Paid Links & PayPerPost = Lose Rank in Google
By Reaper-X on Dec 12, 2006 in Blog, Google, Internet, SEO, Website
I just read an interesting issue regarding blog that use PPP (Pay Per Post) to monetize their blog via paid review or other similar paid links advertisement that may affect their search engine position from Jason Calacanis blog (in this case you can lose trust in Google). Here’s what Matt Cutts said on Seomoz :
Google wants to do a good job of detecting paid links. Paid links that affect search engines (whether paid text links or a paid review) can cause a site to lose trust in Google
Well … that’s really interesting because as far as i know lots of people using their blog to create content specifically for PPP because it’s a lot easier than making money using other advertisement type such as Adsense, YPN, etc.
If that’s the case then lots of site that is using Text Link Ads and ReviewMe may be affected by this .. and i’m wondering if my previous post about reviewme would affect my search engine result too :? even if i’m using nofollow tag ? just as Amit Agarwal wrote on his blog about this ?
And as a note, i haven’t make anything from ReviewMe (if you read my previous post about ReviewMe you’ll know why) .. and i don’t use pay per post because my paypal account can only be used to send money only (thanks to it) .. and as for text link ads .. i give my another thanks because of their rejection (i’ve been rejected by their automated program for 3 times because my website doesn’t have the required criteria) .. lol .. i guess i’m a little bit lucky here :P
