Reaper Mangos 4651, ScriptDev2 151 with Project Silvermoon and Unified Database

Time for another Mangos release again :D … and this time, instead of creating one mangos release, i have decided to also release my other compiled mangos release which is using Auction House Bot and Jail Patch that is designed to those who love to try out something new in their mangos server or in other words, a more experienced mangos user :)
but let’s keep that aside shall we ? because i’m going to write that one on that post release and in this post i’m only going to give you some intruction on how to get your private wow server running using the pure / clean compiled mangos without any additional patches included
As a note this release uses Project Silvermoon Database Revision 18.5 (Not updated except for the core update) and Unified Database 0.8.1 Revision 325 (Updated) and only work with WoW 2.2.3 Client and tested with WoW 2.2.3 with TBC Expansion Pack installed, so if you’re not using TBC expansion pack, you’ll need to disable the expansion pack in mangosd.conf in order to work with your WoW 2.2.3 :)
Just like before, here are the steps :
Requirements :
1. MySQL and it’s guide on how to install it properly
2. Mangos with Database

Optional (if you don’t have these installed already) :
- .NET Runtime – For maximum compatibility with any programs in the future, i recommend you to install .NET Runtime 1.1, .NET Runtime 2.0 and .NET Runtime 3.0 (and don’t forget to read the requirements over at Microsoft website) ;)
Mangos Fresh Install :
Important Note : Below steps is designed to those who are installing mangos for the first time or upgrading from Reaper Mangos 4629, if you’re upgrading from 4602 and below you’ll need to upgrade the character table and realmd first using the menu provided on reaper eazy mangos
Not too Important Note : The screenshots used below is not updated but the installation process is still the same of course :) and oh one more thing, i assume that you’ve extracted the self extracting archive ;)
1. Extract the DBC Files, Maps, and VMaps from your world of warcraft client
2. Run the reaper-x-mangos.bat inside the reaper-eazy-mangos directory / folder, and you’ll be see something like this, and then all you have to do is just write the full path to your mysql installation directory (where mysql.exe and mysqldump.exe can be found) ;)
3. Now you just need to choose option number 1 to install the database as shown on below image, and when prompted for your mysql root password, don’t forget to write the correct password … and then when prompted to choose the database, feel free to choose the Project Silvermoon database or Unified Database so you can compare it :)
4. After finished with the database installation, now you need to choose option number 4 (required or else you’ll see the mangosd.exe close immediately when you run it) to adjust the datadir and adjust the exp rate, and drop rate :)
5. Now after finished with all the above process, you’ll need to go inside your World of Warcraft installation directory (for example C:\Program Files\World of Warcraft) and then open the realmlist.wtf using notepad and …
replace :
set realmlist us.logon.worldofwarcraft.com
set patchlist us.version.worldofwarcraft.com
with :
set realmlist 127.0.0.1
save it and close realmlist.wtf file
6. Now you just need to run mangosd.exe and realmd.exe from your mangos directory and then the next step would be creating username of course :D by typing create username password inside the mangosd window as shown on below image as an example … followed by typing setbc username 1 … so you can choose Blood Elv and Draenei
lastly you just need to type setgm username 3 so you’ll have the GM Power, and … done !!! congrats … now all you have to do is just login using the username you’ve created before ;)
Upgrading from 4629 Release / switching between silvermoon database and unified database :
1. Choose to backup your character first
2. Choose to install the new database
3. Choose the restore option to restore your character and … done :D
Note : Since i don’t really know how many people are still using my old release :( , i assume that most people already upgraded into my previous 4629 release

I’m pretty sure I posted before but I can’t find it, anyways I am having issues with the mangosd file it says it can’t find a certain vmap file is missing, and that the .map files are not correct. I have 12 vmap files, BC is installed and Expansion is set to 1. I extracted all the map files and have 3492 .map files. Someone plz help me out, I really wanna get the server started so my friends can play on it. I’ve been working on it for a week now.

for realmd and something thats almost the same for mangosd its just that it dont say realmd canot conect but it says mangosd cant conect PLZ PLZ HELP!

