Just wait until you have a high end card like my new 8600 and try and use TV out via the new control panel (no ability to switch to old CPL in the latest NVidia drivers!) with the drivers for it, you will have lots and lots of hassle and I am still having problems with the control panel letting me have an 'apply' button, giving me the menu options I need which are not there any more and of course the B/W pic, which is the best I can manage on my analogue TV!

I think it'd be better if you upgrade your xp installation to at least XP SP1 .. becaue in normal win xp there's exist a very critical bugs (it can delete your files / directory)

Hello Philip,

Yes the only problems when you're installing 9x.xx version of nvidia forceware driver on SP1. You'll get a short delay when opening the classic control panel and to make it worse you cant see the new control panel

The only solution if you really want to use the new control panel is upgrading xp to sp2 (i've done this) and never had any problem with it :)

ps. the new nv control panel looks great but basically its just the same like the classic control panel .. lol

I have this exact same problem. running SP1 XP.
I noticed that when you try to load the new control panel, it never shows up(although the process appears in task manager). The process "winlogon.exe" then starts to use a mountain of CPU resource while the control panel tries to load. Ending the control panel process will stave the winlogon.exe cpu usage normally within a minute.
Switching to the classic display (go through display properties>settings>advanced) removes this problem, activating the winlogon.exe cpu usage for only a second or 2 before it opens.
