually i’m still confused on how to write it well so everyone can understand what i’m trying to say actually lol but .. if you already know on how to use sql client, i can always give you some direction directly :)

Are you using 127.0.0.1 as your realm address ? i’d suggest you to use that address first and also try disabling firewall first just to make sure that nothing blocked access to your own server

I’m sure that’s because the new mangos use different database structure :) … if you’re editing the sql database directly i’m sure you won’t have that problem, but if you’re using 3rd party tool .. then the only thing you can do is just wait for that tool creator to update his program :)

Have followed all the instructions, and I for some reason cant login to the realm, extracted all of the data, ran your install script for mangos build 4651 (fresh install), it did everything, changed realmlist.wtf to point to mangos server, ran mangosd and realmd, I can login wow, but it wont connect to the reaper-x game server, realmd window tells me that my account has been auth’ed.
The only thing I can think of its the GB version of the game and not US, any ideas if thats the case?.

ok i have this problem i started everythign -extracted the map vmaps and dbc but when i run mangosd.exe it loads till it gets to the spells and it says

I start my Mangosd.exe and it gets a error saying “Could not find vmap file 530_12_24.vmdir. I have ran it twice all the way through but I also use the windows search and it can’t find it.

Are you sure that you’re running the correct executable ? because there’s also file using the same name mangosd.conf and realmd.conf (by default windows isn’t going to show you the file extension unless you change it in your Folder Views option) :)

could you type this command from the command prompt :
1. Open command prompt
2. type :
- cd C:\
- netstat /an > netstat.txt
and then send me the netstat.txt to my email address (look at the about page at the top of this website)
also make sure that mysql service already running before typing the above command :)

Ok I finally got it working. I redid some of this guide and it now works. Looks like somewhere along the path I screwed up somewhere. Thanks for the awesome guide.
I forgot to mention, I didn’t use my WoW password I made a totally new user name and password, in fact I did it 3 times and still to no avail.

I,m going to update my faq soon, and try to put as many workarounds in it as possible because at the moment I can’t help you anymore (out of options). You can try to do the install of WoW + MySQL and ReaperMangos again precisely following the guide, and btw read the faq first so you have some insight of what your exactly doing.
I’m having the same problem as superman.
I set the realm to 127… and I created a different username and password, set it to gm and BC but when I go to log into the game it says the password or username is incorrect. In case your wondering, yes I did make sure I typed in the right username & password. Realmd says:
[AuthChallenege] acount xxxxxx is using ‘en’ locale (0)
Any idea what that means?
and WTF does

ok i fixed the other problems but there is still one thing missing. when i start the mangos it starts to load the spells but the spell threat table is missing. from the presious post here i understand that its located in the dbc folder and the folder must contain 176 files but i have 176 files and still cant get it into work pls help
@omfgder and others with “connection” issues:
If you are running Vista, and if you are sure that you’re MYSQL database is up and running (ie: you can log into it via the command line, etc…) then you need to right click the “mangosd.exe” and the “realmd.exe” files and choose to run them in Windows XP – SP 2 compability mode. It did it for me, works great.
