Mangos 4535 ScriptDev2 137 work with WoW 2.1.3, 2.2, and 2.2.2

I just noticed today that patch 2.2.2 has been released … and so that’s why i’ve decided to upload another release of WoW Mangos for WoW 2.2.2 but for optimal result you should use it on 2.1.3 though since 2.2 and 2.2.2 just gets released this week, so it’s not fully supported yet … but i’ve decided to upload this eventhough i just released 4524 few days ago …
Although i don’t see any problem at all (but that’s because of my lack knowledge about World of Warcraft itself) … but … at least the mangosd.exe process is not crash :P and it is still running in the background normally. As another note, since the only files changed in 2.2+ is just the DBC files, i’ve included the DBC files to make thing easier for you … and all you have to do is just extract the VMaps and Maps files and then configure the datadir, and lastly you just need to import the database
But i think it’d be better if i list the steps :)
UPDATE : If you just recently upgraded into WoW 2.2.3 … please check my new Mangos 4577, Scriptdev2 140 and with Project Silvermoon and Unified Database included ;)
Requirements :
Mangos 4535 – Scriptdev2 137 – Silvermoon 18 – Extracted DBC from WoW 2.2 | MegauploadMangos 4535 – Scriptdev2 137 – Silvermoon 18 – Extracted DBC from WoW 2.2 | RapidshareReaper-X Mangos Batch File update – Overwrite the old / included reaper-x-mangos.bat inside reaper-eazy-mangos directory from the above link with this one, this update fix the problem where the rate changer is not properly written :)
Upgrading from previous Mangos 4488, 4505, and 4525 release :
Note : Look for my previous post for MySQL Installation guide, because i assume you’ve done installing and configuring mysql ;)
1. Copy the dbc files included overwriting previously extracted DBC Files
2. Run the reaper-x-mangos.bat inside reaper-eazy-mangos directory, and choose to backup your character first
3. Then choose Installation / Upgrade … and wait until finished
4. Now choose the Restore option to restore your precious character data
5. Choose the option to adjust the datadir, and configure the exp rate, etc …
6. Now you need to go into your World of Warcraft installation directory, and then delete the Cache directory there and then run mangosd.exe and realmd.exe you’re done
Optional : Since this 4535 release, i’ve modified the batch script so to those who want to change their realm name can do it using the menu provided instead of executing the sql queries manually :)
Fresh Installation :
1. Copy all files from MapExtractor directory and VMaps Extractor and Assembler into your World of Warcraft Installation directory and then run extract-map.bat first and wait until it’s finished, after finished now you need to run the makevmaps_SIMPLE.bat and wait until Press Any Key To Continue Message appear (that mean you’ve finished extracting the VMaps) … before that message appear don’t close that window (don’t worry it’ll took a while to finish this process) :)
2. After finished with the previous steps, now you just need to move the VMaps and Maps directory which is created automatically from the previous step into the same directory as your DBC Directory
3. Now you just need to follow the upgrade process, because the next steps is just the same like the Upgrading process with the exception if you’re doing a fresh install, you don’t need to perform backup first

Another note : WoW 2.2 and 2.2.2 still not fully supported by Mangos, so if you found any errors message when used on WoW 2.2, or 2.2.2 … you just need to wait until the Mangos team has released the fully compatible … this is just a quick and dirty way so you can play on WoW 2.2.2 which is just released today

Install works untill the final two steps: mangosd.exe and realmd.exe, they can't find my directory path (dbc, maps and vmaps)no matter what I do.
Error messages are: Using unknown world database, 0004331.map not excists (Have it in the right dir) and please put the (maps etc.) in the appropriate directories (which I have, double checked) Is this because I,m using Vista?
I have the sme problem as siegelink except it only can't find the vmaps. Im on vista also.
And btw? am I correct in assuming that you no longer need to do anything with the SDB files anymore and that they are integrated during install, because otherwise that step is missing from the tutorials.

In order to import items into the database, you need to be able to actually see the database. This can be done by installing a program called SQLYog. It’s a GUI for MySQL.
When you run it, it’ll ask you to connect to your MaNGOS database. After you do that, you’ll see a side column with your MaNGOS database displayed. Right click on it, and go down to “Restore from SQL Dump.”
Another window will pop up where you can select the .sql file you want to extract to the database. Select the file of the weapon you made, hit execute, and you’re done. The item will have been imported into the database.
That is, unless you get an error. In which case, that ID number has already been taken, and you’ll have to find a new one.

hi im struggling getting other people to connect to my server they can connect through LAN but not from outside my LAN they get stuck on the connecting screen i have no router and my firewall is disabled so ports and port forwarding arnt the issue im using Mangos 4534 dont know wether this supports outside connections to my server, i have tried no-ip DNS and that didnt seem to make no diffrence to the situation the mysql command to change the server works fine and i had no errors or had to retry anything while installing this version of mangos, SO if anyone has any bright ideas then please let me know im kinda pulling my hair out now as my friends pester me daily to see wether i have done it yet -.-
which mangos version do you use in your packages? the latest available one on mangos-files.de is 4505.

