Referer Spam Hit My Site

My site has been getting lots of referer spam lately, it seems they’re quite stupid to think i’d fall for their useless trick .. and if this keep happening, i’ll put some protection to reduce the number of those referer spammer into accessing my site.

As for those who didn’t know, referer spam is the old technique used by spammer to promote their own useless site, their scam site, their affiliate link, or anything they want. By faking their referer so it looks like their site is making link into your site although the actual link isn’t there.

But not every referer spam use it to promote product, but they’re just using it to get backlink into their site. Especially if you allow public access to your site statistic and those statistic script are designed to automatically parse everything that looks like an url into a link … tricky huh ? Thats why a good webmaster doesn’t allow public access to their site statistic.
