Mangos 4629, ScriptDev2 150 with Silvermoon 18.5 and UDB 0.8 323 support 2.2.3

Another Mangos release time, and this time i choose to include two database again (Unified Database 0.8.0 Changesets 323 and Project Silvermoon 18.5) unlike my previous Mangos 4602 release so you can choose which database you like best :)
Other than that, in this new release it’ll only support WoW 2.2.3 Client only because Mangos has officially support the 2.2.3 client (which mean there won’t be any er. So to those who are still using the old WoW 2.1.3 client, you’ll need to upgrade your WoW client first into patch 2.2.3 :)
As an important note, if you want to upgrade safely from any previous release (especially from my old 4488, 4505, 4524 release, etc). Make sure to copy the backup file (backup-db.sql and backup-realmd.sql) from the reaper-eazy-mangos directory into somewhere else first, so if anything goes wrong at the upgrade process you can still restore it (although i’ve done everything possible to make sure you don’t lose your character data)
And here are on how to use it :
Requirements :
1. MySQL and it’s install guide
Update : Mangos 4651 has been released … and i’d suggest you to grab the new version instead ;)
2. Reaper Mangos 4629 with the Database (15012 KB) :

Fresh Installation :
1. Extract the self extracting archive somewhere (or you can also choose to extract to current directory) and don’t worry it’ll automatically create ReaperMangos4629 folder for you :)
2. And then you’ll need to extract Maps, VMaps, and DBC files from your WoW 2.2.3
3. Run the reaper-x-mangos.bat inside the reaper-eazy-mangos directory / folder, and you’ll be greeted with this screen, and all you have to do is just write the full path to your mysql installation directory (or where mysql.exe and mysqldump.exe can be found) ;)
4. After finished writing the full path to your mysql installation directory, now you just need to choose option #1 to install the database for you and when prompted for your root password, you just need to write your mysql root password (and no it’s not your mysql.com account password) ;)
5. Now you’ll need to choose option number 99 as shown on below image
6. After finished with the above process, now you just need to choose option #4, and adjust each option accordingly (as a side note, the most important thing is your datadir location)
7. Now you need to go into your World of Warcraft Installation directory and open the realmlist.wtf file using notepad and then change these lines :
set realmlist us.logon.worldofwarcraft.com
set patchlist us.version.worldofwarcraft.com
into :
set realmlist 127.0.0.1
8. The first thing you should do of course run the mangosd.exe and realmd.exe and create a new account for you, and this can be done by typing create username password in the mangosd window as shown on below image
But a normal account can be boring of course, so we need to configure our username to be a GM, and this can be done by simply typing setgm username 3 (the highest level of course, so you can do anything you want in your server) :P … and done :)
as a side note, if you can’t choose Blood Elves or Draenei, then you just need to type setbc username 1 at the mangosd window ;)

Upgrading from 4602 Release :
1. Run the reaper-x-mangos.bat, and then go with option #99 and wait until finished
2. Then choose to backup your database
3. After finished with the backup process now you just need to choose the first option to install the database
4. Now you just need to choose the restore option
5. For the last step you just need to continue with configuring datadir (or you can copy the previous mangosd.conf if you’re upgrading from 4577++ and already have the DBC files extracted from WoW 2.2.3) :)
Upgrading from 4577 Release :
1. Run the reaper-x-mangos.bat, and then go with option #98 and wait until finished
2. Then choose to backup your database
3. After finished with the backup process now you just need to choose the first option to install the database
4. Now you just need to choose the restore option
5. After finished restoring your data, now you just need to choose option #99
6. For the last step you just need to continue with configuring datadir (If you’re using ReaperMangos4577 previously, or you can just simply copy the previous mangosd.conf and realmd.conf) :)

as for your question, well actually you can always import the game weather from silvermoon db ;)
here’s an example of the query used :

you can choose to execute that query directly on your mysql client application or save it as sql file and then import it using command :
mysql -umangos -pmangos -D mangos < your_sql_filename.sql

No, you don’t need to worry about that :) .. but unfortunately, loading script library isn’t going to help you to fix that problem :(
anyone know what you should set the drop rate to to guarentee a raid boss will drop everything in its loot table?

i would like to know what happens if i was to load script library will player loose there stuff i hate to do that if it doe’s i got 85 kids playing now but i am seeing alot of the guards stand in the air could some one help me pleasee cause if loading script library will help i do it if not i dont want to mess this up ty again

Please allow me to sum up my findings about the weather system issue:
Apparently weather does not work with this version of the UDB.
It does work with SDB, but that database is sadly unusable for my right now because it is missing the entire hunter pet information (tab, happiness indicator), plus other issues with missing spells (mainly for crafts, I think).
UDB has its issues too, naturally, but if you play on a GM account you can work around them (such as grant yourself a quest item that simply cannot be picked up).
Anyway, maybe this will help others to choose the right database for their needs from this pack. :)

ah lol actually i can use them both without problem (the forward slash or back slash “\” or “/”) :)

though some people having problem can only use one of them for example, previously someone says that “/” back slash is not working for him, while the forward slash “\” works fine ;)
anyway, the first thing to do is make sure that if you can locate the actual filename by using windows search function, make sure to test the datadir to use forward slash and backslash :)
btw: reaper, you got to tell people that.. its a big problem

btw i remove that dual database in 4602 release because at that time silvermoon website was down :(

Try waiting for the vmaps extraction process to complete (i’d suggest you to start over the vmaps extraction process from scratch again)
by deleting Vmaps directory and Buildings directory :)

Unfortunately since i never tried that one (or any wow pack that include mysql in their distribution, because i’m also using mysql for many other things) i can’t tell you on how to configure it :(

