Mangos 4602, ScriptDev2 145 with Unified Database 0.7.5 CS319 work with WoW 2.1.3 to 2.2.3

Time for another Mangos release again :) … this time the Mangos revision used is 4602 with ScriptDev2 145, and as a warning that although you can play it using WoW Client version 2.2.x (such as WoW 2.2.0, 2.2.2, and 2.2.3), but it’s still not officially supported, so expect something to behave strange for example, hidden teleport in Orgrimmar when you are using WoW 2.2.x client. Although there’s already a fix for it, but since i prefer to distribute a clean compiled version without adding custom patch (such as database, script, mangos core), i decided not to include it :)
Things to note in this version :
1. I decided not to include the Project Silvermoon Database because Project Silvermoon Database website is down (it has been several days if i remembered it correctly)
2. No custom vendor on GM Island (because this is using Unified Database only, and custom vendor which is available on GM Island can only be found in Project Silvermoon database)
3. As for feeding pet … i’m not to sure on how to test it (seriously, because i never play on official server, though i wish i could play too)
That’s it … and now here are the steps :
Requirements :
Update : Reaper Mangos 4629 with ScriptDev2 150 and Dual Database has been released :)
1. MySQL (link to my previous post on how to install mysql)
2. Mangos + Database :
Mangos 4602 + Scriptdev2 145 with Unified Database 0.7.5 Changeset 319 | 9.36 MB | MegauploadMangos 4602 + Scriptdev2 145 with Unified Database 0.7.5 Changeset 319 | 9.36 MB | Rapidshare
Optional :
- DBC Files extracted from WoW 2.2.3 enUS Client | 2.59 MB (if you prefer the easiest way without extracting the DBC Files first by yourself)
Fresh Installation Guide (follow this if you’re planning on installing Mangos for the first time) :
1. Extract Maps, Vmaps and dbc files from WoW Client
2. Extract the self extracting archive somewhere, or you can just simply run it and choose to extract into the current directory (don’t worry it’ll create the ReaperMangos4602 folder automatically)
3. Run the reaper-x-mangos.bat inside the reaper-eazy-mangos directory / folder, and you’ll be greeted with this screen, and all you have to do is just write the full path to your mysql installation directory (or where mysql.exe and mysqldump.exe can be found) ;)
4. After finished writing the full path to your mysql installation directory, now you just need to choose option #1 to install the database for you and when prompted for your root password, you just need to write your mysql root password (remember the mysql installation ?) ;)
5. After finished with the above process, now you just need to choose option #4, and adjust each option accordingly (the most important thing is your Datadir location)
6. Now you need to go into your World of Warcraft Installation directory and open the realmlist.wtf file using notepad and then change these lines :
set realmlist us.logon.worldofwarcraft.com
set patchlist us.version.worldofwarcraft.com
into :
set realmlist 127.0.0.1
7. Now run mangosd.exe and realmd.exe
8. The first thing you should do of course create a new account for you, and this can be done by typing create username password in the mangosd window as shown on below image
But a normal account can be boring of course, so we need to configure our username to be a GM, and this can be done by simply typing setgm username 3 (the highest level of course, so you can do anything you want in your server) :P … and done :)
Upgrading from 4577 or below version (note: i only test it from Mangos 4488++ so if you’re using any version lower than 4488, i can’t give you any support)
1. Run the reaper-x-mangos.bat, and then go with option #99 and wait until finished
2. Then choose to backup your database
3. After finished with the backup process now you just need to choose the first option to install the database
4. Now you just need to choose the restore option
5. For the last step you just need to continue with configuring datadir (If you’re using ReaperMangos4577 previously, you just need to copy the previous mangosd.conf and realmd.conf into ReaperMangos4602 directory and done) :)

I use silvermoon, but oh well its good that he got this for others :) I'll see if I can find the new database for project silvermoon and tell reaper cause they have backup sites.