I backed up my character data then restored it and the game opens and all but I can't create new characters or see my old characters... I know they are there because I see them in my MySQL Database.

It seems that your system missing some dll, try searching for MSVCR71.DLL using Google, and you'll see where you can download that dll .. and then put it in the same directory as Mangos ;)

Your tutorials have been a great help to me, however I am stuck and am on the verge of giving up. When I use 'mangosd.exe' or 'realmd.exe' I get a 'MSVCR71.dll' error. At first it was saying the dll was missing, so I tried installing windows 2.0 framework (worked) and windows 1.1 framework (gave an install error). Installing the frameworks did not correct the problem. I then downloaded the dll from the net and placed it in the windows system directory. Now when I try to run 'mangosd.exe' or 'realmd.exe' I get error saying 'MSVCR71.dll' is not designed to run on windows or it contains an error.
Is there anyway I can get around this problem?
Before when I was running a classic WoW server the 'mangosd.exe' & 'realmd.exe' you supplied worked perfectly.
I am running a dedicated PC with Windows Server 2008 and don't really want to change as I have a valid cd key for it.

btw did you register the msvcr71.dll first ? by typing :
regsvr32 msvcr71.dll
as a note, msvcr71 comes with .NET 1.1, while .NET 2 and 3 gives you msvcr80
i'd suggest you to put the msvcr71 into the same directory as mangos first and see if it's working for you or not ;)
Yes my friend can ping my PC he gets 4sent 4 recived thats why its so confusing he can connect (in a limited fashion)but then gets booted.
My RealmD and Mangos doesnt work,when i run em it says :Cannot Connect.
+ when i run reaper -x- mangos and i wanna upgrade/install,it doesnt i rype my root password and when i have typed it,it says done.
It says Mysql is not recongized as an internal command,Operable program or batch while.

I looked at msvcr71's properties, but there was no version number shown (maybe it is corrupt).
I tried putting the dll in the mangos directory, didn't change a thing.
I also tried going start 'run' 'regsvr32 msvcr71.dll' and i got the error message "The module 'msvcr71.dll' may not be compatible with the version of windows you're running. Check the module is compatible with x86 (32-bit) or x64 (64-bit) version of regsvr32.exe."
Any ideas? Maybe if you could upload your msvcr71.dll & msvcp71.dll files.

It's me again.
No I didn't get any error message, MySQL instance server is working properly; never any error while extracting all the files. I just can't get into database... I have no idea why.

Did you wait until the VMaps extractor process complete without interrupting it ? (wait until you see Press Any Key to continue message)
Or if you don't want to use VMAPS (i'd recommend you to use vmaps, just wait for the extraction process to finish although it'll take a while from 30 minute - 45 minute depending on how fast your computer is), you can disable it by editing mangosd.conf using text editor
change these lines
vmap.enableLOS = 1
vmap.enableHeight = 1
into
vmap.enableLOS = 0
vmap.enableHeight = 0

i'd suggest you to pay a visit to microsoft website to look for compatible DLL file from there

I just ran the reaper-x-mangos.bat a second ago.
It asked my bin directory so I did the C:\Program Files\MySQL\MySQL Server 5.0\bin (hence default directory)
I typed it in... and I am in the mangos thing's main menu =D
There's options [1] to [6]

I have installed a freh copy of wow and patched it to 2.2.2.
Then I extracted ReaperMangos4535.exe in c:\
Then 2 days of trying to make sense of the tutorials resulted in this:
I made the two maps and put them in c:\ReaperMangos4535\data changed in 2.2\
Then I followed a tutt. saying that I had to put 3 files create-database.sql\mangos-full-for-rev3462.sql\realm-database-full.sql into c:\wow\sdb
I, am correct that the latest files (sql) are from the CompleteSDB156-Mangos3462.rar ?
if it says that you miss some maps or dbcs, you should try extracting them again.
My dbc folder is 43,5mb,
maps 1,06mb,
and vmaps 1,75mb
If they are less than those, i think you should extract them again (well the sizes may not always be that, depends on the version or something, i guess)
oh looks like the dbcs are included in the download? so its not it if it says something about them

I got probs extract the dbc files. I have copied the files from your folder into wow\data\enGB ... when i try start it says it cant start ... i think it is couse i dont have US wow ... how do i do then ??
Actually my question is about adding .sql patches to the DB. Am I able to select more than one at a time using SQLyog (maybe a batch file), or am I stuck only being able to load one a time?
Any suggestions? I've got a couple dozen I want to add, and I'm like 'crap, this is taking too long'.
Other than that, I've been able to get 0 errors on my installation, so I'm a happy camper.

