Error Code 0×80072EFF from Windows Live Messenger

Yesterday everytime i try to connect to Windows Live Messenger i always got error 80072EFF message, but this time GAIM doesn’t work either unlike the previous 0×81000306 Error Message .. fortunately this time i can find the solution real fast, actually the problem was caused because i’m using proxy to connect to the internet (HTTP Proxy) but not anon proxy of course its just my own proxy server .. and because windows live messenger always follow the default internet configuration from the Internet Explorer .. the only solution is :

  • Disable proxy in Internet Explorer
  • Configure the always direct rules to msn address if you’re setting your computer as your own proxy server
  • Configure Internet Explorer to bypass proxy connection to MSN Address

Simple isn’t it ? By the way there’s one more thing, if you’re already using Socks 4 proxy then this is not the problem for you :)

Im sorry but i’ve never tried using Windows Live Mail Desktop to retrieve my email, so i dont know much about it

btw as far as i know WLMD is still in beta stages, so it’d be best for you to let the developer know about your situation

Using Windows Live Mail Desktop Beta

Moved mails from one account to another (both hotmail accounts) and now getting this error.
Any idea how to resolve it? some of my mails moved but some have not moved (when I looked up through the web interface i.e. hotmail.com). Any one know how to resolve these issues?

This is the error I receive.

Unable to poll for new messages on your HTTP server. There is an error synchronizing your mail account. Please verify your account has been configured correctly by first accessing your mail on the web. Server: ‘http://mail.services.live.com/DeltaSync_v1.0.0/sync.aspx’, Protocol: HTTPMail, Port: 80, Secure(SSL): No, Server Error: 0×80072EFF, Error Number: 0×80072EFF
