Mangos 4629, ScriptDev2 150 with Silvermoon 18.5 and UDB 0.8 323 support 2.2.3

Another Mangos release time, and this time i choose to include two database again (Unified Database 0.8.0 Changesets 323 and Project Silvermoon 18.5) unlike my previous Mangos 4602 release so you can choose which database you like best :)
Other than that, in this new release it’ll only support WoW 2.2.3 Client only because Mangos has officially support the 2.2.3 client (which mean there won’t be any er. So to those who are still using the old WoW 2.1.3 client, you’ll need to upgrade your WoW client first into patch 2.2.3 :)
As an important note, if you want to upgrade safely from any previous release (especially from my old 4488, 4505, 4524 release, etc). Make sure to copy the backup file (backup-db.sql and backup-realmd.sql) from the reaper-eazy-mangos directory into somewhere else first, so if anything goes wrong at the upgrade process you can still restore it (although i’ve done everything possible to make sure you don’t lose your character data)
And here are on how to use it :
Requirements :
1. MySQL and it’s install guide
Update : Mangos 4651 has been released … and i’d suggest you to grab the new version instead ;)
2. Reaper Mangos 4629 with the Database (15012 KB) :

Fresh Installation :
1. Extract the self extracting archive somewhere (or you can also choose to extract to current directory) and don’t worry it’ll automatically create ReaperMangos4629 folder for you :)
2. And then you’ll need to extract Maps, VMaps, and DBC files from your WoW 2.2.3
3. Run the reaper-x-mangos.bat inside the reaper-eazy-mangos directory / folder, and you’ll be greeted with this screen, and all you have to do is just write the full path to your mysql installation directory (or where mysql.exe and mysqldump.exe can be found) ;)
4. After finished writing the full path to your mysql installation directory, now you just need to choose option #1 to install the database for you and when prompted for your root password, you just need to write your mysql root password (and no it’s not your mysql.com account password) ;)
5. Now you’ll need to choose option number 99 as shown on below image
6. After finished with the above process, now you just need to choose option #4, and adjust each option accordingly (as a side note, the most important thing is your datadir location)
7. Now you need to go into your World of Warcraft Installation directory and open the realmlist.wtf file using notepad and then change these lines :
set realmlist us.logon.worldofwarcraft.com
set patchlist us.version.worldofwarcraft.com
into :
set realmlist 127.0.0.1
8. The first thing you should do of course run the mangosd.exe and realmd.exe and create a new account for you, and this can be done by typing create username password in the mangosd window as shown on below image
But a normal account can be boring of course, so we need to configure our username to be a GM, and this can be done by simply typing setgm username 3 (the highest level of course, so you can do anything you want in your server) :P … and done :)
as a side note, if you can’t choose Blood Elves or Draenei, then you just need to type setbc username 1 at the mangosd window ;)

Upgrading from 4602 Release :
1. Run the reaper-x-mangos.bat, and then go with option #99 and wait until finished
2. Then choose to backup your database
3. After finished with the backup process now you just need to choose the first option to install the database
4. Now you just need to choose the restore option
5. For the last step you just need to continue with configuring datadir (or you can copy the previous mangosd.conf if you’re upgrading from 4577++ and already have the DBC files extracted from WoW 2.2.3) :)
Upgrading from 4577 Release :
1. Run the reaper-x-mangos.bat, and then go with option #98 and wait until finished
2. Then choose to backup your database
3. After finished with the backup process now you just need to choose the first option to install the database
4. Now you just need to choose the restore option
5. After finished restoring your data, now you just need to choose option #99
6. For the last step you just need to continue with configuring datadir (If you’re using ReaperMangos4577 previously, or you can just simply copy the previous mangosd.conf and realmd.conf) :)

I am having the same problem as Jason. Everything is working great in the 4629 build except for things that require a script interaction like talking to guards, mobs in MC and BWL that require talking to which triggers a script fight scene. When you talk to these NPC/Mobs, it crashes the Mangos server. Is there a fix or is this being addressed?

Sigh im so frustraited with this ive been putting so much time into trying to figure this out. ok so lemme tell you my trials…
first test- i unplugged the router and put i direct connect from my Emachine to the modem. i noticed my IP from whatismyip.com was dif for this thread ill say it was 68.xxx.xxx.A anyway then i got on my laptop, connected to my neighbors WLAN =D and then set my realmlist.wtf to the above IP and then logged on flawlessly no problem.
Second test- now i hooked my router back up and fyi i have my Emachine plugged into the router, My Macbook and my moms HP upstairs. So when its all hooked up to the router and i go to whatismyip.com on any of these computers they all share a 68.xxx.xxx.B IP address. (its not what it was when the Emachine was directly plugged in fyi) anyway is that normal that they all share the same ip if they are plugged in the router? so my emachines router ip is 192.168.1.106 SO when im setting up the forwarded ports i set them all to forward it to 106

i did what you said and went to this “shields up site” and check 3724 port and it said it was the blizzard battle.net port anyway..it said its status was “stealth” i went to this site from my Emachine (thats the computer im trying to make the server)