Unfortunately it's impossible for me to upload large files (100MB+) such as maps and vmaps :( (even 10MB file takes 30 minutes to complete)
btw actually you just need to wait until all the vmaps gets extracted properly (check the vmaps extraction guide so you know how it'll looks like when vmaps extraction finished) :)

i just downloaded the 18.5 release but still wondering should i include it in this one or include it on the next release ?
Most things on the server seem to be functioning well, but I am having problems with instances, especially the Caverns of Time. In Old Hillsbrad, the internment camp is in flames from the start. In Hyjal Summit, there are no waves of enemies; they just stand there. And in the caverns themselves, those two little children who give the quests are not there (though the swirly purple design is).
Not to mention, I couldn't finish Taretha's diversion; the barrels were in the flaming houses, but lighting them did nothing.
Actually those don't work because they have not been scripted yet. Void Reaver was working a bit more like intended already, there still are some wrong flags in the arcane orb target definitions, they have a dumb model and you nearly always resist their damage, althought they are marked to be lvl 70 in the DB but they appear as lvl 1 creatures. He also enrages after 10 minutes, that was kinda hilarious to experience.

I just have this little problem with this version. I backed up, installed, and restored, upgrading from version 4535. now, mangosd.exe is working just fine but when I try to work ralmd.exe it gives me the following error:

Hello there,
I have your compiled windows version running nicely. However I grabbed r4602 from the SVN repository and built it for Linux. At first I got "Unable to validate game version" but resolved this with a simple fix to src/realmd/AuthSocket.cpp (validating any game version).
Now I get so far as to choose a realm language & type, get recommended MaNGOS realm and then i get stuck at the realm list. Selecting the MaNGOS realm again brings up "Logging into game server" and then it gives up, returning to the realm list.
Are there any specific patches / changes you do to your source tree before building it for windows?

Reaper help please just tryed to do a clean installation and i get this application has failed to start because msvcr71.dll was not found re-installing the application may fix it this happens when i try to bring up mangosd.exe and i have redone it all 7 times still same thing please help

hey will i had that problem a while back and they way that i fixed it was like this: I tried to Register MSVCR71.DLL and it wouldn't work then I found the same type of file but only in lowercase letters and lowercase ext. and it worked. Sorry I can't remember where I found the file but you can try to rename it in all lowercase and then register it.. Hope that helps.
I have a similar problem to Oko's login loop, although I am using the windows version from this guide.

Hey. I got this problem too with Mangos 4577 but then I found out it was the program Mysql that did not work correctly. I reinstalled MySQL and re-uesd reaper-x-mangos.bat to reinstall the right data. then it loaded completely. Maybe it will help you too.
Pretty much NONE of the scripts/triggers for events work. Mobs only auto-attack, instances in doors don't open (Shadow Labs just tested); in CoT all three instances are bugged (the buildings in Hillsbrad are on fire to begin with, but I can't talk to Thrall, Medivh won't begin opening the portal, and enemies in Hyjal just stand around doing nothing).
Hi - I posted a couple of weeks ago and gave up in frustration at being unable to get a server up and running.
Well I am trying again and Have a Mangos 1.0.8 working - obviously this is not much good but I see graphics and all that pretty WOW stuff like a game - now I would like to try to upgrade.
Is there a tutorial on how to do this? Or do I really have to ditch this and start from scratch? I would appreciate any advice you could give me.

Great guide. Thanks for the work. My server is up and running with only minor issues that I am working through. It works for clients up through 2.2.3. This last upgrade appears to fixed the pet feeding issue as it is now working for me. Thanks again.
hye on this version does gm island have any venders?? and if not where can i get a patch for it.. and also lol how do you install patchs? i got one from the forms for instances.. but it doesnt tell me how to patch the server.
Decided to try from scratch - realised upgrading from 1.0.8 seems crazy.
Am I correct in thinking I put the extracted maps, vmaps and DBC folders in the ReaperMangos4602 folder?

I seem to get a Buildings Folder aswell from "make maps simple.bat" Is that right and should they be moved to the same location?
okay got all the way through DBC, Map and Vmap installation. Got to running Realmd and mangosd. Realmd works fine - Mangosd crashes instantly. Barely blinks on screen a second the is gone. I looked for a Mangosd Config file but there is none. Is this what I need or not?
I also would like to know where I can find some patches and how to install them so that I can get the scripts running correctly for the instances

Yep you'll need that mangosd.conf file first ;)
try running the reaper-x-mangos.bat and choose option 4 and adjust it accordingly, and you'll get that mangosd.conf file :D

