Here’s a list of the most usefull PS2 tools ever released on the net (for free of course) ;) beside i’ve already tested it all and all this tools works great
Code (Gameshark, Codebreaker, ARMax) Converting / Decrypting :
- Codebreaker 7+ Decryptor and Converter : CB Crypt 1.2
- ARMax / Gameshark / CB 1–6 / RAW Code Converter : Max Convert
- ARMax Codelist Manager (used to create ARMax Codelist) : ARMax Code Manager
PS2 Ripping Tools (although i’ve already put this on my previous post but i forgot to add the link to the official website, so i put it again together in here) ;) :
Note: The official site is in Japanese, but if you don’t want to download each one of these files you can download it from my uploaded files (included in my previous post about ripping PS2 Movie)
- PSS Demux (used to Demux Audio and Video from PS2 Stream : PSS Demux
- PSS Player (used to play directly the PS2 Stream without demuxing it first, if you dont like to convert it into another video container first) : PSS Player
- MFAudio (can be used to demux and convert the PS2 Audio Stream into standard WAV format) : MFAudio

Save Game Converter :
- PS2 Savegame Converter into Various Format : PS2 Save Builder
FTP Server Program (for use in PS2 Machine) :
- ExecFTP Standalone version (use this tool to transfer data between your ps2 and your computer)
- ExecFTP ISO Image version (same as above except this version is an ISO Image)
Note: for those who cant copy the ELF executable into your ps2 memory card in order to run it from ExecFTP Standalone version, choose the ExecFTP ISO Image version as temporary solution and burn it into blank CD-R using your favorite burning program in order to run the ExecFTP program … but you’ll need swap magic trick if you’re not using Modchip on your playstation 2 console. (im going to create some tutorial on this topic in the future, so dont forget to bookmark this site) :P
PS2 Bootable CD / DVD Creating tools :
- Dummy File Creator : Use this tools to create a dummy files on your burned ps2 cd / dvd
- CDGen 3 : this is the tools used to create a bootable CD / DVD Structure for your burned ps2 disc
PS2 Media Player to play Divx / XVid video on your PS2 (run this on your ps2 machine) :
- PS2 Reality Media Player : although there’s similar apps like this one but i choose this program to play media files such as MP3, Divx / Xvid Video on my pstwo
Apps Launcher for your PS2 Machine :
- LaunchElf : this launcher simply is the best launcher for me ;)
Playing PS2 from your HDD (since im using slim pstwo i cant use HDLoader program), so the only way for me to play through HDD is by using USB HDD Advance by connecting my harddisk drive into usb connector (not all games can be played like on HDLoader) .. if you need it try searching the internet because im not going to put any links to it (illegal) ;)

do you have to have a mod chip to use a downloaded codebreaker
yo, i’m no noob to games but what is a mod chip and does anyone know where i can get a free code breaker download and an explanation of all the software used here. please help

ok 1st of all i need a code breaker so i can run code majic on my ps2 slim so we downloaded it from you site and we tryed putting it to a cd-r disk but whene i put it in my ps2 it didnt work so i started reading everyones elses commments to see if i can find help. i figured out that i need a dvd burner to do it. is that true or can i use it with an audio burner??

umm..im having some problems with my codebreaker v9.2 which i created from an ISO(downloaded :6MB, unpacked into : 244MB~OMG~) from a p2p called ares.
my problem iz i dono what modchip i have but im pretty sure iz a good one and codebreaker loads from my PS2 with a CD-R and all of that…but even after activating FFXII cheats the dont work when i select start game….cud u help me sovle this..

what do you mean by game id? im really sorry im new to this stuff man..
ah you just need to tick the USE Common V7 Encryption first, and when you’re going to convert it into armax, you’ll need to assign game id first to the maxconvert :)
btw my ps2 is NTSC

where can i get CBCrypt? i tried the link but its not working… i’ve downloaded CodeBreaker v9.2 (CRACKED) from torrent and it has 2 files .iso and .elf i’ve already burned the .iso and when i try to play it on my ps2 it just shows me a black screen… do i need to burn the .elf to make it work or is there something wrong with it? btw, i have a modded ps2 and i dont know what chip is it because when i bought it its modified.. please help me..
hi i am just wondering ok i sent a friend of mine a flash drive so he could have something to hold the stuff he had on his memory cards but when he put them on there they saved with no file type all it says for file type is file and it named everything BALSUS ok he sent me one and im trying to convert it from that into a .cbs file i downloaded the ps2 save builder and i tried it and i got it to save into .cbs file format but when iput my codebreaker in and tried to copy it onto my memory card it coppied but when i load up the game that the save was for it dont show it for the profile how come that is everyprofile that i have is like 122 kb and the one i converted into .cbs format read that it was like 50kb i dont know what i did wrong plz help thx

Because i havent tried using the gameshark – gamesave features, i cant tell you on how to use it but … just in case you’re wondering, whether you’ve downloaded the correct format
ARMax gamesaves always using the .max extension, and in order to use the downloaded savegame from the internet you’ll need to use the uncrush features first (which is basically the same as extracting file from a compressed archive file such as zip)
while the codebreaker savegame use the .cbs extension, and you don’t really need to use anything other than copy paste function from the Codebreaker memory card menu
I Also Forgot To Mention that i’ve been to the gameshark site & looked for the gamesaves but they dont have anythin for the games i have or am lookin for but they do have sum for sum games that i dont have or want, i dont want to have to buy anythin else i want to be able to use what i have but if i HAVE to i probably will, again any suggestions or help would be greatly appreciated, again thanx in advance.
Ok ok I read MOST of the questions & comments but i didnt read anyone say anythin about gameshark, i have gameshark2 v.1.1 & it has the option “manage memory & gamesaves” & it ask to load from cd-r & it has it for some games & i wen i put no u can use the ones off the pendrive, which i have a dane-elec 2gb & i tried using a gamesave from gamefaqs but i think i used the wrong one cuz copied it to the game i wanted & now wen i go to my memory card it doesnt show my game icon anymore it shows the gameshark icon & has the code as the name, i dont know anythin about how to do this whole gamesaves & i downloaded stuff that other sites recommended like ps2 save builder & help will be greatly appreciated.

