Affiliate link, should you reveal it ?

For some people affiliate link is something that makes them stay away from your site, although personally i didn’t see affiliate link as something bad. But losing visitor to your site ? should you accept that ? Just to trade with some affiliate link ?

Well if it’s for me that’s a tough question, if i have an affiliate link, i’ll keep it for a while (it could be a month or so) and see if it’s generating income to me or not .. because not everyone know about affiliate link, and even if they know about it, they can’t do anything to your site because that’s your own site, and you pay for it. Of course in order to cover the expenses to maintain your site, you’ll have to generate more income and that’s why if the affiliate link can cover those expenses, you should leave it on your site.

And if they’re asking you directly a question like, why there is lots of affiliate link on your site ? then give them a question like if they have a website or not ? and do you know about monthly expense ? . Because someone who know about monthly expense from maintaining website (paying internet access, paying webhosting, etc) … can understand that you’re paying lots of money just to make sure your site running properly.

And what about using free hosting ? well if the free webhosting gave you permission to make money from it. Why not using it ? As you already knew even if you’re using free hosting .. you still pay for your monthly internet access, and your electric bill.

Although that is depend on your perception, if it’s for me i’d rather choose to not telling anyone about affiliate link on my site, unless i want to say it directly on my post or they ask to me directly :) (if there’s any) :P