HEY REAPER i did the character backup and then started to think before i update this…
what i did was take all the vnedores from gm island and place them in SW and ORG now…when i do this update i know characters will be saved…BUT will all my hard work in placing and getting vendors ready for players be gone? I also had to do a nightbane fix so people could target him will that be messed up again too? if anyone else knows please respong i’d like to do the update today if i hear it’ll be fine.
one more thing i want to ask…i’m using 4629 SM 18.5 and on the last patch i have this serious problem with DEFENSE DEF rating is not converting to pts correctly at 70. Ex: a warrior in D3 and lvl 60 items should barely hit 490-505 and thats normal on retail but on my server a warrior with the same gear has 540 and throw some kara loots on this warrior and he has 600 def. NOT GOOD. it ruinds raiding cuz we only need 1 healerr and he can go afk half the fight cuz our tanks arent getting hit hard enough. If i could fix this. and an attumen and maiden bug. my server would be great)

Ah actually you can use any id you want :) but to be safe, i’d suggest you put high ID number for example i always use value above 89000

I was thinking and my preveous post is so confusing about what i wish to know.
Originaly my question is: how can i “mark” items
witch no in use yet. where is defined witch item model has witch displayid?
example: if someone making a weapon he/she needs to add displayid so that weapon will look like that item witch originaly has that displayid.
hammer_2h_standard_e_01.m2 and its display id is: 29698 //this is Sulfuras, Hand of Ragnaros//
then if i make weapon with this ID that will look like 2h ragnaros hammer.
But i want to make weapon witch has its model in mpq file implemented but its not in use yet.. Where can i add specific id’s and weapon models?

Thanks Muskar – I checked your mention of level 88 bug and it is as you say. No XP gained unless by GMcommands levelup.
I seem to remember playing on a server which had solved this problem so I will try and find out which it was.

I’m using UDB to and I checked my server.log and it says that the event has started but nothing happends in the game. I have checked the Gurubashi Arena but it’s empty. And what I know It should be peoples there and Questgivers. Also portals from Orgrimmar and Stormwind but they arnt there. Please help!

I just have tested the new release with unified database and i need to say that, realy good (till now i was allways plaing with silvermoon) And i wish to help for thoose ppl who can’t choose, well i vote for unified one becouse silvermoon one has more bugs. in unified one there are better and improved loot tables and better bosses. example: when you playing in black temple if you set loot for 10 for both in unified you get more and diferent items then the silvermoon one and more…
i played blacktemple many times alone and i can see the unified is detailed then silvermoon.. both have bugs offcourse but i think unified is clooser to get finished.
May i have a question too??
I allways wonedring on that, there are thousands of items in wow but very few is used only.. if you check this with wow reader.. if you just look items list.. you can find items what never were in real game or waiting to get implemented.. I wish to know how these displayID’s and item templates are connected?

Well, i tried to get into the Mangoes Comand promt and well it says it cant find the server IP address even though i changed it to set realmlist 127.0.0.1 Any ideas?

Noah is it okay with you if i’m connecting to your pc via remote assistance (if you allow me to connect via remote assistance, just send me the invitation) ? because i’m interested on testing it by myself (since this is the first time i saw someone having problem after upgrade) :)
it does show the realm but it gets to “logging into game server” than it doesent get past that. I also have re-checked were the server it pointing too.
try set the realmlist address (mysql) into 127.0.0.1 and then change the realmlist.wtf (wow client) into 127.0.0.1 for testing purpose and see if it works or not :)

could you tell me did you get any error message when starting mangos ? (look at the server.log)

Ah probably that’s because you forgot to change the realmlist into using your public address :)
try running reaper-x-mangos.bat and choose option 5 to set your realmlist address ;)