I installed WOW the downloadable US version and patched it up to 2.2.2.7318
I followed the tutorial on this page and every step is clear.
I extracted the maps vmaps from wow.
Then I extracted the ReaperMangos4535 in c:\ and placed the maps in c:\ReaperMangos4535\data changed in 2.2
Then I executed reaper-x-mangos.bat
and installed it (option1) and also gave the directory path for the mysql\bin and the data path.
After running mangosd.exe I noticed errors.
(all the maps where extracted db checked)
Then going trough all the posts and tutorials I found out that I hadden't imported a database file so I downloaded SDB_0.7_FULL_Mangos_4051.zip
The tutorial also makes mention of 3 other files named create-database.sql mangos-full-for-rev3462.sql realm-database-full.sql
Here's where I got confused because the tutorial is quite old and for a much older version of WoW and mangos

Ah actually if you're already using 4505++ you don't need to follow that guide anymore (beside since 4488 im using another database), because i've made the batch script in order to make installation process easier :)
all you have to do is just run the reaper-x-mangos.bat, then choose install, change the datadir using the menu provided, set realmlist into 127.0.0.1 and you're done :)

ah lol, actually there's no SDB anymore since 4488 because i've moved to Silvermoon database :)
and no, you dont need to import anything manually anymore since everything already done via the batch file created by me
you just need to pick the install option and continue the rest ;)
the previous guide was created to those who's interested to see how everything works (if they're interested on learning)
but it seems i was wrong, most people prefer to use an easy way to do it so i choose to create that batch file (and add more features into it by reading every comment posted especially to those who's keep having problem on specific area) :)
Its not working to change the enUS to enGB but i try install a US version of the game instead. It takes much time to install and download it, so if you got any other suggestion to fix the extracter on other way it would be very kind :)
If you write any anwer too me ill check it tomorrow then cuz i gotta sleep ...

Yes, my password for this matter is also "root"
And I'm certain of it.
I did try to change the user;password in realmd and mangos.conf to match that and also use default mangos;mangos username and password. Both won't work...

Do you need every patch created for WoW to stop mangosd.exe giving errors.?
Errors like:
Unknown world database, place maps and vmaps in approprate directory (While I configured the right path),Can't find a certain map like 0004331.map.
Or is this a Windows Vista problem?
Also I noticed that while extracting maps it says error opening archive /data/expansion.mpq Is that because I don't have burning crusade installed and is it harmfull.?
ALso are there more posters who experience this and if you are, are you using windows Vista by any change.?

Because I think the reason it doesn't work
is because of windows vista's compatibility files (the way the system makes you think that you creating files in c:program files\ but exually puts the files, or some of them in a different directory.

Never mind, I got everything to work I just notice some errors with npc's not moving and my face not showing up on the character tab and on the character bar.
You're going to need this patch as well (mangosd will tell you that item_template doesn't have enough columns):

Yeah, I guess that would be about right. I've kind of taken on to compiling my own source and so far the most recent I've been able to take on error free is Mangos4479 - ScriptDev2Rev134 - SilvermoonDBRev18. However, I'd like to be able to take on all the 'patch' sqls', in order of course, and load them as a bulk file rather than one at a time. Or would I just be better off piecing them in as needed?

Issue im having is i Just upgraded with your batch wich all went very smoothly excepting i had to re install sql (my pc got wiped). But to the point, my pc wont connect to the server anymore, i get to the point where i should be creating a character and it just repeatedly goes back to a window with the realm list no matter how many times I click it, I've disabled the firewalls on both pc's and have checked to make sure im not loosing any packets. Any ideas?
Does anyone know where i can get the scripts to make the bosses(mostly raid bosses) work right. Its just a whole lot more epic if the bosses behave like they would on a blizz server.

