How to use PCSX2 the Playstation 2 Emulator

Now im going to put some guide on how to configure PCSX2 to try out the PS2 Emulator. And since few people are asking is their system can play ps2, then the answer is no. You can’t actually play ps2 games on your pc right now (dunno for a real high end system which is using Dual Core Processor, SLI Graphics Card, etc, but to most users just wait for it), but if you want to help the PCSX2 team, you can do it by testing out PCSX2 and reporting any bugs you found to them.
First you must have PS2 Bios in order to try out the PCSX2 (you can find it easily on the internet) ;) and dont forget to put it into Bios Directory in your PCSX2 Directory
and the next step would be running the PCSX2 Executable and configure it like this (maybe different depending on your computer configuration, especially to those who are using SSE2 Enabled Processor, such as Pentium 4, Athlon64, etc)
1. Configuration Screen of PCSX2
2. Graphic Plugin Configuration Screen
3. Controller Configuration (since i dont own a joystick, im using Keyboard)
4. CDVD Plugin Configuration
Note: if you don’t have ASPI installed on your system use Win2k/XP IOCTL SCSI Command and set it into your DVD Rom Drive (if you’re not using ISO Image)
5. The next step would be putting your PS2 Games on your DVD ROM and choose to Run CD from File Menu … and pray hope it’ll work :P and in my case i was running Dragon Ball Z Budokai Tenkaichi PAL Version
And that’s it … you’re finished ;)
Note: If you got an error message saying error opening gs plugin or something like that, most likely you’re trying to use ZeroGS Plugin and your vga card is not a Pixel Shader 2.0 Capable Card (ZeroGS require Pixel Shader 2.0 ++ Capable Card) .. and the only solution is using GSDX Plugin as the graphic plugin or get a new graphic card

you can always use a Converter to connect your ps2 / gaming console joystick into your Computer (mostly its a USB port)
Hey man can you tell me if exist a joystick like that for PS2 in stores??
Well it’s gonna be real hard when trying to use Keyboard to play DBZ beside i was playing this game using my ps2 console and of course that means im using Joystick. :P
hey Reaper-X I wait for DBZ Budokai Tenkaichi adn I want to try some newthings…Tell me how is camera??? And is difficult to play with Keyboard.

I finally got a bios after long days search and it doesnt have rom0.bin, rom2.bin and erom. Any help would be very great or could you send me one. I really need it. Have a nice day everybody.

i dont think there’s a place to download extremely big files other than torrents or p2p so the only way to download iso is using torrent (which is the best) :P
btw have you set the port forwarding correctly? because if its not done properly you can only download torrents file at low speed

i was able to find the pcsx2 emulator but ive had no luck finding the bios for it…could u please direct me to the appropriate website to find one or if u have one could u send me one.
Sorry i cant be of any help to you .. well if i was using an unlimited connection i’ll surely know the place to download ISO (actually i know a few but im not interested to download it) lol .. and as for Shin Budokai, i dont know much about it since i dont have it. Btw im 23 and from Indonesia :)

Bro’ now I download DBZ Shin Budokai with BitComet and I hope it can be comparated with Tenkaichi…Well I saw screenshots with that game and I like it…And if you can do anything for me about this game e-mail me…THANKS AGAIN!

well i have the cd (dvd) actually :D beside like i said before, i was using unlimited internet connection which is only 2GB / month .. so i never download/upload any iso, movie (except small movie) … beside if you were from my country, you can buy the ps2 dvd for really cheap price (you’re not gonna believe it if i tell you the actual price) .. lol .. but one thing for sure 10 years old boy can buy a ps2 cd / dvd with his own money in my country :D

Dunno where to get tenkaichi but maybe try searching around torrents link and you can find one if you’re lucky .. btw if you could be specific about the torrent problem maybe i can help you ;)

Just like crazy gamer said, you can find alot of iso using google or another search engine, but one thing for sure .. you can find it easily in various torrent site ;)

actually its depend on the bios file you’re using … some require the present of rom2.bin and some doesnt require it :)

i cannot play my ps2 cause i unhooked the high def cables for my 360, and the HD Switch Boxes are expensive. So i want to play my ps2 games on my PC, i am pretty sure i have all the Bios files, and i have rom1, but i was wondering if you could hook it up with the rom2.bin file i guess it is that I need…

Any DirectX 9 based VGA Card already support pixel shader 2.0, so you can find it easily

thanks reap for the info. which brand should i used for a graphic card and how would i go about pixel shader 2.0.i could always find a used cpu with a higher processor speed.
Other than fast processor speed (above 2GHz) you’ll need to have a really good graphic card and support Pixel Shader 2.0
never mind about my last comment. i figured it out. but what i can’t figured out is when i put in contra shattered soldier it’s running but it doesn’t show up on my screen. could it be because im running it on a 1.3 gig speed
