Here’s a list of the most usefull PS2 tools ever released on the net (for free of course) ;) beside i’ve already tested it all and all this tools works great
Code (Gameshark, Codebreaker, ARMax) Converting / Decrypting :
- Codebreaker 7+ Decryptor and Converter : CB Crypt 1.2
- ARMax / Gameshark / CB 1–6 / RAW Code Converter : Max Convert
- ARMax Codelist Manager (used to create ARMax Codelist) : ARMax Code Manager
PS2 Ripping Tools (although i’ve already put this on my previous post but i forgot to add the link to the official website, so i put it again together in here) ;) :
Note: The official site is in Japanese, but if you don’t want to download each one of these files you can download it from my uploaded files (included in my previous post about ripping PS2 Movie)
- PSS Demux (used to Demux Audio and Video from PS2 Stream : PSS Demux
- PSS Player (used to play directly the PS2 Stream without demuxing it first, if you dont like to convert it into another video container first) : PSS Player
- MFAudio (can be used to demux and convert the PS2 Audio Stream into standard WAV format) : MFAudio

Save Game Converter :
- PS2 Savegame Converter into Various Format : PS2 Save Builder
FTP Server Program (for use in PS2 Machine) :
- ExecFTP Standalone version (use this tool to transfer data between your ps2 and your computer)
- ExecFTP ISO Image version (same as above except this version is an ISO Image)
Note: for those who cant copy the ELF executable into your ps2 memory card in order to run it from ExecFTP Standalone version, choose the ExecFTP ISO Image version as temporary solution and burn it into blank CD-R using your favorite burning program in order to run the ExecFTP program … but you’ll need swap magic trick if you’re not using Modchip on your playstation 2 console. (im going to create some tutorial on this topic in the future, so dont forget to bookmark this site) :P
PS2 Bootable CD / DVD Creating tools :
- Dummy File Creator : Use this tools to create a dummy files on your burned ps2 cd / dvd
- CDGen 3 : this is the tools used to create a bootable CD / DVD Structure for your burned ps2 disc
PS2 Media Player to play Divx / XVid video on your PS2 (run this on your ps2 machine) :
- PS2 Reality Media Player : although there’s similar apps like this one but i choose this program to play media files such as MP3, Divx / Xvid Video on my pstwo
Apps Launcher for your PS2 Machine :
- LaunchElf : this launcher simply is the best launcher for me ;)
Playing PS2 from your HDD (since im using slim pstwo i cant use HDLoader program), so the only way for me to play through HDD is by using USB HDD Advance by connecting my harddisk drive into usb connector (not all games can be played like on HDLoader) .. if you need it try searching the internet because im not going to put any links to it (illegal) ;)

Is there any program that has the ability to boot up a playstation 2 burnt disc onto a playstation 2, without modding it or using one of those swipe tools? I have a Slim ps2.
Well most probably you’re using NTSC console if you bought it few years ago ;-)

Hi I need some help getting a Codebreaker 9+ iso. My torrents aren’t downloading…
I’m using a NTSC PS2 with modchip, but I have no idea whether it is a US or JP, or what modchip it is.
Help is much appreciated!
Unfortunately that’s not possible to play any home made (burned) dvd / cd on your playstation 2 console if you’re not using Modchip / modded ps2 .. or SwapMagic :-(
I downloaded CodeBreaker v9.2 from a torrent. After un packing the .7z it gave me two files: CodeBreaker v9.2 DVD & CodeBreaker v9.2 CD. I burned both .iso files using Nero. When I insert either disk in my PS2 I get a message that says “Insert a disk that is Playstation or PS2 Compatable.” My Ps2 is not modded BTW. Any ideas. Bum file?

anyway to answer your question :
Well about generic stick usage, do you mean a Memory Card such as Memory Stick duo, etc ? well i dont think that is possible to use such thing on ps2
but if its a USB Flash disk, you can be sure that you can transfer your savegame into your thumb drive without problem (except for some USB Flash disk model)
as a side note, i’ve tried transferring my ps2 savegame into my computer using Armax with below USB Flash disk without problem :
1. Apacer 256 MB HF Series
2. A-data MyFlash 512MB
3. A-Data MyFlash 128MB
and another note, the above thumb drive can also be used with codebreaker (9.x series) without problem as well :-)
Hi,
I have been looking all over the web, likely in the wrong spot, to see if it is possible to save game on a generic memory stick as opposed to those 8 Meg super expensive sony memory cards (which kids tend to loose). Is there a software that can be installed on a slim PS2 brand new playstation that will allow Generic stick usage? It is not clear to me that the ARMax products can help.