Thanks for the tips. I reinstalled the database (assuming that is what you meant Elliott - you where a little unlcear - or more likely I am too much of a noob to understand the reference)
Made sure I chose option 4 this time and sure enough the config file was there.
Fired up MySQL and tried again. Realmd worked ok. Mangosd. Failed again - I seem to remember getting this probelm before - Cannot remember how I fixed it. Gah
I have the same problem as will up there, but I had the file it asked for in multiple places on my computer and after reading the Repins post i was about to ask how to register it. However i copied the file into my server folder and ran realmd again and it worked. :)

Now I actually have the same problem as will's second problem... I got my hands on the psdb 18.5, so i took a buncha :REM's outta reaper-x-mangos.bat, matched the filenames and made it so i could choose the psdb option. the database fnisihed uploading but now i get this error as i boot up mangosd:

You should use the SQL Updates in the Core Archive.

I used SQLyog to make the changes and it went fine
KompressR, what you need to do is apply the update "4594_item_template.sql" in the Mangos/OriginalSQL/Mangos4602/updates folder.
I used the SQLyog program to do it for mine, and it worked fine.

Been looking round the server as a GM. Used teleport commands - Got killed - appeared in graveyard. Spirit healer invisible and unable to select it. Cannot use ANY gm comands. All say "cannot chat when you are dead"

actually mangos autosave your character data :) .. but if you prefer to use manual way to save your character data, you can just type .saveall (ingame) or saveall (mangosd window)

if you die you can use the .revive command in /guild/party/whisper and you will be auto ressed, as it surgest you cannot chat while dead but guild, party and whisper are not classed as "general chat"

i am not sure exactly how you set up portals but you can create objects and spwn them so try the .lookupobject command for eg Portal andd see what it comes up with and to move a vendor you will need mysql database editing progam eg navicat or mysqlyog and edit the database for the npc coordinates manually (this is by no easy thing to do so use caution) the reason they move back is when you restart the server or they die they will spwn in there database location and not there moved location.
I did everything as directed for updating from 4577, and yes i did restore the character data with out any errors. when I got into the character selection screen everything looked normal but when I got on my character all the gear was missing along with all spells/abilities, I didn't even have a hearthstone... Any clue why this happened and is there any way to restore them now?

ok so i've found an older guide for setting up a server on your site, and i've managed to succesfully import the psdb, then ran the 4594_item_template.sql update. it now gets past that error, and i can get on the server. however i still get quite a few errors while mangos loads up. two questions:
am i supposed to install all the updates from this one on for better compatibility? and if so, i don't need to install any before this one?
secondly, am i supposed to install these updates before or after i install the database?

Based from the PSDB 18.5 description, it seems that DB is based from core 4556 ... which mean :D
if you're going to use with this version (4602), you'll need to import each available core update since 4557 and above :)
as a side note,
Mangos has just officially support the WOW 2.2.3 :) (just checked it today also there's database update from UDB) ... and that mean there'll be another release soon / perhaps after few days since i just released this 4602 version ;)

Hey, I don't exactly know what I'm doing wrong. I followed your instructions for the three extraction processes exactly. Yet, when I looked in my World of Warcraft folder after that 2 hours process, there were no additional folders like vmaps or maps. It seems like the scripts did actually do anything...
Again, I don't know what's happening, but clearly I've done something wrong.
I'm using 2.2.3 patch version but I set my acc to expansion and nothing :/ can you help me with that problem ?

the making of custom weapons is hard, if you are talking about making a "whole new weapon" then you will need a model maker, model viewer, and more, the easiest thing you can do though is use a existing template eg thunderfury and change the stats, you can do this with navicat and mysql but will take time to perfect and also takes a general understanding of how databases work, to get navicat you can go to http://www.navicat.com/download.html
be carful when you are doing this as editing things in the database may have unforseen curcumstances.

The only way that you wouldn't be able to use dranei or bloodelfs is 1.) you didn't enable TBC on your account. 2.) you dont have TBC installed.

Making weapons, armor, trinkets, rings, basically any item all you need is the program Quice http://wowps.org/forum/showthread.php?p=8627
Its a very simple program to use, all you have to do is tell Quice how to get to your database :server address, username, password, and what data base you want to edit (incase you run more then one server like i do). once you connect to your database, for practice i would make a duplicate item then change the GUID of the duplicate so you dont change the stats of the original item.