I have gone thru all the comments and I think u’ll be the right person to help me.
I dont have any of the above probs, I have CB 9.2 which recognises my pen drive also so everything is set.
Now my problem is the codes Smackdown Vs Raw 2007. I feel there are lot of things in the game which can be explored but u dont find those codes in any of the codes site. So I want to write my own codes. I tried the net to learn but I ended up just downloading lot of tools like ps2dis, VBA, Hex Editor, 010 Editor, CB2cript but to no avail. I still cudnt learn or make my own codes. So i request u to help me or atleast guide me to a site which can help me learn it. I am really getting frustrated ….pls help me…hope my search ends here with this post….Thanks in advance

hmmmmm… maybe you’re right I will check the version of my slim ps2.. but the gameshark and AR Max is working with the USB..

It seems that you’re using a brand new ps2 slim type .. im sorry to say this, but codebreaker doesnt support the usb for the new ps2 slim type
btw im using the 50004 Slim type and it worked just fine so i can assume that you have the newer version of that type

Mmm, I’m using a non-mod ps2 slim, is there a way I can run ps2 games off my usb-HD without the use of SwapMagic? or is that just impossible?
I tried it in another PS 2 and the CB 9 works.. but the problem is the pen drive.. I want to download the day1 to ps2 but it doesn’t recognize the Pen drive.. I’m using Sony Mini Micro Vault 256 MB..
doesn’t work ? well the answer is depend on whether you’re using original cb or not ;)
if you’re using original cb 9.x, you need NTSC US console in order to use it
if you’re using pirated cb 9.x, you need a good modchip (PAL or NTSC) in order to use it :)

is the latest version of CB working in Slim type Ps 2?
i assume you’re using SlimPS2 NTSC non modded (no modchip, and using original CB9.x) … then the answer is YES

Also, if u could send step by step procedure on how to convert codebreaker codes to ARMax codes..coz i downloaded cb codes, made use of Max convert tool to convert to Armax codes but then when i test it to a game (GTA: VCS)–> not working.

yes you’ll need to burn it to a Blank CD :)
as for converting codes, if you’re planning on converting Codebreaker codes V7.1++ you’ll need to use CBCrypt first
note : you can identify new CB7.1 Codes by looking at the master code, if you saw B4 that mean it is using CB7.1 format

Great blog. I wanted to know if you had any idea why a modded fat PS2 would have to be reset alot in order to play a burned DVD game. The game was an ISO image and the PS2 had to be reset three times before it played the game but then after playing the game twice, it seems as if the game doesn’t boot anymore. Any suggestions?

is there anyway to make usb flashdisk to become virtual memory card on ps2 slim?
Unfortunately no, the only thing you can do with USB Flashdisk on ps2 is backup the savegame from MC, or transferring codes, although you can also use it to store your mp3 files and use other 3rd party tool to play the mp3 files from your ps

I was just wondering if you knew a place where i might be able to download a swapmagic 3.8 coder MC savefile thats recently updated? There is no update thing for this program except manual update then MC save,which very annoying.
I tried looking inside the coder ps2 savefile but theres no “codelist” that can easily be read and cut and pasted to. I tried a program called rkswapper which stores its codes in an easy .txt but they rarely seemed to boot, or weould boot but no codes work.
If the swapmagic coder just stored codes that easy i would be set but alas, they have to make it coded, any ideas? And on converting codes from ntsc vers to pal- where do you obtain the foreign elf? and do you know of a help guide for this as i dont know shite about hex editing and all that jazz.
It seems tough but im willing to give it a try cos pal codes for armax and the like seem to take forever to come out for my pal version games- especially since i like playing the out there titles that sell less and sometimes dont ever go up at all on codejunkies etc.
BTW to armyranger – every save ive download is ready to go and dont need no converting. I just download then put on usb, put usb in ps2 and transfer using program (i use ulaunchelf).
WHOOPS sorry i only just saw it said ps3…Cant you just put the usb in your ps3 and copy it in? If you cant see it on your usb stick try using triangle to show all.? If not im sorry i tried and from above posts you should be able to see that Reaper-X doesnt deal with ps3, yet ?

i have a ps3 and i lost a ps2 save off of the ps2 virtual memory card
I have a slimline ps2 model #70012 , and I just recently bought a flash drive for it. When I plug in the flash drive, and load up codebreaker, codebreaker doesn’t read that the flash drive is plugged in, but it is and the light lights up to prove thats its got power going through it.
Any help at all, would be GREATLY appreciated.
i got action replay max for the ps2. and i got a bytestor usb 2gb i put the pro evolution soccer 6 option file on to it the when i load up action replay max it say theres no files on my usb flash