well you can of course use the free service from Wordpress (you can try searching for wordpress in here) or you can use Blogger if you want to monetize your blog, and later maybe you can get your own hosted blog like me too ;)
btw can you give me an idea on what you’re going to use your blog for ? (other than game)

Hahaha .. dont worry about it ;) eventually you’ll learn how to do it later :D but as for now you might try using other cheat devices because Codebreaker by default only accept NTSC console without problem (if you want to see your ps2 console type, you can look at the back of your console and search for SCPH-XXXXX value) so you’ll know what is your ps2 console type :)
i’m a kid so i don’t know how to dismantle and add a modchip.
hm .. thats strange, because matrix infinity is one of the most compatible modchip to play codebreaker in PAL console (by default CB can only be used on NTSC console) .. btw i think there’s a chance you are using a fake matrix infinity modchip (try searching for Modbo modchip)
btw if its for me (im using PAL console) i can use it without problem with various game
if i’m not wrong its matrix infinity.
my ps2 console can play both NTSC and PAL Games and when i use codebreaker , only my PAL Games booted up but the rest doesn’t and about the modchip i don’t know because when i bought it, it was already modified. So sorry, i don’t know the type of modchip.
Hm .. if that’s the case .. i dont think you can transfer savegame from your ps2 yet as for now ..
btw is it possible to connect ps2 memory card into ps3 memory card slot ? maybe its possible to do it if you can insert your ps2 mc into ps3 mc slot (if there’s any)
Thanks for the quick reply Reaper-x. I don’t think there is a cheat device out yet for ps3. I can transfer saves from ps3 to a usb but the file is in a different format from the cbs etc… I was hoping to find someway to convert them to an actual ps2 format that the ps3 might recognize.
um .. i dont know if its going to work with ps3 or not because i dont know anything about ps3, but maybe you can try it using the same method like on ps2 (if there’s a cheat devices available for ps3 console) :)
Is it possible to convert and transfer any cbs ar or maxx files to be able to work with the PS3?

eh ? you can only run pal game ? what is your ps2 modchip ? and what is your console type (NTSC/PAL) ?
btw i think there’s no way to convert your ntsc game into pal game (although i think i’ve seen some code that can convert it *dunno how that works thought* without actually test it because i dont think i really need that) lol .. try asking at CMP team .. (they’re the best when it comes to this stuff ;)

ok i’ll tell u, i burn the image into my cd-rw and it can be played but when i load the cheats and want to load the game, there is an error saying “unable to load game plaese retry ” and i notice that only one game i succesfully cheated and its a PAL system and thats only game with a pal system. And the other 17 is NTSC system.
are you trying to play it on real ps2 console or emulator ? btw could you give me a detailed description ? for example blank screen when running cb or something else :)
wait a second, u gave me version 9.2 ? then why can’t my games start ? they needed the codebreaker version 7.0 above .

[ A ] as far as i know, you cant upgrade using pcsx2, but why not insert the codes by yourself ? its easy to write new codes using keyboard instead of joystick :D .. btw i never use codebreaker on pcsx2 although it does run

[ A ] No .. actually i never download anything (and that means any files) above 100MB, because my monthly bandwidth / quota for internet access is only 2GB / month. :(

hm .. then the easiest way is .. go to CMGSCCC .. you can find various cheat codes for codebreaker device there :)

what games you’re trying to play ? btw .. nowadays cheat devices can be updated easily using internet connection beside you can do the old way by inserting it manually and i never have problem unless the cheat codes itself is not working :D
ooh yeah if you’re talking about Codebreaker .. what code format you’re using ? because codebreaker can only accept RAW format or Codebreaker encrypted format :)

[ A ] i never use nero start smart .. but if you want to burn it, just run nero burning rom and from the recorder menu choose to BURN IMAGE .. and point to the image file .. that’s it ;) .. if its ask to use a Blank CD-R then you should use a blank cd-r instead of blank dvd-r :)
When i burned the iMAGE FILE I WAS TOLD THAT I need to use a cd-r/rw but not a dvd why ?
