Wordpress Vulnerabilities
By Reaper-X on Aug 20, 2006 in Blogging, General Blogging, Internet, Network and Security, Personal, Wordpress
I’ve been reading some security vulnerabilities on Wordpress based blogging platform, especially the PHP Code Injection vulnerability on Wordpress 2.0.2 and below, because just yesterday i read about most users that is using Wordpress 2.0.3+ feel their wordpress installation is slowing down because of upgrading their wordpress installation, and they choose to revert back or downgrade into wordpress 2.0.2 or below which has some serious security problem … and i just don't understand why did they choose to downgrade their version just to get more speed on their wordpress platform by sacrificing their Security … anyway that’s just my opinion …

I've been so busy that I'm backdated when It comes to reading your posts. As a blogger the most important thing to me is the security of my blog. Therefore it seems to me sacrificing security for speed is just plain dumb. But I suppose if all a blogger is posting is youtubes and stuff lifted from other sites without doing any actual research and writing of their own then security wouldn't be that important. I've read a lot of blogs and it seems to me that those that have original content are rare indeed but saying so isn't being "nice" is it? ;)
You're correct about that timethief, actually since i saw a post at Wordpress.org forums about speed issue at Wordpress 2.0.4 and they choose to roll back into version 2.0.2 that has important security issue is a bad move ... but that's just my opinion .. lol