Sorry i also forgot to metion that you have to have Expansion = 1 in the mangosd.conf file, if all 3 of those things are all right, then i would suggest extracting all the files again. also make sure that you have a fresh install of WOW and TBC, sometimes if you dont have a fresh install of the WOW clients the extractors wont work right.

What i mean by fresh install is make sure that the wow folder that you extracted from wasnt a copy of the original wow folder, when your extracting files from a copy of the original folder is where you can experience problems. If all the 3 Things that I mentioned are correct, then MaNGOS doesnt have the required DBC,Map, and VMap files to enable TBC, and that is why you would have to re-extract the files from a fresh wow client

The only thing left that i can say to look into is, are you useing Reaper-x's extractors that came with this repack, if not make sure that they are compatible with TBC. The fact that you said that the 3 things i metioned are correct has me a little stumped, those are the only 3 reasons in 1+ years of working with magos that would fix your problem. If none of these things that i have metioned dont help please email me at thebloodthurst@yahoo.com i would like to help you figure this out.( i hate not knowing whats wrong, i always have to have thigs work right)

what is the name of the item creator, the only tools that i have used to make custom ites is Quice, and SQLyog. If you use one of those the program saves the item right to the db that you created or modified it in, if your using a program that doesnt connect to MYSQL then you are going to have to import that .SQL file into you weapon_template table. NOTE: you have to make sure that the item that you created doesnt have the same ID # as another item, if you try inserting a new item into the db with the same ID # as another item, the new item that you are inserting will over wright the original item that cause some problems for you in the long run, i always make the item #'s rediculously high so that the ID#'s wont clash. But to import the item into your database your going to have to use a SQL editor, i suggest MYSylog, once you have a SQL editor you can just go to your DB(i think its mangos by default) right click on what ever you named your mangos db and click import batch file and find the sql file that you made and import it. Its way easier to make items if you just use Quice, that program automatically inserts the item into your db

Technically i believe that the system message is considdered a world chat. if that is so then you can only change it in the mangos sorce. and you can only do that by compiling mangos yourself. This might be a difficult task for you if you dont have any experience with programming(c++, vb.net) but there are instructions on how to do that at mangosproject.org, i would explain it to you hear but i dont think reaper-x would appreciate that.

from experience normally that happens when you dont have a fresh install of WoW and TBC when you go to extract all the need files.Look up a few posts about what i said to Skerci. If you dont have a fresh ver of WOW and TBC uninstall WoW then reinstall everything

You could try a windows search for the folders to make sure they didn't end up somewhere you were not expecting. "VMAPS" must be a fairly unique folder name.

what simon said too is also true if you may have moved them, but if you followed reaper-x's instrucions you should have DBC, VMaps, Maps, and Building folders in your wow folder, you need to make sure that the extractors are placed in the correct folders. If the extractors are not in the proper folders the files will not be extracted

I have the program that allows me to alter my server files, Navicat Lite, and i know where the weapons are, and i can probably make my own, but i am not sure what all the columns mean. I'd suggest you to open the reaper-x-mangos.bat directly and then copy paste the sql query used and execute it directly from the command prompt :)
1. Open command prompt
2. type mysql -umangos -pmangos -D realmd
3. and paste the sql query used from the batch file ;)

i download the reaper thing and started reaper-mangos.bat and when it asked me for the root password i typed it in (i had to change it to another one) it gives me a bunch of number without stopping.

ok, i finally downloaded it and installed WoW... it took like 5+ hours... what a waste... :-(
I installed wow and connected to a private server just so it could make all its files, ok everything was good, then I copyed ad.exe and the extract bat file thing and opened the batch file (the one that runs ad.exe and makes the maps folder)...
It made the folder and loaded the files, but as soon as it started to proccess the files a windows error came up: Ad.exe has blah blah blah...
i am unhappy....
in case it matters I am on Windows 2000 Pro. with all updates on a 950MHz 512 Ram computer
please explain what I should do, I ran repair.exe like 3 times and it still had an error with I ran ad.exe again :(

ok, i dont have the maps directory or the vmaps directory but i downloaed your DBC directory...
i put it in C:\reapermangos\data
and i got the dll
then i installed mangos (the database stuff)
and tried to run mangosd.exe
it opened and it got to the line that said it was using the DBC files and the release etc.
and i screen came up:
mangosd.exe has created an error, you will need to restart the program.
is this cuase i didnt open realmd.exe first??

