How to use PCSX2 the Playstation 2 Emulator

Now im going to put some guide on how to configure PCSX2 to try out the PS2 Emulator. And since few people are asking is their system can play ps2, then the answer is no. You can’t actually play ps2 games on your pc right now (dunno for a real high end system which is using Dual Core Processor, SLI Graphics Card, etc, but to most users just wait for it), but if you want to help the PCSX2 team, you can do it by testing out PCSX2 and reporting any bugs you found to them.
First you must have PS2 Bios in order to try out the PCSX2 (you can find it easily on the internet) ;) and dont forget to put it into Bios Directory in your PCSX2 Directory
and the next step would be running the PCSX2 Executable and configure it like this (maybe different depending on your computer configuration, especially to those who are using SSE2 Enabled Processor, such as Pentium 4, Athlon64, etc)
1. Configuration Screen of PCSX2
2. Graphic Plugin Configuration Screen
3. Controller Configuration (since i dont own a joystick, im using Keyboard)
4. CDVD Plugin Configuration
Note: if you don’t have ASPI installed on your system use Win2k/XP IOCTL SCSI Command and set it into your DVD Rom Drive (if you’re not using ISO Image)
5. The next step would be putting your PS2 Games on your DVD ROM and choose to Run CD from File Menu … and pray hope it’ll work :P and in my case i was running Dragon Ball Z Budokai Tenkaichi PAL Version
And that’s it … you’re finished ;)
Note: If you got an error message saying error opening gs plugin or something like that, most likely you’re trying to use ZeroGS Plugin and your vga card is not a Pixel Shader 2.0 Capable Card (ZeroGS require Pixel Shader 2.0 ++ Capable Card) .. and the only solution is using GSDX Plugin as the graphic plugin or get a new graphic card

# KlaudiX – there’s no big different to configure pcsx 0.82 and pcsx 0.9 series, so you can try it easily by yourself ;)

If you need to choose a specific path as a directory, you can do it easily by changing the bios directory under the configuration page .. btw did you already extract the bios files before putting it into the bios directory of pcsx2 ?

no, actually you put the bios file into your pcsx2/bios directory because the above is just an example

Well there’s no need to configure / set bios directory as long as you put it in bios directory under your pcsx2 directory .. for example C:\pcsx2\bios\

Sorry dont have those bios version, but if you want to create ISO easily (and if you’re using original PS2 CD/DVD) … your best bet is by using Alcohol 120 .. unfortunately its not free

Well torrent is the number one source for a really big material such as ps2 isos :D .. just search for a torrent site and you’ll come up with a big list of ps2 isos ;)
err guys i got the emulator and the setup done alrdy, but where can u dl the ps2 games frm the net? need sources pls… my email is yjkb2000@yahoo.com.sg

Hm … more likely it caused by misconfiguration or incorrect bios file, because by only putting the bios file in the bios directory (for example c:\pcsx2\bios\SCPH1001.bin} without editing the bios path, pcsx2 will be able to detect that automatically
i got the bios “SCPH1001.BIN” and i put that in the bios folder and set the bios directory in the cofig_
but it still says cannot load bios .”.c:\XXX\XXx\pcsx2″ wat u think is da problem?

One note: e-mail message can’t be more than 10 Mb, may be you can compress it to volumed archive (splitted), something around 6-7Mb per file and send it as one file – one message.

well .. just as i said before that this emulator is still in progress and not all games works fine as it should .. beside … you’ll really need an extremely powerfull pc and using a graphic card with minimum of pixelshader 2.0

yap, n i do the step,but the bios cannot be seen in the bios box at the configuration, i don’t know why n how,if u have any idea pls help me.
