   ran into anouther error but figured it out and am sharing a tip. when coping the data directory info do not copy the ” befor eand after type them in manualy. make sure to include them but do not past them actualy spend the time to type the stupid ” in will save you a headack or 2

   ok yea the importer was currupted re downloaded then extracted just the importer file and replaced the old one and now the importer is doing a lot more also to all other following this procces do not change any settings in the importer as sugest above as it will couse the importer to not work right best of luck all and think I got at least this step working right will keap posted. thanks for the great guid reaper

   wish my problem could be fixed so easaly the import file worked fine for me but didn’t fix the prob. might there be something wrong with the import file perhps some form of curuption or anything? is there a way to check and make sure that the import program worked properaly?

   Hi Reaper, excellent work; the amount of info and feedback here are extrordinary. I hate to add to the overwhelming list of questions, but I was wondering if you might know what this problem was.

   Despite doing everything exactly according to the walkthrought, I’m having an issue identical to Star.

   Everything works perfectly until step 11. When I try to start mangosd.exe I get this error:

   I too am using your pack of mangos 4505 with wow version 2.1.3 on a windows XP sp2 machine.

    Install sql install mangos got everything to work up to the running the mongosd.exe and realmd.exe and then I get this error

    Could not connect to MySQL database at 127.0.0.1: Can’t connect to MySQL server on ‘127.0.0.1′

    Cannot connect to world database 127.0.0.1;3306;mangos;mangos;mangos

    I checked task manager and mysql.exe is in the processes list I am using windows xp operating system. any help you can give me would be much apretiated. Thanks in advance.

    PS: am also planning on setting the server up to be used primarily on a router secondarily allowing 1 internet user don’t know if that information matters in this instence but am tring to give you all the info possible.

    PSS: am setting it up to use the burning crusades in case that matters also.

    I had the same problem but after putting C:\reaper-mangos-R4505-full\reaper-eazy-mangos\
    in front of the sql scripts within the “Import.bat” file it worked like a charm.

    Copy and replace all content in the Import.bat filewith the following, save and run it:

    This was almost correct but he left out the closing brackets wich generated a difrent error heres the corrected version so others can simply copy and past hope it helps someone.

    Well if you’re using 4524++ (im if not wrong because i completely forgot when i include my batch file lol)

    you need to adjust your realmlist ip address to your ip address

    then adjust some port forwarding especially on 3724 and 8085

    and you’re done ;)

    though on some people they need to change the realmd port into other values

    Okay, i’ve followed your guid, but i didn’t do the vmaps thingy cuz megaupload wouldn’t let me download it and also because you said it wasn’t necesary. So, when i ran the mangosd.exe it gave me this message

    Could not find vmap files ‘C:/reaper-mangos-R4505-full/data/vmaps/00_43_31.vmdir’
    Correct *.map files could not be found in path ‘C:/reaper-mangos-R4505-full/data/maps’ or *.vmap/*vmdir files in ‘C:?reaper-mangos-R4505-full/data/vmaps’. Please place *.map/*.vmap/*.vmdir files in appropriate directories or correct the DataDir value in the mangosd.conf file

    what should i do?

    What is your operating system ? i only test that batch file in Windows XP, although someone saying that he’s using Vista and it also worked there :)

    DBC files are different than the vmaps and maps file :) … so you need to extract the vmaps and maps too

    Did you choose the first option to install the database ? btw try using the 4577 version instead :)

    I tried all the things I could find within the other questions on this subject but to no use. what I love to know is a couple things one what exactly this step is doing or rather how I will know when it works correctly. Also is there a way to manualy skip this step?

    umm… i’m having trouble w/ the dbc files. i have copied the dbc extractor into the data folder and let it finish extracting everything. when it is finally finished the folder w/ the dbc files is only 44.2 mb….i try to run the mangosd.exe and it runs and finds all the maps and vmaps and starts on the dbc files and then gets and says “Error loading ‘playercreateinfo’ table or table is empty”. any suggestions on what to do?

    ended up having a DB error and having to reinstall WoW. Instead of installing MySQL from the website, I’m currently using Tompack. Which is a compository of everything I need. The only issue is that black temple isn’t spawned and hyjal is yah, well screwed. Any advice on how to fix this issue. Update procedures maybe. Thx

    Try using my extracted DBC version … btw if you’re running WoW 2.2.0, then you can just ignore that error message, but if you’re using WoW 2.2.2 (which is just released today), then you need to upgrade into my mangos 4535 release ;)

    Seballe Either you didn’t include the bin dir of MySQL in you path during the MySQL setup, like you were supposed to, or during the run of the import.bat file you didn’t actually write the path down (you probably thought that it would default to the one included in the parenthesis). In the second case write down the path.

    I changed the ‘/’s and then imported my data, try that perhaps?

    I used the import.bat after every change I made, it’s rather handy ;)

    I am getting the same problem as elliot. I changed the slash directions and that didnt help.

    When i tran the mangosd.exe while using 4488 it loaded properly. But as soon as i updated to 4505 it got that error.

    Hey Elliot, I fixed my problem.

    Go to the mangosd configuration and instead of your Datadir having ‘\’ in them, replace with ‘/’. Should fix the problem loads.

    And Reaper-X, I’m not sure whats happening about the server I made and I would like to know if you could perhaps post/comment a high rate realm setting for mangosd.config which works very well.

    I just want a 12x rate for everything realm to work. Please can you design one for me?

    I have been testing out the server and I am wondering why there are some many enemies everywhere. What can I do to fix the number of spawned enemies. It is way too high i think. Also, in the blood elf starting place, the feral tenders drop 71 silver a piece. How can i change that?

    Actually, I found the problem.

    Hey Reaper-X, the VMap Extractor is missing the 000_43_31.vmap and .vmdir files…

    That’s my only problem.

    Is there some way I can get these files please? I have numerous times extracted the vmaps and maps but still no sign of these missing 2 files.

    I have figured that this is the last of my problems and the final step to making my server. Would thank you entirely if you could help me please.

    if you still can’t get vmaps to work, you can always disable the vmaps support :)

    look at my previous comment on how to disable vmaps

    Note : eventhought you can disable vmaps support but you still need the maps itself

    If you previously using another repack, actually it should be fine as long as the mysql is not included with that repack

    so i’d suggest you to install mysql manually first :)

    Does the mangosd process run on the same machine you’re going to connect to ? if yes .. then you’ll need to add your lan ip address into windows hosts file (dont ask me why, but you’ll need to do that if you’re using windows) :P

    Thanks for your great guides and packs!
    With their help (and a lot of panicked fiddling) I managed to go from an older mangos installation from another source to your newest one without actually losing my characters (even tough I had forgotten to backup them!).

    I am looking forward to all further updates you might come up with. :D

    Now I just have to figure out how to further edit the database. XD

    tnx for an excellent guide. however, i have everything up and running and working fine from LAN-connections. but when i try to connect from internet i just get to realm selection where i see MaNGOS with my chars on. but can’t actually connect. My router is set in DMZ and windows-firewall is also disabled. please help, tnx.