Actually that dll (MSVCR71.dll) is included with .NET Runtime 1.1 :) that's why i don't think its necessary for me to include it
btw it seems from your description, your computer is running AMD 950 which is a Thunderbird (if i remember it correctly) so probably i'll need to compile a new one for you
as for maps and vmaps, you'll need at least 2.84 GB
EDIT: btw i'll post here when i've uploaded it :) (you just need to overwrite the executable from the 4602 with this one, because im not include the sql to make uploading process much faster ... because well .. erm im using slow connection lol)
another update:
when i run realmd.exe (before and after i run mangosd.exe) i get the same error as i do when i opened mangosd.exe
The Program realmd.exe has generated errors and will be closed by windows. You will need to restart this program.

So, my realmd.exe file stopped working so i now need a fix for that and the server the error i get is something like:unknown host:127.0.0.1.3306

Ok so now everything works even the lan server (sort of) But when i open realmd.exe it still says it's connecting to 127.0.0.1;3306 and idk what happened when i type in that message in cmd it worked fine but now the realmd isn't working.. So how do i change it to connect to my server?
it seems to me that it can't connect to the realmd database on the sql server, if i were you i'd rerun the easy-mangos.bat file and reinstall the database after backing up characters....

Xp bar vanished.
Hi - I have been testing my server and found that the xp vanished at 70 then reappeared at 71. All good.

ok, well from what that says it looks like MySql is ready for mangos to connect... you should look and make sure the realmd and mangos databases look like and that they are there... if not you will need to reinstall mangos, but if the databases are there then it might be a bigger problem...
and simon, yesh thats normal, i dont know about lvl 88 but for lvl 70 that always happens on a private server...

Hey, Reaper, hopefully you can help me with this. I have got everything up and running on my system with no errors for the installation and running the world, but the only thing i cannot do is log into the world. Whenever I go to log into it it says wrong information but it will still let me log into normal WOW servers. Even if I delete the realmlist.wtf and change the config.wtf in the WTF file. Well, I am stumped because I cannot figure out where it is getting the information for logon. Thanks for your help

you need the realmlist.wtf
make it say
set realmlist yourip
then for the database:
you need to use a sql client (like SQLyog) and go to the database 'realmd' in that database there is a tablecalled realmlist
change (do not add a row, change the existing one) the address value to your servers IP address like 192.168.1.2 or whatever your INTERNAL address is(if you have a router, if no router then just your ip address)
to find your ip address go to the command prompt and type
ipconfig
the address will be shown.
if you need more help i will be on in about 15 hours so just post here, or ask reaper (idk if he can explain it anybetter)
BTW the realmd database is a SQL database (in case i really needed to spell it out)

trying to get server running - I have maps/vmaps and dbc in D:\mangos\reapermangos4602\data.
In the mangosd.config I have the datadir listed as D:\mangos\reapermangos4602\data.
Yet mangosd fails saying I have the maps etc in the wrong place. Any ideas please?
The server was running fine for three days and I have made no changes to it.
remember when you ran the installer? you had to pick option 4 and tell it where your data directory is, right?

If it says a map is missing you either do not have the BC expansion installed when you made the maps or you are not getting all maps because you do not have the correct wow patch installed.

Try logging in as a GM and use the cammand wchange
wchange,”Syntax: .wchange #weathertype #status Set current weather to #weathertype with an intensity of #status. #weathertype can be 1 for rain, 2 for snow, and 3 for sand. #status can be 0 for disabled, and 1 for enabled.”
This will tell you if its working or not.

You need to put ur maps, vmaps, and dbc folders into your C:\Program Files\World of Warcraft\data. Also change your config (press #1 in reaper-eazy-mangos.batch i believe) and change the Directory in which the folders (maps,vmaps,dbc) are in to C:\Program Files\World of Warcraft\data. Good Luck. :)

When I try to change the weather with the .wchange command, it just keeps telling me:

Found a work around for the feed pet problem. Use the GM command " .learn 1539 " to get the feed pet effect spell. Just use this spell instead of the normal feed pet spell. The effect of this spell is a little slower then normal but it works. Just use it whenever you get the chance too.

