Using Ads on website may reduce your site visitors ?

A while ago i read various topic (sorry can't remember the exact url but it's in some forum, but i think you’ve already seen some topic like this because it's an old topic) about placing advertisement on site and what makes me interested on writing this is that because some people say that by putting advertisement to your site may reduce the number of your site visitors daily, while some other also say it’s useless to put ads into your site because you’re not going to make money from it .. and various other reason

As from my point of view, if someone say it’s useless to put advertisement on your page, that’s really depend on your site too and the ads type. Because let’s say if you run a non profit organization site, then i think you should get a sponsor instead of placing advertisement because your site visitor are questioning your site credibility because of those ads. With the exception no matter what your site is, as long as you never use popup ads, your visitor will not get annoyed by those popup

But what if they say, by placing advertisement on your site, you’ll lose your site visitor because they simply don't like advertisement ? … well that’s an easy answer ..

First off .. if they’re saying something like that, don't listen to them because if they do really hate advertisement .. instead of saying something useless like that .. maybe they should use ad blocking software installed on their machine. Even if they say, they can't afford to buy a good adblocking program, they can always use freeware / opensource program like me (i never see my own ads or someone else ads) .. why did i say this ? simple .. that’s because if they don't want to donate to your site, at least they use ad blocking software ;)

But back to the topic .. does advertisement really reduce your site visitor ? no .. i dont think so, simply because most internet users don't really know about ads eventhough it’s already labeled clearly as advertisement (even lots of my friend doesn't even know about it) ... The only people that know about advertisement on your website is a just a small percentage of internet users … other than that your loyal site visitor don't really care about your ads because they’re already enjoying what your site can offer