Hi not sure if some one has had this problem and gotten it fixed but here it goes all is set up i have used much earlyer versions and work but now when i go to log in i get to connected and booted instantly what do i do

wow, you seem needy.. anyway uninstall and reinstall WoW TBC 2.2.3 then make sure you have 3 gigabites free on your computer, then do what the guide says

hey reaper ive been asking for ur help for a week now and ur refusing to help me, can u pls answer my questions.. first off, the ad.exe isnt working at all….and neither is the extracty maps thing and i did everyhtin u sid, but i still am getting an empty map folder, i leave u with that one for now when u answe that then ill ask u sumthing else

Ok last stupid comment. I promise. I now understand realmd. I just cant connect to my serner now. Pauses and then says unable to connect and I have it set up for my LAN party only. But it also didnt work for the single IP you had before. So any tips?
Please help me I need to know how to make a portal to Gurubashi Arena (I think it spells so) or how to make portals.
Ok found one problem. Sorry if I am posting too much. Realmd when I push it so far is going on one hour. Do I exit after I push it or do I wait for something in particular. I did mangose first should i do a different order next time?

Very nice guide and so far it all worked great but when I go to use mangosed. It says it cannot connect to world database 127.0.0.1. So far that is my only problem and I followed your guide directly to working this program. I miss a step?

After I installed and updated to this repack I still have the problem of talking to city guards and certain mobs, and mangosd crashing. Any way to fix or change scripts. Any help would be appreciated.

Was wondering if anyone could tell me what I am doing wrong, I copied the dbc extractor into the enus folder and it keeps telling me when i run the extract.bat that it could not locate the dll file…. any ideas? can anyone send the dbc folder to me, any help is appreciated

I’d suggest you to scan port 3724 using online port scanner to see if that port stealthed or opened (some people having port 3724 stealthed and if you got the same problem like that, try changing the realmd port into something else in realmd.conf :)

Unfortunately i can’t reproduce that, no connection made to the CZ site you mentioned (actually no outside connection were made from realmd)
Btw do you have any other program running ?

are you sure? how long did you wait? for me it took close to 10 minutes for the db to install (i installed the silvermoon one)and yeah…it did stop quite a few times…then start going again

Hey reaper, thanks for the guide ive been workin on turning my old emachine into a server for fun. I couldnt find your email so i figured id just post this on the page you mighr check first.
I followed the sql guide then this guide so i have Reaper Mangos 4629, ScriptDev2 150, PSDB 18.5 setup and configured properly on my computer for a “LAN party” i just went into the sql and have the relmd set to 192.168.1.104. which is my emachines ip address on the router. Now, i actually play WoW on my macbook.. so i went into my macbooks wow and set it up with 192.168.1.104. and wirelessly i can log onto the server on my emachine. so that works great =D.
to to my question..i what to whatismyip.com on my emachine got my ip address. (which i noticed is the same for my macbook and emachine and any other computer in my house…)
so, according to your guide the ONLY thing i need to do is change my 192.168.1.104 realm to my.inter.net.ip so i did.
i went into sql using navicat AND using the command prompt and changed it… see…

so there it is with my online ip. so, now i get on my macbook and change the realmlist.wtf to the ip address and it just sits at connecting.
for the record during this process just to make things easier on the emachine i turned the windows firewall OFF and had it forwardign all the ports ive read on these pots ppl said need to be forwarded. then i turned the firewall off.

there is a screenshot of my router forwarding (i dont know how to take screenshots on pcs lol thats why the first one of my emachine was a dig pic from my camera.)
so after i change it in sql and changeing the realmlist.wtf to my internet ip i go into WoW type my info on my macbook and i get “Unable to Connect” at the wow login screen. when im in a browser and type in my internet ip it takes me to my router. YES my internet IP does this. so does 192.168.1.1 which is my router ip. is that normal? and should i do anything to the realmd.exe? as yo ucan see when it starts up it still has the 127 ip in it. sigh, im just confused and want to be able to have a friend or 2 log on from their houses and i THINK i did exactly what your guide said im guessing you just left something out. Thanks for the guide is been a lot of help and if you can answer this that would be great.. in a second im gonna post some major bugs ive found and see if you know any fixes.

hey its me again . . . your third screenshot doesnt seem right for the install . . . after you put in the root PW it goes directly to which database do you want to install . . . also, why do i have to go to 99 for a fresh install?
i just tried this out again with a new fresh install of MySQL and i still cant get it to work . . . it stops at a bunch of numbers while importing the database. i would really appreciate some help on this because I really want this to work, and this is my last resort for my forum post has gone unanswered for the past week :’(

When trying to extract the DBC files Im getting the error can not locate file SFmpq.dll even though its in the directory.
To clear thinks up a bit more about vista.
Every version of mangos works with vista, because now I realise that vista needs an inredible amount of memory to work with, at least 2 gig. Since I have one gig, mangos is sweating like Gary glitter in bankok hilton.
That’s why the database probarly can’t keep up with wow.

the outland mobs dont drop anything,how might i change that?