Maybe this is the wrong place to post this question. I notice that nearly all of the NPC characters have an odd characteristic: They float. Not all of the time. When they go into a walking animation, they're back on the "ground". But the minute they stop, they "pop" back off the ground. Then they move and return to the ground and then "pop" back. Anyone else have this problem or can point me out to the right place?

im running mangos 4602, installed the server fine, no problems on installing it.
everything works but the bloodelves. everytime you log onto a bloodelf it crashes wow, with error 132 violation access error. expansion works fine, outlands work fine, all outlands instances and expansion instances work excelent.
its just once a bloodelf loads the game crashes, any chance on helping??? all TBC is set correctly

Hey, I did everything perfectly, but the last minute shocked me.
As I open realmd and mangosd Mangosd gives me an error message:::
You have _outdated_ DBC files. Please extract correct versions from current using client.
I've already tried re-extracting them, but same message. Can someone please E-MAIL me the answer!

I've make sure the update process is a little bit easier in 4629 release :) try updating to that release and let me know if you still having problem :)

I have created 3 blood elv with different class without any problem at all :(

as a side note, actually i don't really have any problem with blood elv even with the older release, so i'm guessing that's more into OS problem
for example, someone who's running Vista often experience mangosd process crash when talking to guard but i can't reproduce that (im running XP SP2 update till december 2006)

PLS someone help me!!! I can't extract the maps, because I can't find anywhere the file (extract-map.bat) I search for it everywhere but I can't find it! Please someone give me a link!
i have a slight problem; step one: when i have to extract the maps, the box that shows you that your extracting them only flashes up, and it creates an empty folder named 'maps', and later in the installation, it says it cant find the folder with the extraccted maps in, im so confused!
i have a question when to down load the new update where do you put that file to get it to link into the old one do you copy and paste them into the file you have the old one cuase i tryed that with the last patch and had to redo complete fresh intallation pleaseee help also is there a way to add brew fest or the fairs they have like in the real wow or do they create them from the object files cause i cant figure what they do ty great job reaper and all who help on this site

Could you tell me, were you able to locate that file directly using windows search function ? .. if you can't found that file using windows search function that mean you didn't extract the vmaps correctly and need to start all over again (the vmaps extraction process) by deleting the vmaps, and buildings directory first

my mangos and mysql install fine but when i try and get in to the game it says incorrect password or username but ive made one for myself but it still don't work how do i fix this problem so i can make a character on my server
I removed all the old files and did everything again (the extractors and reaper-x-mango.bat) making sure to choose option 1 first and I still get the error (SQL ERROR: Table 'realm.realmlist' doesn't exist). could this be because I only have MySQL version 4.1?
I seem to have gotten it working, uninstalling 4.1 and installing mysql 5.0 fixed it. Thanks for all the help!
We've been pretty successful with most aspects of our server. Our big issues is portals. We can't use any portals. Whether is a clicking portal, or a portal that leads into an instance, none of them are working. The only instances we can use atm are the ones that have .tele locations that go directly into the instances themselves. Any help or info available is appreciated. Thanks for your work.

try running this query from the command prompt (because your character data corrupted) :
1. Open command prompt
2. type :
mysql -umangos -pmangos -D mangos
REPAIR TABLE `character`;
quit
and done
btw since this is the first time i hear someone got their character table crashed ... i'd like to know how many players you have in your server actually ? :)

I have this error when i try to open mangosd.exe and realmd.exe : application has failed to start because msvcr71.dll was not found re-installing the application may fix it.

After i downloaded it, i tried to open the realmd.exe and mangosd.exe, but the same error pops up again. i need help and pls reply .Thx.

No, don't download that file because it was made for someone who's having problem with mangosd not running

first i'd suggest you to get the 4651 release instead :)
and about the msvcr71.dll, you can download it from here and then put it in the same directory where mangosd.exe and realmd.exe reside

So I'm able to run the MySQL correctly but when I run Realmd it says something to the lines of "incorrect password, access denied to (name) @ 127.0.0.1:mangos:mangos:realmd" it also does the same thing for when I double-click on Mangos.exe.