You’ll need to set up registration page for them, and to do that you’ll need to install apache and get a premade registration page for your mangos
as for nether drake and phoenix, actually you can only use that item in Outlands area only (because of built-in client / wow protection) :)
though there’s a glitch that you can use to get nether drake to be used on silvermoon area by doing these (gm only) :
1. Mount nether drake in outlands area
2. type .tele silvermoon
3. you get nether drake still mounted at silvermoon
actually you can always reproduce that as long as there’s no loading screen appeared when you’re teleporting
another good things to use (if you’re using UDB) (dual mount) :
1. add swift brewfest ram item and use it (mount it)
2. mount another mountable type items (such as fiery warhorse)
3. and you’ll get dual mount lol

Before I upgraded to this version, my server was working fine online, than when I installed this update all of a sudden i can’t connect. I double checked every step and I still hav no idea wats goin on. Any ideas?

As Reaper-X just pointed out, drop rates over 10 has a high chance of making most quest drops a higher chance than 100%, which may bug the drop tables and make them unlikely to drop.

It wasn’t only an example, the xp bar disappears and bugs at level 88 and for some reason you can only level higher by commands.

Yeah, I hope the some DB creators will make some scripts for instances to make the work as they should, because they seem to always ignore that part – focusing on adding new items from te newest patches and getting those to work.

Now that’s a tricky one.
Here’s some things it could be.
1. If the DataBase doesn’t include those items, then it is impossible to get them.
You can check this by going to the mangosd.exe after it loaded all the accessories and the list with commands to type comes up.
Type setgm YOUR-ACCOUNT-NAME 3 (unless you adjusted GM command rights, then type ‘6′).
Then log into the server via WoW.exe (if you were already logged in, relog) and type following:
.lookupitem THE-QUEST-ITEM-YOU-NEEDED and check if its there. Make sure you spell it right. If it isn’t there, you have to wait for another MaNGOS update until it gets added. If it is, look below at the ‘2.’ part.
2. If your DataBase includes the item but wont drop, you might need to adjust the drop tables manually.
I do not know excactly how to do this, but I know that you can learn to adjust the codes on their website as some people I know from another private server did. They managed to change loot tables from certain mobs and fix a ton of other bugs manually.

If you previously use the 4629 release, there’s no changes made to mangosd.conf actually so you can copy the mangosd.conf and realmd.conf from your 4629 directory but … for the next release (just a side note before releasing the new revision)
there are significant changes, from the character table moved into new database, and also new mangosd.conf .. but that’s for the next release :)

as a side note, if you set the drop rate above 10, there’s a high chance you’ll not receive the quest item :)

actually almost everything i need is working with this release (just 4 lan parties with friends..)
but iam still having problem with quest drops, there are none…. drop rate is working(with normal items)but when u need the quest item it wont drop… i tryied both database and still no q drop… how can i fix that?
Ok I fixed my problem. All I had to do was open up
reaper-x-mangos.bat in notepad and change the mysql to mysql.exe.
after I put in my password for mysql its says
” ‘mysql’ is not recognized as an internal or external command” Is this a bad thing or is it normal?

thanks for all the work you’ve done, helped me allot now i cant play retail since I’m at University, just patching up to 2.2.3 and going to try this out been running a classic server for a bit and enjoyed it.
I’ve spent the last 6 months raiding SSC and the EYE with my guild on DMF so if anyone can let me know of ways to get raids/instances as close to retail as possible that would be much appreciated, going to annoy my uni and run the server through he halls lan since they block internet ports :)
OMFG THIS IS SOOO ANOYING some1 PLZ TELL ME HOW TO FIX IT PLZ everytime i try to run stupid mangosd and realmd it says cannot conect to (the ip idress) and then some crap and its so ANOYING ive tried it 3 times on all 3 last versions and it always hapens and evrytime i go to a website and ask a question the guy who answers stops answering >=( so plz ne1 tell me what to do