I assume that you've configured everything previously, now first you need to check that if the realmlist ip already set to use 127.0.0.1 (you can do it using the batch file) ;)

If you dont have the expansion installed, first i'd suggest you to open mangosd.conf
change
Expansion = 1
into
Expansion = 0
I started with the tutorial for Mangos 4488. Can i update right to 4535 or do i need to do any others first?

yep you can just update into 4535 right away (just run reaper-x-mangos.bat and do the rest) ;)

Im having the same problem as Meh but i have the expansion. What should i do.
if you're sure you've installed the expansion correctly, then you just need to extract the maps and wait until it finished :)
some people are having problem with their expansion.MPQ file being corrupted, and if you're experiencing the same issue, the only solution is to uninstall WoW completely and then reinstall it
or you can try the disabling the expansion map by changing that expansion line into 0 (of course you can't visit any maps that's based from the expansion)
I have run the reaper-x-mangos and configuered my mangos (option 4). I close this out once I was done. I opened up realmd and mangosd, run WoW and it says that "unable to validate Game version" and I noticed that my mangosd cmd prompt was no longer open as well. I am very confused now lol.

And I noticed in elwynn forest that there are no npc's and creatures also stormwind city is completely emty.?
Is most of this stuff just waiting until a new version of mangos arives ?

I know exactly your problem , download an Ad.exe , if you got EnGB version of wow search for and AdGB.exe . you currently installed Antrix or/and Ascent maps.

... Same problem as Meh. you got the wrong map's extracted, because te in the "map" file all NPC'S are in it. do the instructions as above and you can pwn stormwing ;D
When I run my makevmaps_SIMPLE it doesnt end in "press any key to continue." I get "C:\program files\world of warcraft\vmap_assemble.exe buildings vmaps splitconfig.txt" is this what I should have at this point? I have let it run for over an hour and nothing changes.

I'll assume you mean add.exe that's in the tool dir\MapExtractor.
I,m using the latest version of mangos (4535)-new install 2.2.2
I,m also using Vista with 1024 mb mem (A bit to tight for confort maybe)
also I noticed that the second time all the npc's WHERE in their place but before I could walk to stormwind city it crashed again.
If I do have the wrong version (add.exe) where can I get the new one and which version is it.

I have a problem where my server crashes randomly every 30 or so minutes and gives me an error "mangosd.exe has stopped working: A problem caused the program to stop working correctly. Please close the program"
Please don't tell me its because I'm using 2.2, it took me so long to setup.

Was just doing some more testing and found that when you talk to a stormwind city guard (asking for directions) it crashes.
I am having a weird problem. I have no cache folder in my Warcraft folder and i have no dbc folder in my wow folder so.. help me idk what to do and i am getting mad. Also the last step of the "fresh install" please. I am a noob i just wanna be god at wow :D help me please! Thanks-

whenever i try to start reaper-x-mangos and do the Install/upgrade after i put in the password(i know its correct) it says 'mysql' is not recognized as an internal or external command, operable program, or batch file. Any idea what i should do?
Not really i am having the same thing but, i just did the "fresh installation" instead so try that either that or maybe it's supposed to say that but i don't get what to do on step 3 for the fresh start so reaper, please help me dude ;).

Similar problem here. did the update process as mentioned above (I installed 4524 from scratch and it was working well before the patch, though glitches in Outlands made a few invisible mobs have the wrong model and behave oddly) . After that I just added a few items I created to item_template. Started Mangos and Realmd and they worked. Realmd reports my WoW connecting, but I get the same message as Mike. Mangos and realmd do not crash though, they keep working and taking new connections, but the error persists...

Actually the rest of the step is just the same of the upgrade process which is listed above it :)
with the only exception you don't need to backup your character first ;)

Did you put the correct path to your mysql bin directory location when asked ?
Got the mistake I made. I only copied the update batch file and forgot to get all the other files in place. All working now.

after 2.1.3, you can upgrade to 2.2.0 and then upgrade to 2.2.2 or if you prefer to stick with 2.1.3 its also supported :)
Hey! I'm pretty new to all this stuff, but I installed MySQL and the Mangos 4535 and put the server up..
But how do I create the accounts so that I can log on to the servers? Haven been tryin to find an answer for hours, but I just have no idea! Please help! :)

ah you just need to write this command on your mangosd console window :
create testusername testpassword
and then to be a GM
setgm testusername 3

My server worked fine 2 days ago
hi, sorry for whining again.
I have US wow 2.2.2.7318 running with reapermangos4535 (burning crusade not installed)
But after playing for a while I noticed that there where no creatures anymore and that the npc's wheren't clickable (didn't respond).
A minute after that mangos crashed.
(especialy when you click a guard)

Mike2 says that he also experience the same problem when talking to city guard
unfortunately i dont really have any problems with it ... and im running tbc client 2.2.2 with 4535 (i checked it several times and mangos still running in the background)
as for the opcode you can just safely ignore it because it's not currently handled yet (the voice chat feature in 2.2+)

If its previously working 2 days ago, and you just upgraded recently, you need to double check the datadir and see if you're using the correct datadir ;)
also 04331.map is a normal map which is required in order for mangos to work
