FTP Problem on Hostgator

Although my website can still be accessed without problem, i have another problem in my Hostgator account .. and that is the FTP connection always timeout whenever i tried to connect directly to the user directory or the public html directory. At first i thought this problem was caused by my internet connection, but if i try to connect to specific remote path directly that has only 5 files or so .. i can connect without problem at all … with the exception i’m locked in that directory because if i try to go up one level, i’ll get the same timeout message.

Because i don’t think there’s problem on my side (i’ve tried disabling firewall, using port and pasv ftp connection, etc) i decided to contact the support team yesterday .. and so far they haven’t found the solution to this problem until i post this. But i think i’ll wait for several days again just in case their technician are still fixing this problem.

Update: Although i don’t know what is the problem and i still getting the timeout message (Hostgator Staff already said they can’t reproduce this), i think it’s best for me to wait a little longer to see if there’s something wrong with my connection (although it’s quite rare to see problem like this .. because i can still connect to some of my directory here except directory that has lots of files)