It works extremely fine for me.
Only a few bugs – Seer Udalo missing Seer Olum missplace ….. other things work fine.
bamabam you need to change your realmlist to that port like:
set realmlist 127.0.0.1:6064
and dont forget to make the sql realmd table set to the right ip and port

I don’t understand, in the mangosd.exe I create my account and the I write setgm name 3, but when I log in the account it is normal. When I create a cheraster it is normal (it’s level 1 and i can’t add items on him) please someone help me I want max lvl and powerful items!!! How can I fix that?

i have problems with mangos4602, if talk to a city guard (ask for information) the server crash. befor de update 4629 the problem is solved, but de relm server dont work.
Now i use mangos4629 with relmd4602…

my pc is:
Athlon62 x2 4000+ in a nforce/asus motherboard
2gb ram / 240gb HD
2X ATI X1550 – 512mb PCI-E crossfire
runing Windows Vista 32bit
the server is only for lan games (8 PCs)…

But I have a little question i created my acc and then set it as a gm but when I log in the acc it like a normal one I don’t see the AddOns button. Cant someone tell me where can I edin my charester (setting him powerful items)? Please answer that. And again THANAK YOU REAPER!
ok…so i went in the realmd.config file edited the port from 3724 to 6064 then i went into my router and forwarded that port. then i went to a s port scanner site and it said it was open i also noticed a small connection in my realm.exe config window(from the online port scanner) so i thought that was a good sign i logged onto my neighbors WLAN again for the test but still no prevail. This solution confuses me cuz i was thinking when people log in they are sending the request for port 3724 so wouldnt it only work if i have that open on my router?
/cry i see you didnt respond maybe im guessing it because you told me in the post 2 above if its stealthed to go in the realmd.config and try changing the port number. so by that do you mean open the file in notepad? and looking in the wall of text for something that says 3724 and just type any other 4 numbers there? then forward my router to that? i wasnt sure if there was another way i was supposed to edit that file. AND i didnt know what port i should change it to…does it mater? can i just pick any random 4 numbers? if anyone else on here knows id appreceate it =D

my computer will not open the map extractor, so i can’t proceed. any idea’s whats happening? (if you double click on the map extractor, or open it, the box just flashes up then goes)

Again, and again u management to create a new and excellent build, which works FIRST-TIME!!,if you only follow your excellent guide.
Just a few questions:
When ever i use the PSDB i can see the mangosd retrieves many errors. Unfornunate theres a limit for how far upward i can scroll in the list, so i can get an overview of the entire process.
1.) Can i somehow save the entire startup process to a file or to a print to identify which errors i recieve?
2.) How can i edit an item eg. Meat to have better stats? – i have installed Toad, and open the realmd database.. i’m a noob so i have no idear where / how to look.

do you mean the realmd loop ? that problem usually appear because you didn’t use the same address listed in realmlist table (in mysql) :)
for example, if you put yourdnsname.com as the realmlist address, then you’ll need to tell your users to use that address too
or another example if you want to create / simulate a realmd loop (for lan that is also apply to internet) :
1. Set the realmlist ip address into 127.0.0.1
2. try accessing your server from lan by changing the realmlist.wtf file into your server lan ip address
3. you’ll get in realmd loop :)
as for changing port, you can open the mangosd.conf (default 8085) and realmd.conf (default 3724)
but as a note, if you change the world port (the port used by mangosd.exe) then you’ll also need to change the world port in your realmlist table in mysql :)

Actually if it’s for me i use my linux box to patch something though my release is just a clean compile because i want to make sure it’s easy to configure without any dependant to specific patch, or you can also do it by manually applying that patch to each file

I am having a problem where people can log into my server, but the realm selection screen keeps poping up, before you can even pick a charecter.
I have done everything exactly as you have explained, but for some unknow reason I have this problem. I have opened ports 8085, 3724, 1400, 1401 and 7000 all UDP and TCP, on both the server and the user computer. Also is their away you can choose which ports mangos uses?

do you have “.gm on” when you use blizzard on the mobs? mobs wont become aggro’ed if it is, and therefore whenever they take damage, they will automaticly revert back to full health

First of all, I would like to thank for the great work so far, really helps and makes a rather complicated process easy lol. Secondly, I would like to know whether it would be possible to provide a guide on how to establish a Ascent database using the NCDB Milestone database. I did some some research and aparently it is the best. Just interested lol.

ad.exe and extract-map.bat should be in your Mangos/Tools directory, if you downloaded Reaper-X’s package from the link at the beginning of the article (scroll up).
Will someone help me!?! When I run the mangosd.exe it stops to : Could not find map file 0004331 :
And I can’t extract them again because I can’t find the extract-map.exe ! Please someone put a link so that I can download it! I want to play, but I can’t! I need that file!
I just upgraded from 4602 to 4629 from the instructions in this article (above). As I was double checking myself, I saw that the reaper-x-mangos.bat stated this:
If you’re upgrading from 4602 here’s what you should do :
” choose backup -> install -> restore -> special [ 99 ] -> backup ”
This is a different than what is stated in this article. Which is the correct action? Or do they both give me the same result?
If mobs don’t aggro you might have your GM status on, turn it off by typing .gm off.
Hi, i have followed your guide and after 3 installation attempts i get the same results i can’t figure out where i’m going wrong no errors what so ever through the whole process i execute wow.exe try to login with the account i created, it trys to connect for about 2 seconds then i get a message saying unable to connect, any help would be great about now.

Fixed it, I’m just dumb and was linking the data file to C:\wow\data instead of C:\Program Files\wow\data

Mage spell Blizzard – the animation indicates its working but Mobs take no damage and dont even aggro!
On another note: Are there any scripts for the instances?
